Open Your Eyes with McKay Christensen

In this week's episode, McKay discusses the importance of an abundance mindset. He opens the podcast by discussing Britney Bowe's Olympic history and her decision to give up her spot in the 2022 Olympic trials to Erin Jackson. This selfless act hardly granted Bowe a medal, but it led Jackson to win gold in the women's 500 m speed skating event. Christensen argues that this is a prime example of abundance thinking and grace. Because humans tend to resent and envy the success of others, especially those in close proximity, Christensen urges the audience to replace envy and resentment with grace. He then goes on to detail another Olympic tale between Mikaela Shiffrin and Sophia Goggia. After Shiffrin practiced with Goggia's skis and got her fastest time, Goggia gave Shiffrin her skis before an event in the hopes that she might be as successful in the competition as she was in practice. The story exemplifies how abundance and grace can transform our attitudes and help others in a positive way. In contrast, McKay then tells the audience about the tense relationship between Thomas Edison and his once student, Nikola Tesla. When Edison dismissed and admonished Tesla for one of his suggestions, Tesla quit and decided to patent his own ideas. He eventually received the notoriety he deserved and was tasked with engineering Chicago's famous World Fair instead of Thomas Edison. McKay segues into the episode's conclusion where he discusses the inherent value of personal worth and security that comes from an abundant mindset. He closes out the podcast with a quick anecdote about Jesse Owens and Luz Long's friendship that blossomed from the 1936 Olympic Games. Long is rumored to have given Owens advice before his gold medal run, despite being Owens' opposition. While Owens came out on top, the pair developed a lifelong friendship in the face of a disapproving Nazi Germany. Long story short, McKay advises that if we truly believe that there is enough success and happiness to go round, prosperity will come. The Finer Details of This Episode:The story of Britney Bowe giving up her spot so that Erin Jackson could win GoldThe importance of rejoicing in others' victoriesWhat abundant thinking isWhy we resent others' successMen envy occupational success; women envy physical attractivenessWhy we envy close friends moreHow to replace envy with graceSophia Goggia gifting Mikaela Shiffrin her skis for an eventEdison's scarcity mentality and how he devalued Tesla's ideasThe inherent value of personal worth and securityThe friendship between Jesse Owens and Luz LongQuotes: “Every day, in most things we do, we have a choice. We can see things as scarce, like the chances to win a race at the Olympics and decide not to help or cheer others on, or we can see things as abundant—that there is more than enough for everyone.”“I believe one of the most powerful characteristics you can develop in life, one that will reward you for years to come, is to rejoice in the other person's victory.”“It's common that our reaction to other people's success isn't always positive. We tend to draw comparisons between what we have and what we perceive others are having—our thoughts get distorted and what they have grows in our minds and what we have shrinks at the same time.”“In one survey, more than 74% of respondents reported experiencing major envy recently in their lives. Surprisingly, researchers found that we most often envy others of our own gender.”“When you take envy out of your heart, it needs to be replaced with something, otherwise the void will be filled with envy again. So what do you fill it with? Grace.”“Most people

I just got back from St. Louis.   It was my first time there and I met a wonderfully rich collection of people who I'm so excited to introduce you to in a special on-the-ground, in-the-street, from-the-backseat Chapter of 3 Books.   On the way from the airport to the hotel, the driver regaled me with St. Louis trivia from a deep well of St. Louis pride. “Did you know we hosted the World Fair and the Olympics the same year?” he asked. I knew about the World Fair! “Most do,” he said. “But not many know about the Olympics. 1904 was a banner year here. We were the fourth largest city in the US at the time!”   The next day I had time to explore. I knew there was a local bird species that didn't exist anywhere else in the country! The Eurasian Tree Sparrow was one of six species of birds brought to St. Louis in 1870 by German immigrants. The other five died that winter, but the Tree Sparrow still lives near Lafayette Park where it was first released. It has thrived without expanding its range or disrupting the local ecology.   After I got an address to try and find the birds, I hailed an Uber and met Jacqueline, who drove a bus in town for 27 years. When I asked her for the best thing about St. Louis she said, “Nothing! Watch your back or somebody gonna put a bullet in your head.” Our raw conversation touches on the erosion of community, the deprioritization of connection, and how we might find new kinds of support in our disconnected world. “My family is whoever loves on me,” Jacqueline said. “Blood makes you kin but it doesn't make you family.”   I then met Deneane, a 28-year-old single mother of five who does drop-off, pick-up, and evenings solo every day while driving Uber thirty hours a week, working at a cupcake shop, and running a small business online. We went to the Gateway Arch and Left Bank Books together while talking about enduring—after her mom found bruises all over her body, she left her abusive relationship and “found the strength to start over.”   The next morning I gave the talk that sent me down there and then got a final ride to the airport with Albano from Albania, who left his job as a public school teacher in Florida to make more than double as a driver. “Unfortunately,” he said, “if teaching was something others would care about, teachers wouldn't leave the profession.”   I hope you feel a kinetic pulse listening to stories from people whose stories aren't often told. Get ready to laugh, cry, and connect hearts as we tether ourselves to the human connection that exists around us every day.   Let's head down to St. Louis and hang out with Jacqueline, Deneane, and Albano as they share the love and connection we are always searching for on 3 Books.   Let's flip the page to Chapter 136 now…

Full of comedy, danger, and cheating. Travel back in time with Curator 135 and learn about all of the shenanigans that took place. It got so bad that the International Olympic Committee tried to have marathons removed from further Olympic games. Support the show

In this episode, we dive into the captivating cities and areas of Tennessee and North Carolina, sharing our experiences and impressions. Our exploration of these regions has uncovered both delightful surprises and some aspects that left us wanting more. Here's a summary of our thoughts:Memphis: Known for its rich history and deep connection to the legendary Elvis Presley, Memphis left a nostalgic impression on us. We appreciated the historical significance and the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the culture. However, it's important to note that the city's high crime rates and visible signs of urban decay were concerning factors that impacted our overall experience.Knoxville: As a larger city, Knoxville managed to strike a balance between vibrancy and tranquility. We were pleasantly surprised by the peaceful atmosphere, especially considering its size. The World Fair and the green spaces provided enjoyable recreational options. The only downside we encountered was the traffic, which posed occasional challenges.Asheville, NC: Our visit to Asheville was a mixed bag. The city's River Arts District stood out as a highlight, showcasing an array of artistic talent and creativity. However, we had reservations about the local culture and the attitudes we observed. The prevalence of younger individuals easily influenced by anti-government sentiments created a somewhat negative vibe. On a positive note, the breweries in Asheville were a definite plus, but as of now, we don't feel compelled to revisit the city.Chattanooga: Chattanooga left a lasting impression on us with its vibrant downtown atmosphere. Despite being a larger city, it retained a welcoming and accessible feel. The abundance of biking paths, running trails, and nearby hiking opportunities made it an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. We unanimously agreed that Chattanooga is a place we would gladly return to.Cherokee, NC: Our visit to Cherokee provided a unique opportunity to delve into the rich history and culture of the Cherokee tribe, showcasing the Native American heritage of the region. We found it fascinating to learn about their traditions and explore the area's historical sites. The experience left us with a deep appreciation for the Native American influence in the region.Overall, our adventure through South Eastern Tennessee and North Carolina was filled with memorable moments. Despite some drawbacks, such as crime rates in Memphis and the mixed cultural experience in Asheville, we believe this area has a lot to offer. From the historical significance of Memphis to the tranquil beauty of Knoxville, the vibrant energy of Chattanooga, and the rich Native American heritage in Cherokee, we encourage more people to explore and appreciate this captivating region."As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases." Google Adds Instagram-Like Story Tool to Hotel Search

Episode Notes Google is turning to a popular social media feature to help enrich the hotel search and booking process. The search engine has added an Instagram-like story tool to Google Travel, writes Travel Technology Reporter Justin Dawes.  Dawes reports users can view hotel options with access to information like location and price in a swipeable format somewhat similar to Instagram stories. The user would then be able to save the hotel, book directly on the hotel website, or access third-party links for booking. Dawes adds the previous ways to view search results are still available, but Google is simply providing another option for users who prefer a different format.  Next, the all-inclusive resort chain Club Med is looking to capitalize on its post-pandemic boom. So the company is opening new properties and launching a marketing campaign as part of a push to go upmarket, reports Senior Hospitality Editor Sean O'Neill. Club Med recently announced that 97 percent of its resorts are now premium, a shift that was years in the making. At the Skift Global Forum in 2016, its leadership expressed a desire to move upmarket and target affluent millennial families. The company just opened a $200 million Club Med Tignes where rooms can cost roughly $2,000 a night.  Meanwhile, Club Med has unveiled a new marketing campaign to help update consumer perceptions of the brand, including showcasing its Exclusive Collection resorts. One expert said Club Med's campaign reflects a trend where hotels are eager to cash in on the growing appetite for luxury. Finally, Spanish city Malaga is looking to host the Expo 2027 World Fair. So what does its strategy entail? Malaga is working with dozens of African destinations to make their tourism industries more sustainable, writes Travel Experiences Reporter Selene Brophy. Brophy reports Malaga would roll out skills-sharing pilots with several African countries before 2027 — if its bid is successful. Malaga's head of tourism, Jonathan Gomez Punzon, acknowledged its candidacy is not primarily about showcasing the Spanish city. He said Malaga wants to show cities worldwide how to incorporate sustainability in tourism.  Brophy cites South Africa as one destination interested in Malaga's skill-sharing program. South African Tourism Minister Patricia de Lille said the country could replicate Malaga's advances in technology and sustainability to improve its tourism industry. Meanwhile, an official from Sierra Leone said working with Malaga was a done deal.

