The Cowsills Podcast is an absolute delight for fans of the iconic 60s pop/rock group. With their signature humor, charm, and candidness, Bob, Paul, and Susan Cowsill bring listeners into their world through entertaining stories and interviews with fellow musicians from the era. From discussing their own music to reminiscing about the vibrant music scene of the 60s and 70s, this podcast is a must-listen for any music lover.
One of the best aspects of The Cowsills Podcast is the genuine camaraderie and chemistry between Bob, Paul, and Susan. Their sibling dynamic shines through in every episode, adding an extra layer of warmth and authenticity to their storytelling. Whether they're bantering with each other or engaging in insightful discussions with guests, you can't help but feel like part of their family.
Moreover, the choice of guests on this podcast is fantastic. The Cowsills bring in musical artists who have lived through the same era and have rich experiences to share. The stories shared by these guests provide fascinating insights into the music industry during that time period and give listeners a deeper appreciation for the music they love.
In terms of drawbacks, occasional technical issues with poor connectivity can disrupt the listening experience for some episodes. This can make it challenging to fully hear and engage with certain segments or guest interviews. However, it is worth noting that these issues are not frequent occurrences and are likely to be resolved as the podcast continues to evolve.
In conclusion, The Cowsills Podcast stands out as a must-listen for fans of The Cowsills and anyone interested in exploring the music scene of the 60s and 70s. With its mix of humor, nostalgia, and meaningful conversations, this podcast offers a unique glimpse into the lives of iconic musicians while maintaining an inviting and inclusive atmosphere. We had such a great visit with Artie Kornfeld last week but we never got to touch on Woodstock, the true legacy of this great man. So this week we invited Artie back to have a very cool Woodstock conversation and what a tale it is. Enjoy this one folks it's a beauty!!
Well folks it only took 164 episodes to get to one of the most important figures in the history of The Cowsills and here he is. To put it bluntly without Artie Kornfeld there would have never been a famous musical family called The Cowsills on any charts anywhere no matter how good we were. Artie was the key to it all. Artie Kornfeld is way more than his Woodstock legacy indicates and The Cowsills were an early success for this amazing artist in his own right. Sit back and listen to this rock historian talk about a lot of this 'other stuff' - in fact we got to talking about so much stuff we never got to Woodstock....so next week we will have 'Artie Kornfeld-the Woodstock episode'....enjoy!!
One man, one voice, one guitar... Big sound!'. Enjoy the episode and we look forward to having many guests in future episodes and this podcast train is going to keep on rolling!!!
Hello everybody we have a very special guest today radio legend Mike Kirtner. Mike became a fan of the podcast and we think you'll enjoy his reaction to it and what he came up with and implemented. Hello everyone we have only 6 days left on our summer Happy Together Tour!!! Wow! No guest today but we share some great stories. You can find out who started the bus fire on the band's tour bus and who is credited for saving everyone's lives. We also explain why Howard Stern still doesn't like us and won't talk with us. I guess we're in a long feud. Also we address our "forced" night off at a casino in Michigan because they don't like "Indian Lake" and they don't like us. Even our family band is banned from playing there. Okay everybody have a great end of summer see you next week!!!
Hello everyone from Zydeco land. We're back with our first guest in a while Grammy award winning artist Terrance Simien. We hope you enjoy this journey down an alternate genre that's out there for all to enjoy. Hi everybody. We're getting ready to head up to San Juan island off the coast of Washington for our gig at the Honeywell estate and Friday Harbor this weekend. Here's a short visit as we wind through all of that and head back out on to the Happy Together Tour.
Well everybody we have finally come up with a new guest this week....OUR BROTHER JOHN!!!!!! He's not a Beach Boy, he'll aways be a Cowsill, he's not an Action Skuller, he isn't missing, no more "Where's John?"episodes so what's up? Well he is here with us and we had a heck of a visit. He's got a little "I'm here to claim my legacy" kind of thing going on but this bro has a LOT so say!. So listen in as we go down the John Lane, talk over each other, and find out what he and his lovely wife (Vicki Peterson of "The Bangles" for the uninitiated) are up to. We also travel through some old Cowsill territory and do some revisiting about thises and thats. Hope you enjoy see you next week!!!!
Well everybody we are back on schedule and back in the saddle. It's been a challenge producing episodes on the road but we love it. Today we kind of get back in to the swing of things and get you all caught up on what's happening in Cowsillland! Hope you enjoy the episode and we will see you next week with our next new guest our brother John. We'll get all caught up on what he's involved with and what the plan is that's underway. Hope you're all having a great summer!!
Hey everyone as you know we're out here on the Happy Together Tour for the summer. Sometimes we hit a snag on the road and production of our podcast gets interrupted due to road circumstances...such as this week (and last). Rather than let the same episode run another week we thought it would be fun to focus on our very first episode and return that one to the top of the heap for enjoyment. There's no video (that came later) so audio only. Next week we will be back with our regularly scheduled program. Hope everyone is having a great summer!!
Hi everybody!! We're doing great out here on the Happy Together Tour having great shows with great audiences. Today we visit about life at Halidon Hall, the mansion on the hill in Newport, Rhode Island where we lived just before we moved to New York. We were on the cusp of making it big and we have a lot of fun memories to share with you about life in Newport c. 1965-1966.
