Reviewing the previous lesson.
The battery usually have issues like shorter lifespan.
- I am glad you corrected my English sentence. - I didn't know that Netflix started as a small company like what the article has said. - I signed up on Netflix in 2018 to watch TV shows in English that could help me improve my English skills. - There is a DVD rental store in my city but I never rented any DVDs there. - I have chosen to use Netflix rather than some Japanese streaming service because there are a lot of good movies and TV shows on netflix.
I just wanted to let you know that I forgot to record the lesson.

# I took the TOEIC Listening and Reading in late February. The result was 380 points for Listening and 300 points for Reading, for a total of 680 points. I am a little disappointed because I was aiming for 700 points, but I am relieved that the score shows the results of my study since the previous score was in the 500s. The reason I took the TOEIC was to prove that my English skills would be useful when I was looking for a new job, and although I am not satisfied with my current score of less than 700, I will continue to study English and hope to be able to speak English in daily conversation. The area I focused on the most during this examination was grammar. I had heard that grammar leads to the highest score. In fact, it was not effective, and I realized that there is still room for further study. On the other hand, my listening score was above average, which I thought was satisfaction for me. I would like to improve my grammar, speed reading skills while maintaining the current level of listening. I will continue to do my best.
Hi it's Lawrence from Lawrence's English Podcast. This program is brought you by Anchor that you can easily distribute podcasts for free. I was born and raised in Tokyo. I'm in charge of computer lease contracts and maintenance and work at The accounting department. In my free time, I like watching a movies on Netflix and I publish contents such as newsletters and podcasts on topics related to blockchain and web3. At Discord, I run a community dedicated to learning about crypto, NFTs, and other technologies, and we hold monthly study sessions. Today I'm gonna talk about Speaking to yourself in English. Also, as usual, I studied about English Speaking to yourself on YouTube. The person making the video is called atsueigo. He is Japanese, but after studying at an Australian graduate school, he worked as an accountant in Australia. He is currently posting content on YouTube and other sites related to English language learning, which I find very helpful. What I found useful in this video is to learn English conversation as a template.
Hello, It's Lawrence from Lawrence's crypto English Podcast. I was born and raised in Tokyo. I'm an office worker that is in charge of outsourced PC maintenance and lease contracts and belongs to the accounting department. In my free time, I publish content such as newsletters and podcasts on topics related to blockchain and web3. At Discord, I run a community dedicated to learning about crypto, NFT, and other technologies, and we hold monthly study sessions. I study English because I want to develop my own business in crypto and Web3. I am very excited about this industry and have great respect for Japanese people who are active in the world. I am studying English so that I can be one of them and give a little courage to the Japanese people. Today I'm gonna talk about what I learned about the reasons why I cannot speak English. I watched a movie on YouTube. this movie said that the reason you don't speak English is that you don't have many opportunities to speak English. this is a very simple reason. but I think the reason why many Japanese cannot speak English is because of the lack of English speaking in Japanese school education. so I decided to distribute the podcast in English and started “hitorigoto”. When you speak to yourself in English, you can speak freely what you want to say without worrying about the other person's reaction. Even if you did not speak well, you can say it again. By continuing in this way, I think you will be able to say what you want to say naturally even when you are in a conversation with other people. ok, That's all for today. thanks for listening. bye bye
It has been a while. Today I would like to give you a status report. This past Monday, I was happily approached by the owner of a web3startup that I respect and admire, and I was able to conduct an interview that lasted about two hours. I hope you will check stand.fm and my blog for more detailed information. I never thought I would be able to talk to a startup manager, so it was a very valuable experience for me. From now on, I would like to hone my skills and be more proactive. I will continue to do my best.
Today I'm going to share with you a summary of what I learned on YouTube to speak English. I watched a video called "How to Improve Your Speaking" made by a guy named English Osaru. He says, "Speed up the rate at which you paraphrase using words you know. Today I will introduce this method. How do you say unanimity in English? Unanimity is "All Peaple said Yes" because it is a state in which everyone says Yes. It may seem a bit unfair, but this is the power of rephrasing he is talking about. If you use phrases that even elementary school students know, it is not so difficult to express yourself even if you are a beginner in English speaking, right? He says that speeding up these tasks and learning to speak at a higher tempo will help improve speaking. Here is one more phrase. Do you know how to say "I want to borrow a cat's hand" in English? The answer is not "I want to help the cat. I am busy. When you can simply paraphrase, you will not be bothered to translate the words you want to say into English easily. I would like to incorporate this into my daily life. That's all for today. Bye, bye.

