This week on the Black Rifle Coffee Podcast, Logan Stark sits down with Producer, Marine, and American history nerd Jack Mandaville to uncover the story behind Warpigs, the gritty, hilarious, and uniquely patriotic documentary inspired by Jack's time in the Marine Corps. From his Minnesota roots to his deployment mindset, Jack shares how war, humor, and a deep love for history shaped his worldview and creative voice. The two dive into everything from Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders to post-deployment life, fatherhood, and why baseball still hits different. If you've ever wondered what happens when a Marine grabs a pen, this one's for you.
You might here some different intro music on this episode. That is Sènaderé by uKanDanZ off their debut album; Yetchalal. Oh, and what is that? You also here some music between the end of our interview and our post interview discussion? That is uKanDanZ's cover of War Pigs from their new album, Evil Plan.If you're unfamiliar with the band and their music, we talk plenty about it with group co-founder, songwriter, guitarist and bassist; Damien Cluzel. While on break from some shows Damien gave us some time to talk about uKanDanZ in general, their new album which is out now, and of course, about his love for the Coen Brothers', Fargo.

What do Björk, crust punks, and shattered phone screens have in common? Not a lot, unless you're listening to this week's Beat Motel episode, where Andrew is rejoined by Sam for a gloriously unhinged chat on how songs end... or don't.We spend a solid half hour rambling before even mentioning the episode's topic. But who needs structure when you've got riffs of the week ranging from crunchy sludge to grindcore bands sampling podcast clips (shoutout Hello Kitty Funland), a philosophical debate on crust punk fashion, and the inevitable descent into chat about Lord of the Rings accents, bending phones, and old dudes getting emotional about The Charlatans? We do eventually talk endings—codas, fade-outs, orgasmic musical climaxes (sorry mum), and tracks that just yeet themselves into oblivion like Sabbath's "War Pigs." You'll hear tracks that end with a question mark, songs that smash themselves to bits with piano noise, and at least one that leaves you wondering if the studio engineer fell asleep on the desk.In this episode:Why Björk is the queen of the chaos outroWhat Led Zeppelin got right with “Achilles' Last Stand”A crash course in Blackened Crust™Whether anyone actually needs a folding phoneWhy crust punks are just vegans with patches and traumaHow The Clash nailed the fade-out (and birth control lyrics)Oh, and we manage to wind up fans of Pantera and Dave Mustaine in one go.
Côté live, The Police nous transporte à Boston en 1979 avec "Born In The 50s". La reprise du jour revisite "Loom Of The Land" de Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds par The Walkabouts. La playlist de l'émission : Skunk Anansie - An Artist Is An Artist Kasabian - Shoot The Runner Thin Lizzy - Waiting For An Alibi Blur - Country House The Murder Capital - Words Lost Meaning Santana - Europa Cake - The Distance Heartworms - Mad Catch Wings - Jet Reb Fountain - Come Down AC/DC - Shoot To Thrill Viagra Boys - Man Made Of Meat The Walkabouts - Loom Of The Land Pearl Jam - Jeremy Squid - Building 650 Iron Maiden - Run To The Hills Goldfrapp - Ooh Lala The Police - Born In The 50'S (Live) Black Sabbath - War Pigs Black Country - New Road Tom Petty - I Won't Back Down The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - Talk About The Blues April March - Chick Habit Pink Floyd - Pigs (Three Different Ones)
Wo bleibt also der Widerstand?
¿Qué historias y secretos esconden clásicos como Paranoid, War Pigs, Heaven and Hell, Children of the Grave y N.I.B.?

