The major difference between sites that convert and make huge money and those that don’t is copy writing. http://escapethematrix.net Ever wonder what makes the difference between the millions of boring, non producing websites splattered all over the web, and the sites that seem to hypnotize visitors and almost force them to grab their credit cards and buy? Well, the major difference between sites that convert and make huge money and those that don’t is copy writing. And luckily, you don’t need to be a Joe Vitale, or hire a $5,000 per page writer to create amazing copy. In this post we are discussing all things copy writing, and providing three distinct and extremely cool resources on copy writing. The second resource is an article by David Frey, written a few years ago on copy writing, called the 12 Step Foolproof Sales Letter. And to give credit where credit is due, you can learn more by Mr. Frey at his excellent blog, here. The second item are the notes from a 2 day workshop that Kimball Roundy and I did. Kimballs notes are his presenter notes, so they aren’t detailed, but you will find they are highly useful and have tons of great, easily digestible tips. 12 Step Foolproof Sales Letter You don’t have to be an award-winning copywriter to create effective sales letters. In fact, writing great sales letters is more of a science than an art. Even the pros use proven “templates†to create sales letters that get results. The following is a 12-step template for writing foolproof sales letters. Overcoming the Hurdles Leading to Buying Resistance Every person has some form of buying resistance. The objective of your sales letter should be to overcome your reader’s buying resistance while persuading them to take action. I liken writing a sales letter to running a steeplechase foot race. The first one to the finish line who has jumped over all the hurdles is the winner, or in this case, gets the sale. Whether you’re giving a sales presentation in person or on paper, the process of overcoming the hurdles leading to buying resistance are much the same. These hurdles are manifested in many spoken and unspoken customer comments such as: “You don’t understand my problem†“How do I know you’re qualified†“I don’t believe you†“I don’t need it right now†“It won’t work for me†“What happens if I don’t like it†“I can’t afford it†Results-oriented sales letters will need to address some or all of these objections to be effective. The 12-step sales letter template is designed to overcome each of these objections in a careful, methodical series of copywriting tactics. The 12 steps are: Get attention Identify the problem Provide the solution Present your credentials Show the benefits Give social proof Make your offer Inject scarcity Give a guarantee Call to action Give a warning Close with a reminder
How to expertly craft your email for high open rates and click rates. http://escapethematrix.net/howtowriteanemail/ Here are some of the e-mail marketing points that you must understand and apply if you want to be successful in turning your prospects into buyers: Know your audience! Speak their language! Questions you should ask regarding your target niche: -How old are they? -What is the gender break down between male and female? -What type of social movements are they likely to follow? For example, if your audience is over 40, they would respond better to references to Downton Abbey than to Justin Timberlake. -What problems do they have? What keeps them up at night worrying? (and how does your product or service help solve their problems?) Subject lines -purpose (get people to read, that’s it) -length (4 to 5 words is ideal) -Personalization (no!) -Arouse curiosity! Email Body -small easily digestible blocks of text -clear call to action “click on this link,†not “buy this product†-Do’s and don’ts Not too many links Only ONE call to action Prospect must see clear VALUE FOR THEM in clicking on your link Offers -Be generous -target your potential buyer -Sell benefits, not features Getting into inboxes -Using the right tool -don’t use spam words! “Join us to fight child pornography! Your dollars will help!†-won’t get in anybody’s inbox!

Make sure you're here and taking advantage of it! Your online real estate is just as important as your offline. Learn how to add some architecture, interior design, and landscaping to it! “I guess I’m supposed to have a website for my company because that seems to be the thing to do.†“I’m also supposed to buy thousands of boring business cards and set them on my front counter in hopes that people will care to grab one and then all-of-a-sudden become lifetime customersâ€Stop iiiit, just stop it. The things you spend your time on, the things you spend your money on should be assets to you, not bottomless liabilities. You DO need a website, but you need it for the right reasons. And the right reason is NOT just because you’re supposed to in the 21st century. Your website is a huge asset, one that can drive tons of foot traffic to your brick-and-mortar business; or tons of leads for your sales company. Whatever business you have, you can showcase it online and gain customers, leads, patients, clients, whatever from your website.A website is actually similar to a brick-and-mortar building, it’s your online real estate; you own that portion of the web! That’s actually pretty cool, huh? And since it is real estate, you need it looking nice, so it’s time to hire a good contractor, a good interior designer, etc all for your website.Your website is used for communication. “The Internet is the latest telegram machine, a new type of telephone†it’s simply that, a new way of communicating with people, but lets not forget that you still need to be thinking about the message you’re communicating, you still need to apply basic marketing skills, these things aren’t somehow new online, people are still sold by the same types of techniques. Whatever your message is offline, should be your message online. Whatever sales process works offline needs to be replicated online. The Internet is just a hi-tech phone used for communication.Simple as it may sound, the idea of creating a website can seem daunting to some. It is kind of a lot, so lets break it down into some simple steps:1. Step One – Strategy MeetingA few good things to address in this are: •   Figure out what you want your website visitors to do; the main goal of the website. Is it to buy something, to call you, to download a document? •   How can those people find you? What will they type in on Google that you would match?2. Step 2 – AnalyzeNow it’s time to analyze what’s already out there: •   Search for those phrases from step one and make a list of the best 5 sites that rank for them. (not the top, the best, let me explain the difference) •   Print out the best 5 websites. Best is determined by rank but also content on the site and website/graphic design of the site. Sometimes there are odd ones with not-so-great looks that slip through the cracks, we don’t want to get ideas from them. •   Circle all the graphical elements that you like on all 5 pages. •   Highlight headlines, sentences, and other elements that you like •   Throw out all of the pages with no writing or highlights, and transcribe all of the writing into a word doc, then scan all of the high lighted pages so you can show your graphic designer those elements.3. Step Three – Content Idea GenerationAt this point we want to identify questions that people are asking about our industry, product, or service and questions that they SHOULD be asking but aren’t. From these questions and answers we can get an idea of some of the pages that our website needs to have. Each of these pages can now correspond to keywords that you’ve determined back in step one.Dave, Owner of Escape the Matrix, goes deeper into his blueprint for website development in the premium course. He’ll talk about things like keyword divisions and how many to place on the home page, style guides, and keyword-rich content for your site.