Good morning from Skift It's Friday, March 24, 2023 For daily updates in your inbox, subscribe to the Skift Daily newsletter at skift.com/daily. And now, here's what you need to know about the business of travel today. Office buildings worldwide have struggled to lure back workers who have opted for remote life turning instead to locations such as hotels and coffee shops. But in a new twist of irony, managers of those offices could get a boost from platforms working to connect them with companies that have gone hybrid, reports Corporate Travel Editor Matthew Parsons in this week's Future of Work briefing. UK-based coworking booking platform AndCo has launched a new platform called NO HQ in response to the surge in remote working teams eager to use offices. Although many companies have either scaled back or gotten rid of their offices, AndCo co-founder Tom Wordie said some teams want a place to meet that's dedicated to them. NO HQ also aims to provide companies that kept their offices the opportunity to monetize spaces that sit empty.  Wordie said AndCo will test NO HQ in Amsterdam first before possibly expanding to New York. He expressed confidence that the platform could succeed in New York. Parsons notes the city is losing out on $12 billion annually because of remote work.  Next, speaking of Amsterdam, the Dutch city is looking to attract tourists it believes will help improve the quality of life for its residents. So it's working to reduce the appeal of its internationally known red light district, writes Global Tourism Reporter Dawit Habtemariam.  Habtemariam reports Amsterdam is launching a “Stay Away” campaign to discourage tourists primarily looking to party. The city is banning public consumption of cannabis in the red light district from mid-May. The neighborhood's bars and restaurants will also have earlier closing times. Amsterdam's mayor said the city wants visitors interested in its cultural institutions instead of those mainly coming to get stoned.   Habtemariam writes the huge party crowds have had a negative impact on business development in Amsterdam. One resident said the city is home to an endless stream of pancake shops because it's a major draw for stoned travelers. A Dutch government study found that nearly 60 percent of international tourists coming to Amsterdam do so to consume drugs. Finally, Dubai recently suspended a tax on alcohol and lifted fees on personal alcohol licenses to help boost tourism. However, Contributor Harriet Akinyi reports that neighboring destinations with strict alcohol curbs aren't taking similar steps.  Akinyi cites Qatar and Saudi Arabia as two Middle Eastern countries not looking to make alcohol more accessible for tourists. Qatar banned the sale of beer at World Cup venues when it hosted the soccer spectacle last year. Qatar Tourism Chief Operating Officer Berthold Trenkel said the decision contributed to a relaxed atmosphere at stadiums during the tournament. As for Saudi Arabia, a high ranking Saudi official admitted he doesn't see alcohol being allowed in the capital Riyadh by 2030. The city is bidding to host the Expo 2030 World Fair.

UBM Unleavened Bread Ministries

The Man-child, Bride, and Revival (2) (Audio) David Eells - 2/5/23   The Man-Child and Bride Wait Patiently for Revival Claire Pienaar - 11/14/20 (David's notes in red)   (In this dream, Claire represents the Bride because her name means “brilliant” and the Bride's garments are bright and pure as is spoken of in Rev. 19:8 And it was given unto her that she should array herself in fine linen, bright and pure: for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. And Riaan represents the Man-child because his name means, “little lion king.”)   I dreamed my husband, Riaan, and I were waiting in our van, at an old, derelict factory (The factory represents the defunct Babylonish system of apostate Christianity). The factory was 5 stories high. It had 3 grain silos outside towards the right of the building. (Representing the storage of their false teachings to feed their people.)   It looked like it was Autumn and… the grass was yellow and short, and the sand was a reddish-brown color. It looked like it was harvest time but this factory/farm had not been in operation for a very long time. (The apostate dead churches are drying up. They don't evangelize. Many churches out there have a very small percentage new congregants.)    Mat 9:37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest indeed is plenteous, but the laborers are few. 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth laborers into his harvest. Some windows were boarded up, others had thick layers of dust on them, and still others had been knocked out. (They are like social clubs. They have no insight into what is coming.)   We were sitting in our silver van… and, when I peered at the rear-view mirror, I saw the van looked like one of those double-buses with an accordion connection in the middle of it. It was a bright, blue, super long empty bus (Blue Represents the heavenly realm).(The Man-child and Bride are prepared to receive the people from these dried up churches. It was like when Jesus, the Man-child, came and began to draw many people who were spiritually starving in the pharisee's churches.)   We had a large, shiny, empty trailer hitched up to the back of the bus. The trailer was empty. (This represents the Bride and Man-child are expecting to receive much heavenly provision through faith for these new disciples.) (Riaan: Faith calls the things that are not as though they were. We are not walking by sight.)   Then I saw Angelica from UBMLocal. (Angelica means, “angelic and messenger”. Messengers in the Bible were both angelic and human.) She was co-piloting a white helicopter (Angelica represents the angels who are assigned to UBM and who do the Father's bidding and bring our supplies.)(Also, This represents sanctification of the air waves, represented by the white helicopter, through Angelica's work on the UBM-YouTube videos ministry). A silver haired man was on her left with a pale blue pilot's headphones over his ears. (Riaan: The helicopter is piloted by the Lord who has direct communication with Father through the Holy Spirit headphones.)    Angelica had small, pearl earrings in her ears. (Mat. 13:45-46 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is a merchant seeking goodly pearls: 46 and having found one pearl of great price, he went and sold all that he had, and bought it. The fact that she had these pearls in her ears shows that her “ear gate” is in complete tune with the Holy Spirit – she hears Him and is obedient and He has given her authority to fly this vehicle). (Riaan: A helicopter has direct access to the skies (or heavenlies) unlike an airplane that needs to take-off or build up speed on a runway.)   She and the man came in and landed twice, while we were waiting in the van, and hitched a crane pulley from the helicopter to big wooden crates and flew off again. (The provisions will be supplied out of heaven, like the quail and the manna.) (Riaan: The wooden crates are the “supplies/provisions” being sent in the air to the wilderness– representing the YouTube videos and other online/over-the-air teachings and material needs.)    There was no noise or wind as the helicopter descended and ascended; it was all very quick and peaceful. We knew she was going to a lush, green place (Representing our refuge in the wilderness Tribulation where many will be raised up in the Word to manifest Christ in the last, great revival. The saints went into the wilderness to listen to Jesus the Man-child.)   Then we saw the gate at the front end of the property start to close, and I said to Riaan “The gate's going to smash into the trailer…” and he said, “Ok, I'll swing it around”. He made a U-turn at rapid speed. (Time is running out for the apostate Church and the “door” is closing. God will turn things around quickly when the revival starts.) …We were both smiling and happy the gate didn't do any damage. In fact, the gate stopped closing and reversed, opening up again. We were still waiting, patiently. Then we both heard a trumpet in the far distance. Then I woke up. (This is the first trump to start the wilderness Tribulation.)   I received the following by faith at random when I woke up, Mat. 29:19-20 with my finger on the words, “Holy Spirit and always.” Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: 20 teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.    The Bride Will be One in Spirit for the Great Revival Tiannah Fire - 8/23/22 (David's notes in red) I dreamed I was at my house in Australia and my UBM sister in Christ, Marilyn, was at her house in the USA and instantly we started talking to each other in our mind or Spirit. I asked her how we were speaking like this and she said the Man-child anointing is here. My thoughts were instantly connected with her thoughts. I asked her to confirm that we were really talking to one another in Spirit or mind by sending me a text message in the physical and she sent me a text to confirm it. (This is just one of many gifts that the angels told us we would have during the end time revival. Angels can carry messages from God as well as people.)   From Ministering Angels Through UBM (3):    David asked, “What can you tell us about the supernatural methods to get the gospel out and heal, deliver and save?” The angel Baruch said, "The methods of man will not be employed to reach the peoples of the earth, in the days that are coming. The methods are all of the spirit realm and will be administered by the angels who are going to distribute the gifts to the saints. (Meaning, the sanctified ones) These include gifts of translation from place to place, languages, healings, laying on of hands to impart to others their needs and what they're lacking and to replicate the gifts by passing them on to others whom the angels will point out. Supernatural downloads of wisdom and knowledge will be received for specific situations.”    David asked, “What about deliverances?” The angel Baruch said, “The enemy will be on the run during this time. Deliverances will be instantaneous with no resistance on their part. (Many deliverances are this way now if there is cooperation on the part of the victim in repentance and faith.) They will no longer be able to hide in flesh because of the light of revival and the fire of truth that will sweep the elect of the globe.” (Eve said, I understood that he meant that the demons will be fleeing left and right out of people as the true fire of the Holy Spirit fills each one and searches the depths of each individual. There won't be any place left for them to hide in the elect of God.)   David asked, “Will there be mass healings and deliverances? The angel Baruch said, “Yes. These will all take place on the largest scale in human history.” (Eve said, I understood that he meant that masses of people will supernaturally be delivered and healed all at once for times sake because the need is so great and the darkness so pervasive.)   