Saluton! It is once again I, Tyson Saner. I'm still your host for this curated assortment of audio content from various locations around the globe and, if you are still listening, then I am still grateful and I wish you a warm "Welcome Back". If you are listening for the first time...then simply "Welcome." And glad you found us! We're brought to you this time around by Henderson's Pants Toddler Trau, the stylish pants for those who have just learned to walk.  In this installment, I've got some interesting selections for you this episode. We've got clips from R U Talkin' R.E.M. RE: Me?, The Goon Cast, Unladylike, Food To Watch Films By, Pretending With Dice, and Unspooled. We've also got a double dose of raging moderate comedian and social commentator Will Durst's Burst O' Durst segments...in fact, we're leading the show off with our first of two B.O.D.'s… CLIPS Unspooled From the iTunes show description: Paul Scheer is a lifelong movie buff, but he's never seen many of the all time greats. On Unspooled, his team-up with film critic Amy Nicholson, he's remedying that by watching the AFI's top 100 movies of all time. On episode one, Paul and Amy jump straight into the AFIís number one film of all time, Citizen Kane. They explain why it was almost never released, take a closer listen to Orson Welles' innovative use of sound, and try to answer the big question: Is this really the best movie ever? Plus: an interview with a guest expert, cinematographer Steve Gainer, on why Citizen Kane looks so incredible. Pretending With DiceThe iTunes Show Description: Tabletop Gaming/RPG Podcast, hosted by Adam Johnston. Playing various RPG systems in short story-arcs and one-shots. Expect comedy, some strong language, and a lot of fun! (Adam Johnston previously had a soundcast called Sup Dude that he co-hosted with Nathan Taylor, which ran for 5 years, and whose end was announced just over a year ago, via Twitter, on May 19th, 2017.) His new Pretending With Dice has just began a new cycle of RPG goodness. Allow me to elucidate. Our clip is from Epi25, comprising an adventure entitled "Yavin Exodus". In the wake of their successful attack on the Death Star, the Rebel Alliance must evacuate their headquarters on the moon of Yavin IV, before Imperial reinforcements arrive. Alderaanian ex-smuggler Klyne is assigned to the flight crew of the freighter 'Close Encounter'. Kortez finds himself flying patrol with a talkative Sullustan, who tries his patience, and meanwhile, on Nubia, Ugnaught droid expert Thnock carries out a daring heist on an Imperial droid factory. Thrilling stuff! Unladylike What's going on in this soundcast? Hosts Cristen Conger and Caroline Ervin tackle questions through their trademark obsessive research, stories from rule-breakin' ladies and a solid dose of delightful feminist rage. This clip is from thier "How to Buy a Gun" episode, where they explore the fact that women overwhelmingly buy guns for self-defense, but statistics show guns escalate violence across the board. Cristen and Caroline talk with two firearms fans to find out how much that feeling of safety is worth — and what's at the root of women's fear. R U Talkin' R.E.M. RE: ME?Director Lance Bangs joins hosts Adam Scott and Scott Aukerman to discuss R.E.M.'s sixth studio album "Green". They get into talk about R.E.M.'s partial reunion in Portland, when Lance first heard of the band, and how Lance began to know the band and start collaborating with them. Plus, Scott and Scott tell us a little bit more about themselves on an episode of "Talkin' 'Bout Me." Food To Watch Films By Join hosts Johnny, Adam, and Pablo on their experiential voyage through the combination of food and films. (As it says on iTunes: "DISCLAIMER: Some foods suggested may not be safe for human consumption, or even legal for that matter. You have been warned...") IN their reality, the world was wiped out at the beginning of the year, apparently, and this clip comes from a "found footage-style episode" where the boys take us their their review of some films of 2018 that were - to them - never released. Movies in clude 'The Commuter', 'Mary Poppins Returns', and 'Day of the Dead: Bloodline'. Look, I don't explain the clips, I just play 'em.  The Goon CastA show featuring New York-based standup comics from around the city, The Goon Cast is hosted by Billy, Joe, and Jay Mac. They're joined in the episode we clipped by comic Jesse Eigner, and they cover a lot of topics - from Harry Potter and Jesse's new allergy, to New York politics and America's draft picks. Our snippet touches on just a fraction of it all.  And just like that, the show is done.  I hope you leave this listening experience with at least one new idea of where to listen next when you wish to get your audio fix. I'm off to rustle up some more clips from soundcasts Ive recently heard of, soundcasts Ive known of for a while, and soundcasts I have yet to discover. Maybe even something that's been featured before because...why not? I'd greatly appreciate it if you might visit www.succotashshow.com or even www.tysonsaner.com if you've any interest in any of the other things I've created during this life. And, of course, I'd like to thank you for being here and if you have any interest in the continuation of this free soundcast I would most gratefully and gently urge you to please pass the Succotash.   — Tyson Saner

