The Apostle Paul has been arrested and has been tried three times but the Jews who accused him could not prove any of their accusations against the apostle. Thwarting the Jews plan to kill Paul, the apostle, as a Roman citizen, appeals to Caesar. The last two chapters of the Book of Acts depict Paul's journey to Rome. A Journey fraught with much harm but Paul, and all those that sailed with him, are delivered by the Angel of the Lord. We will be looking into the 25th and 26th chapters of the Book of Acts; of the Apostle Paul making his defense against the accusations of the Jews before Festus the Governor of Judea and before King Agrippa. Acts 14 concerns Paul's First Missionary Journey and Acts 15 covers the First Council in Jerusalem concerning the Gentiles coming to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ without the need to be circumcised first. In this session of the Wonderful Words of Life, we will look into Acts Chapters 9 and 10 to study the early lives of two of the greatest men in the Church, namely Saul of Tarsus, who later came to be known as the Apostle Paul, and the Apostle Peter. We are looking at Acts Chapters 7 and 8. Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Ghost pays the ultimate price for his testimony of the Lord Jesus. He compares the unbelief and rebellion of the Jews against Moses as an example of the unbelief of the Jews concerning Jesus Christ. At the end of Stephen's message the Jews were "cut to the heart".We'll see the Jews response to the preaching of Stephen was opposite that of the response the Jews reaction after Peter preached on the Day of Pentecost. In Acts Chapters 5 and 6 we see the tremendous Holy Spirit revival continue to break out upon the people of Jerusalem with many of them coming to the Lord. In the midst of this revival the devil deludes a husband and wife to attempt to sow sin and wickedness into the midst of what the Holy Spirit was doing.Judged of God, both died immediately and the mighty revival continued. Israel, through its long history, has been a nation in crises. From the times of the Roman domination of the tiny nation of Israel until present, Israel has suffered. Many in the denominational churches think God has abandoned Israel and permanently cast him out of his presence, but the Apostle Paul, who was a Jew, said absolutely "No". God has not cast away his people forever.