Back to Tiannah: I could also view in my mind or Spirit the other UBM brethren and what they were doing at that moment even though I wasn't physically there. I could also see what the enemy was trying to trick or attack them with and then was able to use my authority in Jesus to command the spirits off them instantly in Spirit through in my mind. (Jesus said in John 5:19 …I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing: for what things soever he doeth, these the Son also doeth in like manner.) After this, I saw Michael translate to another country and translate back to the USA. I heard in the Spirit, “Go get dressed because Michael will be here next.” … (Michael means, “Who is like God” and represents those who have manifested Christ being given these gifts.) Then I woke up. I asked God about this dream and heard, (paraphrasing) “This will be the primary means of communication.” I asked, “How?” and heard, "One in Spirit”. David's Teachings Will Reach Far Claire Pienaar - 9/22/21 (David's notes in red) I dreamed I was sitting in a white kitchen. (The white kitchen represents where the unleavened bread is fed to people.) It had a square stainless-steel table and 4 stainless steel chairs in the middle of the kitchen. (The stainless steel table and chairs represents an inability to corrupt or rust through.) I was sitting with an aboriginal woman. She was telling Riaan and I how bad mainline Christianity was and how David Eells was helping her disabled son. (Representing her spiritual fruit of Christ in her that has been disabled by false church doctrines.) We agreed and I remember thinking, “Wow! David's teachings are even reaching the first people groups of Australia". Then this same lady turned the topic to find out my background and I stopped telling her as I heard Holy Spirit say, “Your past doesn't matter anymore.” (It seems that the aboriginal people of Australia will gain access to the David Man-child reformer's teachings.) Then I woke up. African Visitors of the UBM Revival Eve Brast - 8/19/21 (David's notes in red)   (Eve is representing the corporate Bride of the last Adam in this dream.) I dreamed that it was almost dark outside and all local UBM were gathered outside of the UBM house. The area was lit up by street lights.   I was lying on the same cot that I had seen David lying on, in a previous dream where Michael and I had determined that he was dead. (This was the scene that followed the Trials at the World Fair dream in the series, “Tests Prove Who is the Bride (1)”.) (This represents that the Bride follows the Man-child David reformers into death and resurrection life.)   I was lying on my back on this cot and David and Michael carried me on this cot because I was weak and needed to rest and conserve my strength. (The rest is to cease from our works so that God's strength is ours. His power is made perfect in our weakness.)   I was observing myself in the spirit and saw that I had a white head covering on that had a large print of all sorts of colorful fruits on it. (The Bride will bear much fruit as she submits in purity to her heavenly Husband Jesus.)   To my right was a short line of white women with blonde hair who had translated over here from Africa. (In our dreams many will be translated here. Spiritually speaking, they are white with blonde hair because they have been purified by their faith in the cleansing blood of Jesus and are submitted to the Son/sun.) They had come all that way to meet me and were so excited to finally get to greet me in person. They said things to me like, “Oh! We are so honored to finally meet you! We have come a long way and are so blessed to be here with you now.” (The Bride will be honored among those with discernment.)   Each one took my hand in theirs with such love and admiration and warmth. Their excitement was palpable. They told me that they couldn't stay long; that they needed to take the UBM teaching materials back to their people in Africa. (UBM materials have been spreading through Africa very fast.)   I told them that I was so glad to meet them and that they had come, but that I had to apologize for not being able to stand up to give them a proper greeting.   David and Michael were standing over the cot and greeted the women also as they too apologized for my weakness but said something to the effect that I would soon be stronger than ever. Then I woke up. (Right now the Bride is relatively weak but soon they will be led by the Man-child with much authority and power just as it was with the first disciples. Rev 3:7  And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia (The Bride Church of brotherly love) write: These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth and none shall shut, and that shutteth and none openeth: 8  I know thy works (behold, I have set before thee a door opened, which none can shut), that thou hast a little power, and didst keep my word, and didst not deny my name.    9  Behold, I give of the synagogue of Satan, of them that say they are Jews, and they are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. 10  Because thou didst keep the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of trial, that hour which is to come upon the whole world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. 11  I come quickly: hold fast that which thou hast, that no one take thy crown.)   The UBM “Luke 9” Truck Arrives to Get the Word Out African Missionary/Pastor - 8/10/21 (David's notes in red)   I had this dream and God confirmed it through another brother, as well.   I dreamed it was daytime on Sunday... around 3pm in the afternoon. I felt like the Spirit of the Lord had something to tell me and I felt a bit sleepy. I was reading the Bible and I closed it and laid down on the carpet to rest.    As I was resting, I got this vision, "I saw, we were here at our home on our ministry grounds, and the whole grounds were fully packed with many brand new computers. I was with some people at home as we were wondering about these computers. (Computers represent the ability from our Father to get out much knowledge to many people easily and quickly. This is what this brother and ministry are doing but this shows it will happen on a much larger scale. Father is saying, they all are going to get the Word out in a very great way.)   While we were still there wondering about these new computers, a new truck came in. (It is new because this is coming.) These big trucks carry sand and sometimes luggage. It came in and backed into the ministry grounds and I ran to it.  I tried to climb it, to see what it had brought, but I could not see in there. It was tall and I tried to see who was driving it. I did not see anyone. It seems like the driver closed the doors so that no one could see him. (Father is hiding that He and His power is behind this great move of God to spread the gospel through this ministry to his country and beyond.)   So, in my striving to see what was in there, I heard a Voice tell me, "What are you looking for ? Can't you see? " and the voice said again, "Look at the back of the truck and read!" I went to the back of the truck and there was a big sign that said, "LUKE, 9” that I did not see before. After reading this, a certain Mexican man, probably living in the USA, came to me and asked me, "Man of God, help me to understand what this Bible verse means, "After God saved his people from Egypt, He destroyed them who did not believe in the wilderness.”    (Jude 1:5  Now I desire to put you in remembrance, though ye know all things once for all, that the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. (Many don't understand that we must continue to walk by faith to see all of our salvation and kingdom benefits. We are being tested in the wilderness of life as to whether we are truly a believer in the Word of God. As we know, many fell away and did not make it to the Promised Land. Jesus said the same in the parable of the sower.)   I looked at him and I was thinking, "This man knows English very well, better than me. Why is he asking me to explain to him something written in the language which he understands better than me?" As I was thinking about it all, the Spirit of the Lord reminded me of the Ethiopian official whom Phillip helped to understand scriptures. Then the Dream ended right there. (The knowledge that this minister has gained through the UBM materials will spread back to the foreigners, who are aliens to the kingdom of God, living in the USA.)   Early morning, the next day, a brother in our ministry came to me and told me that he had a vision, of God telling me to, "Read LUKE 9, all of that chapter and again to read Matthew 10, all of it." (This speaks of Jesus sending out the apostles to spread the gospel of deliverance from sin, sickness, demonic possession, and heavenly provision, everywhere. Jesus multiplying the fishes and loaves for the people to eat the food from heaven.) (This is what they are doing with computers and printers and we have many more books to share with them.)   In these texts Jesus was preaching the crucified self life. (Which the prosperity preachers in his country refuse to do. We have books for this too.) Jesus was glorified before them. (He will be glorified everywhere and in them.) Jesus was casting out demons from the people. (And especially demon doctrines.) Jesus was saying He was going to Jerusalem to be crucified by the false leadership. (Those who love the self life will speak evil of the brethren there and here.) Jesus was preaching to follow Him above all things.   Wow, so when I read Matthew 10 and Luke 9, they both read the same. (Mat 10:5-8  These twelve Jesus sent forth, and charged them, saying, Go not into any way of the Gentiles, and enter not into any city of the Samaritans:  6  but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.  7  And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.  8  Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons: freely ye received, freely give.) (And they will go forth with power.)   UBM has schools raising up many missionaries in foreign lands. Many of our missionaries are in danger of factions here and in their own lands. Many are in countries where Christianity is illegal and hated.  Some have been killed by their factious enemies just as it is here. We are stretched to our limit providing their ministry needs but our God has been faithful. As we can see from these testimonies, He has no limits to meet your needs and ours.      Man-child and Bride Enter Tribulation Eve Brast - 01/01/12 (David's notes in red)   …I dreamed I was in a hotel in the heavens with many brethren, above the continents of the Americas. (The true Church is a hotel in that it is many buildings built together, implying unity, into one holy temple in the Lord -- Ephesians 2:19-22. It is in the heavens because we who walk in the light and fruit of Christ are seated with Him in heavenly places, which is said to be in Him in Ephesians 2:6.) The hotel had many rooms, each with bathrooms in them. (to clean up and get rid of waste of the old life.) We had all been lying on our beds or kneeling next to them praying and interceding for the coming Man-child ministries and also cleansing ourselves in the bathrooms. There seemed to be an excitement among us all, like we were preparing for an event that was about to happen. (The anointing of the Man-child and the choosing of the Bride.) I was starting to become a little weary and frustrated, but I heard the Holy Spirit say, "Endure just a little while longer". (Part of the trial for the saints is to endure to the end which is the manifestation of Christ in you. 2Co. 4:7-11 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves;  8 we are pressed on every side, yet not straitened; perplexed, yet not unto despair; 9 pursued, yet not forsaken; smitten down, yet not destroyed; 10 always bearing about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our body. 11 For we who live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.)  