After graduating high school at the IMG Sports Academy in Florida, he went on to play Division I college baseball at NYIT on Long Island, where as team caption he led NCAA DI baseball nationwide in stolen bases/game (2015) and was selected for the ABCA Rawlings 2nd team All-Northeast DI team (2016). Joe played in international competitions with the Thai National Team at the Asian Games (Korea, Indonesia), the World Baseball Classic (Taiwan), the East Asia Cup (Hong Kong), and at other events. Joe has gone on to be in multiple national commercials along with producing and writing multiple shorts. He has been featured on Jimmy Kimmel, NCIS, and The Rookie, and SEAL Team.

Tripp has was an assistant coach at South Carolina under the great Ray Tanner and has gone on to become the winningest minor league manager in the Nationals MiLB system.
