Turn Back to God by Autumn Dickson Time for another Old Testament story. Jehoshaphat is a king of Judah. He is a righteous king who worked on pushing the hearts of his people towards the Lord. He tears down idols. He seeks out the will of the Lord. He's a good man, though imperfect at times. At one point in time, Jehoshaphat finds himself in Israel with his ally, the wicked King Ahab. Ahab wants to go fight Syria to recapture a city that was taken from Israel. Jehoshaphat agrees but wants to consult a prophet first. After consulting 400 false prophets who declare that they will be victorious, Jehoshaphat insists on consulting a true prophet. The true prophet, Micaiah, comes and prophesies that they will lose and Ahab will die. Micaiah is actually quite awesome, but he is a story for another day. Despite Micaiah's prophecies, Ahab and Jehoshaphat try to fight Syria. It obviously doesn't go very well. Ahab tells Jehoshaphat to wear royal robes, and Ahab dresses like a common soldier. Syria immediately starts trying to kill Jehoshaphat, and Jehoshaphat calls out to the Lord and is saved. Ahab takes a random arrow and dies. Jehoshaphat returns home and is greeted by a prophet from his own kingdom. 2 Chronicles 19:2-3 2 And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the Lord? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the Lord. 3 Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God. After this experience, Jehoshaphat continues to make reforms to point his people towards the Lord. Jehoshaphat was not a perfect king, but he was a good king. In the Old Testament, we read a lot about the Lord punishing disobedience quickly and strongly. There is a reason for that; the Lord is warning us about the spiritual consequences of disobedience. And yet, the Lord doesn't do this with Jehoshaphat despite his multiple recorded failings. We see Jehoshaphat's weakness a few more times over his reign. Later on, Jehoshaphat makes another alliance with Ahab's son, the new king of Israel. They built a bunch of ships together, and the prophet, Eliezer, prophesies that the ships will get destroyed. They get destroyed. One of the ways that these two nations were allied was through a marriage. Jehoshaphat's son, Jehoram, marries Ahab's daughter. It comes back to haunt Jehoshaphat later when Jehoram starts worshipping idols and Ahab's daughter tries to wipe out the Davidic line. I love the nuance here. Jehoshaphat made mistakes, but God spares him. He has weaknesses; he keeps trying to connect himself further with the northern kingdom that is wicked and idolatrous. There are two “despites” here that teach something really important. Despite the fact that Jehoshaphat loves God, his disobedience and lack of trust come back to bite him. He loves God, but he has to experience consequences because of his flaws. Despite the fact that Jehoshaphat has flaws, God continues to save him. He is directly saved in the battle that he fought with King Ahab, but he is preserved upon the throne until he “rested with his ancestors.” This is a biblical phrase that suggests he died peacefully. I see it in my own life all the time. Despite the fact that I love God, I have flaws and they come with consequences. They drive me to be unhappy. When I get frustrated with my kids or get prideful or uncharitable, I find innate consequences that come back to bite me. And yet, despite the fact that I have flaws, God continues to save me. We just keep on trying to move forward. As I pondered this pattern, I thought of some of the other patterns I find in the Old Testament, specifically the pattern where God punishes those who trust mankind over Him. We see examples of kings that trusted Egypt but found themselves completely fallen to Babylon. Why didn't Jehoshaphat find himself in this category? As I pondered Jehoshaphat's exception, I was reminded that Hezekiah is another example of this. Hezekiah tried paying tribute to Babylon to get them to go away, and he even stripped the gold and silver out of the temple in order to pay that tribute. So why were Hezekiah and Jehoshaphat spared when they also didn't put their trust fully in God? There is one more verse I want to share. It's about Jehoshaphat, but Hezekiah did a similar thing. 