Thimble Island Brewing Company, one of Connecticut's most well-known breweries, will be closing its doors later this month. After initially opening in 2012, the Branford brewery will shut down May 24th. For a booming industry in the last decade, I want to know if such a beloved place doing local brewing right closing the doors for good is a sign of the time or a shift in the industry interest? On this episode of Pints & Putts we have the pleasure of sitting down with the color blind brewer himself, Jake Derosia. Jake Derosia is the founder & owner of Color Blind Artisanal Ales, one of Connecticut's newest breweries. Jake is also the quality control manager at Thimble Island Brewing Company. We had an absolute blast chatting with Jake about being a craft brewer, and had the chance to enjoy both of his beer's, Dilated Eyes, and Depth Perception, a hazy New England IPA, and a hazy New England Double IPA. Jake is also an avid golfer, and competes in tournaments as an amateur golfer.
