Jordan Peterson sits down with actor, podcaster, and commentator Russell Brand. They discuss turning to Christ, the benefits of orienting yourself toward a proper center (rather than centering yourself), how Donald Trump has shaken up the world stage, and what it means to cross the “edgelands” and make it back alive. Russell Brand is an English comedian, actor, activist, podcaster and commentator. He first established himself as a stand-up comedian and radio host before becoming a film actor. He presented for MTV UK and made appearances across media and TV (including a stint on “Big Brother”) throughout the 2000s. In 2008, he leapt from British to U.S. film acting, appearing in the hit film “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” followed by numerous international successes. In 2013, Brand guest-edited an edition of the weekly publication the New Statesman, launching his interest and later career as a political activist and commentator. Over the years, Brand has changed in his thinking, from establishment advocate to establishment critic. His current podcast, “Stay Free,” sees Brand calling out major news, governments, and corporations for affronts to free speech, expression, and thought. This episode was filmed on January 10th, 2025.  | Links | For Russell Brand: On X https://x.com/rustyrockets?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor On YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@RussellBrand On Rumble https://rumble.com/c/russellbrand

Today, I'm joined by Sharon and Lauretta – better known as The Gavin Sisters – an acclaimed comedy duo who've graced TV and stage, written sitcoms for television, and penned plays for the West End.But behind the laughter, their lives took a devastating turn. Sharon was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease that left her unable to walk, losing her hair, and trapped in a toxic relationship. At the same time, Lauretta's world fell apart when she discovered her husband was living a double life—while she was six months pregnant. Together, they hit rock bottom. But instead of breaking, they rebuilt. In this powerful conversation, the Gavin Sisters share how they turned their darkest moments into a new beginning. They broke free from drinking and takeaways, embraced radical lifestyle changes, and supported each other as single mums. Doctors told Sharon she'd be unwell and on medication for life—but they couldn't have been more wrong.Determined to take control of her health, the sisters overhauled their lives. Lauretta retrained as a natural vegan chef, and together, they swapped red wine, sugar, and processed food for nutrient-packed meals. Sharon's recovery has been nothing short of remarkable. Now, they run The Detox Barn wellness retreat, host a hit podcast, and have even launched their own product, Funki Coffee. Join me, Mark Walsh, for a deep dive into meaning-making, taken from The Embodiment Festival in January 2025. In this session, I explore why so many of us feel lost in modern life and why meaning seems to be slipping through our fingers. We'll tackle the big questions—how did we get here? Why are birth rates plummeting? Why does hedonism leave us empty? And what did Nietzsche mean when he said, “God is dead”? I'll unpack the four horsemen of the meaning apocalypse—nihilism, narcissism, consumerism, and distraction—and why so many people today struggle to find purpose. But it's not all doom and gloom. I'll also share practical solutions for reconnecting with what really matters—your body, your community, nature, and a deeper sense of purpose. Whether you're questioning everything or just looking for a fresh perspective, this session will challenge your thinking and (hopefully) offer a way forward. ------------------------------------------------------ Check out our YouTube channel for more coaching tips and our Podcast channel for full episode videos Uplevel your coaching with a free copy of Mark's latest eBook, The Top 12 Embodiment Coaching Techniques  Join Mark for those juicy in-person workshops and events Fancy some free coaching demo sessions with Mark?  Connect with Mark Walsh on Instagram  --------------------------------------------------------- As a thanks for being a loyal listener, we're sharing a cheeky discount code for $100 OFF our most popular Certification of Embodiment Coaching course:  CEC100PODCAST More info here: https://embodimentunlimited.com/cec/

Welcome to the new season of Musings. As you've likely noticed from the artwork, Musings is taking a new direction — we're broadening our horizons to consider the idea of "wellbeing" as a whole. What does it mean to be truly "well," physically, mentally, and emotionally?  In this first episode, Charlie Bresler swaps his host chair for the guest chair, and long-time friend and colleague Stacey Black is asking the questions.  Stacey and Charlie discuss the new direction for Musings — the idea of pursuing wellbeing as a whole — and how what Charlie has termed "effective hedonism" plays into his sense of wellness. Also self-confidence, self-efficacy, ideals, pleasure, and conscience all can have roles to play in our ultimate sense of wellbeing. Stacey and Charlie also discuss Charlie's new project, EH Walkers, and how it's a great example of marrying personal pleasure with your values to truly get the most wellbeing bang for your buck.  Musing on Wellbeing is sponsored by EH Walkers. It is hedonism day in the US, with the release of August retail sales data. Two limits to the data. This is a value measure, and US goods prices have been falling for four months now. This underrepresents consumption at a time when people are still favoring fun over goods. Instagram reels of holidays and congealing restaurant meals cost money (and of that spending, only the congealing restaurant meals are captured in retail sales).
