Today we're exploring patience, trust, and holding onto hope while waiting for the life you imagined. This episode is for you if you've been feeling behind, if you've been doubting whether what you want will ever arrive.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━SHOW NOTES━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━SUMMARYToday we're talking about waiting — and how to do it without losing yourself in the process. Not the kind of patience that asks you to settle or shrink your dreams, but the kind that says: I still believe something good is possible for me, and I'm willing to stay soft with myself while I wait.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━AFFIRMATIONS FROM THIS EPISODE• I am not behind. I am exactly where I need to be right now.• My timeline is not wrong. It is mine.• The waiting does not diminish my worth.• I can hold both patience and hope at the same time.• I am allowed to want good things and believe I deserve them.• I am worth the wait.• I do not have to understand the timing in order to trust the process.• I release the need to compare my chapter to someone else's whole book.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━BREATHWORKWe practiced a calming breath pattern together:• Inhale for 4 counts• Hold for 4 counts• Exhale for 6 countsRepeating this three times helps reset your nervous system and reminds your body that you are safe, right now, in this moment.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━TOPICS• The weight of waiting and what it actually means• Why the ache of wanting something is proof of your humanity, not your weakness• The lie our brains tell us when waiting gets hard• Why shrinking your wants is fear wearing a costume• How to hold patience and hope at the same time• The difference between passive waiting and active trust━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━RESOURCES• Subscribe to Your Quiet Moment wherever you listen to podcasts• Share this episode with someone who needs to hear that they're not behind━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━If this episode resonated with you, come back next time. Today I'm reviewing The Flame in the Frost—a fantasy romance that blends Norse mythology, fae politics, and a deliciously slow-burn romance into a surprisingly immersive adventure.Set in a world of Seelie and Unseelie courts, wild fae, and ancient mythological influences, this story stood out for its rich worldbuilding, compelling character dynamics, and the way it slowly develops both its plot and romance. The relationship at the heart of the story unfolds naturally, making every moment of tension and attraction feel earned. While one popular romantasy trope didn't quite work for me, the strong characterization, unique mythology, and engaging fantasy elements more than made up for it. This was a book that completely exceeded my expectations and left me eager to see where the story goes next.

Send me a Text Message! For those of you who are newer to "More Than Bread" for sometime now I often take a break from the "5 episodes a week" life and simply upload my sermon from the last Sunday (or something similar) on Mondays. Lately at Calvary we've been going through the Psalms with the theme of finding "A Life Refreshed."This episode takes a look at Psalm 42 and 43. It's a Psalm of Lament, with a recurring theme of hope. No matter how hard the days or how dark the night, hope is fuel for our hearts. And here is the truth, "The best is yet to come, and He is worth the wait!"
Coming To Christ Does Not Provide An Easier Road Here On Earth, But It's Worth The Wait. Follow Him Where He Leads. Acts 9:15-18 15But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. 16I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.” 17Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul's eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized

David's hope did not come because his circumstances suddenly improved or because his prayers had already been answered. Instead, his confidence was anchored in the unchanging character of God. Even when David felt abandoned, surrounded by enemies, and overwhelmed by hopelessness, he chose to believe that God is good. Remembering God's faithfulness gave him the strength to declare, "Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord" (Psalm 27:14). David wasn't telling us to wait for a breakthrough, healing, promotion, or even answers, he was calling us to wait for the Lord Himself. The Hebrew word qavah describes this kind of waiting as an expectant trust, like strands of rope woven tightly together, illustrating an active, intimate dependence on God rather than passive endurance. Throughout Psalm 27, David demonstrates that true waiting is not simply hoping circumstances will change, but remaining closely connected to God, remembering who He is, and allowing confidence to rest in His goodness rather than in what He may do.

On What's Trending, Hongbin Jeong, Nadiah Koh and Nazirul Asrar dive into the long queues for NDP tickets down at Marina Square. Netizens had taken to social media to complain about the hours-long wait to collect their NDP tickets, while showing the snaking queues that had formed. Many questioned why was it so disorganised and whether a better solution, such as QR codes, could be implemented to facilitate a smoother collection process. So the trio discusses whether Singaporeans should complain about the long queues when the NDP tickets are free, and if they would brave the queues themselves if they were in that position.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In this message, Pastor Len reminds us that waiting on God is never wasted. Through Psalm 40:1-3, we see that patience often comes before God's attention, action, assistance, and ultimately His glory being revealed through our lives. Even in seasons of delay, struggle, or uncertainty, God is working, lifting us from despair, establishing our steps, and giving us a new song of praise. This message encourages us to trust God's timing, remain steadfast in faith, and remember that if God is in it, it is always worth the wait.Scriptures:Psalm 40:1-3Psalm 5:3Psalm 27:14Romans 8:24-25Psalm 37:23Psalm 32:7Job 35:10Psalm 42:8Psalm 77:6Acts 16:25Acts 16:26Links:calvarymd.comcalvarymd.com/givefacebook.com/calvaryfrederick
What if the delay you're frustrated by is actually part of God's perfect plan?Joseph received a dream from God, but what followed wasn't a palace—it was a pit, slavery, and prison. In this message, discover how patience isn't passive waiting but active trust in a God who is working even when you can't see it.We can be PATIENT because God's plan is PERFECT.