I decided to go to the hotel lobby. (A hotel is a community of people, many houses built into one holy temple, like the Church is represented in Ephesians. The lobby is the government, the Man-child/Bride.) There were other brethren walking around the lobby and much preparation was going on (as Joseph prepared for the wilderness tribulation by storing up the food). Something made me stop and face the wall of the lobby and, as I did, a hole opened up in the wall and I saw an open vision. I saw Moses (the Man-child) kneeling down on both knees in white clouds (among the righteous people, the Bride). I was looking north toward the US and he was positioned in the clouds over the eastern half of the U.S. (where the vast majority of Christians are), facing east (toward the leadership and enlightenment of, and coming of, the Son in his life. This represents the Son manifested in the Man-child ministry by the latter rain and Word).  There was a very bright light shining on him and he had his hands up and was squinting, trying to look in that direction. His hair looked golden and was dripping with oil that glistened in the bright light. (This is just like the Man-child's hair in a previous vision. This oil on his hair represents submission to the anointing and righteousness of Jesus. The bright light in which he kneels is like that of Jesus when He was on earth.) He was wearing a white linen garment (representing holiness) and sandals. The oil had also soaked the shoulders of the garment. (As this was prophetic of Jesus, it is also prophetic of Jesus in the Man-child's anointing to carry the burden of the government of God's people: "The government shall be upon his shoulder. "{Isa.9:6} For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  {7} Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this. Notice that the establishment of the government of the throne of David was establishing the Kingdom of God on Earth -- (Luke 1:31,32; 1 Chronicles 29:23; 2 Chronicles 3:8.) Jesus, the Man-child and His disciples preached the Kingdom of God is nigh. He taught us to pray, "Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven". The Kingdom is where God's will is done and obeyed.)  But he was clean-shaven. (I asked the Father for a scripture for this dream and my finger fell on: {Isa.1:26} and I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy councilors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called The city of righteousness, a faithful town.) (This reveals a repetition of history in that the Man-child ministry will once again come to raise up the Bride, the city of David, Jerusalem, and lead the rest of Israel, as a type of the Church, through the wilderness tribulation, just as Moses did.) The voice of God spoke to him out of the light and said, "It's been 40 years". (The Man-child Moses coming out of 40 years of wilderness to lead God's people through the wilderness tribulation to the mountain of God, a type of His Kingdom.) Moses said to Him, "But I am so small. How shall I stand?" (This saying was Amos' complaint to God in Amos 7:1-6, when He threatened judgment, and so God relented. God will be merciful to the Man-child reformers and strengthen them, for in their weakness God's power is made perfect.)  I asked the Father for a scripture for this saying and my finger fell on: {Eze.11:15} Son of man (Speaking of Jesus in the Man-child), thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel, all of them, are they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from Jehovah: unto us is this land given for a possession. This whole text is a rebuke to the false leadership of God's people whose sins scattered God's people as we are seeing now in this world faction.  {16} Therefore say, thus saith the Lord: Whereas I have removed them far off among the nations, and whereas I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they are come. {17} Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord: I will gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. (After a brief time in captivity, God will lead the scattered people out to their spiritual and sometimes physical promised land by the hand of the Man-child reformers.) Then the hole closed and when I turned around all my brethren were hurrying to get ready to leave the hotel. (They were leaving to be a tabernacle in the wilderness.) There was much excitement because what we had been waiting for was finally happening. (Get ready, friends of God. After cleansing the body, it will be time to go to your own land of promise.) I had been dressed in a winter Army P.T. uniform, which is a grey, physical training sweatsuit. (The time for training to fight the enemy will be over.)  But now all the brethren were running to their bathrooms to change their clothes because it was time to follow Moses and because winter was ending and spring was starting. (After the winter of training and trial will come the spring of new life and they will leave for the wilderness land.) No one was taking anything with them (because all will be supplied Rev. 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that there they may nourish her a thousand two hundred and threescore days.).  I put on a short-sleeve camouflage t-shirt and some overall shorts. I noticed that my legs and feet were very white (winter just over). It was still a little too cool for me, so I brought my son Elijah's camouflage blanket to cover up with. (Representing his mantle of invisibility and protection. Spring is full of Biblical symbolism for the people leaving Egypt to go into the wilderness tribulation whenever this happens.  If we go by the Biblical Hebrew calendar, spring is the time for the New Year, proven by the new moon and heading up of the first-fruits Barley; the Biblical Passover of the Destroyer just before leaving Egypt with Moses; Biblical Feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days fed by the Man-child when they come out of Egypt, and Biblical Feast of First Fruits, a celebration of the First Fruits of God's people. Purim is the celebration of the Jews' deliverance from the beast. I suppose that could be like Israel delivered out of Egypt to go into the wilderness.) Suddenly, the scene changed and my UBM brethren… and I were seated on top of giant bales of straw on a giant trailer pulled by a giant John Deere tractor. (John the Baptist prepares the ground for Jesus. He also prepares the way for the coming of the Man-child.) It was driven by Moses (Representing Jesus in the first-fruits Man-child reformers.).  We were all giants on the Earth. (These giants represent those who are of renown and great in the Kingdom of God on earth. These are like the first disciples who followed Jesus and did His works. They will come out of Egypt and go into the wilderness Tribulation after Moses.) (I asked the Father what the giant "hay ride" with Moses represented and my finger fell on: (Rom.6:5) For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death (to self), we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection (life). (The Red Sea baptism to enter the tribulation is a baptism unto death that we may be one with the resurrection life of Christ and giants of the Kingdom. The "hay" under their feet represents that the old life of wood, hay and stubble is overcome.)  I asked for a confirmation to this verse and my finger fell on: {Dan.3:1} (In context 1-2) Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon. {2} Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the satraps, the deputies, and the governors, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image (of the beast) which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. (What a confirmation! This is clearly the One World Order which begins at the same time that the Man-child brings the woman into the wilderness tribulation.) Moses drove the tractor on top of the waters of the Atlantic Ocean down to the Cape of Good Hope at the tip of Africa. (The Man-child and people cross the Red Sea, typed by crossing the Atlantic Ocean, since this is a world-wide happening to go to the wilderness tribulation.) Moses turned the tractor to travel along the west coast of Africa and Europe and on up to England. It felt as if we were on parade. (The Lord will send His chosen to the world to demonstrate His Gospel and convict of sin and righteousness.) (When I asked the Father for a scripture for the overall meaning of this dream, my finger fell on: (Psa.105:13) And they went about from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people.) I looked at the continent of Africa as we were passing by on top of the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, most of the dark, black people were giant in comparison to the continents that they were standing on. They were not as giant as we who were riding on the trailer.  (God is not racist: "man looketh on the outward appearance". But God uses everything for symbolism. Just as Eve does not represent herself, so the black and white people in this text do not represent this in the natural but are symbolical. These black giants represent the giants in the ways of the world from the spiritual type of giants in Genesis, when sons of God mixed with daughters of men, producing hybrids. The great men of Christianity in our day are all a mixture of the world and Christianity. They are the lukewarm, mixed multitudes, part Israel and part Egypt; the half Sons of God by Seth and half daughters of men by Cain. Read Sons of God, Aliens & Giants.)  They were all celebrating something, jumping up and down and dancing with instruments and tambourines, clapping and shouting. My impression in the dream was that they were celebrating a secular event and this is why most of them did not notice us. (Possibly the lukewarm were celebrating the peace covenant of the beast as in Daniel 3:1,2 above) These giants on the African continent were dressed with just grass skirts or little clothing (These are clothed with flesh instead of Christ, for "All flesh is as grass".) and were dancing around fires. This stood out to me for some reason. I wasn't sure what they were celebrating but after a while I realized they weren't seeing us; most of them seemed to be facing southward.  But, every now and then, a white face in the crowd would see us and wave excitedly (These white faces who were excited to see us (UBM) represent our missionaries in Africa who are reaching many with our materials.) But, we were invisible to the majority of the people. (Those who spiritually walked in white or light could recognize the heavenly giants but those who walked in darkness could not.)… Revival Coming Soon  Claire Pienaar - 9/22/22 (David's notes in red)   (The Lord is using Riaan and I as types in this dream. Riaan's name means “little lion king”, like Mordecai, that means “man-child”. Claire means brilliance, and as such, I represent the corporate Bride body, as described in Rev 19: 7-8: Let us rejoice and be exceeding glad, and let us give the glory unto him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8 And it was given unto her that she should array herself in fine linen, bright and pure: for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.)    I dreamed Riaan and I lived in a really large place. (Psa. 18:19 He brought me forth also into a large place; He delivered me, because he delighted in me.) (Riaan: The Man-child and Bride receive a place [or refuge] to accommodate those whom the Lord will send.) It looked like a small conference center. I never saw our bedrooms, but only all the “public” areas. We had 3 pools, four lounges and a play area for children. Two pools were indoor and one was outdoor, next to a large river. (Representing the river of living water. Psa. 