2 Chronicles 18:31 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the Lord helped him; and God moved them to depart from him. What was the difference? Jehoshaphat called out to God. Hezekiah did similarly. After stripping the temple and failing, Hezekiah went to the temple and pleaded with the Lord. When do we really lose the battle? When we turn on the Lord and don't turn back to Him again after. I think that's really one of the keys to life here. We all fail. It's inevitable. What keeps us in the pattern of Jehoshaphat and Hezekiah? We turn to the Lord again even after we failed Him. We plead to Him and ask for forgiveness even in the midst of the potentially devastating consequences that we got ourselves into. We just keep turning back, no matter how many times we've failed. I testify that we can turn to God, no matter how many times we've failed. I testify that this pattern is the one that really grants us success: turning to the Lord over and over and over and over. Even when we've failed Him, we turn right back. We trust that He will still love us, and we ask Him to help us get out of it and get better. What happens when you build your work around the life you want to live? In this episode of On Adventure, Josh talks with Stefan Gruber, a climber, photographer, traveler, and customer success professional at Levitate. Stefan shares how remote work and his wife Sarah's career as a travel nurse have helped them create a life centered on movement, creativity, and outdoor adventure. They discuss climbing, film photography, international travel, dangerous moments in the mountains, and the judgment required to turn around when conditions are not right. At the heart of the conversation is a simple message: meaningful experiences should not always be postponed. In This Episode Building a mobile life around remote work and travel nursing Why climbing creates focus, presence, and flow Traveling through the American West, Poland, and Nepal The appeal of film photography and printed images Balancing documentation with being present Avalanche terrain, exposed climbing, and failed summit attempts Summit fever, risk assessment, and the limits of luck Future goals, including the Grand Teton and Colorado fourteeners Why Stefan believes in doing things while you still can Episode Chapters 00:00 – Colorado Springs and life on the move Josh and Stefan discuss Colorado Springs, choosing temporary homes, and the possibility of eventually buying land in Colorado or Montana. 11:00 – Stefan's career and lifestyle Stefan explains how he moved from a long corporate commute into remote work and began traveling with Sarah during her nursing assignments. 17:30 – Climbing, travel, and flow Stefan reflects on his Polish heritage, his early interest in travel, and the sense of complete focus he finds while climbing. 20:00 – Designing work around life The conversation explores the freedom and tradeoffs of building a career that supports travel, adventure, and flexibility. 24:00 – Poland and international travel Stefan describes Poland's cities, mountains, coastline, affordability, and cultural growth, along with other memorable travel experiences. 36:30 – Photography and creative ambitions Stefan explains how photography connects his travels and outdoor life. He also shares ideas for creating a travel channel with Sarah. 41:00 – Film, digital photography, and presence They discuss the visual character of film, the value of printed photographs, and the tension between capturing an experience and fully living it. 51:00 – Risk, fear, and turning around Stefan recounts dangerous moments involving avalanche terrain, exposed climbing, wildfire smoke, and two unsuccessful attempts on the Grand Teton. 57:00 – Summit fever and the limits of luck The conversation turns to humility, decision-making, and why surviving a poor choice does not make it a good one. 1:04:00 – Survival psychology and photography advice Stefan recommends Deep Survival by Laurence Gonzales and encourages new photographers to begin with whatever camera they can access. 1:11:00 – Favorite mountains and future goals Stefan talks about the Tetons, Annapurna Base Camp, Denali, Everest, and his goals for the rest of 2026. 1:18:00 – Do it while you can Stefan closes with his belief that health, time, and opportunity are uncertain, so meaningful goals should not always be saved for later. Memorable Quotes "Sometimes those limits find you." "There's a certain store of luck, and it will run out eventually." "If it doesn't happen today, it can happen another day." "Do it while you can." Key Takeaways Build work around what matters. Flexible work can create more room for travel, relationships, creativity, and meaningful experiences. Turning around is not failure. Good judgment sometimes means abandoning a climb or summit and returning under better conditions. Luck is not a strategy. A successful outcome does not automatically mean the decision behind it was wise. Give photographs a life beyond the screen. Printing