I'm here today to let you know that you are worth it! Your expertise, your background, what you're all about… all of it! Sure, there are a lot of people in the world that aren't willing to pay a nickel for what you're offering, and you know what? That's okay because that's them, not you. On the other hand, there are people in the world right now that want your expertise, that want what you put out into the world, and you know what? They're willing to invest in it. So remember, you don't need to serve everyone. You don't need your thing to go out to everyone. There's over seven billion people in this world. We can't service everyone.

A lot of times when I am coaching entrepreneurs and business owners, and they're putting together their thoughts and ideas for there offer, they stop themselves before they even get started because they say, “someone's done that already” or “so and so, has a product that's just like that, I can't compare myself to that”, and they freeze and they don't go further with that idea, and that's an awful shame! Because yes, there is a lot of noise out there, there's a lot of competition out there, and I'm sure for every single product or service that's out there, there's a million different options, but the thing that's not out there, is you and your unique voice and what you bring to the table! You have unique experiences, you have knowledge, you have skills that nobody else has, and that's important to remember as you are crafting your offers, because even though it may have been done before by someone else, that's their voice, that's their spin, that's their vibe. You have something unique and different to share! Don't stop yourself before you get started. Put your offers out there, let people know you can help them out, because they're waiting for you, and they need you.

How do you price your product or service? What price should your product, service, coaching program, membership course be at? Now here's the thing, in the open world right now there are people that are hunting for free or low-cost everywhere. They're searching the Walmarts of the world, the Amazons of the world, they're looking on YouTube, on Google, they're searching and hunting in Facebook groups and on Instagram accounts… they're hunting for free or low cost. Yes, there are going to be way more people that want free or low cost in every single market or niche that's out there in the world. But.. at the exact same time, there are a lot of people in the world right now that are willing to make a very serious investment in our product and service. So I recommend when it comes to pricing is that we really need to know our audience, we really need to know the transformation. What is the problem they have and how are we speaking into that problem? What is the transformation that they're going to get through our coaching program or membership or course or product or service? What is that transformation? Because that's really the end result of what they're going to get, the promise that you're making. It doesn't matter how many modules or how how if it's a facebook live or zoom call. It doesn't matter if it's a whiz bang thing, it's the desired result, it's the end result that people are seeking, they want that problem fixed. What is the transformation. When you understand that, then you understand how to package around the price that you actually want. I'm going to challenge you: start with the price! What problem are you solving? And when you look at that price point, how can you create an offer around it that's going to make it totally irresistible?

I'm Jillian, your host, and today I'm excited to share with you an insightful conversation I had with SEO expert, Casey Markee. We delved into the recent Google updates, their impact on bloggers, how AI is changing blogging and what the future might look like as 3rd-party cookies get phased out, and how to position yourself for success in 2024. The Future of Blogging: AI and the Potential Decline of Ad Revenue As we approach 2024, I posed a question to our audience: How do you plan to grow your income considering the competition from AI content and the potential decline in ad revenue due to the phase-out of third-party cookies? I suggested that bloggers pivot by selling their own digital products and services to their audience. A tool I recommend is MiloTreeCart, which allows users to set up memberships, digital downloads, workshops, coaching, and mini-courses in less than ten minutes. It's user-friendly and offers real people to provide assistance. For the first thousand VIP customers, there's a one-time lifetime deal of $349 with no recurring fees, and a 30-day money-back guarantee is offered. Many bloggers initially go through a stage of bargaining, hoping that the changes they made will improve their rankings. However, when they see that the updates didn't have the desired impact, they move into a stage of depression. They realize that they won't be able to achieve the same level of success as before. Eventually, they reach the acceptance stage, understanding that SEO is a long-term process and they need to make the necessary changes to recover. Misconceptions about Google Updates and Content Structure Casey clarified that FAQs and specific information are still relevant, but bloggers need to avoid overloading their posts with unnecessary content. He emphasized the importance of being useful and avoiding superfluous information. He advised bloggers to optimize their posts for different audiences by providing a clear answer at the top of the post and offering additional information for those who want more details. The Role of AI in Content Creation We discussed the evolving landscape of content creation and the potential impact of AI technology. We acknowledged the convenience and efficiency that AI brings to our lives but also expressed concerns about its potential to replace human creators. Casey emphasized that AI should be used as an efficiency boost and a way to fine-tune existing skills rather than relying solely on AI-generated content. He believes that bloggers can benefit from using AI tools to save time and focus on other aspects of their work. The Impact of Recent Google Updates on Bloggers Casey predictes that there may be another update in the near future, considering the significant changes seen in October. He mentions that platforms like Quora and Reddit have gained prominence in search results due to their user-generated content. However, he highlighted the challenge of determining the credibility and expertise of the contributors on these platforms. The Importance of Focusing on What Bloggers Can Control Casey emphasizes the importance of focusing on what bloggers can control, such as their own content. He advises bloggers to ensure their content is updated, useful, and concise. He also recommended interlinking new posts with related older posts to create a strong internal network. The Future of AI and Blogging Casey predicts that artificial intelligence (AI) will continue to grow, and bloggers who have been slow to embrace it will join the bandwagon in 2024. He believes that high school kids will increasingly help their parents run their businesses, and the loss of third-party cookie data in 2024 could have a negative effect on income. To compensate for this loss, bloggers will need to gather first-party data through email subscribers, site behavioral data studies, and loyalty programs. The Significance of Third-Party Cookies and Their Impact on Blogging We discussed the significance of third-party cookies and how they track users' online activities. Casey mentioned that ad companies like Raviv and Mediavine have their own solutions to replace the lost cookie information. He advised bloggers to invest in their email efforts to track and engage their audience. The Dominance of Google in the Search Engine Market Casey discussed the dominance of Google in the search engine market and predicted that its traffic percentage will continue to rise. He believes that third-party search engines, no matter how much money they invest, cannot compete with Google's market share. The Importance of Being Human and Creating a Community We concluded by acknowledging the fast-paced changes in the industry and the need for bloggers to find new ways to engage their audience. Casey emphasized the importance of being human and creating a community around the blog. He advised bloggers to focus on providing helpful content that meets the needs of users rather than just targeting keywords. In this ever-evolving digital landscape, it's crucial for us, as bloggers, to stay informed, adapt, and continue to provide valuable content to our audience. Stay tuned for more insightful discussions on the future of blogging. I get how HEAVY every post feels when you start marketing your business. “Is this post ‘right'? Did I say the right things to make a sale (without being skeezy???)? Is it good enough to go ‘viral'? Does it make me look like a REAL coach????” When you're posting from a place of scarcity (aka: putting SO much pressure on every post to make a sale or to validate your business), you start to take the focus off of your clients. And besides the fact that focusing on your clients feels better, serving your clients through your content is what ACTUALLY drives sales. In this episode, I outline my 3-step process for shifting out of scarcity and back into service - so you can start calling in ideal clients and start making consistent sales.

