This week… The Friday night lights and the buzz of the fast approaching 2025 NFL Draft had Kärel and Max hyped! They planned heavily for the NFL Draft. They got Andy on the phone and discussed their goals for what to do during the Draft. Kärel's determined to see McAfee and all the Draft has to offer, Andy wants to soak it all in and Max is more worried about who the Packers will draft in the 7th round. Either way they'll be there for it all! They bought a couple of mini mics to record around Lambeau and maybe get some interviews! Andy will be in the Studio with the fellas next Wednesday to finalize their draft plans and do a mock draft. Max and Kärel ended it talking sh!t. Max is trying to plan for an open mic in a few weeks. They discussed why they keep doing this dumb show even if only 5 people listen. But before any of the nonsense, they saved the best for first, with the Beer of the Week! During the BOW the fellas rate and review a new beer. They discuss the history of the brewery and examine what's in the beer they're drinking. Then, they break down the beer by its drinkability, the probability they'd drink it again, its chugability, and the can's attractability. Find out if Southern Tier Brewing Company's Early Bird Blackberry Lemonade Ale passed the HUA test.Beer of the Week: 18:11 - 57:30Draft Planning w/ Andy O!: 58:26 - 03:25:40Sh!t Talking: 03:26:00 - ENDBOW: Southern Tier Brewing Company, Early Bird Blackberry Lemonade AleCOW: n/aHUA 184 Drinking game: whenever they mention Pat McAfee or Dan Patrick, drink! A brewery's trademark and its subsequent labels are its identity and protecting that involves many steps that involve beverage lawyers, government agencies, keeping tabs on other breweries and so much more. Today we speak to three guests with an eye on trademark protection, homage/parody vs. intellectual property theft and the legal ramifications of what happens when the judicial system has to get involved. After postponing shows and tours when Covid hit, they decided to take that time to get to work on new music and come out swinging in 2022. With their first EP, Fatal Strand, out now they aren't stopping any time soon. They plan to release three more EP's this year alone, so you won't be waiting long for new music from them!" What Afterdusk are drinking: "Chris doesn't really drink beer, Corey is more of a whiskey guy, and Jeff will pretty much drink anything you put in front of him (although his go-to beer is Yuengling, and he also loves Crown) Matt, on the other hand, well I'll let him tell you: “I'm a big stout and porter guy. I tried a bunch of light beers when I was younger and I just thought they all tasted horrible haha no hate for those that drink light beers. They just aren't for me. Believe it or not the first beer I ever tried and really enjoyed was Guinness haha I'm told I'm kinda weird for that though apparently. One of my favorites is a beer called “Gotta Get Up To Get Down” it's a cream coffee stout from Wiseacre Brewing co. based out of Memphis TN. I'm a huge coffee nerd so this is right up my ally. I've also been drinking a lot of the chocolate porter from Yuengling lately as well. ALSO, though it's not a porter or a stout, I have to shoutout Pumpking by Southern Tier Brewing Company. This beer is freaking delicious, and it will knock you on your ass if you're not careful haha. That 9% ABV can sneak up on you cos it just straight up tastes like pumpkin pie and that's very dangerous for me.” This week's Beer Breakdown include Independence Brewing Co's Stash IPA (Todd's Pick) and Platform Beer Co's Strawberry Cheesecake Porter (Arie's Pick). It's a little late for Christmas, though, so this is the New Year's Eve edition. The lads cover a multitude of subjects, including No Time To Die, Dune, Hawkeye, Spider Man: No Way Home (obliquely), whether Siri is ever off, and others. And as for the list of beers this year, we have 11 beers and a whiskey! Sean sampled Killer Intellect, Razzmello, and Passaic Porter by the Ross Brewing Company, and Christmas Bomb by Prairie Artisan Ales. Andrew sampled City Light by 5 Boroughs Brewing, Guava Gose by Collective Arts Brewing, Pumpkin Ale by Saranac Brewery, and Red Breast Irish Whiskey, by Irish Distillers. Tomo sampled Freezin Season by Flying Dog Brewery, Old Man Winter by Southern Tier Brewing Company, The Abominable Snowbeer by Defiant Brewing Company, and Trois Pistoles by Unibroue. Another marathon completed, and we hope this episode gets you guys in the mood for the New Year's festivities, and we hope you'll try some of these delectable beverages while partying. In episode 187, "I'm Thinking of Overthinking Things", Tony & Eddie gather around a heavy, existential wallop of a film - I'm Thinking of Ending Things (2020). Director Charlie Kaufman might not be on everyone's radar. He might not be everyone's cup of tea - but he's certainly a pro at making his visions visceral, poignant and powerful. This movie takes viewers on a ride through a single long night in the narrator's twisted world. There's animated pigs, movies within movies, dance numbers and lots and lots of silence. Driven mostly by weighty dialogue, the sense of dread and tension and finality delivered here are something like you've probably never experienced - but is it something you'd enjoy? Tune in this week as the boys try to figure out just that. Also on the episode, were two new beers of course. One delightfully fruity milkshake IPA from Southern Tier Brewing Company and one powerful rum barrel-aged pumpkin ale from Erie Brewing Company. Did you love it? Maybe you're just a huge fan of Bryce Dallas Howard or Chris Pratt and you couldn't care less about the plot of this flick. Regardless of what camp you fall in - we've got a great one for you. There's also some highs and lows with the beers this week. We've got a Pumking variant on one side, and an intensely fruity sour beer on the other. If you like Southern Tier Brewing Company or Hitchhiker Brewing - you won't want to miss these beer reviews.

