People choose personal relationships and personal fulfillment over duty. Most often, they place the latter ahead of the former, which is why you see all these ridiculous posts on social media about “toxic relationships.”It's a big joke.I live among people who do not inhabit the same reality as I do.It used to frustrate me, but now I smile and move on, knowing that most people are not willing to make hard choices. They—and those who enable them—form Caesar's political base. The blind leading the blind.Scripture has taught me, the hard way, that I have no right to judge.Neither do others, yet we all persist in doing so.All of you should watch the Star Wars series Andor in full—it's just two seasons—and then watch Rogue One, and you'll understand what the writers of the New Testament were doing in the shadows of “empire.”Unlike the arrogant cowards sitting on the Rebel Council at Yavin IV, the biblical writers weren't building anything new to replace Rome or Jerusalem. They had no secret plans for a “new” Republic. The gospel was not a hero's journey or a strategy for institution-building under the protection of a solipsistic Jedi order, nor was it fighting for “freedom.” It was, however, about hope, against all hope.Rehear Galatians. The New Testament ends where it begins—with the sword of instruction wandering the earth in God's broad encampment, moving from place to place with an urgent message of permanent, perpetual rebellion:“Caesar is not the king!”Long before Paul, Jeremiah, too, had joined the Rebellion. He understood the price. Jeremiah was not James Dean. You cannot be a rebel unless you have a cause. Unless, of course, you, like most Americans I know, want to remain a teenager for the rest of your life.Adults, however, have to make a choice:“Cursed be the day when I was born; Let the day not be blessed when my mother bore me! Cursed be the man who brought the news to my father, saying, ‘A baby boy has been born to you,' and made him very happy.”(Jeremiah 20:14-15)This much I know:“Everything I do, I do for the Rebellion.”This week, I discuss Luke 8:28.Show Notesἀνακράζω (anakrazō) / ק-ר-א (qof–resh–aleph) / ق-ر-أ (qāf–rāʾ–hamza)Cry out. Read aloud.“When the three units blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers, they held the torches in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands for blowing, and shouted, ‘A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!'” (Judges 7:20)Gideon's story is part of the cyclical narrative structure that characterizes the Book of Judges. In this recurring pattern, Israel turns away from God and does evil, prompting God to give them into the hands of their enemies. In their suffering, the people cry out to God, who then raises up a deliverer—a judge—to rescue them. This deliverance brings a period of temporary peace until the cycle begins again. In the case of Gideon, Israel is oppressed by the Midianites. God chooses Gideon to lead a small and unlikely force, emphasizing that the victory is not the result of human strength but a demonstration of the Lord's power and faithfulness.“Then he cried out in my hearing with a loud voice, saying, ‘Come forward, you executioners of the city, each with his weapon of destruction in his hand!'” (Ezekiel 9:1 )In Ezekiel 8–11, the prophet is shown a vision of the abominations taking place in the Jerusalem temple, including idolatry, injustice, and ritual defilement. As a result of this widespread corruption, the glory of God departs from the temple. In chapter 9, the vision shifts from exposing sin to executing judgment. God summons six angelic executioners, each carrying a weapon and a seventh figure dressed in linen holding a writing kit. This scribe is instructed to mark the foreheads of those who mourn over the city's sins, while the others are commanded to kill the rest without mercy, beginning at the defiled sanctuary.“So the angel who was speaking with me said to me, “Proclaim, saying, ‘This is what the Lord of armies says: ‘I am exceedingly jealous for Jerusalem and Zion.'” (Zechariah 1:14 )προσπίπτω (prospiptō) / נ-פ-ל (nun-fe-lamed) / ن-ف-ل (nun-fa-lam)Fall upon, at, against; become known.