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That bringeth forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also doth not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.)    We were visited by two people with white hair. One was a female, and one was a male. (White hair represents wisdom. It says in Daniel 12:3 And they that are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.) Riaan fellowshipped much with them, as I was preparing a meal to serve them. They three had made the decision that, “It would happen”. The two white haired individuals went away and put up one invitation for a teaching session at the local grocery store on Saturday at 3pm. (Saturday represents late on the last day before the beginning of the week, representing the 7 day Tribulation.)   I realized, then, that Riaan and I were foreigners in this dream and that we knew no-one. We had no network or contacts and so we could not invite anyone to our new home. (David said concerning the building of the Lord's house in 1Ch. 29:14-16 But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee. 15 For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as all our fathers were: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no abiding. 16 O Jehovah our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee a house for thy holy name cometh of thy hand, and is all thine own. And we are about to begin the building of God's house.)   The dream changed to the day and time on the invitation - Saturday at 3pm. There was a knock on the door and Riaan opened it. People literally flooded into our home. There were easily 500 people of all kinds in our home. They all wanted to get into the water and have a good seat to watch the preacher. (The revival is coming and people will flood into the larger house of David that will be built by the Man-child Solomon, the prince of peace who called himself “the preacher”.)   Riaan was up at the stage fixing the sound system. (The Man-child, Jesus, is preparing to reveal Himself through His reformers on the world stage and many will hear His voice, represented by the sound equipment.) I was helping the young moms keep their kids safe in and near the water. (The Bride will help take care of many immature Christians who will be learning to swim in the deeper waters of the Word.) I had a thought to make a meal for all the people, but the white-haired lady appeared to me and said, “We've got caterers”.    Then I saw that they'd turned one of the rooms into a kitchen with round tables for seating. (Jesus told His disciples in John 4:31-34 In the mean while the disciples prayed him, saying, Rabbi, eat. 32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not. 33 The disciples therefore said one to another, Hath any man brought him aught to eat? 34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to accomplish his work.)   The music started and the people were praising God! (Many will be praising God when revival starts and “the music begins!”) It was amazing. We praised for a long time. I was at the back of the room the whole time, or outside checking on the kids. Then Riaan began preaching. I was happy for him but, I hadn't realized that he was going to be the preacher until that moment. (Many who currently know the Man-child reformers will see them for who they really are once they receive the latter rain anointing.)   Then I went to help dish up food, welcome new folks, and help set up chairs, etc. One man asked me, “Where's the preacher's wife? Normally they sit in front and support their husbands”. I turned to him with a huge grin and said, “Here I am! I'd rather be supporting all of you! He gave me a hug and said “Thank you”. It was amazing and lovely and the place was so full of people coming to the Lord. Then I woke up.    (The Lord said, “Come to me all who are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”. We provide respite for those coming out of the world and/or apostasy. Thank you, Jesus!!)     Moving to the New House of Healing David Timoshchuk - 3/22/22 (David's notes in red)   (David and Alenna represent the Man-child and Bride in this dream.)   I had a dream last night that God moved us to a new house on a steep hill. (This is Mt. Zion and the New Jerusalem, the Bride according to Rev. 21:2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.) I had to use the 4 wheel drive on my SUV to get there. (A 4X4 SUV is an all terrain vehicle and represents overcoming our earthly terrain of our flesh. This is the vehicle required to reach the top of Mt. Zion.) When we got there, it was a beautiful home. (Yes. The Bride on top of Mt. Zion is beautiful.)   Then we went to a church with really tall ceilings and there were a lot of people and they were all praising and worshiping God freely. (This represents revival of the original Church.) I looked up at the ceiling and there was a bald eagle flying by the ceiling. I saw a glow and I heard a voice saying, “This is the Church for whom I have chosen.” After I heard this, I immediately started praying in the Spirit and rejoicing. (I was given a vision that I believe is about Jesus' voice being heard through His vessels …    I was looking out of my window at a little song bird with no particular markings that was singing. (The Lord showed me that this represents His pleasant voice going forth .…) Then the bird swooped down and landed on the concrete at the base of my house. (The Lord showed me that this represented this vessel … is based on the concrete or rock.)   As I watched, the bird morphed into a bigger hawk or eagle type shape.… (The Lamb becomes the Lion. This eagle represents the anointed Man-child which the angels confirmed was the meaning of my sighting of a large eagle flying low at the back door of my house.)   Back to David T.: Then I looked at my wife and told her in the dream, “I just saw a vision.” Then a little girl went up on stage and started singing and I looked at her and was thinking, “She looks familiar.” Then realized it was Zoe' fully healed. (Zoe' means “God's life” and when the revival begins, His life and His Spirit will heal all who come to Him.)   The School of Revival  Tiannah Fire - 1/13/22 (David's notes in red) I had a dream that I went to the elementary school that I went to as a child, and all the people I went to school with were still there. They were all gathered together.     I went up to them all and just started sharing my testimonies of Christ and I was speaking the Word and Truth in Spirit. I felt such a strong amplified love and energy for Christ in spirit. It was like 100x amplified beyond anything I have felt when awake. Just a strong desire for Christ and strong exercising of speaking Truth and The Word with nothing hindering me.  I didn't have to struggle with carnal worries of offending anyone or being embarrassed. Nothing was hindering me or fighting me from proclaiming Jesus. And it was all out of holy love and not out of obligation and I felt love for everyone, even those that had hurt me so much or hated me in the past. I had such strong pure love for all of them, not in a carnal way but spiritually.   It was a real witness as they knew how evil I was as a child; more than most. But they now saw Jesus had transformed my life, they could see The Light of Christ and so many of them repented and turned to Christ in spirit and truth. A big revival throughout the school broke out, starting with repentance.   I walked around to different areas talking about Jesus to everyone. Many others repented and were awakened to the truth and started going around telling others. The fire of God spread so quickly throughout the school and most came to repentance and love for Jesus, and a few that didn't were surrounded by those who did and either they started desiring Christ or they had to run away from the school and not come back. To stay in the school, they would have to be in Christ. The Spirit was contagious, and it was so beautiful seeing true repentance in spirit and truth and love for Christ came so quickly.   I went into a classroom and there were students sitting down, and a woman teacher teaching. I went over to the teacher and said that what they are doing is meaningless and a waste of time. I then turned to the class and started singing Be thou my vision, praising God and all the students started singing also.   After the song I prayed in front of everyone, and I asked God in Faith that every person that has ever been to this school in all of time, would all have the gift of repentance and faith before leaving earth and that they will all be in the Kingdom for eternity. I then heard that I will remember this moment asking God for this because it will and has been answered. Then I woke up. Restoring the Miscarrying Womb of the Church Samuel Fire - 12/1/22 (David's notes in red) I dreamt that Tiannah and I were at our own home and had a few people that came over for prayer and fellowship. We were praying for this young couple. They were having complications in their relationship with emotional and physical pain after having a miscarriage. (The apostate Church has been miscarrying the fruit of Christ for almost 2,000 years now. Hosea 9:13-14 …but Ephraim shall bring out his children to the slayer. 14 Give them, O Jehovah-what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.) The woman had lots of pain in her womb. They were in agreement with the Word of God, but had not seen or felt His Power or experienced miracles yet. (Speaking of religious men in the last days God says in 2Ti. 3:5 holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof…) (They didn't yet know the Holy Spirit, as in Acts 19).  Tiannah was sharing her testimonies. I was breaking off all the witchcraft and doing warfare, with the laying on of hands for them in the name of Jesus. Both of them got free from the strongholds of the enemy. (Revival for the apostate Church.)  I then saw the change in them and they were a happy couple and able to have a child again. (The elect among the apostates will finally be able to bear the fruit of Christ in the womb of their hearts, once they are introduced to the real good news.)    The Bride's Special Access to Revival Claire Pienaar - 9/22/22 (David's notes in red)   I dreamed I was walking through a small  convenience store with Riaan and my dad. This convenience store was pretty average in its selections and it did not have what I was looking for.    As I came to the right side of the store, big electronic metal gates appeared and beyond these was an amazing supermarket, with so many fresh products, spaciously and beautifully laid out. There were large cooling fridges and big, wide isles.    My dad (Representing the old man of our carnal nature.) tried to go through the metal gates and they screamed “access denied” with flashing red lights. He walked away, embarrassed. Then Riaan said, “You go in, Claire, and we'll wait for you”. I said, “Ok”. I walked up and down every isle, but I did not put anything in my shopping cart until I approached the fresh goods section. (The Bride only desires the “fresh” living water or living Bread of the Word and will not consume any “boxed or processed” foods like the doctrines that the apostate churches offer.) (My dad represents the old man who is denied access to the heavenly gifts and fruit because he can not receive anything good from God. He has to die.)     