In the first of two US election specials Pie (Tom Walker) is tackling the thorny issue of democracy and is quickly derailed. As he takes his usual balanced (not) approach to the US presidential candidates Jules (Lucy Pearman) dangles a juicy carrot. There's a big gig in the offing; if only he can stop ranting about one of the candidates. Can you guess which one? Written and performed by Tom Walker. I recently was exposed to a style of stand up comedy that I didn't know existed. A man took to the stage and played multiple characters in a series of sketches, combining impressions, acting, absurdism, satire, surrealism, and straight up jokes into a hilarious one man show. His name is Will Franken and he truly is one of a kind. The first clip I saw was about Extinction Rebellion and featured Will's interpretation of Greta Thunberg, I highly recommend you watch at least this clip before checking out this podcast, just so you have a flavour of what Will does.... and so you can laugh your ass off! I sat down with Will for an awesome in depth conversation about comedy, how he got started and developed his act, his career, and this led on to a broader conversation about entertainment and the world we inhabit. Too many subjects to list here, buckle up for an exploration of a fascinating mind and one of the few comedians who are out there pushing the limits of what is possible on stage. This is a man who at one point in his career was writing and performing a new 90 minute show every month, and he almost never writes anything down! Will has had a long career and is a prolific artist, I encourage all comedy fans to check out his YouTube channel to see more of his work, but nothing beats seeing him live. All of his upcoming dates are available on his website www.willfranken.com

Craig Campbell and Will Franken join host Wade McElwain to solve North Korea, give Trump a holiday break, and discuss "The N Word".
Host Wade McElwain wonders what Lewis Schaffer has against the Russians, but Will Franken remains an unapologetic Trump supporter.
Host Wade McElwain is joined by satirist Will Franken and subversive Glenn Wool. The President's got his travel ban (sort of), but is it really what he wants? Also, has the UK's Jeremy Corbyn had an "Obama moment"?
For fifteen years Will Franken carved out an international comedy career - counting the late great Robin Williams as a fan. He's spent his life perfoming comedy as a man, but now it’s time at last to bring Sarah to the stage. First broadcast on Broadway Baby Radio in 2015. © 2015 On the Mic. In this episode I am joined by Welshman Steffan Alun in Swansea. We discuss the preservation of Welsh culture, Brexit and Will Franken's ass too. We recorded this in a park in the middle of the night so please excuse the sound.
Will Franken is a one-man sketch explosion who creates multi-layered and mind-bending comedy with the exuberance of a bedroom DJ. From writing a new 90 minute show monthly to be performed only once, to putting a kid in a headlock, he rails against an industry that expects comedians to be normal...Get ad-free new episodes, bonus content from interviews and much more by joining the Insiders Club at www.comedianscomedian.com/insidersGet tickets for Stu Goldsmith's stand-up tour at www.comedianscomedian.com/tour@comcompod | www.comedianscomedian.comAnd don't forget to join the Comcom Facebook group, which you can do here.