images or shooting film can make photography feel more intentional and lasting. Do not save everything for someday. Adventure can be a major expedition or a small personal goal. The important step is beginning while the opportunity still exists. Enjoy this classic MTMUG episode originally released April 15, 2022. "Turn Back, Sarah. Turn back before it's too late." We watched Labyrinth (1986) with our good-Judy Jared Anderson and we wish the Goblin King would come and take you away… right now. Sixteen-year-old Sarah (Jennifer Connelley) faces off against Jareth the Goblin King (David Bowie) and a generation's sexual awakening began. Bowie is giving androgynous ren-faire realness and Connelley is giving ethereal drama-kid/teen model. And you can trust and believe we get into that cod-piece. Is it icky that the Goblin King is so actively seducing this young girl? A little, but it's all fantasy and (spoiler alert) Sarah finds her way back to her kick ass bedroom in her dad and stepmoms sweet Victorian house in Portland. The puppet work by Jim Henson's Creature Shop will transport you to another world, the costumes will make you want to head over to Party City right now, and the MUSIC! In this episode we discuss one of Scripture's most powerful images of grace, the father who watches in Luke 15, and what it means that he does not simply wait for his son's return but runs to meet him. Through stories of faith, compassion, and unexpected moments of care, we explore how God calls us to see people beyond labels, beyond assumptions, and beyond their worst decisions. Sometimes the greatest act of love is simply keeping watch for someone a long way off.Send us a Message!
Serhii Plokhy explains that Anastas Mikoyan emerged as a voice of reason, having opposed the missiles from the start. As the U.S. blockade began, Khrushchev ordered missile-carrying ships to turn back, though one ship with nuclear warheads was ordered to proceed. Washington remained dangerously unaware of Soviet submarines armed with nuclear torpedoes and the true number of Soviet troops on the island. Kennedy privately admitted he felt he had "no choice" but to act, partly fearing impeachment. Dean Rusk famously noted that the Soviets "blinked" when their ships finally stopped. (5)1920
Today we're talking about a financial instrument that most buyers have never heard of, most agents don't know how to use, and most lenders have very little incentive to promote. It's called an assumable mortgage — and in today's rate environment, it might be the most powerful tool sitting unused in the real estate market.Only FHA, VA, and USDA mortgages are assumable. Conventional and jumbo loans are not assumable because they contain a due-on-sale clause, which requires full repayment of the loan when ownership of the property transfers. So when a seller with an FHA or VA loan lists their home, a qualified buyer can step into that existing loan — keeping the original rate, the original balance, and the original amortization schedule. You don't originate a new loan at today's rates. You inherit the seller's loan from 2021 at, say, 3.25%.Assumable mortgages are not a loophole. They are a legal, government-backed mechanism that has existed for decades and works exactly as designed. Based on analysis of 312,367 assumable listings, the average buyer saves $1,187 per month — or $14,244 per year — versus buying at today's rates.-----------**Real Estate Espresso Podcast:** Spotify: [The Real Estate Espresso Podcast](https://open.spotify.com/show/3GvtwRmTq4r3es8cbw8jW0?si=c75ea506a6694ef1) iTunes: [The Real Estate Espresso Podcast](https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-real-estate-espresso-podcast/id1340482613) Website: [www.victorjm.com](http://www.victorjm.com) LinkedIn: [Victor Menasce](http://www.linkedin.com/in/vmenasce) YouTube: [The Real Estate Espresso Podcast](http://www.youtube.com/@victorjmenasce6734) Facebook: [www.facebook.com/realestateespresso](http://www.facebook.com/realestateespresso) Email: [podcast@victorjm.com](mailto:podcast@victorjm.com) **Y Street Capital:** Website: [www.ystreetcapital.com](http://www.ystreetcapital.com) Facebook: [www.facebook.com/YStreetCapital](https://www.facebook.com/YStreetCapital) Instagram: [@ystreetcapital](http://www.instagram.com/ystreetcapital)

