WE'RE BACK!!! its all Yossies fault. Damon Shaw and Mike Ortiz come out of retirement with Yossie Bloch (again all his fault) Chris Mitchell and Jason Thompson to dicuss the Best Fictional Corporation.brackets
We end the year with Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz and Jason Thompson, stepping up and sharing their views that seem to run contrary to what they are seeing online. specifically the negativity aimed at DC Comics. Unlike the many blogs, websites and podcasts that have been critical of DC, We actually like what they are doing and support many of the choices they have made. We also think there are a lot of people who agree and want to give voice to the other side of the argument.
Hey it's rerun time on TV, so why not here. Representing the 2012 Mailroom Holiday special featuring mailroom employee Allen as he learns the true meaning of Xmas. If anyone knows of an opening in a mailroom, that doesn't require sobriety and allows the occasional tryst with a big booty milf, then drop Allen a line.Anyway hers the show. Nothing new added, just represented for you holiday pleasure.
We weren't joking. Every year, we are running this episode just like real holiday specials on TV. We'll add something, first it was Allen remastering the audio and adding an intro and easter eggs. Then it was Mike doing a commentary on the episode. This year we added a little something new too. The old stuff as always is Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Kathy Lehman, Tess Craft and Allen discussing the BEST HOLIDAY SPECIAL OR MOVIE. Bah humbug!
This episode Christy Wooke, Damon Shaw, and Josh VanValkenburg spit knowledge at you about Christmas,George, and Quokka's all stuff you didn't need to know but now you do!
So Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz and Jason Thompson sat down and watched 1988's Willow from George Lucas and Ron Howard. They hadn't seen it in 25 years or so. they all think they liked it then but remember very little. Listen as they watch for the first time in ages and give their thoughts about the movie, the Wolverine, the demise of action movies, the demon inside Val Kilmer and much more that has nothing to do with the movie/
Join Damon Shaw, Chris Mitchell and Anthony Valenta as they provide commentary over Michael Jackson's Moonwalker. Yes THAT Michael Jackson's Moonwalker. Really. I'm not sure why either. Just listen, it's gotta be better than last weeks episode right?
This may be the end of our streak. There has been something in our feed every week since June 2010 and if this is how we end it that's okay with me! In this episode Josh, Christy, and Damon will learn you more internet facts!! Like how long a pig orgasms and all about Allen's favorite president LBJ.
Join Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz and Jason Thompson as they close out our tribute to Superman on his 75th birthday with a commentary for the Man of Steel movie in time for it's home video release.
Chris Mitchell may have seen it early, But Mike Ortiz and Pete Lucas saw Thor: The Dark World in a marathon with Thor and The Avengers. this is their spoiler free reaction
Over the weekend Chris and Amelia went and saw Thor hear his thoughts here. HOPEFULLY Mike and Pete Lucas will post one later this week.
Join Christy Wooke, Josh Vanvalkenburg, and Damon Shaw as they scour the internet for nuggets of truth! What will they find? Tune in and see!
Here you go, the fake lost episode. No brackets, just a short list of topics to discuss. We said it could never be done! We said it should never be done! As our last bracket episode it may be the perfect show, I know NOTHING about B5 and I (Damon) found it entertaining. Join Mike Ortiz, Chuck Farrell, Jason Thompson, Christy Wooke, and Matt Williams as they wax poetic about Babylon 5. The best part of this panel is we didn't know a single person on it when we started Geek Fights and 3 out of the 4 I would consider to be good friends 2 I've met in person and that fourth person was a first timer! I'm gonna miss this.... anyway enjoy!LAST. BRACKETS. EVER!!!Pdf and excel as always.
Almost there... Stay on Target... as we near the end, we tackle the first episode that ever beat us, BEST JUMP THE SHARK MOMENT. Join Allen, Chuck Farrell, Brian Townsend, Mike Ortiz, and Damon Shaw as we wax poetic about the best part of our show, the intros. Follow the man, the myth, the legend, Jerad Formby on Twitter @Super_Spock and on his blog www.heystartrek.net. The only reason it's long is because of all the extra audio added by Allen he worked tirelessly to add all the intros in and clean up the audio as he has over the last 2 years he wouldn't let us tell you until now. Sorry it was late!
Join Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Chris Mitchell and Michael Felsher as they share their thoughts during a commentary and discussion of the most successful and controversial Star Trek movie to date, Star Trek Into Darkness. The fan community has been divided by this movie, with much of the conversation dominated by critics of the movie. We present a counter view, focusing on the strengths of the movie as a reminider that geeks do not all think with one Borg-like mind.IDIC bitches.
Good news everyone, this episode is all about Futurama episodes! Join Pete Lucas, Mike Ortiz, Damon Shaw, Ben Mccolloch, Chuck Farrell, and Michael Felsher as they go deep into their love for Futurama! What will win? Why not Zoidberg?
