We continue the theme and application of the message from 1st service. There is a lesson we need to learn though in the reach of Christ from Matthew 5:12-20.
In light of the truths we profess to believe as Christians, we should evaluate ourselves and see if our lives match up with the calling that we profess to have answered. Matthew 5:1-11 was the reading for our 1st service. Open your Bibles and follow along.
All of the Bible points us to Christ. The Bible defends itself and when you study on book, you will find yourself in another to learn more. We did trust today with The Book of Deuteronomy. Lots of scripture so get your Bibles open and have a pen and paper to write down and go read what is spoken about.
Elder Ron Evans preached through Luke 15 and spoke about the joy we are called to have for those who come to know the Lord. We should always rejoice when a sinner “comes home”!
Elder Ron Evan preached a sermon on the story of Zacchaeus, and how Christ went to where people are. Our calling is the same, to be in the world and not of it, and during our time on this side of eternity we are commanded to engage any and all with the Gospel message.

A brief over view of the significance and power of prayer and fasting. When we read through the Bible, prayer and fasting were not suggested, but implied because of our faith in Christ. How often do you pray? How often do you fast? We pray this sermon is edifying and encouraging.
Our day to day worries are a means to glorify God. Our day to day worries are also accompanied by day to day grace and mercy from God. No one goes through anything for nothing and without purpose. God works all things out…for our good and of course, HIS glory.
Today we talked about “grace”, and how our misunderstanding of the word leads us to live lives that do not honor God and heap burden on us. One day we will all face judgement, and that truth needs to be understand to completely grasp God's grace. The song we played at the end of service is at the following link: https://youtu.be/_SF9xrCtdgE?si=SOz7M7WeWXKGz_pS
Another political season is here and so many misunderstandings and bad theology are floating around churches in America. You cannot separate politics from the Church because politics are a worldly, manmade system that the Church will obviously have to interact with. The question is, do we realize and know what that interaction looks like? Today we unpack a reminder for us as the Church of our calling in this fallen world with fallen political systems and leaders. We cannot anoint and “baptize” political aspects and call them holy. The name of Christ is far greater than any political party and should never be used to promote it, but His name can be used as a guide in how to vote.
