A weekly podcast from United Assembly of God Church in Desloge, MO

This week is our special Veterans Day Service, where United honors our veterans who served our country. This week's message involves an illustration of the “White Table” which is a silent reminder of the soldiers who never made it home. It's empty, yet it speaks volumes about sacrifice, longing, and hope. Pastor Rob will make reference to the passage In Acts 17:26–27, where the Apostle Paul tells us how God has placed every person, in every place and time, with purpose — so that we might seek Him and find Him. The “White Table” reminds us that while some never returned to their earthly homes, God's desire is that every person would come home to Him. In this message, we'll look at how even in our remembrance of loss, God's grace is calling us closer — reminding us that He is not far from any of us.If you have any questions about this podcast or would like to share a testimony or prayer request, we would love to hear from you. In this episode we will explore Luke 12:49–53 with a message entitled The Dividing Work of Jesus. While many think of Jesus as the One who brings peace, He also declared that His coming would bring fire, division, and conflict. This week we unpack what Jesus meant by these challenging words, showing how following Him calls for total allegiance and often creates a clear line between those who accept Him and those who reject Him. In today's episode, we will look into a powerful and often overlooked moment in the life of Jesus—the story of Mary and Martha. As Jesus visits their home, we will see two very different responses by these women. Martha is distracted by doing, while Mary is devoted to listening. The passage will teach us about spiritual priorities - presence over performance, and choosing what Jesus calls “the better part”? Whether you're a leader, a parent, or simply overwhelmed by life's demands, this conversation will challenge you to slow down and sit at the feet of Jesus.

Are you listening to the sings of the passage or the signs of the world

This week's sermon is from Luke 10:25-37. Jesus challenges His followers to “Go” - love like the Samaritan. This world is full of wounded people—some are wounded physically, others emotionally or spiritually. Some live next door. Some live on the other side of your opinions - And some you'd rather avoid altogether. Real faith, real love, doesn't ask, “Who deserves my love?” It asks, “How can I show God's love today?”Who is God calling you to “cross the road” for today - this week?

This week's sermon we will be in Luke 10:17-24, where we will look at the return of the 72 that Jesus had sent out. These disciples return with joy because of the success of their mission. Their perspective on their success was a little bit different then Jesus' perspective. The events they celebrated were not necessarily the events Jesus wanted them to focus on or celebrate, so Jesus corrects their perspective.

In this week's messages, Pastor Rob looks at the passage in Luke 10:13-16. Jesus warned those who take the gospel message for granite. We pray that this message encourages you to look at your relationship with Jesus and to look for opportunities to share the gospel message with those you come in contact with.

don't let the things of this world distract you, seek god first

In the passage for today, Luke 10:1–12, Jesus appointed seventy-two others and sent them out two by two ahead of Him. This moment is not just historical; it's instructional. Jesus instructs us about what it means to be on mission, to depend fully on God, and to proclaim His kingdom with urgency and clarity. All followers of Christ are called to be Laborer's for the Kingdom of God.

Division is another way/tool Satan uses to destroy God's people. This tool is so destructive and most of the time so subtle, that people don't even realize it's part of their life until the damage is already done. But even when the damage is done, I want you to know, there is still hope, Jesus came to hand out Mercy for those with damaged hearts and those who have given in to a divided heart. Jesus came to set all captives free!

This week, at United, we return to our study in the book of Luke. We will look at a life built on humility from Luke 9:46-50. Jesus gives His disciples and us, some insights on how to kill pride in our lives and build humility.

The message this week comes from Luke 9:10–17. This week we see the disciples have a problem that is beyond their ability to provide. This is exactly the lesson Jesus is teaching them and us, He is the only one who can provide for our every need, including the sin need. Jesus through His grace and mercy uses the disciples to meet the needs of the people and He will for you also. Jesus desires to meet our needs.

The message this week comes from Luke 9:7-9. Herod is troubled by the miracles of Jesus. Trying to figure things out, Herod faces a feeling that comes upon him that some might think is fear, but it's really the working of the Holy Spirit in Herod's life. God sent His spirit to bring Conviction, Curiosity, Contentment and Commitment into one's life, but like Herod, everyone has a choice. Will Herod accept or reject Jesus?

This week's sermon comes from Luke 9:1-6. Jesus calls His disciples in this passage and transfers His power and authority to them, to minister to hurting people. This is the same power and authority God has give to us, today, through the power of the Holy Spirit. Like the disciples, we must choose to tap into this power…will you?

This week's sermon comes from Luke 8:40-56. This week we see two miracles from Jesus, a healing for a woman and a raising of the dead. Jesus has come to show us that He has power over all things. These healings reveal the faith that Jesus desires to instill within us for Him to meet any and all needs that we will ever have. Have faith in Him, when we do, that faith moves the hand of God.
