On paper, it looked like Diana Tidswell was killing it. She was 19 years old, newly married, and running her own interior design business. Amazing right? But at a young age Diana came to realize she didn't define success by what looked good. She defined it by how she felt - and she was NOT feeling her life at the time.So she quit. She shut down her business and got a job in the industry. But the vision that she had for herself and for her business at 19, continued to stay on her mind over the years, until she just couldn't shake it anymore. So fast forward 10 years later, and she is back in the design business - but she's doing it in a way that feels good to her. This time she's not doing it by herself - she has a business partner, and a growing team. She's not subscribing to a set way of doing things. She's doing it on her own terms by remembering why she started in the first place. You can view some of Diana's amazing work on her website, or follow Kresswell on Instagram.Show your supportDo you love being a member of The Quitter's Club? It's not always easy to quit. In fact, sometimes life becomes a lot more complicated when you do. Often it's easier to stay in a situation that doesn't make you happy because it's just more comfortable there. In this episode, I'm sharing about my own struggle with being stuck in my comfort zone. I discuss New Year's resolutions, trusting my gut and relocating to the West Coast. It's all related - I think. If you want to follow along on my personal adventures you can do so on Instagram.Airbnb where I stayed in North Vancouver.
Hannah was living a life she was SUPPOSED to - married to a great man, the father of her kids - but something just didn't feel right. As she explains it, she felt 'broken'.So in an effort to explore where that feeling was coming from, she started down the path of self discovery which ultimately led to her coming out and ending her marriage.Hannah is so candid about how she processed her self discovery during that time. Regardless of your own life situation, I think we can all hear a little bit of ourselves in her story. You can learn more about Hannah on Instagram.Resources:Logan GrayUntamed - by Glennon Doyle
In today's episode I am chatting with Kait McKenna who is about to launch In Good Company in South Boston, which is a retail store made up of local and global makers. Kait's mission is to build a community rooted in kindness and you can really feel how much she cares about people during our conversation. She's a great example of how when we are kind to ourselves, we're so much more equipped to be kind to others. Kait recently left Corporate America to start her own business, but as her story unfolds I learned about her 'big quit' that led her to this moment. As someone who struggled with finding the confidence to be herself, including coming out as bisexual, Kait's learned to turn down the volume of judgement, shame, and societal pressures so she can listen to herself for guidance. You can follow Kait on her journey on Instagram and stay part of the community she's creating here.
