It's time for another 'delve' (!) into the world of AI, and how large language models have found their way into the world of education. Following our episode last year with Karl Jones, today we welcome Mark Lester from the library service into the studio. Mark's been keeping an eye on all things AI for a number of years now, and has some interesting thoughts for us on where it might make life more productive for students and those who teach them. He's also got some insights for us into the challenges and risks, where some of those red lines might lie, and some unexpected down-sides of the rise of the machines. Thanks to Mark for joining us, and as always we'll be back with you in a fortnight!--------------------------------Recorded in studio B2.15 at Cardiff Metropolitan University's Cyncoed Campus on 6th August 2024

This week, we discuss two films from English director Jack Clayton. The first is The Innocents (1961), a gothic psychological horror film starring Deborah Kerr, Michael Redgrave and Megs Jenkins. Based on the 1898 novella The Turn of the Screw by the American novelist Henry James, the screenplay was adapted by William Archibald and Truman Capote, who used Archibald's own 1950 stage play—also titled The Innocents—as a primary source text. The second is Our Mother's House (1967), a British drama film. It nominally stars Dirk Bogarde (who only appears in the film's second half) and principally features a cast of seven juvenile actors, including Pamela Franklin, Phoebe Nicholls and Mark Lester, with popular British actress Yootha Joyce in a supporting role. The screenplay was based on the 1963 novel of the same name by Julian Gloag. This week, your host keeps things real simple. To start the show off, 'PostMortem' gives his almost-spoiler-free throughts on the 2022 Netflix released horror film, TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE - which is meant to be a direct sequel to the 1974 classic film. Afterward, the ghost host withOUT the most dives deep into the 1984 Mark Lester scorcher (based on the Stephen King novel of the same name), FIRESTARTER! It's a shorter episode this week, but definitely a "hot" one you don't want to miss - or you just might feel the "burn". *I'll let myself out now.**Check out What Lurks Behind Podcast Zero on social media at Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.*All podcast episodes are available through most major podcast streaming apps.*Email: whatlurksbehindpodcastzero@gmail.com

This episode is a special one because we have multiple guests as well as a guest host, my Dad, Frank Gagliardi. This episode we sat down after the Oklahoma Geological Foundation board meeting and interviewed three of the foundation's board members, Lanny Holman, Mark Lester, and Tom Cronin. This first half of the episode Frank sits in as guest host to discuss the Oklahoma Geological Foundation and its mission to help students in STEM programs from grade school all the way through graduate programs. We talk about the upcoming Legends Dinner and how the foundation honors individuals who have given back to their communities. Lastly, the back half of the interview I swap in as host and we discuss the current state of the industry, advice for young people going into a STEM career, and we get to hear some wisdom from some old school geologists who have a passion for our industry and giving back to the community. As award nominations for Aaron Sorkin's The Trial of the Chicago 7 continue to amass, our Oscarologists explore the only two Best Picture winners to feature a prominent courtroom scene. Sir Carol Reed's film adaptation of Lionel Bart's successful stage musical Oliver! pushed child actors Mark Lester and Jack Wilde into the spotlight for their performances as Oliver Twist and the Artful Dodger respectively, with Wilde garnering a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his work. In Kramer vs Kramer, we see the effect of divorce on Billy (Justin Henry) as he is left with his father (Dustin Hoffman) after his mother (Meryl Streep) is forced to leave. Justin Henry remains the youngest ever actor to be nominated for an Oscar. Thank you to Thomas Whitelaw for our intro music and Rachel Valentine Smith for our artwork.

Buon ascolto! #Schwarzenegger #Commando #MarkLester #RaeDawnChong #Action #Hero #Muscle #Explosion #JamesHorner

022 - For our first foray into the wonderful world of Arnold, we are looking at a film that both set the template and kicked off the ‘Lat Pack’ era of action movies that we at Double Impact hold so dear. We also cover the great Arnold Vs Sly rivalry that this very film helped instigate, the secret link between this film and Chris Pratt, and we even manage to squeeze in some quick Estelle Getty chat - what more could you ask for? But while this film helped set the foundations for the action films that followed, does Commando stand on its own as a great film today? Or has the action world moved on?

Welcome to Reel Britannia-a very British podcast about very British films....with the occasional hint of professionalism. In this episode, we have selected Melody from 1971 starring Jack Wild, Mark Lester and Tracy Hyde. And joining Scott today to help review the movie is Mark from The Good The Bad and The Odd podcast (amongst others!) Grade schoolers Melody (Tracy Hyde) and Daniel (Mark Lester) are completely earnest in their desire to wed one another. Unfortunately, no one seems to understand the ardor of their loving bond. Their parents and teachers find the marriage proposition ridiculous, and Daniel's closest pal, Ornshaw (Jack Wild), doesn't want to lose his buddy to a girl. However, the mischievous Ornshaw eventually warms to the idea, and helps Daniel and Melody escape the cruel clutches of the adults. In this week’s episode I interview Mark Lester of the www.thefinchleyclinic.com I first came across Mark approximately a year ago when I was trying to source some liver and gut cleansing products that I had been researching, and Mark’s website was the only place I could buy them in the UK. This led me to having a closer look through his shop and seeing what other products The Finchley Clinic had to offer. One glance through the product range and I could tell that who ever ran this website knew what they were doing as every item was of the highest quality. I later learnt that Mark comes from a family that has been involved with Naturopathy since the mid 1950's, and he started his professional practice in 1994. Mark is someone who by his own admission has to work hard at his health and much of his knowledge has come through personal experience - something that is not uncommon in the health industry - as much as it has through reading research papers, books, and attending seminars and lectures. Although Mark is not a doctor (which is something he is keen to point out) and he doesn’t wish to be one, he is a man with a wealth of knowledge when it comes to therapeutic supplements, natural health and healing. In this episode with Mark we cover: His personal journey into the natural health world How he sourced his product range Things he looks to avoid when added a supplement to his range Why some of the best supplements are no longer available on the market The reason many of the best products are no longer allowed to have their benefits included in the product text Why he voted to leave the EU for health reasons (everyone needs to hear this) The top 3 products he recommends for keeping healthy & much more When you listen to the show you’ll be able to easily recognise Mark really does know his stuff. From my perspective it’s always refreshing to talk to people who are as passionate about health and keeping our rights to be able to source the highest quality products and food as I am, and Mark is certainly someone with that passion. After the show he also let me into a little secret that will (if all goes to plan) mean some great episodes for you guys involving a project that he’s working on. You can find Mark here: www.thefinchleyclinc.com Enjoy the show and as always don’t forget to share it with your friends and family, as well as writing a review on iTunes. This week on the show, Jeff (@Jeff_FOTD), Jesse (@DestroySuperman), and James (@DrJimmyTerror) dig deeper into the infamous Lionsgate Horror 8-Pack and continue the unofficial "Bargain Bin Madness" series (because there's nothing really worth watching in theaters). The guys shoot the shit about what's been going on, and talk about the impending 4-year anniversary of the podcast and what's in store for the rest of 2014. For the featured reviews, they get in touch with their inner CHUD and review one of the most infamous "sequels" to ever hit theaters, CHUD II: BUD THE CHUD, and talk about how they wish Stacey Keach was their high school teacher while they review Mark Lester's CLASS OF 1999 (easily confused with CLASS OF 1984). As always, there's plenty of ridiculousness and tangents about everything from genre films to the Inner Earth Theory...
