One of the top three wines I had this past year was a 2020 Burn Cottage Vineyard Pinot Noir. I stumbled upon it by accident while hunting at the @LCBO and immediately feel love. Located in the famed Central Otago wine region in South Island New Zealand, this winery has been producing elite Pinot for ages. My interview is one of the people responsible for these wines, winemaker Clair Mulholland!
There's concerns the figures given on Government health targets don't give the whole picture. Numbers on cancer treatment access, childhood immunisation, ED stays and wait times improved in the latest quarter. But Patient Voice Aotearoa's Malcolm Mulholland says the data doesn't reflect things like when patients leave ED. He says there are also questions around the cancer target - which asks for 90 percent of patients to start treatment within 31 days of deciding it'll happen. "Many oncologists would say - that's the wrong metric, the right metric is from the date of diagnosis to the date you are first seen by a specialist." Jarvio, the Dublin start-up that puts an AI operator behind every Amazon storefront, has raised €1.5 million in pre-seed funding. Backers include senior executives from Amazon, Target, Wayflyer, Meta and MongoDB; Brian Caulfield and HBAN angel investors; and institutional investors Darius Cubed, Baseline VC, Enterprise Ireland, NDRC and an Accel Scout Fund. The funding will accelerate engineering hires, automation development and U.S. expansion. It follows strong traction in Jarvio's private beta, where more than 650 brands have joined the waitlist in recent months. Rick Kelley, HBAN angel investor, said, "I'm delighted to support the Jarvio team who are helping businesses overcome the friction that comes with enabling e-commerce on Amazon, the largest platform in the world. As Amazon continues to be on nearly every phone in the western world, Jarvio will help merchants drive success." The journey began with Jake Ryan and Connor Mulholland, who met at University College Dublin and later launched a boutique Amazon agency after flipping everything from plastic dinosaurs to 12,000 candles during the pandemic. After years of manually solving the same operational challenges for clients, they realised the answer wasn't more services -it was smarter software. "eCommerce brands shouldn't have to juggle dashboards or get buried in fragmented tools just to grow," said Ryan, co-founder and CEO. " Jarvio gives teams their time back and lets them focus on what really matters, growing the business, not managing the chaos." The pain point is clear: most Amazon merchants rely on a maze of disconnected apps to run their business - wasting time, obscuring data, stalling scale, and driving up staffing costs. Jarvio offers a new model. More than just an Amazon tool, it acts as the hub for your entire eCommerce operation. It integrates with everything from marketplace software to Gmail, Slack, and task managers - bringing all your operations and workflows into one place. No more switching tabs or stitching together tools. Just one prompt-driven interface to run your business. "We're not building another tool to put in the box of eCommerce tools," Mulholland added. "We're building the box." In 2024, JD O'Hea joined as co-founder and CTO to chart Jarvio's AI roadmap. With deep expertise in AI, machine learning, and eCommerce, O'Hea set out a technical vision for a platform designed to redefine how eCommerce brands operate. Alongside founding engineer Joseph Tummon, they kicked off development of what's now Jarvio's AI foundation. Since then, the team has built relentlessly: through late nights in Dogpatch Labs, a stint in a San Francisco hacker house, and now, as part of the NDRC Accelerator and with €1.5m in fresh funding, they're scaling Jarvio into the operating system for modern eCommerce. Today, we are covering an important topic today, but maybe not in the way you expect. I'm joined by Rachel Mulholland (aka Shug CM), a therapist whom I met on TikTok because of her incredible content around sex education for children. Today's focus is on how our lives as adults are impacted if we don't get comprehensive sex education as children. Join us for the conversation! Show Highlights: How KC's story from her teenage years illustrates the gaps that most people have in their education about sex and the fact that sex ed is NOT a one-time conversation How “purity culture” is impacting teenagers in certain places in the US in damaging ways How even most comprehensive sex ed doesn't address the pleasurable side of sex–and (for females) that the pleasure doesn't have to come from another person How sexual predators take advantage of the lack of information in sex ed from SAFE places Why parents have real fear about talking to their kids about sex ed The effects of NOT educating kids that sex and pleasure don't always go together Rachel's Four Pillars of Safe Sex: confirmation, communication, lubrication, and enthusiastic participation Why parents should be aware when their kids are ready to hear and learn–and begin at the most basic level appropriate for their age How to answer those first little-kid questions around, “Where do babies come from?” Why curiosity is a foundational part of body talk for kids–not just around sexuality How parents can work through their own feelings around sex ed with their children Why Rachel's next project is a book about body talk Resources: Connect with Rachel: TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Website (coming soon!) William Mulholland was summoned to the St. Francis Dam in San Francisquito Canyon early March 12, 1928, to inspect some leaks that workers found worrisome. Mulholland shrugged off the concerns and declared the dam -- the 19th he'd designed alone to feed water to the parched desert of Los Angeles -- perfectly safe. Hours later, the dam gave way, releasing billions of gallons of water downstream, killing more than 400 people. Thom Francis introduces us to Poetic License and three poets - Megeen Mulholland, Charlie Rossiter, and Jennifee – who shared their work at the first exhibit reading in 2022 at the Art Associates Gallery in Albany. “Ekphrastic art” is defined as the response of an artist in one medium to a work of art by an artist in another medium. Its more common manifestation is in poetry written about visual art, e.g., paintings, photographs, drawings, sculpture. Poetic License is a project that turns that around, giving local visual artists an opportunity to respond to the work of poets. In 2022, inspired by a project created by the Poetry Barn in West Hurley, NY & the Arts Society of Kingston (ASK), the Hudson Valley Writers Guild and the Upstate Artists Guild created their own version of this project which they called Poetic License – Albany. 113 individual poems were submitted by 62 poets; ultimately, 18 works of visual art were exhibited at the Art Associates Gallery & at Lark Hall in Albany, with 3 readings held in conjunction with the exhibits. The Hudson Valley Writers Guild & the Upstate Artists Guild are excited to work together again to present this opportunity in 2025 for collaboration between poets and visual artists in the Capital District. For more information on the Poetic License project, go to https://www.poeticlicensealbany.com/

