Baltimore born Brian Dawkins is an experienced creative director, brand consultant, events coordinator, audiovisual technician, recording and performing artist. Known in the creative community as Greenspan, he discovered his passion as a creative at an early age. Being inspired by artist from Otis Redding and Marvin Gaye to Nas, AZ, and UGK, he started penning his rhymes soon thereafter and made his debut into music in 2008, with his first project, "Got Green?," that was later sponsored by Scion, a marque of Toyota motor corporation. Since debuting, he's consistently provided music fans a discography of standout projects. He has set himself apart in the hip hop arena as an artist with his unique sound and commanding live performance. He has been contributing to the creative community for over 15 years, performing at premier venues nationwide. Our non profit provides brand new sneakers for 8 kids every month in Baltimore city. Every time a police officer gets his pay check we buy sneakers for 4 kids, twice a month. Our goal is to bring police abs the community closer together to make our streets safer. We provide help to families who made need sneakers for their kids. We help the kids boost their confidence by going to school in brand new name brand sneakers. Lastly we build a connection with the future of our communities through the children. At a young age Akio started working in fashion design by designing his prom outfit. After high school he moved out to the west coast and continued improving his design skills. After moving back to Baltimore he started to work behind the camera in both film and photography. Akio left fashion design work for a some time until his friend Felicia Pearson of The Wire fame encouraged him to create some custom shoes for her. After that point Akio was commissioned to make shoes for Donelle Rawlings and he never looked back designing custom shoes for celebrities ranging from Dave Chappelle to Kevin Hart to Nick Cannon to Dr. Dre to Allen Iverson and the list goes on. In this Episode Akio also discusses how he incorporates Baltimore in most of his pieces by using the Air Force 1 as a canvas. We discuss how Baltimore helped save the Air Force 1 as well a as the impact Akio's mother had on him and his artwork.