God sent Jonah to a foreign kingdom with this message, "Turn back to God now! Judgment is coming." Miraculously, they listened and did just that. This is the same message that needs to be preached to our entire government and all of America. If the president's spiritual advisors and those with a platform start saying, "Repent! Believe in Jesus Christ and repent of your sins," we might have a chance. The prophecy of Joel describes a famine and devastation sent by God to wake the people up and bring them to repentance. It affected every aspect of life, from the livestock to the crops that made the offerings and worship practices possible. While Joel's prophecy speaks to the people in his day, it also speaks to us in the present who are living in a very evil time. It also speaks of the future when divine retribution will be meted out on "the day of the Lord." Although the circumstances described are very bleak, the message is of grace clear: there's still time to turn back to God. This week on Ministry Minute, we present a groundbreaking message entitled “Turn Back.” We delve into the urgent call to repent of our sins and turn back to God. We explore Zechariah's message about repentance, acknowledging that we've all fallen short of God's perfect standard. However, we emphasize that no one is beyond God's forgiveness. We discuss the freedom found in Jesus Christ, His sacrifice on the cross for our sins, and the gift of salvation He offers to all who seek it. We encourage listeners to lay their struggles, addictions, and shame at Jesus' feet and embrace His grace to become a new creation. #JesusLovesYou #Repent #MinistryMinuteTurn Back | Ministry Minute EP313Romans 10:9:That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. We all have sinned, we all have made mistakes, but in spite of our imperfections, a perfect God sent His Perfect Son to die for those very imperfect sins, so we can have eternal life. THAT'S REAL LOVE. THAT'S JESUS' LOVE. In order to receive this forgiveness you must confess and repent of your sins and accept Jesus Christ into your heart which you can do by saying this prayer wholeheartedly:Dear God,I confess and admit that I am a sinner, and I ask that You please forgive me and save me. I renounce and repent of all my sins, iniquities, and transgressions. I confess that Jesus, You are LORD, and I believe with all my heart that You died and rose again. I put my complete faith in Your finished works on the cross and I believe because of Your Blood that was shed, my sins can be forgiven. I ask that You be the Head of my life and the LORD of my life from this day forward, and I ask that You please help me to live for You all the days of my life.In Jesus Name I Pray,Amen.I'm Saved, What's Next:- Be Baptized In Jesus Name- Be Filled With The Holy Ghost- Live A Holy LifeJesus Is Soon To Return— BE READY!!#Christianity #Christian #Jesus #Bible #God #Faith #JesusChrist #Church #love #Bibleverse #Gospel #prayer #HolySpirit #Godisgood #pray #biblestudy #Scripture #hope #truth #religion #JesusLovesYou #worship #grace #JesusSaves #amen #blessed #Christianlivinghttps://www.joshuahopkinsstudios.com/productions/ministryminute

Most people know NAD+ as a supplement trend. But very few understand what's actually happening inside their skin cells when it runs out or what's stealing it in the first place.By the time you're 45, you've lost half of the molecule that powers virtually every function keeping your skin young. Sadly, it only gets worse from there. The enzyme your skin uses for DNA repair can wipe out up to 90% of what's left after a single afternoon in the sun. This isn't a slow, graceful decline. It's a collapse happening beneath the surface long before the wrinkles appear. In this episode, we will nerd out and break down exactly why NAD+ disappears, who the thieves are, and what the science actually says about getting it back. From the sirtuin-PARP-CD38 trifecta to the zombie cell feedback loop that accelerates the drain with age, this is the most complete picture of NAD+ and skin aging we've put together to date.We also cover the real differences between NMN, NR, and niacin, why the precursor you choose actually matters, and what to stack with it to protect your methylation pathways.Ready to nerd out in this with us?Let's dive in!What's Discussed:(4:00) The number that changes how you think about skin aging.(6:03) What NAD+ actually does and why "rechargeable battery" undersells it.(8:18) The three enzyme families consuming your NAD+ as a substrate.(8:23) Sirtuins: the police of your cells and what they cost you.(9:42) PARPs: the fire brigade and why one sunburn nearly wipes you out.(11:16) CD38: the NAD+ Pac-Man that gets worse with age.(15:10) The five-fold decline: what the 2012 tissue study actually found.(16:15) CD38 and the zombie cell feedback loop driving the decline.(19:39) What the depletion actually looks like in the mirror.(28:04) Why NAD+ decline is reversible & supplementation deep dive.