“Then Esau ran to meet him and embraced him, and fell (יִּפֹּ֥ל yiffōlʹ) on his neck and kissed him, and they wept.” (Genesis 33:4)“And Esther spake yet again before the king, and fell (תִּפֹּ֖ל tiffōl) down at his feet, and besought him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his device that he had devised against the Jews.” (Esther 8:3)Esau suffered the consequences of tribal betrayal and familial treachery; Esther and her people faced annihilation under a lawfully decreed genocide. These parallels—illuminated by Luke's deliberate lexical choices—frame the demon-possessed man as a victim of Greco-Roman imperial oppression. In each case, the act of falling appears directed toward a human being when, in fact, it is the acceptance of Providence. This is the core teaching of the Abrahamic scrolls.Esther does not confront the king as a preacher or moral authority; she pleads with him, fully aware that she holds no power. You might say Esther was, in this instance, a functional Muslim. To fall is ultimately submission to divine authority—Esther, by entrusting herself to God's hidden providence, accepts that there is no King but God.Her only weapon against oppression, along with Esau and the demonic, was to fall prostrate, hoping against all hope in God's promise (in his absence), that:“Caesar is not the king!”نَفَّلَ (naffala) “he fell to his share” or “assigned as a share.”الْأَنْفَالُ لِلَّهِ وَالرَّسُولِ(al-anfālu lillāhi wa-l-rasūli)“The spoils are for God and the Apostle.”Surat al-Anfal 8:1(see also: κατεκλίθη)δέομαι (deomai) / ח-נ-ן (ḥet–nun–nun) / ح-ن-ن (ḥāʼ–nūn–nūn)Ask; pray; beg. Grace. Compassion, mercy, tenderness.“I also pleaded (אֶתְחַנַּ֖ן ʾěṯḥǎnnǎnʹ) with the Lord at that time, saying, ‘O Lord God, You have begun to show your servant your greatness and your strong hand; for what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do such works and mighty acts as yours? (Deuteronomy 3:23–24)“If you would seek God and implore (תִּתְחַנָּֽן tiṯḥǎnnānʹ) the compassion of the Almighty, if you are pure and upright, surely now he would rouse himself for you and restore your righteous estate.” (Job 8:5–6)The triliteral root ح-ن-ن (
Beginning immediately on the heels of Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025, the second season of the Disney+ streaming series Andor, now carrying the same A Star Wars Story subtitle as Rogue One, kicked off its four-week run with its first trio of episodes. The premiere and its title, "One Year Later," sets the framework for Season Two: as each "a movie a week" batch of three episodes brings us a year closer to Rogue One, several interweaving plots advance the characters arcs of Andor's expansive cast. On this episode of Hyperspace Theories podcast, Tricia Barr and B.J. Priester analyze the first story arc of Season Two by breaking down how each of the four subplots reveals more of the world-building and characterization that drive the story forward. We begin with Cassian Andor examining how his character has evolved since the events of Season One and the lessons he learns in his mission-gone-awry from a Sienar facility to the Yavin IV jungle to his fateful return to his Ferrix friends. The other major plotline features Mon Mothma and the ostentatious wedding for her daughter on Chandrila, which brings with it considerable interpersonal drama for the family and for the still-perilous groundwork for the burgeoning Rebellion. On Mina Rau, the Ferrix expatriates confront the iron grip of the Empire through the lens of unexpectedly timely themes of refugees, undocumented residents, and the risks of exploitation and oppression they face. Similar themes appear in the final subplot, the Imperial characters who shift from hunting rebels to plotting far greater atrocities on Ghorman, all the while planning to use propaganda and manipulation to conceal the truth. Along the way, we also discuss the color palette used in the costume design for these episodes. Deliberately recurring hues cutting across the storylines indicate important thematic parallels in more subtle visual ways – and also, perhaps, hint toward events to come in future episode arcs.