To be honest I don't know what he reads. He sent this to me MONTHS ago and I forgot to post it. I'm sure it's good Chris would never do anything that wasn't high quality!
It's Jerad Formby's pick, and it's BEST MOVIE YOU HAVEN'T SEEN. So as we get closer to the end. I'm getting lazy, No more episode graphics and considerably less clever (is that possible) little write ups. Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Kathy Lehman, Jason Thompson and Yossie Bloch... yadda yadda yadda... BEST SEINFELD QUOTE.Brackets here, PDF and Excel format. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
So yeah Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Josh VanValkenberg, Michael Felsher, Christy Wooke, Shauna Reynolds and Veeraj Keshwala spend over 2 hours talking about pouring things isn their butt, hence BEST BUTTCHUG BEVERAGE. They are surprisingly serious and well thought out in their sometimes passionate arguments. This is the entire unedited Skype call for the episode because this kind of gold isn't contained to a geek fight. especially when the sex toy talk starts, and it's not quite what you thinkBrackets, PDF and Excel format.
There will come a day, eons from now. When the Dark Energy that fuels universal expansion has pushed the very matter of the cosmos into a cold haze of elementary particles. A day when entropy looms large over all creation as the lst wisps of thermodynamic existence are crushed from the cosmos and absolute zero reigns supreme. On this day the Simpson will still be on the air. And it will give us great dialogue. Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Chuck Farrell, Pete Lucas and Sammy Castle won't be there to see, but there are here now to talk about the BEST SIMPSONS QUOTE.PDF and Excel format.
The last comic book show, and it's one of the big ones, it's the last MARVEL VS DC. This time up, it's not who would win in a fight, its the best stories! Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Jason Thompson, Brian Townsend and Paul Kowalski discuss the game changing, iconic (ding) tales from the greatest creators of today and yesterday. FRANK MILLER LOVES NINJAS!!PDF and Excel format.
Ok once again, I know nothing about this topic, but Karin, Christy Wooke, Brian Townsend, Alex and Chris Fiore do and they talk about the BEST ADVENTURE TIME EPISODE. Damon Shaw hosts, Mike Ortiz just screws up the recording and looses the last half hour. Seriously, one job and he cant handle it. No wonder we are ending this. PDF and Excel format.
Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Michael Felsher, Greg Blanchard and BJ Anderson discuss the BEST FRIENDS EPISODE. This episode was Michael's idea and he's decidedly unfriendly so go figure. At least it's the shortest episode in years after last week's marathon show. I guess Friends fans arent as long winded as Trek fans.PDF and Excel format.
It's a big international panel for a bigger interstellar topic! Join Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Christy Wooke, John Champion, Teras Cassiday (Canada) , Paul V (Scotland), Chris Mitchell (England), Yossie Bloch (israel) and Allen (Geek Fights mailroom) as they discuss one of the big gun geek topics, BEST STAR TREK CHARACTER. And boy do they discuss, it's the longest episode ever. 2 people don't even last the whole show. The rest probably wish they hadn't. You may not either. Brackets: PDF and Excel format.
Have you recently been injured in a slip and fall Geek Fight? If so you may be eligible to receive millions. Contact the legal team at Shaw, Ortiz, Farrell, Wade and Patanjo. They will object, motion to dismiss, approach the bench and all the other stuff you see in movies, TV, books, comics etc. While they are at it, they may even talk about the BEST FICTIONAL LAWYER. Listen in or be held in contempt! Exhibit A: PDF. Exhibit B Excel format.
First there was Nicholas Cage vs Kurt Russell. Then there was Gary Oldman vs Liam Neeson. When it came time to do Christopher Walken, the only person who could possibly take him on was... Christopher Walken! Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Michael Felsher and Greg Blanchard celebrate one of the best, with CHRISTOPHER WALKEN VS CHRISTOPHER WALKEN. It's Bat villains and Bond villains, butt watches and census takers, soft shoe and lunchtime reptiles. So grab your cowbells and champagne and give a listen! Brackets: PDF and Excel format.
Geek Fights gathered in their masses. Just like Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Christy Wooke, Pete Lucas and Yossie Bloch at black masses. Evil minds that plot destruction. Sorcerers of death's construction. In the fields the bodies burning. As the BEST WAR MOVIE keeps turning. Death and hatred to mankind. Poisoning their brainwashed minds... Oh Lord yeah! I was going to with with a "War what is it good for?" thing, but I am seeing Black Sabbath soon with Ozzy (new album coming too) and went with War Pigs instead. Brackets: PDF and Excel format.
I ramble about my thoughts on Superman for 20 minutes with bad audio THEN Josh joins the party we see the movie then SPOIL the Sh!t out of it!
This is the Last Superman Unnamed podcast. I don't remember who is on this one or what we talked about! It was 3 months ago! I know Jason Ritter is on this one! Tomorrow is the Man of Steel Review!