(28:41) NMN: how it works and what the studies actually show.(31:50) NR: the most clinically studied precursor and who it's best for.(33:27) Niacin: the $5 option and why most people can't tolerate it.(38:14) Why timing your NAD+ to your circadian rhythm matters.(38:35) TMG and methylation: what to stack and the two-to-one ratio.Learn more about NAD from our previous podcasts and videos:Previous NAD YouTube Videos:NAD+, Skincare Science + The Future of Skincare: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmwYLywwcsA Biohack Your Way to Better Skin - Benefits of NAD Boosting Supplementation for Skincare & Anti-Aging: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIz5MvW7X1M Why Your NAD+ Supplement Isn't Helping Your Skin | The Truth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euIj0eLt4Aw The Science Behind NAD+, Link Between NAD+ Skin Aging, Importance of Precursors: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmsUeQklYY0 The NAD+ Protocol That Could Reverse Skin Aging (Doctors Won't Tell You) | Dr. Scott Sherr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYJgVSoj_XM Previous NAD Podcasts:NAD 101: Unlocking The Secrets To Youthful Skin: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/nad-101-unlocking-the-secrets-to-youthful-skin/id1552026927?i=1000652231123 The Relationship Between NAD+ and Your Skin, NAD+ Depletion, Bioavailability, Precursors, Sirtuins, and More: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/22-the-relationship-between-nad-and-your-skin/id1552026927?i=1000568088462 The Science Behind NAD+, the Link Between NAD+ and Skin Aging, and the Importance of Precursors: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-science-behind-nad-the-link-between-nad-and/id1552026927?i=1000615122098 Ben Azadi: How NAD+ Helps Reverse Aging + Skin Problems Connected to Deeper Health Issues: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ben-azadi-how-nad-helps-reverse-aging-skin-problems/id1552026927?i=1000662495945 Turn Back the Clock: NAD and Skin Biohacking: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/turn-back-the-clock-nad-and-skin-biohacking/id1552026927?i=1000681105344 Research Studies Mentioned: Age-Associated Changes In Oxidative Stress and NAD+ Metabolism In Human Tissue: https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0042357 CD38 Dictates Age-Related NAD Decline and Mitochondrial Dysfunction: https://www.cell.com/cell-metabolism/fulltext/S1550-4131(16)30225-7 Senescent cells promote tissue NAD+ decline during ageing via the activation of CD38+ macrophages: https://www.nature.com/articles/s42255-020-00305-3 Enhanced SIRT1 Activity Mitigates UVB-Induced Senescence in Dermal Fibroblasts: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39401943/ Slc12a8 is a nicotinamide mononucleotide transporter: https://www.nature.com/articles/s42255-018-0009-4 The efficacy and safety of β-nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) supplementation in healthy middle-aged adults: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11357-022-00705-1 Nicotinamide riboside and nicotinamide mononucleotide facilitate NAD+ synthesis via enterohepatic circulation: https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/sciadv.adl5154 Chronic nicotinamide riboside supplementation is well-tolerated and elevates NAD+ in healthy middle-aged and older adults: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-018-03421-7 Find more from Young Goose:Use code PODCAST10 to get 10% off your first purchase, and if you're a returning customer use the code PODCAST5 to get 5% off at https://younggoose.comInstagram: @young_goose_skincareHead to younggoose.com/products/youth-body-cream for 20% offBody Cream: Head to younggoose.com/products/youth-body-cream for 20% off
This week on Monday Mailtime, Producer Dom is back reacting to two of your encounters that don't just feel paranormal… they feel personal.First, Alan shares a chilling experience inside the Tower of London: a place steeped in execution, imprisonment, and centuries of unresolved history. What begins as a quiet autumn visit quickly turns into something far more unsettling when a raven locks eyes with him… and moments later, he feels a hand press into his back, despite no one being there. But it doesn't end at the Tower. Because whatever noticed him… may have followed him home. Then, Daniel takes us to Mount Olympus: a place once believed to be the literal home of the gods. What starts as a peaceful hike turns into something far more profound when the atmosphere shifts, the silence deepens, and an unseen presence