↫Story↬ (A HUGE thanks to Ahsoka-2Sabers for writing the story for this video! Check her out on Wattpad:https://www.wattpad.com/user/Ahsoka-2Sabers) …………… For many years, the Millennium Falcon was a home for two: her captain Han Solo and her co-pilot Chewbacca. After escaping the Death Star, four more passengers were entrusted to her care along with her crew. Safe from the TIE Fighters, Captain Solo joined Princess Leia in the cockpit. She listened to their banter with the warmth of a smile invisible in her software. As much as she loved the cockiness of her flyboy pilot, the quick wit of the princess made her instantly liked by the Falcon. After Han Solo irritated the girl as he often does, the Falcon remembered fondly, Luke Skywalker took her place in her cockpit. This is the second time the farm boy from Tatooine has been her passenger. She had developed a deep fondness for the adventure-hungry boy, a similar fondness she knew her captain felt for him. Casual thoughts on Alderaan's princess were exchanged between them. Their interactions were almost brotherly now, the Falcon realized as a warmth enveloped her that chased away the freezing cold of space. Han teased Luke as he prepped her for hyperspace, the familiar beeps of buttons interrupting the steady hum of the ship. All it took was for Solo to pull the lever and the Falcon burst into hyperspace. She loved watching the blue and white kaleidoscope zooming past her as she broke the speed of light. Most of all, she loved the safety of hyperspace. She knew that while in this vortex, her passengers were safe and protected within her. Weary of the excitement, her passengers used the precious hours of travel to relax. She knew her captain well. Han was walking around, checking up on her and making repairs wherever needed. The faint tinkering only added to the voice of the Falcon. R2-D2 beeped and whistled as he rolled around the ship. The Falcon had a special place in her care for the droids, machines such as herself. Every so often, Chewbacca released a low rumble in response to the droid or talking to her. She understood every growl and roar. Sometimes, the dejarik table flickered on at random, displaying holograms of odd creatures from every corner of the galaxy. She was old and some things didn't work as well as they once did. It was part of her charm and she wouldn't trade it for anything. A new sound became part of the Falcon's voice that day. In her lounge, Luke ignited his blue lightsaber and practiced the few moves Ben taught him in this very place. Despite the danger the glowing weapon was to her if the boy was not careful, the Falcon enjoyed watching Luke demonstrate the dueling techniques as if imagining himself as a lone hero in a great battle. She was honored to carry the last Jedi. Though Han was eager to leave all this behind him, she hoped the steady hum and snap hiss of the lightsaber was here to stay. Slowly, everything faded into stillness. Only the Millennium Falcon was awake now, the hum of her engine and the noises of her computers soothing her passengers in a ship's lullaby. She used to be the home to only two. But she was the only one who knew that had changed. She was home to six now, and she will protect them until she can fly no more. …………… ↫Connect With Me!↬ My Linktree (Containing my socials + Contact info + Idea submission forms + other awesome, free stuff!) https://linktr.ee/Kaila_Falcon …………… ↫Disclaimer↬ None of these sounds, songs or images used to make this are mine. Saluton! It is once again I, Tyson Saner. I'm still your host for this curated assortment of audio content from various locations around the globe and, if you are still listening, then I am still grateful and I wish you a warm "Welcome Back". If you are listening for the first time...then simply "Welcome." And glad you found us! We're brought to you this time around by Henderson's Pants Toddler Trau, the stylish pants for those who have just learned to walk. In this installment, I've got some interesting selections for you this episode. We've got clips from R U Talkin' R.E.M. RE: Me?, The Goon Cast, Unladylike, Food To Watch Films By, Pretending With Dice, and Unspooled. We've also got a double dose of raging moderate comedian and social commentator Will Durst's Burst O' Durst segments...in fact, we're leading the show off with our first of two B.O.D.'s… CLIPS Unspooled From the iTunes show description: Paul Scheer is a lifelong movie buff, but he's never seen many of the all time greats. On Unspooled, his team-up with film critic Amy Nicholson, he's remedying that by watching the AFI's top 100 movies of all time. On episode one, Paul and Amy jump straight into the AFIís number one film of all time, Citizen Kane. They explain why it was almost never released, take a closer listen to Orson Welles' innovative use of sound, and try to answer the big question: Is this really the best movie ever? Plus: an interview with a guest expert, cinematographer Steve