Why do some movies not get it right? Who knows. We add our flavor and try to make them better.
Well its Adam Sandler in space with a spider, nough said. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
Back in Snyderville with zombies. So many ideas that could payoff in a different movie. There are like 5 separate movies here. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
Just go watch Space Balls or any popular movie in the last 20 years and you will have seen this one. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
Happy Merry Christmas!!! If you need a John Wick like Santa movie here you go. It is fun and full of Xmas cheer. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
What is there to say about a movie that is not clear as to why our main character now how supernatural powers? Not much. It is messy and feels rushed. Pass. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
I don't think this movie is super high art or an intellectual movie. It is worth a watch, go check it out! Happy Halloween. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
It's another Batman. Had to let this one marinate for a moment, the heat die down before forming a real opinion. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
Back for more TMNT talk. Just see it, its pretty good. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
Mr.Worthington so nice to see you again. Fractured really tries to make you think something is going on, but there is nothing there. Is he sane or stumbled onto a hospital conspiracy? You decide. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
What does a youth that reads to an old man and a cell phone have in common? Who knows, this movie will not tell you. Is technology bad? Can we speak to the dead with phone? Come on movie give me something. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
I had a hard time saying I Robot and called it I am Robot, maybe this movie has taken over my brain more than I thought. This is a solo cast due to scheduling issues. Not a fan of this one. Once again there is a great idea hiding some where in there. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
I was not a big fan of this one either, not as good a Cloverfield, even though just years apart. The director has gone on to make some interesting looking movies, so maybe doing a "found footage" movie is a good way to start a career into film making, it has worked for some. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
I think something is lost when you don't know another cultures mythology. This might be a better movie if we had more exposure to Troll lore and how it fits within Norwegian beliefs. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
We are back! Sort of. Warriors of Future is what you get when you use popular words from better movies, like SKYNET. The film is ambitious and for that reason I applaud all those that made it. I think they got in their own way. The core idea is not bad but they over stuffed it with so many other details it becomes hard to follow. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
This will be our last episode. Hopefully not the end of Movie Rewrite. We may come back, only time will tell. Thanks for listening. I thought this movie was going to be different than what it was. It's a slow burn and the payoff is interesting. (?) The cast is fine, very minimal and I think it's asking you some kind of question but I cannot be sure. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
We think most people can identify with the premise of this one. When do you stand up for yourself? How far do you take it? What is the meaning of life? The movie asks the viewer to look at how they treat other people. If the movie bothers you, maybe you're the A-hole. WWJD. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
Oh man, another movie with a single camera and basically one actor. Unfortunately, it is also a remake of a not very old foreign movie. We like Jake but not this movie so much. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
You will not get hypnotized but you might fall asleep. Some interesting ideas and premisses that go nowhere. We get confused on if she was actually at the house recreating memories or if he was just telling her memories. Who knows? Who cares? This is a sleeper. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
Some interesting questions are raised in this flick. We decide that we would not roll the dice and take a pill to see if we got powers. Our luck would be we would either blow up or get a lame power, so not worth the risk. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
We talk about another Frank Grillo movie but decide this is a fairly good one. Jake cannot remember why he wrote "my dick and balls are cold" while watching it. I think we could all use more Frank Grillo in our lives. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
I will admit this was a fun one. For a buddy cop/not cop movie it is pretty good. Overall not a terrible premise but also not totally original. It's so terrific you will get a headache. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast
Well, this was a doozy all the way around. This is our first attempt to record separately and it was less than ideal. As for the movie... It was fine. A basic boilerplate film that was inspired by a real person. It found it to be a cut and paste of other films and this one adds a layer of what it means to be a mother. (?) It is fine, as one review puts it "you already pay for the service so watch it." movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger
We end the Netflix review of "sci/fi" with TAU. A tale of a lady teaching a machine so that she can escape a mad scientist. I guess. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger
The Titan? Well, what can be said about a movie that kinda makes no sense? movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger
This movie is mildly better. Some better actors and an interesting plot but does it make a good Netflix movie? movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger
We start the new year off with a Netflix "original" movie. It's not great and that it was why we are here. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger
Well damn, the trailer made me think there was more Christmas. All well. So another Childs Play movie. What can we say? It's updated to reflect our dependence on technology? Why does this movie exist? It had its moments. And for disclosure, we recorded 4 episodes back to back because of scheduling issues, so our tanks were getting dry during this one. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
Do I seek out musicals? No. Do I like this one? Yes. Zombies...Christmas...Dancing...Singing... Yes Please. It is for sure worth a watch. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
Oh, father/brother we had a miscommunication. We watched different movies. Jake was really confused when I started talking. This is what happens when movies have the same name and the year is the only thing to differentiate them. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
Merry early Christmas. Well, we talk about landlines and about an old scary Christmas movie. It was kinda fun. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
We end our "scary" Halloween movies with a film that we find to be fun. Yes, there are issues but I am a sucker for Alien-like movies. The action starts very quickly and just keeps going. It is a fine movie, worth a viewing. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
Halloween talk is winding down with a snooze of a movie, Cell. What is going on in this movie? Why is it so hard for a Stephen King novel to be a good movie? We discuss and have lots of questions. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
Is it a scary movie? A thriller? A murder mystery? White Noise is all three. This movie has it all. Static on TV, static on the radio. Long shots of pondering while in front of a static-filled TV. Listening for voices and searching for images in the static. This is a nonstop thrill ride of nothing. So boring. Happy Halloween. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
