Start your day with prayer that focuses on your students, teachers, administrators and parents. By bringing God's grace into our daily life through prayer together we can support needs of our students. This is a place where educators can come to pray about issues they may be facing within the field of education. Teaching is one of the most challenging yet rewarding careers, but you do not have to have all the answers or do this alone! Let God into your day and lead you through with His wisdom and grace.
As educators, you witness and hear many unsettling things from your students and at times it can be overwhelming. Many times we want to help them as much as we can, knowing there are somethings completely out of our control when it comes to our students' well being. During these times, we must pray. This prayer for abused and neglected children, is from the prayer book, Healing Prayers by the Missionary Oblate of Mary Immaculate. Please join us and subscribe to come and pray with us every week. What a beautiful way to strengthen your day as a teacher by letting God into your daily thoughts! Whether a private or public school educator, we take who we are with us and can't leave it at the door! It's okay to ask God for help when you are confused or unsure. He will listen and wants to be a part of your life!
This prayer focuses on avoiding workplace negativity and to key in on being a support to our fellow teachers and co-workers. Making sure to only speak about things that uplift one another and not to let our curiosity become a gateway for gossip. 1 Timothy 5:13- And futhermore, they learn to be idlers, going about from house to house, and not only idlers but gossips and busybodies as well, talking about things that ought not to be mentioned. This prayer is focused on ending racism and prejudice and to take a deeper look at ourselves and feelings. We are all made in the image of God. (Genesis 1:27 God created mankind in his image). Let's take a moment to reflect with God: Am I able to confront my own prejudice and not hold it against a child? For example, maybe this student is a sibling of a former student and we have preconceived ideas about how this child will behave based on their siblings past behavior before knowing how this child will respond in class. Do I make judgements about a student based solely on information from past teachers? Do I make assumptions about different races? Dear Lord, Please guide me to do better in my teaching for my students and not to hold any prejudice against anyone but to see your face in every person that I meet.
