Turn back from turning back and come home to Jesus.

This powerful exploration of Jeremiah chapter 8 confronts us with a haunting question: why do people refuse to return to God even when destruction looms on the horizon? Through the lens of ancient Judah's final days before Babylonian conquest, we discover three critical reasons that kept an entire nation from repentance. First, they became irrational, allowing emotion and cultural bias to override truth, much like a horse rushing blindly into battle. Second, they embraced deception, listening to false prophets who told them what they wanted to hear rather than what they needed to hear. Third, they faced inevitable judgment as a result of their hardened hearts. What makes this message particularly striking is how eerily relevant it remains today. We live in an age where lies travel faster than truth, where self-deception feels more comfortable than facing reality, and where many prefer teachers who tickle their ears rather than challenge their souls. The sermon draws a brilliant parallel between Judah's migration away from God and how birds instinctively know their migration path. God has given us something far greater than instinct: His Word, His Spirit, and Jesus Christ as our way back home. The closing imagery of the Good Shepherd calling His wandering sheep back to safety reminds us that while Judah refused to return, Jesus never stops pursuing us. The question we must each answer is whether we will recognize the seasons of God's calling and turn back before it's too late.

"“Do not turn back to that which is false.”In this sermon from Galatians 4:8–20, the Apostle Paul confronts a painful and dangerous reality: believers who are tempted to turn back from the gospel they once embraced. What makes this temptation so tragic is not only its theological error, but the relational destruction it leaves in its wake.Paul reminds the Galatians of who they once were—enslaved to what is “by nature not gods”—and contrasts that past with the grace they have now received: to know God and, more importantly, to be known by Him. Against that backdrop, Paul asks a piercing question: How can you go back?This passage exposes the subtle danger of religious compromise. Paul warns that embracing the message of the Judaizers—though outwardly religious and rooted in biblical history—is, in fact, a return to the same worldly principles the Galatians left behind. There are ultimately only two ways of thinking: the way of the world and the way of the gospel. Any system that undermines justification by faith alone belongs to the former, no matter how pious it appears.The sermon also highlights the deeply personal nature of Paul's exhortation. The Galatians' drift from the gospel has already affected their relationship with him. Once marked by love, warmth, and mutual sacrifice, their posture toward Paul has grown cold. False teachers have courted them, flattered them, and turned them away—not only from Paul, but from Christ Himself.Paul's words culminate in a moving pastoral plea: he is again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in them. We'll talk tonight about the legacy that we have inherited and the ways in which we can carry it forward to other people. If you look around here today, you'll see that these are rare souls in the room, because we are in the midst of the saṅkīrtana movement. Somehow or other, we have been given this opportunity together to carry on the service that Śrīla Prabhupāda got from his spiritual master, and it goes all the way back to Kṛṣṇa. So, the service itself is a high sādhana that connects us to Kṛṣṇa most directly. What's more, it's the purpose of the creation. That's what Kṛṣṇa has in mind every time Mahā Viṣṇu exhales: yasyaika-niśvasita-kālam athāvalambya jīvanti loma-vilajā jagad-aṇḍa-nāthāḥ viṣṇur mahān sa iha yasya kalā-viśeṣo govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi (Brahma-saṁhitā 5.48) All the universes manifest, and then Kṛṣṇa reminds everyone where they left off in the last creation so they can start up again. But His underlying purpose in manifesting the world is to give every soul a chance to turn back towards him in the spiritual world and be happy. He says in the Bhagavad Gītā that those who take up the work of helping turn people back towards him are the most dear to him. Any spiritual practice that brings us closer to God, because it's a practice that's dear to him, is the most direct and the most important. So, book distribution is not a P.R. event. It's not a quaint activity that was meant for another era. Rather, it's a high sādhana that connects each one of us, not only to Prabhupāda, but also to Kṛṣṇa. And it was Śrīla Prabhupāda's mode, as he expressed it himself, that he picked up the mood of his spiritual master and he carried it forward.