Superman week continues as Mike Ortiz takes a look at the MANY ORIGINS OF SUPERMAN. Explore the history of the Man of Steel's ever evolving origin story in comics, from a simple one page afterthought to year long multi-part epic. See how the origin has been used as an entry point for new audiences and jumping off point for a whole mythology.
Faster than a speeding Damon Shaw! More powerful than a Mike Ortiz! Able to leap tall Brian Townsend at a single bound! Look! Up in the sky! It's Jason Thomson! It's Chuck Farrel! Its Greg Trahan! It's BEST OF SUPERMAN!... Yes, it's BEST OF SUPERMAN ... strange visitor from another podcast who came to earth with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men! BEST OF SUPERMAN ... who can change the course of mighty geek spite, bend geek logic in his bare hands, and who, disguised as Clark Kent, mild-mannered reporter for a great metropolitan newspaper, fights a never-ending battle for truth, justice, and Geek Fights! Brackets: PDF and Excel format.
The Unnamed Superman Podcast returns! As we await this weeks release of the Man of Steel, we present Damon Shaw, Chris Mitchell and Mike Ortiz doing a commentary for the Director's Cut of Superman the Movie. There's some audio echo on damon and Chris, but Mike sounds fine and he does a lot of the talking. He really dig the movie too much and knows way too much about it!
Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz and Chris Mitchell didn't plan to do an episode talking about Star Trek Into Darkness, and yet they did. After recording their Superman The Movie commentary (which comes out next week) they just started talking trek, cause that's what they do. After 45 minutes, they realized they had an episode. Listen to them give negative reactions to the negative reactions of fans online.
Our panelists who art in Geek Fights. Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz and Jason Thompson be thy name. Thy recording come, thy podcast done. On air as it is in heaven. Give us this topic, our BEST DEITY And forgive us our geek logic As we forgive those who geek logic against us. And lead us not into inappropriate discussions about peoples personal religious beliefs, that in the past has caused Holy Wars. but deliver us from boredom Amen Brackets: PDF and Excel format.
I'm not even gonna try to explain this. Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Allen, Josh Van Valkenburg and Josh Perrigo discuss something. They aren't even sure. It's all UNKNOWN. Just a whole bunch of random. But there's space penis. Brackets: PDF and Excel format.
Time to get schooled, as Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Kathy Lehman, Barry Ingram and BJ Anderson discuss the BEST FICTIONAL SCHOOL. It's mutants, wizards, nerds, slobs, stoners, surfers, time lords, winners and losers. Just like real school, only sometimes there are death traps, and they probably get laid more, at least more than i did. Brackets: PDF and Excel format.
I know I say spoilers over and over and over again but there are no spoilers in this mini ep. We enjoyed the movie so much we wanted you to go in with just two things. One, we liked it a lot! Two, the fanboys are gonna be pisssssssed. Enjoy Mike Josh and I as we go to the movies and don't talk about the movie at all.
ACTION! It's time to celebrate the kings of cinema as Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Christy Wooke, Greg Blanchard, Jeremy Sacher and Paul Kowalksi bring you the BEST DIRECTOR. From thrill-makers to surrealists, box office titans to arthouse darlings, these visionaries have crossed genres, decades and languages to make us, laugh, cry, rage, think and just plain marvel at the magic of movies. CUT! THAT'S A WRAP! Brackets don't seem to be working at the moment.
Allen & Jerad Formby haven't seen Star Trek: Into Darkness yes, but they still talk about it. There's no spoilers (because they haven't seen it) and they don't spend the whole time talking about it (because they haven't seen it), but they spend a good deal of time talking about Star Trek 2009, Star Trek in general, hopes for the new movie, fears about the new move, and some thoughts on the next one.
On the off chance, that the idea of listening to us get together in one room and get drunk while we record still appeals to you after the previous two C2E2 shows, Damon Shaw, Mike Ortiz, Christy Wooke, Jerad Formby, Karin, Dave Gill, Tess Craft, Kathy Lehman, (spoiler alert) Anne Geyer, Allen (via Skype) and the incredibly handsome Matt do their best to make sure you never do again. Its less hate crime-y than before, but also somehow less coherent. The first half isnt too bad, but clearly the sharing of the microphone and the random choices (man there is some crappy shows on this list) and the booze and the brownies all lead to a hot mess by the end. It doesn't really even end, which is ironic as it probably should never have begun. Brackets: PDF and Excel format.
Living in the UK has some perks Chris gets to see some movies earlier than us...some. I would say SPOILERS but I haven't listen to this one yet so... SPOILERS!!!!!!
We just got back from C2E2 and Mike hadn't had time to make a clever statement for this but most of you don't read it any way! Join Damon, Mike, Chuck, Justin, and Jerad for the shortest episode in a LOOONG time but boy is it fun! Brackets: PDF and Excel format.