makes itself known. A voice without language. A force without form. And a message that couldn't be clearer: you are not permitted. These aren't just ghost stories. These are encounters with places that feel guarded… watched… and unwilling to let you pass unnoticed. Are some locations still protected by something ancient? Can energy attach itself to you and follow you home? And what happens when you step somewhere you were never meant to be?Producer Dom reacts, breaks it down, and explores the darker paranormal possibilities behind both experiences.Because sometimes… it's not about what you see. It's about what sees you first.A Create Podcast Hosted on Acast. "“Do not turn back to that which is false.”In this sermon from Galatians 4:8–20, the Apostle Paul confronts a painful and dangerous reality: believers who are tempted to turn back from the gospel they once embraced. What makes this temptation so tragic is not only its theological error, but the relational destruction it leaves in its wake.Paul reminds the Galatians of who they once were—enslaved to what is “by nature not gods”—and contrasts that past with the grace they have now received: to know God and, more importantly, to be known by Him. Against that backdrop, Paul asks a piercing question: How can you go back? This passage exposes the subtle danger of religious compromise. Paul warns that embracing the message of the Judaizers—though outwardly religious and rooted in biblical history—is, in fact, a return to the same worldly principles the Galatians left behind. There are ultimately only two ways of thinking: the way of the world and the way of the gospel. Any system that undermines justification by faith alone belongs to the former, no matter how pious it appears. The sermon also highlights the deeply personal nature of Paul's exhortation. The Galatians' drift from the gospel has already affected their relationship with him. Once marked by love, warmth, and mutual sacrifice, their posture toward Paul has grown cold. False teachers have courted them, flattered them, and turned them away—not only from Paul, but from Christ Himself.Paul's words culminate in a moving pastoral plea: he is again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in them. His exhortation flows not from pride or control, but from deep love and anguish for their souls. This message is not merely historical. The same temptation confronts the church today, as many are drawn toward systems that elevate tradition, works, and human authority over the sufficiency of Christ and His gospel. The call of Galatians remains urgent:Do not turn back.Cling to Christ.Remain rooted in the gospel of grace revealed in Scripture.Scripture: Galatians 4:8–20Theme: The danger of abandoning the gospel for religious substitutesFocus: Justification by faith, spiritual regression, pastoral love, and perseverance in ChristIf this sermon is helpful, consider subscribing and sharing it with others who are wrestling with these questions."

Sermon Title: Turn BackDate: March 2, 2026Sermon Series: Rebuilt Passage: Haggai 2:10-23 Speaker: Ronnie CannonHave you ever felt like you had to work your way into heaven? That your good behavior and religious deeds were what made you acceptable to God? In Haggai 2, God confronts His people with a sobering truth. Even though they were actively rebuilding the temple, their hearts were still distant from Him. Their disobedience affected everything they touched. The problem wasn't their lack of activity; it was the condition of their hearts. And the same is true for us today. Through this story, God makes it clear that outward behavior and religious activity cannot clean a compromised heart. But even in His correction, His mercy shines through. He lovingly calls His people, then and now, to Turn Back, realign their hearts with His, and rebuild with renewed devotion.

This week is a very special episode that I am so excited for you to hear. Wendy bravely shares what her journey to changing her relationship with alcohol has looked like over the past year AND what finally helped her turn a corner, so much that whenever she has an urge to drink, she thinks 'I don't want to run back the page.' She shares what it looked like before and how much she was drinking and why. And some very nuanced detail in HOW she works through the urge to drink that has helped her be alcohol free now for almost 3 months! Wendy is a really good example of what is possible. This episode will also motivate you to not give up before the gettin' gets good! You never know when it will all come together for you, so you need to stay in the game until it does!