As I rounded a corner, I was hit on the head and shoulders from behind by a big, bulky teenage boy dressed in black with black hair. (This represents being clothed in darkness and submitted to darkness.) I was so taken aback by this unsuspected act of violence from a stranger. (In these last days the elect of God will be attacked in ways we never suspected by the apostates. Mat. 10:34-36 Think not that I came to send peace on the earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35 For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law: 36 and a man's foes shall be they of his own household.)   He had a teenage sister who was tall with long, strawberry blonde hair. (A teenager is someone who is immature and rebellious. Strawberry blonde hair represents a mixture of submission to the Son and sin. She represents all apostate Christianity.) She bared her teeth at me and I saw that she had dogs' teeth.    I rebuked them both and looked at their mom, who had shaggy, short hair. I said, “This is not how children should behave”. The mother replied weakly, “We go to church”. She repeated this 3 or 4 times. (The apostate mother Church teaches her children that they only need to go to Church to be saved and that it's okay to remain in your sins.)    Then the manager came to me. He was larger than life and wore a light blue shirt, navy pants and a blue apron. He was lovely and said, “We have it all on camera and you can come in here and we'll take your statement”. (The manager represents the angels who record everything and often are the ones who administer justice for the Lord's people.)    I walked with him into a manager's office. There were 4 ladies sitting on leather chairs and they were in agreement with him. (Faith, Self-control, Sincerity and Love. These are 4 of the 7 women who bore the tower in Hermas' vision.) I stood with my back to the wall, facing the ladies and the manager. I had the unruly children on my left, and their mother on my right. I said, “I don't want to press charges, I just want to deliver them”. (The Bride doesn't press charges or "judge". She wants to pray and intercede). The teenage girl was ecstatic to be delivered! She believed she could be changed. I said, “If I pray for you, you'll be delivered”. (Many lukewarm Christians will be set free in the coming last, great revival.)   Then the mother took out a blank business card and said, “Write your email and phone number here and we will call you”. (The mother Church doesn't really want deliverance for her children, represented by the, “Don't call us we'll call you” attitude, but the elect among the apostates, represented by the strawberry blonde girl, will finally get down to business when the judgements begin and will want to get in touch with the Man-child and Bride.)… Then I woke up.     I asked the Lord for words for this dream and received by faith at random:  Amos 7:3, Jehovah repented concerning this: It shall not be, saith Jehovah. (In context, 1-3) Thus the Lord Jehovah showed me: and, behold, he formed locusts in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings. 2 And it came to pass that, when they made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Lord Jehovah, forgive, I beseech thee: how shall Jacob stand? for he is small. 3 Jehovah repented concerning this: It shall not be, saith Jehovah.    I also asked the Lord for more information about this dream, and received by faith at random, 1 Tim 1:13 with my finger on “faith and love”. (In context, 12-14) I thank him that enabled me, even Christ Jesus our Lord, for that he counted me faithful, appointing me to his service; 13 though I was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: howbeit I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief; 14 and the grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.    I asked the Lord for one more word about this dream, and received Titus 3:4-5 by faith at random: But when the kindness of God our Savior, and his love toward man, appeared, 5 not by works done in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.   A Sudden Move of God Debbie Fenske - 1/16/23 (David's notes in red) During our morning Zoom meeting, the Lord allowed me to see in the Spirit, those whom we would call the lowliest of people, and those addicted to every kind of sin. I could see the Spirit of the Lord suddenly coming upon them, moving in their spirits. I could discern their intense desire for God. These were dry, needy, and homeless people on the streets. (These represent spiritually homeless people.) I could see them dropping to their knees, and raising their hands to heaven with a sudden, but awesome desire for Jesus, to truly want to know Him.  “I am doing this. I am doing the work. But even My people, who know My truths, and are walking in My ways, will see, and wonder if such persons could be touched in such a way. But I say to you, ‘What a remnant I am bringing forth!' So, I warn you, I warn My people to be prepared. Be ready to receive My gift to minister to those who I will allow you to run into as you go about your business of the day. And I say, do not let their appearance stop you from being moved by My spirit, to minister by My Spirit as I bring you face-to-face with them.  Be alert and do the work of God. Even those affluent ones who have sat before Bible teachers hearing My Word preached, and receiving it with joy, and walking in My ways to the best of their knowledge, now will suddenly receive revelation from My Spirit that they are yet so empty, and needy of the deeper truths of My Word. They are going to suddenly desire more of Me, and they will seek Me with all their hearts, praying with earnest out of a sudden yearning desire which I will suddenly impart to them. (In revivals in the past, sinners and self-righteous people suddenly, for no apparent reason, have been overcome with grief for their sins and cried out to God.) And many will find you and will truly find Me through the ministry and revelation truths you have received in Me through My Word and are so freely giving out.  Be ready, My People. For I will suddenly do a quick work. Have you not heard? The harvest is ready to be picked.. Therefore, I say to you, ‘Stay prepared in Me, and go forth, intentionally, into My harvest field. Drop all things that would hinder you from being My vessels. For I have called you.” Thank you, Father! Skulls in the Basement Today's episode focuses on a very sensitive subject matter. Please be advised that this episode may not suit children or listeners who are uncomfortable or easily triggered. We will be discussing the ill-treatment of human remains in museum spaces and beyond. A few years ago, there were reports and discussions surrounding the repatriation of traditional and historical artifacts. As of today, The Smithsonian Returned a Trove of Benin Bronzes back to Nigeria. In an interview, last week, Niree Blankenberg director of the museum of African art, explained that the transfer is part of the Smithsonian's commitment to fully investigate how objects have been obtained and the histories behind these items. “It's important that we acknowledge the role of museums in continuing to perpetuate a kind of violence that strips African peoples and artists of the power of self-determination and representation and knowledge building,” she said. “It's important that we recognize that we haven't been doing that, and then to take steps to address that.” This sounds like an extremely profound gesture which acknowledges the wrongs of the past. However, it still does not address some of the darker histories that still linger beneath the surface. The conversations we do not hear much, but is public knowledge. Today we will be touching base on the resilience of racism when pertaining to human remains of historical figures and other unnamed bodies that are housed in spaces for the purpose of research , archeology and anthropology. The most visceral and emotional of the restitution issues and perhaps the most successful to date, are those that involve African human remains – skeletons, skulls, and other body parts. These human remains ended up in European collections through a number of encounters involving warfare, Egyptian tomb raids, and are grisly reminders of ‘scientific' racism and the creation of human zoos. This last such humiliating spectacle took place as recently as 1958, when people from Congo were put on display for a World Fair event in Brussels, Belgium. How did our museums become great storehouses of human remains? Let's start with the story from university of Pennsylvanias penn museum which aired on all things considered in 2021. 900 human skulls obtained during the early 19th century by Philadelphia scientist Dr. Samuel Morton. His research was used to lend scientific support to white supremacy. Just last year in 2021 during the huge popularity of conversations surrounding black lives and racial inequities; the museum issued an extensive apology for keeping the skulls and outlined their plan to repatriate them for an ethical burial. The new director of the museum told NPR It is time for these individuals to be returned to their ancestral communities, wherever possible, as a step toward atonement and repair for the racist and colonial practices that were integral to the formation of these collections." --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/creative-habits/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/creative-habits/support

I'm your host, Melissa Oliveri. In today's special episode we will hear the story of The Other Rachel. This story was inspired by my grandmother, who turned 106 years old earlier this week. I don't want to give too much away, but rest assured that there is an unusual, somewhat spooky, and definitely mysterious element to the story. Now, it's time to grab a blanket and a warm drink, we're getting started. The Other RachelIt will seem hard to believe, but the first time I saw her I didn't recognize her. In my defense, I hadn't seen her in nearly 50 years. People seem to think fifty years is a long time. Half a century. I am 105 years old now, my life has surpassed the length of an entire century. The world would be unrecognizable to her, if she could see it, but I have lived through the changes gradually, they aren't as staggering as they seem when comparing today to my starting point of 1916.But let me start at the beginning. Not the beginning of my life, that would take far too long, but rather the beginning of the unbelievable, inexplicable, most unlikely three decades of my life. I had moved into a small ground floor apartment the previous week. The apartment was located inside a converted school, and the complex only rented out to people of retirement age. It felt like I had come full circle when I toured it; looking out the living room window I could see the second-story apartment across the street where I had raised my family, decades ago. The first time I saw her she was on the balcony. I was sitting in my rocking chair by the window enjoying some quiet time before bed. I noticed the small orange light of her cigarette glowing as she smoked. I could see her silhouette outlined by the light of the window behind her. Something about her felt familiar, but I couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was. The reality was far too unimaginable at this point. She finished her cigarette then lingered a moment, like she was relishing her time outside before going back through the door to whatever waited for her on the other side.Nearly a month went by before I saw her again. This time it was daytime, and she was sitting on the steps that lead from the second floor to the street, listening to what sounded like a baseball game on the radio. She looked like she was talking to someone, but there was no one else there that I could see. I pushed my curtains aside and leaned closer to the window to get a better look. To my great embarrassment she lifted her head and met my gaze. I quickly stepped back and pulled the curtains closed. It was only a moment before I heard a soft knock on the window. I reluctantly pulled the curtains back again and slid the window open. “Hello,” she said, taking a puff of her cigarette, “my name is Rachel. My family and I moved into the apartment across the street last month.”I stared at her, speechless, recognition washing over me like one of those rainstorms that comes out of nowhere, leaving you no option but to get soaked. I thought maybe I'd died, and my life is flashing before my eyes. Or maybe I was asleep and dreaming.  