Suzanne Mulholland aka The Batch Lady has become a household name thanks to her simple (and delicious) meals that can be made in advance to make sure there's always an answer to that question 'what's for dinner?'. But Suzanne didn't come to this through her love of cooking- quite the opposite. After working in the city as a time management guru for many years, Suzanne turned her organisational skills to family life when her own children came along. She decided that coming up with and cooking dinner from scratch every night wasn't for her, but she still wanted to provide delicious, healthy food for her family, so she started batching. The parents at school asked how Suzanne did it, she shared this through a charity batch cooking evening, and the response was such that Suzanne decided to share it more widely, and started The Batch Lady. But it wasn't all plain sailing. Many of her friends thought she was crazy to put herself out on social media, but she had big dreams and it was an essential step to help achieve them. Fast forward to now, and her fifth book has just hit the shelves (it's BRILLIANT), as well as her first TV series, Batch from Scratch, which she presents with Joe Swash. To find out more about Suzanne, see www.thebatchlady.com. To grab your copy of You've Got This, head to Amazon or Bloomsbury

As many of you know, I came up in this industry through nightlife. In the early 2000's, nightlife was defined by prolific nightclubs that burned red-hot, only to close six months later. But that wasn't the story for Jamie Mulholland. For more than two decades, Jamie has built brands that last, like Cain and Goldbar. Today we sit down to discuss his latest project, Ketchy Shuby, and the elements he's infused into the concept to ensure that it lasts decades as well. For more information on Ketchy Shuby, visit https://ketchyshubynyc.com/. ________________________________________________________ Full Comp is brought to you by Yelp for Restaurants: In July 2020, a few hundred employees formed Yelp for Restaurants. It's been a season of transitions, with both endings and new beginnings. I've been fortunate to travel all over the world this year, including Greece, Croatia, Portugal, Ireland, and Aruba. After a period of constant movement, it feels good to know that I'll be home for most of the time moving forward. The crazy travel is coming to an end, at least for now. My birthday just passed, marking my 47th trip around the sun. 47 years old! Another new beginning. Wow! Remember when that used to feel old? Well, not anymore. There have also been some significant beginnings and endings in my corporate work. While I won't dive into the details, I've found that transitions in work can stir up emotions too. I'm sharing this because it's important to acknowledge that we bring our whole selves to work. When things are in a state of flux, it's okay to feel excited, sad, worried, frustrated—whatever feels right for you at the moment. My guest today, Jennifer Mulholland, joins me for a conversation on a much-needed topic—what it means to practice Conscious Leadership. As the memes say, anyone can be a manager, but it takes radical honesty, self-awareness, a sense of responsibility for ourselves and our people, a willingness to put in the work, and so much more to truly be a leader.During our conversation, Jennifer and I discussed:The story behind Jennifer co-founding Plenty ConsultingWhat ThetaHealing is, and how it's similar and different from ReikiHow Jennifer integrates both the practical and the spiritual in her work with individual clients, groups, and corporationsWhy passion—what gets us up in the morning—is so important to JenniferHer book, Leading with Light: Choosing Conscious Leadership When You're Ready for More, and the four lights of conscious leadershipHow surrender plays a crucial role in Conscious Leadership

Few stories in the world of technology and entrepreneurship demonstrate resilience, constantly reinventing technology and lessons learned from hard-fought battles better than that of Greg Mulholland, founder of Citrine Informatics. Greg's story is a valuable resource for entrepreneurs facing similar challenges in building a lasting company in an old-line industry like chemicals and materials. Citrine has attracted funding from top-tier investors like DRIVE Catalyst, Innovation Endeavors, DCVC (Data Collective), and Universal Materials Incubator.
