Welcome to a very special—and deeply personal—episode. Today's conversation is not about theory. It's not about abstract belief. It's about belonging, courage, and the quiet, stubborn pull of a soul toward truth. Today, we're sitting with three people who each chose Judaism—not because it was easy, fashionable, or convenient, but because it felt unavoidable. Because something inside them recognized home. Conversion is not simply a change of religion. It is a change of identity. A re-rooting of the soul. It means choosing a people, a history, a destiny—and in today's world, it often means choosing a path marked by misunderstanding, loss, and real social cost. And yet—here they are. Chris Wood's journey began not in a synagogue, but in a hair salon in Toronto. Raised without Jewish community, he encountered Judaism first through people—through Shabbat tables, family warmth, humor, ritual, and a deep sense of togetherness he had been missing his entire life. What began as cultural connection slowly became something far deeper: a spiritual awakening. A realization that Judaism was not simply something he admired—it was something his soul had been waiting for. For Chris, October 7th and the surge of antisemitism that followed did not push him away. It clarified everything. When someone he loved turned on the Jewish people—and on him—he saw, in real time, how ancient hatred still operates. Instead of retreating, he stepped forward. He chose to wear his Magen David. He chose public solidarity. Bezalel Schraeder's path emerged through trauma, caregiving, and the spiritual exhaustion that comes from witnessing suffering and death. As a nurse, Bezalel watched bodies break and souls unravel—and in that pain, meaning itself began to collapse. Christianity no longer held the answers. Torah did not come to Bezalel as an escape. It came as a rebuilding. Through deep study, honest conversations with rabbis, and unfiltered spiritual struggle, Judaism restored something essential—not only faith in God, but faith in humanity, and in himself. Judaism became a way to stand inside suffering without surrendering to it. And Shifra's journey carries the weight of history, memory, and a soul that always seemed to know where it belonged—long before her mind did. Raised in evangelical Christianity, she reached a breaking point when she could no longer accept a theology that condemned good people for belief alone. When hell stopped making sense, Jesus stopped being the center—but God did not disappear. What followed was not a rejection of faith, but a return to something older, deeper, and more honest. From a lifelong pull toward Holocaust history to a visceral moment at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum—where she felt, without explanation, “my people”—Judaism had been calling long before she had words for it. Three different lives. Three different paths. One shared truth: Judaism was not something they found. Judaism is something that found them. In a time when it is easier than ever to walk away from the Jewish people, these three chose to walk toward us. In a moment of rising antisemitism, they chose visibility. This is not a conversation about conversion. This is a conversation about what it means to choose a people—and to be chosen in return. Let's begin. ——

The road to North America has been paved, and the All Whites are ready to step back onto the world's biggest stage. In this episode, we dive deep into New Zealand's chances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. We break down Darren Bazeley's tactical masterplan—balancing a rigid defensive low block with lethal transitions—and explore why captain Chris Wood remains one of the most feared aerial threats in international football. With the draw placing them in a challenging Group G alongside Belgium, Egypt, and Iran, we ask: can the resilience of 2010 be repeated, or will the expanded 48-team format finally allow New Zealand to secure their first-ever World Cup victory? From Liberato Cacace's energy on the flank to Joe Bell's vision in midfield, this is the ultimate preview of New Zealand's quest for global respect. Wolfie looks into Forest's top striker target for this January transfer window! For Exclusive Content Join FFTV Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/ForestFanTV The search for a new striker at the City Ground has taken a major twist, with Olympiacos frontman Mehdi Taremi emerging as the "leading candidate" to bolster Sean Dyche's attacking options. Following the long-term injury to Chris Wood and the loan departure of Arnaud Kalimuendo, the need for a proven goalscorer is urgent. Given that Evangelos Marinakis owns both clubs, a move for the 33-year-old Iranian international is seen as the most realistic and straightforward