Yes, it is I, Marc Hershon and, as your curator for Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast, I'd like to welcome you to Epi88. I draw cartoons, too! Come on in, make yourself comfortable. Help yourself to whatever’s in the fridge while I show you what we’ve got in store for you this episode… First off, thanks to all the Succotashians who Liked and/or commented on the picture I posted on Facebook and Google+ last week of me holding my first place award for Editorial Cartoons from the California Newspaper Publishers Association! (I draw a weekly cartoon for the Half Moon Bay Review here in Northern California…) Secondly, I don’t know if you bothered to listen in on our “halfisode” Epi87.5 last week, which was just me, rambling, on my way up Interstate 5 from Los Angeles. But this week it’s clips. Clips, clips, clips. Clips from comedy podcasts from around the world. Some I collected. Some were harvested by our ace associate producer Tyson Saner, and a few were sent in by comedy podcasters themselves.  (BTW, if YOU’RE a comedy podcaster or if you’re a listener who has a suggestion for a comedy podcast we should clip, just drop me a note at marc@SuccotashShow.com and I'll hunt it down!) But it's not just clips this time out. We also have our usual features back in place this episode, including a double dose of our Burst O’ Durst segment with comedian Will Durst, the 10 Most Active Shows In The Stitcher Top 100 Comedy Podcast List, the TweetSack segment AND a brand new Henderson’s Pants commercial! Handy Tip: You can find link to the homesites for the shows we feature on each episode by clicking on the title for each show in the blog from our website, at http://SuccotashShow.com The 10 Most Active Show on Stitcher's Top 100 Comedy Podcast List AT                                                                                MOVED12. The Bugle                                                                +1021. How Did This Get Made                                            -1036. Jay & Silent Bob Get Old                                          - 839. This Week in Blackness Radio                                    +747. The Champs w/Neal Brennan & Moshe Kasher           +2550. You Made It Weird w/Pete Holmes                            + 966. Sawbones: A Marital Tour of Misguided Medicine       +1668. Jim Florentine’s Metal Comedy Midgets                    + 881. Pointless: With Kevin Pereira                                   +5091. The Artie Lang Show                                                 -7 Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal PodcastThis past week, for This Week In Comedy Podcasts for Splitsider.com AND for Huffington Post, I reviewed the premiere episode of Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast. It’s just Gilbert in his New York apartment, along with co-host Frank Santopadre, interviewing a different person for about an hour. Their first guest was Dick Cavett. Yeah, THE Dick Cavett. And it’s a good show – funny, touching, thoughtful, sophmoric at times and also occasionally a tad politically incorrect, which I think is great! John Dredge’s "Nothing To Do With Anything Show"I’ve featured the very funny John Dredge’s Nothing To Do With Anything Show before but figured, since he just concluded his 3rd season of the show, I’d play a little piece so you can see why you’d want to go binge-listen the six episodes that constitute the third series. The Jockularity ShowI had a shout out from The Jockularity Show podcast a few weeks ago on the Tweeter, along with a request to check out their show, which is part of the Torn By Sports blog out of Utah. Some of you Succotashians may recall how I stumbled through the most recent Fantasy Football season run by Chris Lanuti at the Broadcast Basement podcast. Clearly, I am not a “sports guy” and the Jocularity Show is just a clearly a “sports show”. They do get into some funny stuff, which qualifies them for this show but for a non-jock, I had kind of a tough slog making it through a couple of pretty straight ahead interviews. But that’s entirely on me – if YOU enjoy sports, you’ll most likely be right there with hosts Rick Aaron