In this episode of the Film Ireland podcast, Gemma Creagh sits down with Dungannon actor Fra Fee to chat about his impressive catalogue of work that spans stage, film & TV, while delving into those key moments that shaped his career. From his breakout screen role as Courfeyrac in Les Misérables to performances in local films including Animals & Boys From County Hell, Fra has built a strong presence on screen, balancing indie projects against large-scale productions like Hawkeye on Disney+ & Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon. Now, Unchosen is available to stream on Netflix, in which he plays the enigmatic & manipulative Sam. Fra discusses his approach to this complex, morally ambiguous role, the contrast in working across different mediums, & how he develops a character from script to performance. This podcast has been made possible with the support of the Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland Stakeholders Fund.Listen now to the podcast on SoundCloud, Apple, Spotify, Acast & Amazon, subscribe to Film Ireland wherever you get your podcasts or watch the original recording back:https://www.filmireland.net/podcast-actor-fra-fee-unchosen-rebel-moon-hawkeyeAbout Fra FeeImmediately after graduating from the Royal Academy of Music, Dungannon actor Fra landed a role in the West End production of Dirty Dancing. Since then, he has worked consistently across stage & screen. Recently, Fra Fee starred in the leading role of Emcee in the Olivier Award-winning production of Cabaret in the West End. Fra also appeared in Jez Butterworth's critically acclaimed run, The Ferryman at the Royal Court Theatre, London's West End & on Broadway. Fra won the 2018 WhatsOnStage Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Play, for his role in the show. Fra's other theatre credits include Translations & As You Like It, both at the National Theatre, the World Premiere of The Wind in the Willows, & the title role in Candide at the Menier Chocolate Factory. On screen, Fra is known for his portrayal of Courfeyrac in Tom Hooper's film adaptation of Les Misérables. In 2021, he appeared as Kazi in the Disney+ series Hawkeye, which is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He worked with director Zack Snyder, starring as Balisarius in Rebel Moon Part 1 & 2. He also had roles in Animals, Boys From County Hell, Pixie & The Laureate.UnchosenAll six episodes are available to stream on Netflix now.Molly Windsor & Asa Butterfield (Sex Education) star alongside Christopher Eccleston, Siobhan Finneran, & Fra in the series from Intergalactic writer/creator Julie Gearey. This psychological thriller takes viewers behind the closed doors of a fictional conservative religious sect.Unchosen follows Rosie, who lives in a cloistered Christian community with her husband, Adam (Butterfield) & their daughter. The fateful arrival of the mysterious Sam, an escaped prisoner, throws into relief the reality & restraints of Rosie's world: Perhaps her hidden religious community doesn't have her best interests at heart. As cracks begin to appear in Rosie & Adam's marriage, Sam presents himself as Rosie's savior. But with his dark criminal past, where does the greatest danger lie - with the cult, or with Sam?Sam is an escaped convict who was arrested as a teen for a deadly crime. He quickly integrates himself into the fellowship & uses his powers of coercion to become a pillar of the community. While balancing an affair with Rosie & flirtation with Adam, Sam lives in fear of being sent back to prison. “He is fiercely intelligent, highly manipulative, & able to get what he wants by abusing other characters' insecurities or their weaknesses,” Fee tells Tudum. “A lot of the time, I don't think it's necessarily premeditated. He's just very reactionary & a real survivor.” Figuring out how to play Sam was a lesson in embracing the grey areas. Because the character's intentions were often murky & complex, Gearey encouraged Fee to never “fully dot the i's or cross the t's” in scenes. “There always had to be room for an alternative intention,” Fee explains. Over the years, the podcast has featured acclaimed guests such as Phyllida Lloyd, Lenny Abrahamson, M. Kevin, Grayson, and The Chief actually found a little bit of FC Cincinnati news to talk about during this mini mid-season offseason. A new transfer rumor from Scotland has us realizing Albright and Noonan have a TYPE. Does it make sense, and where else could they be adding. Also Noonan spoke at a team Q&A event and gave some interesting answers about Dado, the team, and possible additions. Then finally in Part Two it's the long awaited review of Rebel Moon Part 2, and it's as bad as you think it will be. Wow we haven't done one of these in awhile. The next in our 2024 year end wrap lists, and we're doing a worst of list. The last time I did one of these was for 2021. But a special kind a year requires a special kind of list. Dom is joined by Luk, Kristen & Mac, newly engaged, to break down the suckiest of the suck, the absolute worst that 2024 movies had to offer, and boy were there some stinkers. The infamous Sony trinity of shit that officially killed off their cinematic Spider-Man efforts for good, Matthew Vaughn's failed attempt to make a Kingsman spinoff (sort of), Red One, Rebel Moon Part 2, some truly awful entries in the horror genre, and some that nobody had even heard of. It's another eventful list right here on the #talkintvpodcast