This week on Unlocked, Savannah sits down with Matt and Scott Thomas of Parmalee for a conversation that goes far beyond the music. From growing up in a small North Carolina town to spending more than a decade chasing a dream before landing their first No. 1 hit, the brothers open up about the long road to success, the sacrifices their family made along the way, and the moments that nearly changed everything. They share the incredible story behind "Carolina," the second mortgage their mother took out to keep the band going, and why finally making it wasn't just their victory, but their family's too.The conversation also dives into one of the darkest chapters of Parmalee's journey, when a violent robbery and shooting nearly ended the band's story before it truly began. Matt and Scott reflect on survival, faith, trauma, therapy, and how that experience continues to shape their perspective on life, music, and success today.Of course, there are plenty of lighter moments too, including the story behind "Take My Name," crashing a fan's wedding, the inspiration for their newest music, and why they're determined to enjoy the ride more than ever after everything they've been through. This episode is a reminder that sometimes the biggest breakthroughs come after the longest battles, and that the road to success is rarely as simple as it looks from the outside.Thank you to our sponsors for supporting our show!- Quince: Step into the holiday season with layers made to feel good, look polished, and last—with Quince. What do Christians do when life hurts? In Romans 8:18–30, Paul reminds us that the suffering of this present age is temporary, but the glory God has prepared for His children is eternal. In this lesson, we explore how creation itself groans under the effects of sin, how Christians patiently wait in hope for their promised inheritance, and how the Holy Spirit intercedes for us when words fail. You'll discover:• Why present suffering cannot compare to future glory • What it means that creation is "groaning" • The biblical meaning of hope • How the Holy Spirit helps believers in weakness • What Romans 8:28 really teaches about God's providence • How God works all things together for good for those who love HimNo matter what trials you're facing, God's promises provide confidence, comfort, and hope as we await the glory that is to be revealed.Scripture: Romans 8:18–30If this lesson encouraged you, please like, subscribe, and share it with others who may need hope in difficult times.#Romans8 #FutureGlory #ChristianHope #BibleSermon #FaithInSuffering #HolySpirit #Romans828 #ChurchOfChrist #BibleStudy #ChristianLiving

We've waited so long for today's episode to drop (Ep. 149)! We're chatting with Sophie Felts, Founder and CEO of Sophie Felts Floral Co, along with her President and Director of Operations, Erica Gamble. We're thrilled to introduce them as the newest CIRCLE Weddings facilitators — and we think it'll be clear within the first few minutes of the interview that this was worth the wait. Based in the Washington DC area, Sophie and Erica have spent a decade building a wedding floral business with a team of 15 and a hard-won philosophy around profitability, sustainable staffing, and doing work they're genuinely proud of. In this conversation, they talk about how they built the business from the ground up, why they said yes to CIRCLE Weddings, and what they're hoping to give back to the floral community that poured into them when they were just getting started. CIRCLE Weddings isn't a traditional mastermind or course, but rather a small group of ten people that will learn together in real time every Tuesday in July and August 2026. After years of hosting CIRCLE sessions, we believe in building a safe space where confidentiality within the group allows for vulnerability and open discussions about the realities of running a wedding/event flower business. We'd love for you to join us if that sounds like the space you've been yearning for. Registration is open for the 10 available seats in 2026 CIRCLE Weddings 2026 July & August 2026: Click here to grab a seat or learn more. James 5:1-6. In a world of uncertainty, frustration, and waiting, this message calls us back to a simple but powerful response: be patient and focused. Drawing from James 5, we're reminded that like a farmer trusts the process, we're called to trust God's timing while faithfully doing His work. Patience isn't passive—it's active, purposeful, and rooted in the hope of Christ's return. He's worth the wait, and He's worthy of the work. For upcoming events and important announcements at Skyline, visit our Facebook page or the Church Center App for the latest details! If you'd like to check out more resources, get to know Skyline Church, or donate to our ministry and missions please visit www.skylineofallon.com.