Or maybe... maybe...“Lovely to meet you,” I managed to stammer, “I only recently moved in as well.”“I hope your children helped get you settled in,” she said, a smile curving her mouth as she stomped her cigarette out on the sidewalk with an old-fashioned kitten-heeled shoe. I took a moment to look over her short-sleeved floral dress with buttons down the front. It was the height of mid-1940s fashion. Oh, how I had loved that dress. I remember sewing the buttons back on after a hard tug by one of the children made them pop off. “Yes, they are wonderful children. I'm very proud of them,” I replied, my heart pounding.“That's great to hear,” she said, looking back up at me. “Do you have children?” I asked her, already knowing the answer.“Yes, I have two boys and another little one on the way,” she replied, placing a hand on her abdomen. Of course! It was so long ago; I hadn't thought about it in years. Everything had happened so fast; my father-in-law passing away, moving in with my mother-in-law, our two children in tow and another on the way. “Well, I should be getting back, it's lovely to meet you Mrs...” her words snapped me out of my memories. “Mrs.... Rachel, just call me Rachel,” I told her, hesitating only for a moment.“Rachel it is, a lovely name.” She winked as she said it, then turned to walk back across the street. I watched her go up the steps, focusing on her shoes. I remembered those shoes, too; my sister Carmen had bought them for me for Christmas in 1945. It was a bittersweet Christmas that year as some celebrated with loved ones who had returned from the war, and others grieved those who had not. I watched as the apartment door closed behind The Other Rachel, then stayed in my chair for a long time, reminiscing about Christmases gone by in that second-story apartment. Back then I would wait until the children had gone to bed on Christmas eve, then pull out the tree, the decorations, wrap the gifts, and do the cooking and baking. I'd work into the wee hours of the morning to get everything ready, and they would wake on Christmas morning believing in magic.I watched The Other Rachel, about a month later, walking home from the tramway stop down the street, carrying her bag on her arm. She must be coming home from her shift at Birk's, I thought. I had spent decades working in the iconic Birk's Jewelry store alongside my sister Marselle, earning $1/hour for my troubles. I would take the streetcar from Des Erables street around the corner from my apartment and get dropped off just steps away from the shop's location in Old Quebec. The Other Rachel turned to look toward my window as she walked by, and I waved. She smiled and sauntered over. “Hello dear, how was your day?” I asked her.“It was lovely, my friend Pierre stopped by the store to buy his mother a necklace. He told stories and we laughed and laughed until the manager gave me a stern look... and then we laughed some more,” she giggled. I smiled fondly. Pierre had been a young boy when I first met him. Years ago, he and his family would come to the café where I was a waitress, and I would sneak him ice cream when his parents weren't looking. He eventually moved to California and became a Hollywood actor, but he never forgot his roots. He would always make a point to stop by and say hello to me when he would come back to Quebec City to visit his family.Another month went by, and I notice a pattern; The Other Rachel's appearances seemed to coincide with the full moon. We continued our monthly visits over the course of many years, my small apartment window always between us. I was there to celebrate with her when her, my, our, eldest son got married, and I was able to celebrate the birth of my next 3 children once again. It was a strange, amazing, beautiful thing and I didn't stop for a moment to question how or why. On the days between our visits, I would see the current residents of the apartment, the ones in modern clothes with their modern strollers, modern cars, and modern haircuts, going about their lives. I watched life outside my window like a carrousel, waiting for my favourite horse to pass by.“I must tell you this story,” she had said to me one day, barely able to keep a straight face. I encouraged her with a nod, wondering which memory her tale would conjure. “Last night I got home late from work, we had a very special client who stayed for some time after we closed the store. I was a little frazzled making dinner and set the oven to a much hotter temperature than I meant to. By the time I peeled, cooked, and mashed the potatoes and trimmed and cooked the beans, I opened the oven to find the roast black and burnt! It was far too late to prepare a new dinner. The meat was tough and dry, and as I sliced it, I couldn't help but think I'd never hear the end of it from my mother-in-law...” here she pauses, a mischievous gleam in her eye. She had told me a few stories about life with her mother-in-law. Never delving too deeply into just how challenging the situation was, but I remembered it well. Isabella and I never did get along. She would turn off the radio in the middle of the baseball game, or put away photos and trinkets I would display on dressers and bookcases. I would find the trinkets in drawers and put them back out, and she would hide them again, and the cycle would repeat until finally the trinkets disappeared permanently, presumably thrown away. “I held my breath as I served everyone dinner, and sure enough she had something to say...” The Other Rachel draws out the end of her story for suspense. I wait patiently, already knowing what she is about to say. “...and she told me it was the BEST roast she'd EVER had!” At this The Other Rachel roars with laughter. It was quite unlike her to step out of her more rigid, stoic stance. I sat in my rocking chair watching her, surprised, until finally I felt my shoulders shaking back and forth and I joined her in what the French call un fou rire. I was still chuckling about the whole thing when I went to bed and dreamed of all the lost trinkets that had been made to disappear by my mother-in-law over the years. A few years later, The Other Rachel asked if any of my children had served in the armed forces. I told her my eldest son and his boys were part of the military, which was not exactly an answer to her question, but also not a lie. People rarely spoke about World War II once it was over, but for some reason it was on The Other Rachel's mind that day. She told me a story about her brother-in-law, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes at the mention of his name, not out of spite but out of an almost comical sense of exasperation. My husband had been unable to fight in the war, but his three brothers did, and the one The Other Rachel was referring to had a tendency to go AWOL.“So here we are, riding the train from Montreal, and Donn tells me to go sit with him. At first, I didn't understand why, then it dawned on me that appearing to be part of a couple would help him avoid suspicion. My husband sat a few rows back and I sat in silence next to my brother-in-law, hoping no one would ask for our papers. In all those years he never did get caught!” She sighs the sigh of a mother with a hopelessly naughty son. Perhaps this brother-in-law explains some of the mother-in-law's moodiness, I thought with a quiet giggle.“My mother-in-law passed away yesterday,” she added, as if reading my mind. I sat silently for a moment, waiting to see if she would say more, but that was that. I offered her my condolences, which she accepted with a nod before slowly walking back up the steps to her apartment. My mother-in-law had passed away in the late 1950's. I still remember the dress I wore to her funeral, and the cold wind at Mount Hermon Cemetery in Sillery, standing at the family grave nestled between two tall Scotch pines planted in honour of their Scottish heritage. I sat for a while thinking about Isabella and the constant state of conflict we had lived in for the better part of 13 years. My husband had been planted squarely in the middle of that small-scale war. I would ask him to pass along my message to her and she would do the same, and he would nod and smile at each of us and keep all the information to himself, a sort of makeshift peacekeeper. In hindsight, perhaps the loss of her husband, that terrible grief settled deep in her soul, had turned here into such a difficult person. Perhaps before she had been a brighter, lighter, happier person. Perhaps she felt like her life was in a tailspin, like the life she had known was disintegrating before her eyes, like she had completely lost control. Perhaps I simply didn't have enough life experience to empathize back then...“Those suitcases better be packed by the time I get back!” The sound of her voice made me instantly perk up. I had been in a slump for a few of weeks, having broken my leg in a fall while walking to the market on Cartier Street. I painstakingly made my way to the window and pushed the curtains aside to see her weary but smiling face on the other side. I scanned my memory for a trip we may have made around this period in time, but my brain was a little foggy from the pain medication. “Where are you off to?” I finally asked, giving up on my quest.“We've promised the kids a trip to the World Fair in Montreal,” She replied, a mixture of excitement and exasperation in her voice. Of course, Expo '67! How could I forget?! It was such a magical trip; the cutting-edge technology and design, the crowds milling about with a look of amazement on every face, the sights and sounds, the food... We would talk about that trip for years to come. The unusual structures like the Terre Des Hommes and Habitat 67 that were part of the pavilions at the exhibit still stood to this day, iconic pieces of Montreal architecture.“How exciting!” I breathed, envious of the adventure that awaited her, an adventure that was so distant in my past.“It will be if I can get everyone packed up and out the door! On that note, I need to go pick up my pay cheque. It's lovely seeing you,” she waved before rushing off down the street.I didn't see her for a few of months after that. I spent some time with my sisters, and celebrated Easter with my family. When summer came, we drove to the Island of Orleans to buy fresh-picked strawberries, the best berries in the world, no contest! I made jam and marmalade for everyone; my children, my sisters, the Sgobbas who lived down the street, Mme Méo who lived around the corner and had been a friend to me for years, and Mrs. Maher who lived upstairs. The warmer months passed by so quickly, it wasn't until the cooler weather returned that I realized how much time had gone by since I'd last seen The Other Rachel.