I miss spoke! Critters 4 was released in 1992, I have a hard time reading. So we discuss Critters. For the time this was a pretty good movie. Of course, there are some issues with the plot but that is to be expected. It is worth at least one viewing. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
Some trouble with the recording but I tried to fix it in post. Not the best but not the worst. Willy's Wonderland is our second "scary" movie to celebrate Halloween. It is a fun watch. There are some shortcuts taken in order to move the plot along but it's a "horror" movie so all is forgiven(?) movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
Oh boy, this Woo film was something else. It was like genre ideas were just pulled out of a hat and then filmed. That is one way to make a storyboard. Glad we are done with John Woo films, all though I do need to go back watch his "good" early stuff. We realized Manhunt had a huge flaw in the first 10 minutes that kind of derails the whole thing. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
Another John Woo movie. We have a hard time understanding how technology is supposed to work. Can he really change his future? It's not like he can trial and error the scenerios. All well. This movie is what it is. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
The memory of this movie has betrayed us. We thought it was cooler than it was back in the day. Faceoff has star power but we are here for Woo. We found this film to be confusing and lacking in some areas. The choices that were made are fascinating. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
We watched another Travolta movie and revisited director John Woo. Travolta plays a pilot gone rogue and steals two nukes. Can his once copilot/friend stop him? Broken Arrow works as an action movie, just turn your brain off and let the action overtake you. And Explosions. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
At long last here we are, MK 2021. We did watch this soon after its release but because we did the other MK movies this podcast is months out. This scratches some of the itches we had with the other movies but also does not explain a whole lot. The movie suffered from a terrible trailer syndrome which made it seem a lot dumber than it is. Is it a perfect movie? Hell no! But it was stupid fun to watch. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
The first 5 minutes of this movie pack quite the punch. Blood, guts, decapitations... this is Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge. This movie has a decent plot and very good action. It was nice to finally see some justice done to this franchise, movie-wise. It was a fun watch, recommend. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
We are back with Mortal Kombat Annihilation! Could the start of this movie look any worse? The movie suffers from not having a cohesive plot, good fights, or introducing new characters. It feels like the movie was rushed to be put out without having a finished script. It was the 90's and the video was popular, like super popular. Strike while the iron is hot, as they say. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
This movie is hardly a flawless victory, more like a win by default cause the other team didn't show up. We take a look back on a video game adaption that needed a lot more. The plot is thin, it only serves to get us to fights which are not great. Again, how do you have a mature-rated video game and a movie rated pg-13? I want to blame the times but it still happens. We hope that the 2021 reboot will be something to talk about, in a good way. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
A movie based on a graphic novel, The Coldest City, AKA Atomic Blonde AKA blue filter activate. Who did what and when? Did this story really happen? The movie moves so fast that you don't get to ask questions but once it is over... well there are a lot of questions. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
What do you get when you make a spy thriller and add some jazzy beats? Haywire. This whole movie hinges on a random dear stopping a car causing our hero to get caught. The dear might have a relative that showed up in Tommy Boy. Notice how the movie is hardly mentioned? Yeah, it's hard to talk about. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
Peppermint, a movie about a mother's revenge, killing those that took her loved ones away. We think that this plot could have been restructured in some areas just to make it more different than say...Punisher or Batman. The movie is just okay, not really special, could have been if it had some originality. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
We start our next movie set with the theme of a female-driven action/spy thriller. AVA...this movie feels like there were two half done scripts laying around, one being a family drama and the other an assassin movie. Combine the two and you get AVA. We found this movie boring and lacking in originality. How do you have such a terrible looking CG grenade? movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
We finish our first set of four movies that have a common theme with Devil. This was an interesting one. The premise is interesting but the execution is bad. For a movie that has Devil in the title, we could have used a lot more Lucifer. The good(?) name of M. Night could not get this movie where it needed to go. Bad Things Happen For A Reason On any ordinary day, our lives are filled with chance encounters and random events. But today everything happens for a reason. This fall, one of these five people is not who they appear to be. From Universal Pictures comes a new nightmare from the mind of M. Night Shyamalan. Five strangers trapped. One of them is not what they seem. The Night Chronicles Begin. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
Arnold plays Jericho Cane, a sweet name by the way, who has lost his family and faith in God. Maybe Satan can turn him around. End of days tries to cash in on the Y2K crazy and add a little devil into the mix. It has lots of Satan, cult people, and a helicopter chase. This movie did not think through some of its ideas, go figure. The ultimate battle of good versus evil.Prepare for the end.The end is nearWhen the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison.Prepare.Prepare for the end of days.On the eve of the Millenium, an ex-cop torn by loss must regain his faith in order to quell the end of days. You will bear witness to the End of Days... movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
The 9th Gate or AKA Book Detective is a couple of steps above Devour but ends up being confusing. There really is no point in what is going on. There is no ticking clock and no rhyme or reason for the events. Satan just makes it so hard for his/her followers to find and summon him. What's the deal with that? “There's nothing more reliable than a man whose loyalty can be bought for hard cash.” Every book has a life of its own... Leave the Unknown Alone. The only thing more terrifying than searching for the Devil... is finding him. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
We start off your movie 4 set with a common theme. This set deals with the Devil. Somehow we managed to talk longer than this movie's run time and be our longest podcast yet. We try our hardest to understand this movie. It has so many ideas that lead to nowhere. While it has some good ideas not one of them is fully explored, shame. Maybe Devour is more conceptual than we gave it credit for. We are really not sure what to make of it. Is the Devil a character? Who was really at the end of the movie? Can these questions be answered? Doubt it. Long live Dean Winchester. Don't Get Mad. Get Evil. movierewrite1@gmail.com find us on Facebook: movie rewrite podcast Music from https://freesound.org/ foolboymedia_rave digger type_writer