Rebel Moon – Part Two Director's Cut: Curse of Forgiveness is the ultimate payoff to our team of rebels coming together. Essentially, it all culminates in one massive battle scene, where each of our heroes gets their due. It is a visual feast of explosions, violence, and destruction. And, quite frankly, it is awesome. In the PG-13 cut, The Scargiver, the majority of the battle scenes were in tact; but what makes the Director's Cut so superior is all the small moments of connective tissue it adds. Our investment in the team, as well as the townspeople of Veldt is much greater with the added context. If you choose to watch one version, then Curse of Forgiveness is the way to go. Now, sit back, annihilate your tastebuds with a Suckerpunch Dill Pickle Sour from Destihl, find her, and fight! The Thunderous Wizard (@WriterTLK), Bling Blake, and Chumpzilla are laying the smack down to the Motherworld's forces with an antler in each hand! Rebel Moon – Part One Director's Cut: Chalice of Blood is the far superior version of the saga's first installment. Sadly, very few people tuned into the director's preferred vision of the film when it dropped on Netflix eight months after the PG-13 cut. Chalice of Blood fixes many of the issues from the trimmed down one, providing much needed connective tissue and time for the viewer to breathe. It also enriches the depth of each out heroes—character beats and moments sorely lacking in A Child of Fire. Hyper violent, full of eccentric alien creations, and starring a host of excellent actors, Chalice of Blood deserved a better fate than to be lost in the massive catalogue of its streaming service. Even if you disliked the PG-13 cut, the fully realized R version truly warrants a watch. Now, sit back, prepare for battle with a Vortices Double Hazy IPA from Dark Sky Brewing, and never trust a smuggler! The Thunderous Wizard (@WriterTLK), Bling Blake, and Chumpzilla are assembling a team of the most badass folks in the galaxy for a showdown with the Motherworld! We had to do it. We had to return to that ol' Rebel Moon to see what happened to all our favorite space pals, like... uh... there was the one guy who trained like, a bird dragon? And, um... Lady Sword-haver? And Charlie Hu-- no, wait, he was killed in the first one because he was a traitor. There's definitely a Scargiver in this one, though. That one we're 100% on. Oh Zack Snyder. This week's episode of the Empire Podcast is a smash, folks. First off, Alex Godfrey talks to ace actor Mike Faist, star of Luca Guadagnino's new tennis movie, Challengers [23:12 - 37:33 approx.], and then Chris Hewitt has a Zoom session (apologies if the sound is slightly distorted — tech issues) with Kerry Condon, Oscar-nominated star of The Banshees Of Inisherin, voice of F.R.I.D.A.Y. in the MCU, and star of this week's Liam Neeson thriller, In The Lands Of Saints And Sinners. [57:25 - 1:15:29 approx.] Either side of those, Chris hosts in the podbooth and is joined by Helen O'Hara, James Dyer and, for a spell, Sophie Butcher, to discuss the week's movie news, including the latest Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, review Challengers, In The Land Of Saints And Sinners, Boy Kills World, and Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver, and tackle a listener question that has stuck around from last week, and mutated somehow into a Mount Rushmore of directors' tenth movies. Play along at home, why don't you? Enjoy.
This week on Nerds Talking The Podcast, the hosts kick things off with a discussion on different types of movie experiences, setting the stage for their review of the Deadpool/Wolverine movie trailer. After dissecting the trailer, they dive into the main event: the much-anticipated Zack Snyder film, Rebel Moon 2: The Scargiver on Netflix. Directed by Zack Snyder and co-written with Kurt Johnstad and Shay Hatten, this epic space opera is a direct sequel to Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire (2023). The story unfolds on the moon of Veldt, where Kora and her band of warriors venture to aid farmers in defending their home against the Motherworld. As the film progresses, Kora and the surviving warriors return to Veldt, believing they have thwarted Admiral Noble's plans and prevented the impending assault to claim the planet's food supplies. However, they soon learn from Aris, a Motherworld soldier turned double agent, that Noble is alive and the dreadnought ship will arrive in just five days. With time running out, Kora and the fighters join forces with the villagers to harvest the entire grain supply in three days. The goal is to use the flour as leverage to prevent the Motherworld forces from bombing the village from orbit. Over the remaining two days, Titus, played by [insert actor name], trains the villagers to fight, preparing them for the inevitable confrontation with Noble's forces. Tune in to Nerds Talking The Podcast as the hosts share their thoughts on the Deadpool/Wolverine movie trailer and their review of Rebel Moon 2: The Scargiver. Will it live up to the hype? Phew! After last week's single-guest situation, we're back to our bumper-sized best on this week's Empire Podcast. One of our favourite interviewees, Dan Stevens, returns to the pod after a brief hiatus, to tell Chris Hewitt all about his new film, Abigail, and his all-timer of a character intro in Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire. Warning: Chris and Dan also discuss the origin of Dan's true character name in Abigail, which some might consider a mild spoiler. So be careful! Chris also has a lovely chat this week with Ed Skrein and Fra Fee, the villainous duo from Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver. The trio talk about many things — accents, acting, Northern Ireland — but not, repeat, not football. And finally, the two Alex Gs — Godfrey and Garland — get together for a deep dive into Civil War, in an extended excerpt from our forthcoming spoiler special interview. Either side of that little lot, Chris is joined in the podbooth by Alex Godfrey, Sophie Butcher, and the late James Dyer (he's not dead, he just didn't show up on time) for a fun and occasionally deranged episode in which they discuss filmmakers who have made ten films, the week's movie news including Quentin Tarantino reportedly putting The Movie Critic to one side, and review Abigail, Sometimes I Think About Dying, and The Book Of Clarence. Enjoy.
The ComicBook Nation Crew reviews Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver, Guy Ritchie's Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and Radio Silence's new horror flick Abigail. TV recaps include big things happening in Fallout, X-Men '97, and Shogun. PLUS our first reactions to the Transformers: ONE trailer, Netflix's The Witcher gets its Final Season, and a preview of the AEW Dynasty event!