deal of the January window. Wolfie looks into whether Taremi—who has already notched 13 goals in Greece this season—is the "shrewd" signing we need or if his age and lack of Premier League experience make it a gamble we can't afford to take. While Taremi offers a physical presence and a clinical edge, many fans are questioning if Forest should instead turn their attention to a more familiar face in Callum Wilson. The former Newcastle man is reportedly set to become a free agent after a mutual agreement to terminate his contract at West Ham. With 92 Premier League goals to his name, Wilson is the definition of "proven," but his well-documented injury record remains a massive red flag. As the January 31st deadline approaches, the pressure is on the recruitment team to find a partner for Igor Jesus who can hit the ground running. Beyond the striker search, we also touch on the latest surrounding the midfield and whether the potential arrival of a veteran like Taremi signals a shift in strategy towards immediate results over long-term development. Can Forest move away from the relegation zone and get a win against Dyche's old team? Check out FFTV Merch! Click Here: https://forestfantv.com/ It is a massive midweek clash at the City Ground as Nottingham Forest welcome Everton for a high-stakes Premier League encounter. After a heartbreaking and controversial 1-2 defeat to Manchester City, the big question is: can the Reds channel that frustration into a winning performance? Despite the loss, the display against the champions was arguably our best under Sean Dyche, and a repeat of that grit and quality is exactly what's needed to secure three points and pull us further away from the relegation zone. Sitting in 17th, this is a "six-pointer" that could define our momentum heading into the New Year. Wolfie is in the hot seat to dissect the potential starting XI and the latest team news coming out of the Forest camp. With Ibrahim Sangaré away at AFCON and Ryan Yates a major doubt, will we see an unchanged midfield from the City game, or is it finally time for Bakwa to get his chance from the start? We also look at the fitness of Chris Wood and whether Dyche will stick with Igor Jesus to lead the line after his tireless work rate last time out. Getting the lineup right is crucial, especially against an Everton side that looks solid under David Moyes and already beat us 3-0 just a few weeks ago at their new stadium. This match carries extra weight for the gaffer, as Sean Dyche faces his former club once again. After the miserable 3-0 defeat on Merseyside in early December, there is a huge element of "revenge" in the air at the City Ground. We need the fans to be the 12th man and ensure the atmosphere is hostile from the first whistle to the last. Jump into the comments and let us know your score predictions—can we get the win we desperately need, or will the Toffees do the double over us? #nffc #everton #nottinghamforest Learn more about your ad choices. Sean Dyche has had in Press conference before the Europa League game! For Exclusive Content Join FFTV Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/ForestFanTV Sean Dyche faced the media today in his pre-Malmö press conference, delivering some devastating injury news just 24 hours before our crucial Europa League clash. The biggest shock came with the confirmation that star midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White will be unavailable for tomorrow's game against the Swedish champions. This is a massive blow to the team's creative engine, and we break down exactly what this means for our tactical approach as the Reds look to secure vital European points away from home. The manager also provided crucial updates on the fitness of striker Chris Wood and defender Ola Aina. Wood and Aina's availability has been a major concern for the club, and while Dyche detailed their recovery status, questions remain over whether they will be fit enough to provide cover and rotation depth in this busy period. With a key playmaker suddenly ruled out, Dyche's lineup selection is now tougher than ever, and we analyse the immediate tactical adjustments that Forest will be forced to make against a difficult Malmö side. Don't miss this essential, full breakdown of all the news directly from the manager's press conference. Nottingham Forest won for the second season in a row at Anfield and this time it was even better as Sean Dyche's team beat Liverpool 3-0 with goals from Murillo, Nicolo Savona and Morgan Gibbs-White. Matt Davies is joined by Michael Temple, Pete Blackburn and former Reds defender James Perch as we review the game and ask if Forest should now reset their Premier League ambitions despite being just a point above the relegation zone still. We'll also ask if Igor Jesus is now first choice striker over Chris Wood and if there are any better Premier League full-backs than Neco Williams. #nffc #nottinghamforest