“Gordie, don't you eat the tops off those mille feuilles! Linda, keep an eye on him!” I heard her shout from outside my window one day. I laughed and laughed. My son, Gordon, had a habit of stealing the iced tops off the flaky custard pastries when no one was looking. “Good afternoon, Rachel,” I said, joining her by the window.“That boy, he's a handful!” she laughed, her love for him clearly present in her voice. “Say, I was wondering, have you ever travelled to Europe?” she asked. In an instant I knew precisely why she was asking. “Yes, I've travelled to Spain,” I told her. “Why do you ask?” I added, trying to keep our incredible situation to myself.“My sister and I are travelling to Spain and Portugal next month!” she answered excitedly. I smiled at her attempt to keep her giddiness in check. She was usually so serious, and no-nonsense, I relished these almost childlike moments of wonder in her, they were far too few and far between.“You will have a wonderful trip. The food, scenery, and people are all lovely,” I told her, drifting off into memories of that very trip with my sister Marselle. We had eaten late at night, enjoyed the most amazing coffee on the hotel balcony first thing in the morning, watched the sun rise from the beach... “Well, I should be going before Gordie gets into some other kind of trouble,” she said, still grinning from ear to ear. I waved goodbye as she scurried home to check on her mille-feuilles. I made a point to walk down to Paolo's Patisserie on Rue Cartier that evening to pick up a mille-feuille for myself, and that night I went to bed with visions of flamenco dancers and Portuguese sunsets in my head. Just before falling asleep, I made a mental note to call my sister Marselle the next morning to check in, we hadn't spoken in a few days.I didn't see The Other Rachel the following month. I knew she was on her trip, so I didn't think much of it, but I didn't see her again for several months after that either, and began to worry until I remembered what happened at the end of that trip. A vicious bout of sciatica had put me in a wheelchair, a condition that took nearly eight months to resolve. When I finally saw her again it was autumn. I heaved a sigh, relieved the spell had not been broken after all. She walked more gingerly, but still held her head high, and looked impeccable in her long coat and a pair of leather gloves. “Hello Rachel,” I said through the open window. She jumped a little, as if I had startled her. She turned toward me, a look of distraction on her face.“Oh hello,” she said, regaining her composure. “Is everything alright?” I asked her, scanning my memory for the events which transpired fifty years prior that may be cause for her concern. Before I could put my finger on it, she filled me in.“Have you been listening to the radio?” she asked, “they're saying the army is coming. There will be curfew. They're saying a politician has been kidnapped!” Of course. The October Crisis. So much time had gone by I had put it behind me, but it was a frightening spell in Quebec History when some extremists took things too far. My heart sank as I thought of the politician who would later be found dead. I quickly reminded myself to keep quiet about it. “Ah yes, very concerning indeed. I'm sure you and your family will be safe,” I smiled at her reassuringly. She nodded, still a little unsure, and bid me farewell as she carefully crossed the street, her gait noticeably affected by the sciatica. I watched her with a sinking heart, knowing there was something far more terrible coming her way than the October Crisis.A few months later she came to my window, her face ashen and streaked with makeup where tears had run down her face. My stomach clenched. I thought I was prepared. I knew it was coming. I had thought of nearly nothing else the past three months, yet I couldn't help but feel my heart break all over again. As much as I tried to forget, I remembered this day as if it were yesterday. This horrible, tragic, traumatic day. “Oh Rachel, I don't know what I'm going to do...” she had whispered through my window. “Listen to me very carefully. It may not seem like it today, but it's going to be okay. You will be okay, and your children will be okay. Life will be okay. Trust me.” She had looked at me then, her gaze even with mine as if, for a moment, she knew exactly who I was. I stayed perfectly still, unsure of what would happen next. She nodded quietly and turned her gaze to the ground. Eventually she took a deep breath and looked up to the sky before whispering “My husband died today.”“I remember,” I whispered, too quietly for her to hear. Fifty years I had lived on without him. I wanted to hold her then, to comfort her, but we had only ever talked through the window, and I was afraid to break the spell. After a while she squared her shoulders and lifted her head. She bid me goodnight and walked proudly back to her apartment. I remember the moment, half a century ago, when I decided there wasn't time for feelings and pity, that I would swallow it all down and continue moving forward and raising my family. I stared out the window well into the night, remembering the pain, the tears, the fear filling up the walls of the second-story apartment across the street. As I watched I saw a hazy figure take shape on the balcony. I recognized him instantly, looking dapper in his limo driver uniform with a cap on his head, leaning on the railing smoking a cigarette. He blew out a plume of smoke and his silhouette dissipated along with it. “Goodbye Don,” I whispered for the first time in 50 years. I spent the next several months letting her lead the conversation. Some days she would focus on the children; another getting married, another grandchild being born... other days she would be very quiet, the grief she had swallowed down finally rising to the surface. Over time our conversations returned to what they had been: She sharing current events while I reminisced.  “My dearest Rachel,” she said one day, a look of nostalgia on her face, “I'm moving.” The announcement hit me like a kick in the gut. “Our landlord has decided to sell the building, and the new owner is requiring us to leave so he can make renovations,” she continued. “I've found a place for us down on Ste Foy Road.”My heart sank. We had been meeting almost monthly for nearly thirty years. It never occurred to me that our conversations would end at some point. I hadn't calculated which year it was, exactly, that I had been forced to leave the small apartment that members of our family had occupied for nearly seventy years. I remembered my son had tried to purchase the building, but the bank had denied his loan application. The new apartment The Other Rachel was moving to cost nearly double the rent and I remembered the stress and financial worry of those subsequent years. I shook my head back to the present moment. I wasn't prepared to say goodbye, not only to her, but to the life I had lived in that second-story apartment across the street. I swallowed the lump in my throat as tears sprung up in my eyes. “I wish you the very best, Rachel,” I whispered to her.“I'm only moving a few blocks away. I will come back to visit,” she said, clearly emotional about the home she had known nearly three decades, and perhaps a little sad about leaving me, the old woman in the window. Little did she know...I nodded quietly and watched as she walked across the street for the last time, the sound of her shoes echoing off the sidewalk. “Goodbye Rachel,” I whispered.I never saw her again. Every full moon I stayed up late into the night, looking for that silhouette and the small orange fire of a cigarette, but the balcony remained silent and empty. A few weeks ago, a For Sale sign appeared on the railing, quickly followed by a Sold sign. Then, last week a construction crew arrived and began filling a dumpster with pieces of wood and drywall as they gutted the interior of the apartment. Once they finished, the next crew came in to rebuild, then movers brought furniture and appliances, and finally a new family arrived: Two adults with a small child and another on the way.To this day, I sit in the living room of my small apartment staring aimlessly out the window as yet another new family goes about their life, oblivious to my existence, or to the existence of those who came before them. I sit and remember my children when they were children, my husband, my mother-in-law, the burnt roast, Expo '67, the flamenco dancers, long workdays at Birk's, the magic of Christmas morning, my sisters - now long departed, and the few moments of quiet sitting on the balcony after the children had gone to bed... I sit and dream. I sit and reminisce. I sit and recall the life I lived in that second-story apartment, when I was The Other Rachel.Thank you so much for listening.  I look forward sharing the next chapter of Wingspan next week so you can find out what Magpie and Lucas have been up to. The Finer Details of This Episode: The story of Britney Bowe giving up her spot so that Erin Jackson could win Gold The importance of rejoicing in others' victories What abundant thinking is Why we resent others' success Men envy occupational success; women envy physical attractiveness Why we envy close friends more How to replace envy with grace Sophia Goggia gifting Mikaela Shiffrin her skis for an event Edison's scarcity mentality and how he devalued Tesla's ideas The inherent value of personal worth and security The friendship between Jesse Owens and Luz Long Quotes:  “Every day, in most things we do, we have a choice.  We can see things as scarce, like the chances to win a race at the Olympics and decide not to help or cheer others on, or we can see things as abundant—that there is more than enough for everyone.” “I believe one of the most powerful characteristics you can develop in life, one that will reward you for years to come, is to rejoice in the other person's victory.” “It's common that our reaction to other people's success isn't always positive.  We tend to draw comparisons between what we have and what we perceive others are having—our thoughts get distorted and what they have grows in our minds and what we have shrinks at the same time.” “In one survey, more than 74% of respondents reported experiencing major envy recently in their lives.  Surprisingly, researchers found that we most often envy others of our own gender.” “When you take envy out of your heart, it needs to be replaced with something, otherwise the void will be filled with envy again.  So what do you fill it with? Grace.” “Most people are deeply scripted in what I call the scarcity mentality.  They see life as having only so much as though there is only one pie out there.  And if...

The 1904 Olympic marathon is remembered as history's most bizarre race. Running in tandem with the St. Louis World's Fair, or the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, the 1904 Olympics were the first games hosted by the US. Given the disorganization, poor international turnout, and competition with the World Fair's 20 million visitors, the 1904 games were perhaps doomed before they started. But no single event would ever compare with the absurd chaos of the marathon. From wild dogs to a professional clown on performance enhancing drugs, this race had it all. We also delve into the history of the ancient Olympic games and explore how an ancient festival honoring Zeus became a worldwide modern event. Come hear the unbelievable true story of the 1904 St. Louis Olympic marathon.
