God's Story Made Simple for Kids by Sally Breeze GreenIn the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. Katy Warren preaches about the story of Job and bad days. Sometimes there is no justification as to why sometimes we have bad days. “Who has decided to walk beside us in the darkest of valleys?” On days when it is difficult to find something good, the sharing of gratitude lifts our spirits, focusing on those that bring us joy even during terrible, horrible, no good days. Music included in this recording: "Justus es Domine" - Gregorian Chant (Mode 1) Entrance Antiphon for the 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time Lyrics: You are righteous, O Lord, and right is your judgement; deal with this servant of yours according to your mercy. Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord. “Abide with Me” - Henry Francis Lyte (William H. Monk) Lyrics: Abide with me: fast falls the eventide; the darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide. When other helpers fail and comforts flee, Help of the helpless, O abide with me. Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day; earth's joys grow dim, its glories pass away. Change and decay in all around I see. O thou who changest not, abide with me. I need thy presence every passing hour. What but thy grace can foil the tempter's power? Who like thyself my guide and strength can be? Through cloud and sunshine, O abide with me. I fear no foe with thee at hand to bless, ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness. Where is death's sting? Where, grave, thy victory? I triumph still, if thou abide with me. Hold thou thy cross before my closing eyes. Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies. Heaven's morning breaks and earth's vain shadows flee; in life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.