We love a movie that starts out with an F bomb, but we wonder about a movie that ends with a run to...the Canadian border? Gabe and Jeff delve into the expensive world of digital SLR cameras and engage in a semi-factual discussion about how they use them and where their iPhone comes in to take over the job. Since there is a chill in the air on the East Coast of the United States, they crack open an Imperial Pumking by Southern Tier Brewing Company. Fighting through a deep disdain for most spiced Fall seasonals, they were both pleasantly surprised by how balanced and tasty Southern Tier's offering was. 00:00:00 - This week we start off with the sort of and work our way back to science. Dr. Gregory Benford has some ideas for how we could terraform the moon to make it more like Florida (in terms of climate, not all that other weirdness). The Russians have announced plans for a permanent moon-base so they should probably be taking notes or talking with the citizens of Whittier, AK, the town that all lives in one building together.   00:25:38 - It's a stereotype that Russian enjoy a drink, is the stereotype the same for scientists? If not, maybe it should be, because on this show we do. Patrick has a porter from Southern Tier Brewing Company, even though he still has a problem with their name. Ryan has a Deliria, a beer made by women but drinkable by anyone. After forgetting to ask what Abe is having, we learn that it's an unpronounceable Icelandic thing anyways. Thanks a lot, Abe.   00:33:06 - Former guest of the show Jacquelyn Gill would like us to stop calling horses in North America invasive. She presents some really solid arguments that are eventually discussed once the hosts can stop getting distracted. Things we get distracted talking about: eating horse, tiny deer from Florida, beefalo, Kristen Schaal (a noted horse) and an app to tell you about your fish. We are also very proud to announce the first ever Patrick Wheatley Inaugural Horse Poll. You can participate below and await its return with baited breath.   01:05:56 - paleoPOWs are a lot like wild horses, they look like docile one, but can still bite and kick you in the head. Patrick is excited to thank Stacey A. for her new recurring donation. Thanks, Stacey! Ryan has an e-mail from Ali in MO who is listening to the all the episodes backwards. This somehow prompts a discussion of emoticons vs. emoji, which Ryan doesn't understand because he's an old man. Finally, Abe has an e-mail from Luke J. whose actually done some climbing science, which is of interest to those of who climb (2/3 of the hosts at the very least).     Thanks for listening and be sure to check out the Brachiolope Media Network for more great science podcasts!     Music for this week's show: Moonage Daydream - David Bowie Pretty Good At Drinkin' Beer - Billy Currington Flying Horses - Dispatch

00:00:00 - Boeing has just broken the record for hypersonic flight with the X-51A Wavereider. It's a cool concept and totally not going to be used for weapons until it's used for weapons in which case it will in fact be weaponized. To tell us all about this breakthrough we brought in Joe Batwinis, who along with Jacob have a new podcast in our network called Technically Speaking. You will enjoy it, we promise. 00:23:26 - Drinks sometimes get technical, depending how long the guys let Ryan talk before cutting him off. Patrick is not shocked to learn that Ryan has already had a Phin & Matt's Extraordinary Ale from Southern Tier Brewing Company. Ryan tries something different with some HopHead Vodka from Anchor Distilling Company. Joe makes up for his Pepsi Max with some foley artistry. And Jacob is nursing some Jameson on the rocks from his newly built bar. 00:35:22 - This week's Trailer Trash Talk has a truly heated discussion about the upcoming robots-punching kaiju summer blockbuster, Pacific Rim. 00:48:49 - Patrick was fascinated to learn that there are an infinite number of paired primes. But the real question is, why are primes so fascinating in the first place? 01:03:39 - PaleoPOWs are a lot like prime numbers, hard to predict and seemingly without a pattern. Joe initiates himself with a Facebook post from William J. who is working his way through the back catalog in an attempt to catch up. Ryan has a new recurring donation from Scott D. Thanks, Scott! Jacob has a long e-mail from upset Swede Joakim W., but who was generous enough to provide all the music for this week's show via his recording project Alpha Mound. Thanks, Joakim!
