I had Gloria Martinez-Granados on the show today. I was fortunate to meet her at Earth Maker Gallery, which is Thomas "Breeze" Marcus's Gallery in Phoenix, and get the chance to talk to her. I was just fascinated with how she makes her art, the intensity she works with, and the time it takes. One of the pieces that she did took over 210 days and it was made of 48,900 individual stitches. As you can imagine it's a very labor intensive undertaking. As interesting as her art is, she is equally interesting. Gloria has this long path that lead her to where she is today. She came over with her parents as an undocumented child at the age of eight. That journey of finding her place in America is fascinating as is how she reflects on being an artist in America. On her journey, Gloria got a nursing degree, and then eventually went back and got an art degree at ASU. Fast forward to today, and she has numerous award and has been a part of major museum shows.I really had a great time on this podcast, and I can always tell when I'm having fun on a podcast when time literally stops. I couldn't have told you if it was 5 minutes or 2 hours. It was a great to listen to her journey and witness her enthusiasm in person. I encourage you to watch it on YouTube if you can, just to see her beautiful smile, because she's there's such a genuineness to her and to her art and the creativity that comes through in her work.I hope you enjoy this podcast as much as I did. Hosts Jesse Jackson and Sylvan Groth continue their alphabetical countdown of John Hiatt songs, discussing “One Stiff Breeze,” track 10 of 11 on The Eclipse Sessions, recorded October 5, 2017 at The Rock House in Franklin, Tennessee, with Hiatt (acoustic/vocals), Kenny Blevins (drums), Patrick O'Hearn (bass), Yates McKendree (lead guitar), and Kevin McKendree (piano/organ). Sylvan shares album stats (average 4.15 stars; prior low “The Odds of Loving You” at 3 and high “Cry to Me” at 5), notes no covers found, and reads a Hiatt quote about brain research and how we listen to music. Both hosts struggle to interpret the song's chorus and meaning, preferring the verses as a poem, and find the repeated “I love you” coda off-putting; Jesse rates it 2 stars and Sylvan 1, then they invite listener feedback via email and social media and close the episode. 00:00 Welcome and Catch Up 01:36 Upcoming Shows Talk 02:32 Song Facts Breakdown 04:09 Songwriting Brain Quote 05:36 Quick Reactions After Break 06:37 Chorus Lyrics Confusion 09:21 Fiery Hair Verse 12:02 Darkness and Flashlight Eyes 16:35 Dust in the Wind Theme 18:07 Does the Chorus Fit 21:21 ChatGPT Take and Pushback 23:42 Ratings and Final Verdict 25:29 How to Send Feedback 27:41 Wrap Up and Sign Off Learn more about your ad choices. This week, we review Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 5 Episode 4 "Pawns & Rooks" SPOILER ALERT! This episode of Raising Kanan gave us too major revelations. Tiana is actually named Jarita, and will end up being the mother of Kanan's son, Shawn. Also, Breeze tells Kanan that he is Def-Con's son. As Breeze believes Kanan is also Def-Con's son, he deems them blood brothers. How will these two bombshells impact the story moving forward? We discuss all of it in this week's Powercast.
Most people over 50 are told to expect some kind of decline: less energy, more weight, more medication, less strength, and eventually, a smaller life. But Anita Breeze is 67. She takes no medications, hikes every day, and in her mid-50s, after years of obesity, prediabetes, and chronic inflammation, she completely changed her health with a meat-based carnivore diet.So the question is not just how she did it. The real question is how much of what we call aging is actually the result of years of eating the wrong food. This conversation is bigger than food. It's about shame, food addiction, feeling invisible as we age and the belief that after a certain point, change is no longer possible.By the end of this episode, you may look at aging very differently.00:00 Intro & guest presentation00:50 What health REALLY means 03:41 Who is Anita?06:41 Her childhood and the diet that broke her09:40 The moment she knew she had to stop12:50 Why your relationship with food is broken18:16 Every single diet she tried (and failed)19:40 When weight loss stopped being about looking good33:07 Carnivore vs Lion Diet: the difference nobody explains35:20 The Lion Diet, finally explained43:16 From skeptic to full carnivore44:56 Cravings, addiction & finally feeling full46:44 What aging really means to her now1:03:55 What Anita is building next1:05:13 GoodbyesDon't forget to follow Anita Breeze on her socials:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ketogenic.woman/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@KetogenicWoman Web: https://ketogenicwoman.com/ Linktr: Linker.eeDon't forget to subscribe and follow me on my socials!Instagram :https://www.instagram.com/niklasgustafson/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NiklasGustafsonHealth/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/niklasgustafson TikTok: @niklasgustafson