Gainer, on why Citizen Kane looks so incredible. Pretending With DiceThe iTunes Show Description: Tabletop Gaming/RPG Podcast, hosted by Adam Johnston. Playing various RPG systems in short story-arcs and one-shots. Expect comedy, some strong language, and a lot of fun! (Adam Johnston previously had a soundcast called Sup Dude that he co-hosted with Nathan Taylor, which ran for 5 years, and whose end was announced just over a year ago, via Twitter, on May 19th, 2017.) His new Pretending With Dice has just began a new cycle of RPG goodness. Allow me to elucidate. Our clip is from Epi25, comprising an adventure entitled "Yavin Exodus". In the wake of their successful attack on the Death Star, the Rebel Alliance must evacuate their headquarters on the moon of Yavin IV, before Imperial reinforcements arrive. Alderaanian ex-smuggler Klyne is assigned to the flight crew of the freighter 'Close Encounter'. Kortez finds himself flying patrol with a talkative Sullustan, who tries his patience, and meanwhile, on Nubia, Ugnaught droid expert Thnock carries out a daring heist on an Imperial droid factory. Thrilling stuff! Unladylike What's going on in this soundcast? Hosts Cristen Conger and Caroline Ervin tackle questions through their trademark obsessive research, stories from rule-breakin' ladies and a solid dose of delightful feminist rage. This clip is from thier "How to Buy a Gun" episode, where they explore the fact that women overwhelmingly buy guns for self-defense, but statistics show guns escalate violence across the board. Cristen and Caroline talk with two firearms fans to find out how much that feeling of safety is worth — and what's at the root of women's fear. R U Talkin' R.E.M. RE: ME?Director Lance Bangs joins hosts Adam Scott and Scott Aukerman to discuss R.E.M.'s sixth studio album "Green". They get into talk about R.E.M.'s partial reunion in Portland, when Lance first heard of the band, and how Lance began to know the band and start collaborating with them. Plus, Scott and Scott tell us a little bit more about themselves on an episode of "Talkin' 'Bout Me." Food To Watch Films By Join hosts Johnny, Adam, and Pablo on their experiential voyage through the combination of food and films. (As it says on iTunes: "DISCLAIMER: Some foods suggested may not be safe for human consumption, or even legal for that matter. You have been warned...") IN their reality, the world was wiped out at the beginning of the year, apparently, and this clip comes from a "found footage-style episode" where the boys take us their their review of some films of 2018 that were - to them - never released. Movies in clude 'The Commuter', 'Mary Poppins Returns', and 'Day of the Dead: Bloodline'. Look, I don't explain the clips, I just play 'em. The Goon CastA show featuring New York-based standup comics from around the city, The Goon Cast is hosted by Billy, Joe, and Jay Mac. They're joined in the episode we clipped by comic Jesse Eigner, and they cover a lot of topics - from Harry Potter and Jesse's new allergy, to New York politics and America's draft picks. Our snippet touches on just a fraction of it all. And just like that, the show is done. I hope you leave this listening experience with at least one new idea of where to listen next when you wish to get your audio fix. I'm off to rustle up some more clips from soundcasts Ive recently heard of, soundcasts Ive known of for a while, and soundcasts I have yet to discover. Maybe even something that's been featured before because...why not? I'd greatly appreciate it if you might visit www.succotashshow.com or even www.tysonsaner.com if you've any interest in any of the other things I've created during this life. And, of course, I'd like to thank you for being here and if you have any interest in the continuation of this free soundcast I would most gratefully and gently urge you to please pass the Succotash. — Tyson Saner

Star Wars - Edge of the Empire > The Path of the MaskWhen an archaeological site is unearthed on Yavin IV, The rumor mill starts going wild about what the Empire has found. Welcome to episode 41.5 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: Kindred and Crawler Commandeers. On this Scoundrel's Special Edition, Jay, Dennis, and Darth Taxus discuss the Rebels' recovery of the hypderdrive and their escape from the Empire and the impending attack on Lothal. First, they start with "Kindred." When Ezra, Zeb, and Jai Kell attempt a recovery of the hyperdrive, Thrawn's Noghri agent Rukh tracks them down and attacks. Even though they get the hypderdrive to Hera, they still face Imperial pursuit. That is when Governor Pryce sends in the TIE bombers and the loth-wolves show up. Once they escape the Empire with the aid of the wolves, Ezra, Kanan, Zeb, and Sabine need a way of contacting Hera and the Rebellion High Command in "Crawler Commandeers." Although the Empire jammed transmission off the surface, Sabine finds a local contact. Upon investigating, they discover