Big Fat Five: A Podcast Financially Supported by Big Fat Snare Drum
This week's guest is Adolfo Torres. Adolfo's musical journey started in Cali, Colombia, and from a young age, his passion for music was evident, leading his parents to enroll him in drum lessons. This early start paved the way for his education at the Drummers Collective in NYC and later at Berklee College of Music on an American Tour Scholarship. After his studies, Adolfo moved to Austin, TX, playing with artists like JT Coldfire and Jennifer B and the Groove Kings, where he learned about the life of a working musician. In 2013, he returned to Colombia, forming the band M.I.J.O, which blends Classic, Modern, and Progressive Rock. All that being said, I've been a big fan of his for a long time and go check out a few of his videos before you listen to our chat. It will set the stage for a lot of what we talk about. I hope you enjoy the five records that shaped Adolfo Torres into the musician he is today. Cheers! Welcome to episode 81! In this episode, Laurel covers the story of the RMS Titanic's sinking and how it remained undiscovered on the ocean floor for the next 73 years until a top secret Cold War mission led to its (almost accidental) discovery in 1985. After we get back on dry land, KT brings us a long awaited topic near and dear to her heart: metal music. From its early foundations and icons to the passing of the torch to new metal sounds, KT covers the history of heavy metal music with a lot of heart. *~*~*~*~* Mentioned in the Stories: History I'd Like to F*ck with Dawn Brodey Titanic Episode, part 1 HILF Titanic Episode Part 2 Map of the Titanic, Thresher and Scorpion Wreck Sites (link opens to the blog page with map, just scroll down a little) War Pigs by Black Sabbath *~*~*~*~*~ The Socials and Patreon! Giving computers a voice has always been at the center of sci-fi movies; “I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that” wouldn't hit as hard if it just appeared on screen as a terminal output, after all. The first electronic speech synthesizer, the Voder, was built at Bell Labs 85 years ago (1939!), and it's…. something:We will not cover the history of Text To Speech (TTS), but the evolution of the underlying architecture has generally been Formant Synthesis → Concatenative Synthesis → Neural Networks. Nowadays, state of the art TTS is just one API call away with models like Eleven Labs and OpenAI's TTS, or products like Descript. Latency is minimal, they have very good intonation, and can mimic a variety of accents. You can hack together your own voice AI therapist in a day!But once you have a computer that can communicate via voice, what comes next? Singing

In this episode of Unplugged with Tyler Winters and John Pearman, the hosts discuss various topics, starting with an overview of the Grammys, highlighting Taylor Swift's record-breaking wins and Paramore's historic achievement. They also touch upon Paris Jackson teasing new music, and boygenius' hiatus, and they share thoughts on Jay-Z's comments about Beyoncé's Grammy snub. The hosts then express their views on the current state of pop-punk, declaring that it has peaked and discussing the lack of innovation in the genre. The conversation takes an interesting turn as they delve into Kanye West's unauthorized sample of Ozzy Osbourne's song "War Pigs," leading to legal and ethical concerns. The hosts also explore the shocking revelation that Talking Heads turned down an $80 million offer to reunite for festivals in 2024. The episode concludes with a humorous discussion about Kid Rock's claim of getting more "ass" than Mark McGrath, with McGrath himself confirming the statement. But the hosts wonder, of the two artists, who got the more quality of ass?Support the showAs always, thanks for listening! If you're interested in supporting our show, you can do so here.Want even more news? The most important song in the history of Heavy Metal has a lot more substance than you might think, as does that song's most unexpected cover. War Pigs, originally by Black Sabbath, covered by T-Pain. Outro is Fortunate Son, by Creedence Clearwater Revival.
Passengers look to cash in after the door plug fail on an Alaska flight. Bryan supports the use of boulders to deter homeless camps. KNOW IT ALL: 1) U.S. attacks the Houthis. 2) Man charged with sexual exploitation of children. 3) T-Pain video goes viral where he's singing "War Pigs" with no auto-tune. 4) Spotlight on the border as the Biden administration fails to control the illegal immigration problem. 5) Rep. Jayapal says the Biden administration has been too strict at the border. // International scrutiny intensifies as Israel continues its war on Hamas in Gaza. Bryan highlights the painstaking lengths Israel and America go to to prevent civilian casualties when fighting military combatants. // UW's Kalen DeBoer may be getting courted by Alabama. Bryan and producer Greg talk about a possible salary cap to level the college football playing field before NIL gets out of hand.

