360 Degree Performance Appraisals have been around for a while. The process of getting feedback not only from your boss, but also your co-workers, subordinates, etc., makes sense. However, no matter how many people point out our flaws, if we don’t accept it, we find a way to convince ourselves it’s just not true. Today, with so much of our work interactions happening via Zoom, we might have a new feedback mechanism...The Zoom Playback Opportunity. Record your Zoom meeting, watch it back later, and analyse your behaviours and interactions. That kinda takes the 360 Degree Appraisal to a whole new level. nb: Thanks Phil for the inspiration on this one. #zoommeetings #performanceappraisal #selfawareness

Driving to the Phil & Sebastian coffee shop located in the basement of the old Simmons Building reminded me of how long I have been away from Calgary. The cafe (or barista) has real charm and character. I truly appreciated learning the origin stories behind an #iconic #Calgary brand that literally did not exist when I last resided in Calgary. This episode means a lot for me. Startupfest 2016 was a place where I met a lot people that are now friends & business partners. Phil Telio, his team and the volunteers make the Startupfest the best festival about technology and business in Montreal. The first interview I did (30 secs video) was with Phil and even though he was so busy he accepted to answer a few questions. Phil is one of the reasons that I start doing podcasting. Thanks Phil. --- Philippe Telio is an entrepreneur and founder of the Startupfest. Startupfest is a series of international conferences on the business of startups. The flagship event in Montreal brings together industry veterans and fresh faces, thought leaders and technology giants from around the world, for a series of lean, fast-paced events. It includes startup launches, inspiring keynotes, and deep-dives into hot sectors like mobility, social networking, and gaming. Startupfest also host The Elevator World Tour, elevator pitch competitions in the worlds most spectacular elevators. Completed cities include: Toronto's CN Tower, Tel Aviv's Azrieli Tower and Paris' iconic Eiffel Tower. Something really different this week, as for 18 Q's the only thing we are asking is, what do we want to win in this Oscar category? Not what we think will win, because that will be totally different, but what we personally would like to see win. And while there's 24 categories at the Oscars, we only picked the ones that we felt qualified (HA!) to answer. But we wouldn't be our show if we didn't have 20 Q's, so we also asked what other film, and performance, should have been nominated. Then as a bonus we went through our Patreon's questions, applying them to the Oscars. Thanks Phil, Emily, and Julio! Wanna join them and help shape the show? Well you can join them here: www.patreon.com/mritqs Emily also has her own podcast, which you can find here: https://www.tastelesspod.com/ As does Julio! Gene on Earth - It's a Good Day to Have a Good Day 4. Johanna Knutsson - Unreleased Work 5. DJ Apologetic - Time (Live) 6. Frank Bretschneider - live recorded excerpt of 'Approximate Accuracy' an audio visual installation piece in collaboration with Pierce Warnecke for the ISM Hexadome recorded live in April 2018 at the Martin Gropius Bau. 7. Jing - Coral Reef 8. Pariah - Seed Bank 9. Peter van Hoesen - live recorded excerpt of 'Adaptive Enquiry No. 1' an audio visual installation piece in collaboration with Heleen Blanken for the ISM Hexadome in April 2018 at the Martin Gropius Bau 10. Mea - Rosa 11. Jason Fellows - Ooosh A combination of tunes from friends and acquaintances all in the direction of ambient and beatless type affairs. There's also two live recordings taken from the 52 channel audio visual installation series the ISM Hexadome which took place in March and April of 2018 in the atrium of the Martin Gropius Bau. More info on the ISM here - http://berlin-ism.com/. Saw Pariah at Free Rotation and it was definitely one of the highlights of the festival. He's, coincidentally, just released an ambient album too, so thought i'd throw that in there. Listen ideally on headphones, particularly the live recordings since they are binaural recordings - you'll get a better sense of the spatialisation as both Peter and Frank's work were programmed to play through the 52 channel speak system that we, the ISM, helped develop in partnership with ZKM, Pfadfinderei, System180 and Meyer Sound.

I made this song out of pure excitement, joy, appreciation, and without expectation just messing around with my new controller that Phil Matthewson gave me. It turned out to be quite an inducer of deep thoughts and self introspection. Thanks Phil!
It’s Day 158 of Bath Time! Courtesy of Bath Time regular Phil Setton, today’s topic is “Why you could never be in the Olympics. Or could you? No. You couldn’t.” Thanks Phil! Paul explores what it takes to become an elite athlete and why he never bothered. Also he ponders the true size of ISIS. It’s all a numbers game.