and David Wilbur. In this clip, they’re joined by their producer Allen as they talk about “walkup music” – the tunage that the players were being introduced to during the recent NFL draft. Geeks With Wives & CapesBeen hearing a lot about this podcast called Geeks with Wives & Capes, mainly because a couple of friends of Succotash have guested recently, namely Phil Leirness from Chillpak Hollywood Hour and Ethan Dettenmaier from Combat Radio. So I was glad to get this clip, harvested by our Associate Producer Tyson Saner, from Ethan’s visit with Josh, Matt & Joe. The Crunch Time ShowIn Epi87, I featured a clip of myself playing the Random 5 questions game on the Crunch Time Show podcast. I believe I mentioned that I would play a clip from the main part of the show at my next opportunity, which happens to be now. Here are hosts Wayne “Crunchy” Baggins and his wife, The Scully, talking about an embarrassing story around a cassette tape that haunts him to this day. What A Pair of Trousers!Back in Epi84 we featured a clip from The Angry Chimp Show. This week I got a note and a clip from Stu of that podcast, informing us that the Chimp is taking a bit of a break. In its place, sort of, comes a new show entitled What a Pair of Trousers!, featuring Stu and three pals who met back in high school: Ben, Matt, and Rich. Stu says it’s the perfect opportunity for four old friends to get together and talk rubbish. Old Enough to Know BetterTyson Saner has clipped us a slice of a podcast I’ve not heard of before called Old Enough To Know Better. Maybe the best way to sum up the gist of this show is to read their iTunes description: Perspective is everything and we're both seeking it and offering what we can. We're looking for some sanity and a way forward in the world, perhaps you can help? Sometimes digressive and silly, sometimes focused and serious, always honest and aiming to be more. Our taste features host Eden chatting up guests AJ – from the podcast Sup Dude, and Jason about the mechanics of stand-up comedy and storytelling on stage. Like I’m An IdiotIsn’t it great when a podcaster hits on a simple formula that works? The kind that makes other podcasters kicks themselves for not having thought of it before? Josh Cagan has done it with his Like I’m An Idiot podcast, in which he is The Idiot and he ask smart people – i.e. his guests – to explain things to him. In his Epi29, he wanted guest Erika Hall to help him understand “What the fuck is going on in San Francisco?” Picnic Time PodcastAssociate Producer Tyson Saner picked this of the Picnic Time Podcast which, I guess, is related to but not the same as the Picnic Time Radio Morning Morning Show. One host, Adam, is on both, but Jesse is only on the podcast. I think. I’m confused. Anyway, Adam and Jesse talk in this clip about an interesting revelation, so to speak, that has come to life about the late Pastor Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church. In wrapping up Epi88, just a reminder that we tweet @SuccotashShow on Twitter and you can also like us on Facebook. Remember that if you’re shopping Amazon, please come to http://SuccotashShow.com first and click on the Amazon banner at the top of the page. You end up in the same place but when you buy something, we get a little taste from Amazon. We’ve got a some interviews coming up in the next few episodes so that’ll be fun. And we’re getting ever nearer to our big Epi100 End of Season One Extravaganza! In the meantime, if there’ s a comedy podcast out there that we haven’t covered yet, please drop me a line at marc@succotashshow.com and tell me about it. And remember that you can get each episode of Succotash two days before anyone else by subscribing to us at https://www.connectpal.com/succotash. Talk to you soon but, until I do, thanks for passing the Succotash! — Marc Hershon

This title refers to the fact that we're back to an all-clip show this week. No interviews (although we have a goodie coming up next week!) but I did want to thank everyone who commented, tweeted, emailed and otherwise gave me feedback on last week’s Epi51.5, my I-5 Extra Episode. It was experimental, really – just me recording me as I drove back to San Francisco from Los Angeles up Interstate 5. Maybe I’ll try it again on my next road trip. And it gives me the confidence to play a little bit more between clips of the regular podcast, so we’ll see where that goes. To the left is a shot of the sun setting as I trundled through the San Juaquin Valley at the wheel of Studio F, my Fiat 500. (It's not that picturesque but I post it because I love how pissed off people get when they think of me taking pictures while driving...) THE COUNTDOWN I mention in this episode that I'm thinking of dropping the Stitcher Top 10 Comedy Podcast Countdown that we've been featuring on Succotash since the beginning of the year. Reason? The shows just don't change positions enough to be very interesting. None of these, for instance, are unfamiliar: 10. Deathsquad  9. Doug Loves Movies  8. Real Time with Bill Maher  7. SModcast  6. The Nerdist  5. Mohr Stories  4. NPR: Car Talk Podcast  3. WTF with Marc Maron  2. The Adam Carolla Show  1. The Joe Rogan Experience On the other hand, for the first time I also read down the BOTTOM Ten of the Stitcher Comedy Podcasts. Lots of action and places being swapped down there in the cellar. So maybe I'll just do that from now on… 91. Beauty & Da Beast w/Joey Diaz & Felicia Michaels (down 10!) 