When it's time to craft your offer, are you focusing on the features and forgetting to include the benefits? A lot of us make this mistake. The features are all the “things” in your offer: that's all the modules, that's all the lessons, that's the PDF's, that's the audio downloads, that's all the stuff, it's all the things, and they are important because the detail-oriented people are going to want to know exactly what's included in their offer. But in addition to the features, we also need to have the benefits, and this is the part a lot of people forget. With the features in mind, think about why it's important? Why would this person really be interested in this module or in this audio download? How is it really going to help them? Then you need to tie the two together! Feature benefit language is super important, start incorporating this in all of your copy, whether it's your sales pages, your landing pages, your free stuff, and yes you need it on the freebies too, they need to know why it's important. When you have the feature tie to the benefit, then you truly can hone in on that transformation and the audience can really have a better sense and understanding of how your offer is really going to help them. So, list your features, all the stuff, all the things, all the goodies that you're going to give to them, but then make sure to include the benefits!

Embrace your mistakes! Celebrate them and learn from them. This is important. I really want you to celebrate your mistakes because you're one of the few that took action that got out of your head that made a decision and moved forward. You took that step. And, when you take that step, you have a new point of view, you have a new lens from where you were before, you'll never go back to where you were before. Because now, even if it was a mistake, even if it was something that didn't work quite perfectly and that's the great thing when it comes to marketing your business when it comes to putting yourself out there into the world like that, that perspective will allow you to pivot adjust change because again, we talk about all the time, marketing is testing, and the only way that you're going to test is you have to be vulnerable enough to put out imperfection is put out things that are not perfect because it's the market feedback that we don't have until we put our thing out into the world. So go ahead and make mistakes. That is how we learn.

Do you want to improve your marketing? Do you want it to get better? Do you want every time that you put an offer into the marketplace, it just gets tighter and tighter and tighter and so much more aligned? Well, guess what you need to do then? Track and measure your results, specifically your conversions. 100% of people that see your ads aren't going to click on the link. So, there's a ratio there, there's a percentage there. Everybody that goes to your landing page or your sales page are not going to buy or not going to opt in. There is a percentage there also. So, what we need to do is, we need to track this. That way we can look at the measurements. We are doing our tests and the other things that we always talk about, we can see incremental improvements, we can actually duplicate success, but we can't duplicate something if we don't know what's happening. So, track and measure!

Nugget: Stop, Listen and Keep an Open Mind

    Online Marketing Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Nov 23, 2023 11:36

One of the key pieces of being successful in marketing is having an open mind. Now, I know a lot of us think we have an open mind, but when we're presented with a new idea, a new challenge, just something new that's in our business, our natural tendency is to say wait, stop, I don't know, that's not going to work for me. All these different things, all these beliefs that we have about our business and why it won't work or why that strategy is not the best for us without even really looking at it from an open mind and open perspective. You know, the best marketers in the world and the best people in business are adaptable. They adapt to changes that happen in their business. They have an open mind, they try things out, they test things out, they give it a really good go and then make the determination there if it's best for their business. So when you're approaching your business and anything new that you encounter in your marketing comes up, I want you just to stop and listen and have that open mind. Listen first before you make any judgment, before you put the hands up and say, this won't work for me. Listen with an open mind first and then from there, try it out, put yourself out there, take those steps, you know, find a mentor that's going to help you along the way to really give it a good try before you make that determination. But have that open mind first, that's the first key step because an open mind can lead to so many opportunities in your business, but you have to be open to listen. So keep that open mind.