The railyard is aglow for S3:E0094, where the first part begins with a salute to Connor Bedard's christening as an NHL player and as a Chicago Blackhawk; DJ “S'Moore” gets OPOTW honors for the first time in a long time; George Kittle's t-shirt is fucking awesome, so the NoFunLeague will fine him; Mr. Jefferson (J.J.) in on the pine for the ViQueen's pillow fight with the Bears; MLB playoff discussion ensues with Creed's WUM relevance, a Texas baseball battle is brewing; Sam's Dbacks have a chance to propel, and Philly has a chance to do likewise; in NHL news, the Conor era has begun; Sin City's Golden Knights know how the fuck to raise a banner; ESPN Hockey caller Barry Melrose is off-air due to health complications (thoughts and prayers); NCAAF is fucked, exhibit A is USC vs. ND as a “rivalry game”; and the Bums close with a fuck you to NCAA's Men's Basketball lay down on Rock Chalk's piece of shit coach -- opinions are our own.The flop shot kicks it with another intergalactically famous beer review, featuring WarPig Brewing's “Foggy Geezer“ (6.8% ABV), an amazing hazy with citrus and tropical hops; based in Muenster, IN, WarPigs was born from a collaboration project with 3 Floyds and Copenhagen-based Mikkeller Brewery, but are now an indy; the Middle East is a complete shit show, and it's about goddamn time to dust off the fucking history books again —because apparently the world has a short memory on the complex relationship between Europe, Israel and Palestine; in this month's issue of The IAN, there is a picture of the new Guinness OpenGate brewery in Chicago, but no story — the Bums ask, WTF; the annual 'House Temperature Wars' have officially kicked off as fall weather is upon us (Eddie's policy seems suspect); the Bums community news rag includes a cartoon featuring stupid assholes, who don't understand basic sprinkler etiquette; and end with a proper Paddy rant involving people fucking with our food (pickle marketeers, we're fucking looking at you, like directly at you). All this glory and much more without any taxes or fees. Recorded on October 11th, 2023 at B.O.M.'s global headquarters ‘East Bunker' in Chicago, IL USA.

Following the Japan tour in spring 2023, Night Demon traveled to the UK for a run of UK / Ireland shows that was planned to commence with an appearance at the Dominion Festival in Newcastle. Unfortunately, that festival was canceled on very short notice, leaving the band in limbo for a few days. In this week's episode, you will hear how they spent that time. The centerpiece was an off-the-cuff covers gig at an open mike night at a blues bar in Newcastle. The episode includes audio of this entire performance, including a Jarvis collaboration with Russ Tippins from Satan. Night Demon then traveled to their home base in Derry, Northern Ireland, for a couple days of downtime. The guys describe their philosophies on how to spend time off on the road. Also, Jarvis explains why in a very real way Northern Ireland is home.Become a subscriber today at nightdemon.net/subscriber. Introducing the Band:Your hosts Scot Bertram (@ScotBertram) and Jeff Blehar (@EsotericCD) are joined by guest Eric Garcia. Eric is senior Washington writer for the Independent and a columnist at MSNBC. Check him out on Twitter at @EricMGarcia.Eric's Music Pick: Black SabbathThe storm is upon you; can you hear the peals of thunder in the background, and the bleak clang of the church bell in the sleeping village? Well then break out the most appropriate tritone you can think of as the gang discusses Ozzy, Tony, Geezer, Bill (and yes, Ronnie James as well) and the groundbreaking music of Black Sabbath. Sabbath are famed as the inventors -- with their self-titled 1970 debut album -- of what would come to be known as "heavy metal." As such, they've long been worshipped by surly teenagers and metalheads alike, and derided by parents and critics in equal proportion. What we will take great pleasure in explaining to you during this episode is that the kids and metalheads got this one right. The critics and your parents whiffed. Sabbath was an incredibly intelligent band that may have begun as a demonstratively sludgy blues-rock (hence the birth of "heavy metal") but almost instantly evolved into a progressive group afterwards under guidance of guitarist Tony Iommi's compulsive riff-writing abilities and the secret jazz predilections of bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward. And then there's good ol' Ozzy Osbourne -- the bloke from down at the pub made good, singing his head off as best he can and finding surprising depths in his everyman voice.Sabbath's posthumous reputation is dictated largely by the ubiquitous popularity of their first two albums -- if you have heard them on the radio, it's probably a song like "Iron Man" or "War Pigs" -- but as far as the gang is concerned, that's actually where it gets really interesting for a band whose ability to combine piledriving riffage with shockingly unexpected moments of beauty and soulfulness marked them out during the next seven years as not just the most important heavy-metal bands to exist, but (secretly, don't tell your mom) also one of the finest art-rock groups of its era.