Every Israeli-Palestinian peace deal has failed. Could Trump's be any different? On Oct. 10, the Israeli cabinet approved a cease-fire deal brokered by the Trump administration, Turkey and Qatar. Since then, the living Israeli hostages have come home. Nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners in Israel have been freed. Israeli forces have partially withdrawn from the Gaza Strip, and they're allowing in more desperately needed aid. This is finally, hopefully, the end of this war.But that was just the first part of the deal. The next phase is a lot more ambitious — and ambiguous. And while President Trump said the region would now “live, God willing, in peace for all eternity,” history would suggest otherwise.Robert Malley has worked on Middle East policy under President Barack Obama, President Joe Biden and President Bill Clinton. Hussein Agha negotiated on the Palestinian side, working under both Yasir Arafat, the first president of the Palestinian Authority, and the P.A.'s current president, Mahmoud Abbas. Together they wrote a sweeping new history of attempts at peace, “Tomorrow Is Yesterday: Life, Death, and the Pursuit of Peace in Israel/Palestine.” They join me to examine what could go right — or wrong — as the rest of the deal takes shape.Mentioned:Tomorrow Is Yesterday by Hussein Agha and Robert MalleyBook Recommendations:One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El AkkadSay Nothing by Patrick Radden KeefeDirty Hands by Jean-Paul SartreThe Just Assassins by Albert CamusThe History of the Peloponnesian War by ThucydidesThe Man Without Qualities by Robert MusilHollywood Babylon by Kenneth AngerThoughts? Somewhere between 140,000 and 390,000 abandoned hardrock mines are scattered throughout the West. Many have sat idle for decades, posing serious safety risks and polluting Western waterways. Last year, Congress took action on this issue by passing the Good Samaritan Remediation of Abandoned Hardrock Mines Act. The law launches a pilot program that allows for the cleanup of 15 mine sites without fear of liability — a landmark step to accelerate reclamation across the region. Western Governors have advocated for this legislation for decades, and WGA celebrated the bill's passage. Tune in to hear from Colorado Senator and former Governor John Hickenlooper as well as experts and organizations involved in cleaning up abandoned mines. They share why this legislation matters, how the pilot program will work, and what kinds of projects could finally move forward under its protections. Easing up, letting things come to you, and practicing being present is a recurring theme in recent episodes of this series, and that mindset is on full display once again in this episode on The Wood Brothers. I sat with Oliver Wood, Chris Wood and Jano Rix backstage at the 2025 Earl Scruggs Music Festival, ahead of their Friday night headlining set at the award-winning event. It was one of the most jovial and insightful conversations I have had in quite a while, and we covered a lot of ground, ranging from the band's sonic evolution and their penchant for improvisation and letting their subconscious steer the way in the studio and on stage, to their perspective on bluegrass and banjo icon Earl Scruggs, to Chris Wood's British Columbia farmstead and Jano Rix' salsa dancing. All that and more, including excerpts of songs from their ninth album, Puff Of Smoke, awaits you here. Wolfie dissects yet another defeat for Ange Postecoglou and Forest! To Buy Wolfie A Coffee! Click Here: https://buymeacoffee.com/forestfantv Wolfie dissects this frustrating Premier League defeat at St James' Park on Sunday afternoon, with Postecoglou's Reds now winless in seven. Bruno Guimarães scored in the 58th minute, and new signing Nick Woltemade added late on second with a penalty for a 2-0 Newcastle win—Forest managed just 0.27 xG, raising doubts about Ange's defensive shift from his usual Angeball flair, with neither seem to be working right now. Elliot Anderson's penalty concession—fouling his ex-teammate Guimarães—highlighted the irony of facing his boyhood club, while Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs-White toiled without service. Injuries to Murillo, Douglas Luiz, Ola Aina and Zinchenko forced makeshift changes, but the result was the same: a toothless display that echoed recent woes, with Forest now 17th and staring down the barrel of relegation fears. Will Ange be sacked during the international break, with Evangelos Marinakis' patience thinning amid unrest rumours and zero wins? Wolfie ponders the chances of Marinakis making Ange the