Hello everybody we've been asked to continue through our historical walk through the different places we've lived and what life was like in them. Today we cover life in Ohio circa 1958, 59, 60, 61. Susan is not on this episode as she was born in Ohio and we left when she was three so there's no memories.... if she does have any we'll talk with her about that next week. Enjoy the episode we're out on "The Happy Together" tour so we'll be talking about that soon.
Well folks we are heading out for our summer tour, our 10th Happy Together Tour. So exciting to still be going and still be at it. We had such fun last week describing our life in Santa Monica when we arrived in late 1968 on top of the world we thought we'd continue the theme this week and next even. Today we talk some about life on Indian Avenue in Middletown, Rhode Island in the mid-sixties when we were forming the band and coming of age. Hope you enjoy the episode and next time you'll hear from us we'll be out there on the road! Bye for now!
Hi everybody we thought it would be fun to visit with you about life in Santa Monica when we moved out there from New York I'm City in 1968-69. We were living on top of the world. We cover a lot of this and that and it's a lot of fun hope you enjoy the episode
Hello all this week's guest hails from Canada and they are the power rock pop group The Kings. The Kings made their mark in the early 80's and have not stopped and currently are promoting their 2024 album/CD release "The Longest Story Ever Told". We hope you enjoy this visit with one of Canada's great rock bands as we travel a long and winding road through their career as songwriters and performers. The story that takes place in Denver, The Kings first American concert opening for Jeff Beck, is absolutely priceless and very rock 'n roll!
Wow that was some interview last week with Frank Stallone that was a long episode thanks for hanging in on that one great conversation. Today no guest we're just chatting it up a bit we'll get back to guesting next week. We're getting ready to head out to North Tonawanda to perform Saturday night looking forward to that ...enjoy life wherever you are thanks for chiming in and listening and viewing and see you next week if not tonight
We had a great time at the California Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony everyone. One of the highlights of our evening was meeting Frank Stallone. What a gentleman! We had such a nice encounter that Frank was amenable to guesting on our podcast so today we have a great visit to share with you with Frank Stallone. What a story and what a nice guy. We hope you enjoy this very fun conversation.
Hi folks this week we are visiting the family band COMPASS who hail from Canton, Ohio. They are 16 yr old Arianna and her 2 younger brothers Harrison on guitar (ahead of his time he's so good) and Johnny their 10 year old drummer (who started drumming at age 7 sound familiar anyone?) and then Constantine who will be playing keyboards when he gets a little older. Of course we felt we were interviewing a younger version of The Cowsills...it was awesome. Enjoy and please support this great family. Next week another great guest thanks so much everybody!
Hi everyone! Well the eclipse eclipsed our hopefully planned guest this week when the family band, COMPASS, found themselves smack dab in the middle of the "path of totality" for the solar eclipse and our episode was scheduled to tape smack dab in the middle of that eclipse so we will visit our family band next week because that would have been a big miss for the family. We can't wait to visit with them and see what's up. In the meantime please enjoy our ramblings about this and that.
Hi everybody WE ARE BACK FROM OUR TWO CRUISES!! We tried podcasting from the cruise ship but to no avail. So we let the rehearsal episode run while we were away hope that was okay. We had a blast and talk about that and other things. We have lots of guests to get to in 2024 and we will be starting that next week. For now we wanted to just catch you up on things and give you a report on the cruises and what's coming at us in 2024. Thanks for hanging in everyone!
Hello everybody we're heading to Miami today heading out to sea tomorrow on the Celebrity Summit for the back to back 70's and 60's cruises! In today's episode we share one of our rehearsals. As we're working up these new songs we thought we'd share what some of that work looks like so you're going to hear lousy mixes, singing that is not real serious yet, one-angle camera....we're just searching through the songs putting them together and we thought you'd enjoy seeing part of that process!!!
Hi everyone we're getting ready to head to Miami and perform on the 70's Rock and Romance Cruise and then immediately after that the Flower Power Cruise. So we have two sets of music we've been working on decade-related. Today we're relaxed and just filling everyone in on this and that and had a nice visit. Hope you enjoy the conversation. See you next week with another family band, COMPASS, as our guests.
Hello everybody cruise time is coming quickly and we're trying to figure out how to podcast from the cruise ship so we will keep you all posted on that. Today we have some more sibling ramblings but we promise to start up with guests next week again. There are plenty coming! Thanks for listening and watching everyone.... see you soon!
We thought we'd have one more episode with no guest folks. We missed Susan last week so we get caught up with her and finally learn what 'I'm doing Mardis Gras' means in detail....just family stuff and some sibling bantering. Stay tuned for new guests in this new year starting next week. Hey maybe we can get our brother John on again and find out what REALLY happened with the Beach Boys!! There's always more to the story.
Hello everyone we are back from out East Coast Swing. It was awesome and we take you through the whole thing in this episode. No guest so we're just free-forming. Susan has Mardi Gras (we'll find out next week what that means). So sit back and enjoy we will have a guest next week but for now enjoy the talk!