I would like to introduce myself again today. In this podcast, I will practice speaking to myself in English and talk about crypto and Web3. By the way...I got a question from the Twitter community. The question is: How many views does the podcast get on [stand.fm](http://stand.fm/) and this subchannel? In fact, I have been podcasting for over a year now and the number of views is still around 30 per episode. I realized that I still need to work on raising the awareness of my listeners. Now, I would like to talk about what I usually do for my health. However, this is just my personal opinion, so everyone should come up with their own methods. There are two things I do for my health. The first is to do light fasting, and the second is to get a lot of sleep. I would like to talk about these. The first. I would like to talk about light fasting. The way to do a light fasting is to eat dinner around 7:00 p.m. and then stay with drinks and nuts until dinner the next day. I do this only on weekdays. The effects of fasting are said to be weight loss, skin beautification, and anti-aging effects such as reducing the burden on the internal organs. You don't have to be strict when you do it for the first time. I have found that my body feels better when I gradually make time to go without food. Second. I will talk about getting lots of sleep. I try to get at least 7 hours of sleep, because I am aware that if I get less than 7 hours, my body cannot perform well. Sleep plays an important role in regulating the body's hormones and relaxing the body. As a child I used to think it was a waste of time to fall asleep, but now I feel that sleep is what is important. Yes, that's all for today. Thank you for listening. Please listen again next time. Bye-bye.
Welcome to Lawrence's Cryptic English podcast! Today I would like to talk again about introducing myself. As I have said many times, I would appreciate your understanding that this podcast is about me being able to speak what I want to speak in English. So let's get started! Hello. My name is Lawrence. I was born in Japan and grew up in Tokyo. I work in the information systems department and accounting, focusing on computer lease contracts and outsourced maintenance services. On the side, I write a weekly email newsletter and do a daily podcast. In this podcast, I would like to introduce the contents of my newsletter and podcast. First. The name of the newsletter is "Web3 Topics Newsletter," and it is a collection of Web3 topics and commentary on topics of interest to me every Wednesday morning at 6:00 am. You can subscribe for free. Some of the topics I have introduced so far are "Ethereum 2.0" and "Zero Knowledge Proof". I currently have about 50 subscribers, but my current goal is to increase that number to 1,000 by the end of the year. The purpose of starting this newsletter is because I wanted to change my career to a job related to Web3. My current job does not have any work related to Web3 and does not allow me to gain expertise. So, after thinking about what I could do myself while gaining expertise, I decided that the best way to do this was to send out information via text. I tried YouTube before but it did not work. I would like to try my best to increase the number of people who are excited about Web3 and technology by explaining many Web3 topics in an easy-to-understand way. Second. I would like to introduce podcasts. The name of my daily podcast is called "Startup Crypto Channel. This one is basically the same area of information dissemination as the newsletter. I explain news and other information so that you can learn about crypto by ear. I also send out podcasts about what I am thinking, what I am struggling with, and what I am still in the process of thinking about. I don't know if this information is beneficial to the audience, but it helps me to organize my thoughts. I also like the fact that I can send out information easily. The number of times I have broadcasted has now exceeded 420 times. I would like to continue to deliver this information with the aim of reaching 1,000 times. I will summarize. You can subscribe to the newsletter for free and learn about web3 topics, and the podcast introduces news related to crypto and startups, and you can listen to my thoughts in progress. Please check it out if you are interested.
# How Does the Blockchain work?/ Why I do like crypto? Welcome to the Lawrence Crypto English Podcast! Today, I'd like to continue with my introduction and talk about why do I like crypto. While brushing up a bit on the content of the last episode, I would like to be able to speak enough to memorize this script, so I will be broadcasting the same theme again. so let's get started! Hi,I'm Lawrence from crypto english podcast. I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. I'm in charge of computer lease contracts and maintenance. in my free time, I watch movies on Netflix, distribute and listen podcasts on Anchor and stand.fm everyday, research crypto topics, and write newsletters. The name of the newsletter is "Web3 Topics Newsletter," and it is distributed every Wednesday as a free newsletter that helps streamline the gathering of Web3 topics. The reason why I started the newsletter is because I am interested in working as a researcher for Crypt and I wanted to be able to send out high quality information. Researching crypto is difficult, but it's fun, so I'd like to keep doing it until I can make it my job. Now, I'd like to talk about why do I like crypto? In August of 2020, I felt a sense of impatience with the fact that I had been simply working as an office worker. I was not sure if I would be able to become the person I wanted to be in the future if I continued to work like this. so I decided to start a blog to improve my skills. However, it was very difficult to keep finding and writing blog posts, and I soon ran out of topics for my blog. but I was interested in the words Bitcoin and Ethereum when I saw them on Twitter. When I looked into it, I found it interesting and soon became addicted to it, and started to invest in it myself. At first, it was because I was having trouble finding material for my blog, but from there, I became more and more addicted to crypto. The reason why I like cryptos is because of its philosophy. The technical background of crypto is the blockchain. Blockchain has features such as decentralization, high secure security, and P2P communication. With these technologies, you don't need to have a bank account, you don't need to verify that the information is correct every time, you can manage your own information instead of a centralized government or corporate control system, and the system can continue to run sustainably. When I learned about this technology, I was convinced that our life and society would be completely transformed and that we would move towards a more convenient and productive future. I believe that we should let machines do what they can do, and let humans do what humans should do, be creative, and spend time with their families and loved ones. I think this way because I feel that the productivity of my organization is low and I feel that Japan can return to being a more economically powerful country if most of the companies in Japan have higher productivity. I thought that technologies such as crypto and blockchain might be useful for this purpose, so I decided to immerse myself in the crypto. OK.That's all for today. Thank you for listening. Please listen again. bye bye.