quickest sacking in Premier League history. Share your thoughts in the comments on the game and his future—stay or go? Follow FFTV on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/officialfftv/ Wolfie kicks off the buildup to Sunday's Premier League clash at St James' Park, where Forest, winless in six under Ange Postecoglou, face a tough test after their 2-3 Midtjylland loss. Injury woes dominate the headlines with Murillo, Douglas Luiz, Ola Aina and Oleksandr Zinchenko all doubtful due to hamstring or thigh issues, leaving Ange scrambling for options. For the expected lineup, Wolfie talks through his expected line-up for the match, and will Ange stick with the 3 at the back formation or switch to his prefered 4231 style. As for striker will Igor Jesus keep his place or will former Newcastle strike Chris Wood come back into the fold? Will Murillo potentially injured does Cunha have any chance of playing? Could this be Ange's last stand with Evangelos Marinakis' patience wearing thin amid dressing room unrest rumours and a potential sacking looming? Newcastle's recent 7-2 aggregate win streak over Forest adds pressure, but does Wolfie have any hope for this game?. Forest are back in Europa League action, but can new manager Ange Postecoglou get his first win? Check out FFTV Merch! Click Here: https://forestfantv.com/ Wolfie is here to gear you up for Thursday's Europa League showdown at the City Ground, where Ange Postecoglou's Reds host the Danish powerhouse FC Midtjylland in what could be a turning point after five winless games. Midtjylland come in flying high after a 2-0 victory over Sturm Graz in their opener, boasting a clinical attack led by Franculino Dju's nine goals this season, but Forest's home advantage and Ange's continental pedigree make this a winnable fixture—Wolfie shares his thoughts on how the Reds can finally break their duck and build momentum. Wolfie dives into his predicted teamsheet: expect a bold 4-3-3 with Igor Jesus spearheading the attack after his Betis brace, potentially edging out Chris Wood for a start to inject pace into Angeball's high-pressing transitions—will the Brazilian's finishing fire earn him the nod? Will Zinchenko be kept at left back or would Ange be tempted to switch him to a midfield role? How do you see this one playing out—a gritty 2-1 Forest win to give Ange his first triumph, or will Midtjylland's set-piece threats expose vulnerabilities? Can Ange Postecoglou get his first win as Nottingham Forest manager? Lots of Forest Prizes To Win! For Only 39p! https://win.footballprizes.co.uk/forestfftv Wolfie is here to look ahead to Saturday's Premier League showdown at the City Ground, where new manager Ange Postecoglou makes his home debut still searching for that elusive first win after a mixed bag of draws and defeats. With Forest sitting 15th and Sunderland impressively seventh with eight points from five games, this fixture is a must-not-miss—Wolfie breaks down the stakes, from Angeball's potential to shine under the lights to the Black Cats' strong second-half scoring threat that could test the Reds' resolve. Wolfie dives into his expected team lineup, weighing who should start for the Reds: Igor Jesus looks guaranteed to lead the line after his stunning brace in the 2-2 Europa League draw against Real Betis, marking Forest's first European goals in 30 years and putting him ahead of Chris Wood for now. Midfield maestro Morgan Gibbs-White could pull the strings, with Douglas Luiz anchoring, but the big question is the defence—will Murillo be back fit after recovering well from his knock against Arsenal, boosting the backline alongside Morato? Neco Williams impressed at Burnley, so expect him to hold the right flank. #nffc #sunderland #premierleague Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is taking public comments on the proposal to rescind the 2001 Roadless Rule, which affects 45 million acres of our national forests. Why is this such a big deal? Why are we throwing this baby out with the bathwater? Join Hal and Trout Unlimited President and CEO Chris Wood, who knows this subject inside and out and was working for the U.S. Forest Service in the late 1990s--when the Roadless Rule was created after decades of study, conflict, watershed failures, and the quest for both balance and fiscal responsibility in public lands' management. You'll learn why the Roadless Rule is not only essential to conserving the backcountry experiences we cherish but also the fiscally responsible way to manage these intact landscapes. And then join BHA in opposition to rescinding the Roadless Rule and ask your member of Congress to instead support the Roadless Area Conservation Act, legislation that would codify the Roadless Rule as law by visiting BHA's Take Action center.
