Lyrically, we get this short story, in typical Tom fashion where he's just giving us the outlines and parts of a narrative. We start out standing by the highway in boots and silver spurs. And we end on the interstate across the Georgia line, which is maybe a teeny nod back to Tweeter and the Monkey Man. In fact, here's an idea, maybe the protagonist of this song is actually Jan! I can imagine her heading south after the fiasco in Jersey, but it sounds like she found trouble again in Nevada and headed back east! It's an incredible lyric to come up with on the spot, as I say and it's obviously gone on to be a lesser known single that is adored by Pettyheads. It's a song that lends itself well to themes of not going down without a fight while at the same time depicting a somewhat desperate character who is going down anyway! Fabulous writing. Send us a textA recent Tweet focused my mind on something I've only really glimpsed with a side-eye. We hear so much about the challenges of the early teen years that it's easy to forget young adults have their own issues. As the Tweeter said, when our kids are 18-22 they're dealing with adult emotions, disappointing experiences and us parents have zero control; making it terrible to witness. The response to the remark was a variety of parents agreeing entirely, or begging for better news because they needed to know that things get better. My two bonus daughters have been through this stage and I have a teen who's literally on the brink, so I thought it would a great topic to discuss with her.In our chat we talked about the precipice of leaving school, the way that our teen's cohort then moves on to vastly different things, and the need for our teens to create their own community for the first time in their lives. For us parents, there's the need to realise how little control we have over our teens, that we too are in a new stage of life, and a time when we begin to see the groundwork we have laid in terms of resilience and self-determination, begin to pay back.We'd love to know what you think about this discussion. Laura tente de lui échapper en se réfugiant dans la chambre mais il l'a rattrape et l'étrangle à plusieurs reprises, avant de lui frapper la tête contre le sol, devant leur fille. Elle sera finalement secourue in extremis par ses voisins. Ce soir-là, Laura Rapp raconte « avoir vu la mort ». Depuis sa rencontre en février 2013 avec le père de sa fille, elle vit une longue descente aux enfers, faite d'insultes, de coups et de menaces de mort, jusqu'à cette nuit d'avril 2018 où elle décide de porter plainte contre lui et de déménager avec sa fille. S'engage ensuite un long combat judiciaire qui durera près de 6 ans. Car après sa condamnation en 2019 à 8 ans de prison ferme pour tentative de meurtre, son ex-compagnon décide de porter plainte contre elle deux ans plus tard pour diffamation, suite à la publication d'un livre, « Tweeter ou mourir », aux éditions Michalon, dans lequel Laura raconte ce qu'elle a enduré à ses côtés.Code source avait déjà consacré deux épisodes à Laura Rapp, l'un en 2019 et l'autre en 2020. Aujourd'hui, au terme d'un long combat judiciaire, Laura a 36 ans et elle voit enfin le bout du tunnel.