92. Laugh Out Loud from CBC Radio (up 9!) 93. The Best Show on WFMU with Tom Scharpling 94. The Pod F. Tompkast 95. Walking The Room 96. The Ricky Gervais Podcast (down 13!) 97. Alonzo Bodden: Who's Paying Attention? (up 29!!!) 98. Dining With Doug & Karen (down 31!!!) 99. 76th Street Pod 100. #WeNerdHard DURST This episode our Ambassador to the Middle Will Durst ponders the ex-pontiff and what sort of mischief the former Pope Benedict might get into in his retirement. THE CLIPS JakeThis of Jake Johannsen Comedian Jake Johannsen's podcast is pure Jake. Even when he has guests, it’s got that "Jake" feel to it. I used to hang out with Jake and his guest this latest episode, Bobby Slayton, a lot, as we were all in the San Francisco comedy scene. They were both as the Aspen Comedy Festival recently and Bobby recounts part of a story from when he got to have dinner with Woody Allen. A.D.D. Comedy Podcast David Razowsky is the host, creative force, and backbone of the A.D.D. Comedy Podcast. Ian Foley is the producer and creator. They talk to a lot of comedians, most of whom have come out of the ranks of improv, but also actors and writers. We clip part of David's great interview with screenwriter Carl Gottlieb. Chillpak Hollywood Hour Friends-of-Succotash and podcast royalty Dean Haglund and Phil Leirness continue to fascinate with their Chillpak Hollywood Hour podcast. They get into X-Files memorabilia by way of an email from a listener in this clip. Oh, yes, and they still have a page on MySpace. Too Heavy Too Skydive  Gotta clip in from the guys over at Too Heavy Too Skydive, which is still one of my favorite podcast titles out there. This is Matt's interview with Kai, no last name, who you may have seen on the internet a couple of weeks ago when he stopped a rampaging guy by pulling out a handaxe. Making New Friends Pat O’Rourke invites people into his kitchen every week and I guess gets along with all of them because his podcast is called Making New Friends. He sent this clip along and maybe I lost some notes along the way because, even though I checked the website, I’m not sure who his new friend may be. Sup Dude I THINK the Sup Dude podcast is from England so it kicks off our Triple Shot British Invasion clips this show. AJ & Nathan host a show about a bunch of stuff and yet seem to almost always have time to review a James Bond movie. Here they’re getting into Her Majesty’s Secret Service starring that one-off Bond, George Lazenby. It’s Not Soccer Adam Barker of Barker Podcasts is back with his It’s Not Soccer podcasting partner Billy Bilo. Adam didn’t send a clip but he did send where to find this clip in their lastest episode which, really, is the next best thing. It’s about a package delivery that happened to a friend that went south. Uncle Arthur’s Bollocks This clip is a last minute entry to this week’s show, suggested by the aforementioned Adam Barker who says that it’s a great representative of “north English humour”. I guess that’s humor with a “u” after the  “r”, right? Uncle Arthur seems difficult to find a lot about so just enjoy his ranting about fat people, won’t you? Pod Awful Jesse P-S has kicked off Season 5 of his Pod Awful podcast. His guest, Mike Blejer, a comedian and host of his own podcast, Malignant Brain Humor, and he spend part of the kickoff episode trying to track down a fortune teller of sorts… Salty Language I’m not quite sure what the main thrust of the Salty Language podcast is about. I think it’s a “shootin’ the shit” show, with hosts Bryan, Tony & Tate doing just that. Here’s a chunk that spins off of reading a news item, so that should be a clue, right? Red Mud and Rolling Hills  The Red Mud & Rolling Hills podcast is a sister/brother show, with Dawn Smith and her bro Bo Tate being real from the foothills of South Carolina. Their website proclaims that they use swear words as “sentence enhancers” and there is no shortage of them in the clip we have, where they’re talking about footwear and handsomeness. Once again, we've done our job. Now get out there and do yours: Pass the Succotash! — Marc Hershon