an ore crawler with a communications array that might just solve their problems. However, a Trandoshan captain and foreman stand in their way. Plus, Vizago, their scoundrel friend, is aboard. Meanwhile, on Yavin IV, Hera campaigns for an attack on the TIE Defender factory on Lothal. The discussion in this episode includes the abilities of the Loth-Wolves and their connection to Kanan and the planet, Kanan and Hera's growing relationship, Hera's interaction with the Rebel High Command, and Rukh's appearance. Who was pleased by this episode and who wanted more? Jay, Dennis, and Taxus discuss this and more in this Scoundrel's Special Edition. Hey there! Quick change we need to talk about! We're gonna stop having these E-Ew episodes as bonus ones, because Riley is lame and has a job and can't find the time to edit two a week sometimes. BUT HAVE NO FEAR! We'll still be talking about all the silly books we're reading, they'll just be on the regular schedule. Now with that podgrooming out of the way, get ready for the Jedi Prince himself! Join the boyz as they talk about the Second Book in Book One of the Sextuplet Series comprised of Two Books, The Lost City of the Jedi! Might we learn secrets regarding characters in the upcoming Last Jedi? Perhaps we discover the truth about Supreme Prophet Kadann? Maybe we discover a species that only speaks in rhymes? Looking forward to watching those Death Watch Mandalorian episodes especially after watching… Rebels: Legacy of Mandalore, which we talk about a bit, hopefully without spoiling too much for people who haven’t seen it yet. We loved the episode and are all curious to see where it goes from here. Force Arena has been supplying me with a ton of fun (maybe too much fun). The awesomely diverse Rogue One characters all end in death. Is that problematic? NEWS [19:30] It’s the attack of Force Friday II! And our first image of the big three from The Last Jedi. There’s a new book coming out. It’s called… Inferno Squad! Much like the cover image, my opinion of this book is not final. Jimmy Vee is the new R2-D2! (This episode was recorded before the Han Solo casting news dropped, but we still talked about how a new generation of actors are starting to take over, but that it’s great that they have had a chance to work with the original actors.) As always, please check out our show guide for links and photos and all that good stuff: https://childrenoftheforce.com/2016/11/09/episode-50-50/First we take a trip down memory lane and talk about some of the stuff we did on our very first episode. Then… STAR WARSY STUFF [7:00] Amy’s kids and Nick both answer our question about their scariest moment in Star Wars. Liam is working on his Star Wars Stickman comic. He’s finished issue 1 and is working on issue 2. I saw Doctor Strange in IMAX 3D over the weekend, which means I got to also see the Rogue One trailer in IMAX 3D. It was epic. The kids’ grandma knows what’s up with Rogue One. WHAT’S THAT SOUND? [15:15] How did they make the sound of Han slicing the Tauntaun open? NEWS [17:30] Donald Glover is the young Lando in the Han Solo standalone. Which means Lando is going to be in the Han Solo standalone! Daisy Ridley sort of said that we’ll find out about Rey’s parents in Episode VIII. Gary Whitta on Twitter showed us the Mexican poster for Rogue One, which gives us a good view of Yavin IV. CANON NEWS [23:15] They play Crokinole in Star Wars! This game has some deep personal meaning to me and I’m so happy to read all about Ahsoka playing it with friends in the new Ahsoka novel. JOKE [30:50]An oldie, but a goodie knock knock joke: “Knock Knock” “Who’s there?”“Art.” “Art who?” “R2-D2”Q&A COUNCIL [31:50]We rank all Star Wars movies from favorite to least favorite. We also revisit our rankings from the past. Liam thinks that when Rogue One comes out, it will be at the top of our lists. “It is going to be great. It’s going to be awesome.”STUMP THE LUMP! [49:30]Liam tries and succeeds in stumping me by asking a nearly impossible question about the name of the blaster on the top of the snow speeder we pretty much never see in The Force Awakens.SHOUTOUTS [53:50]Shout out to all who’ve been there with us so far and all who will be there with us in the future!OUTRO [57:35] Please, feel free to connect with us in any of the following ways: Leave us a voicemail: https://www.speakpipe.com/ChildrenoftheForce Twitter: @forcechildren Facebook: Children of the Force Email: forcechildren@gmail.com Website: www.childrenoftheforce.comThrow us some cash on Patreon at: https://www.patreon.com/childrenoftheforceThanks for listening, and may the Force be with you!
"Star Wars: Rogue One" trailer analysis - Nope, Jason, John, Serenity, and Dan aren’t going to analyze the trailer for “Star Wars: Rogue One.” It’s not going to happen. It would take rebel podcasters, striking from a hidden studio, to bring this podcast to its knees… Host Antony Johnston with Lizbeth Myles, Chip Sudderth and Moisés Chiullan.
