When One Moment Changes Everything | Kelley Latta | 08.17.2025 by ProvidenceCommunityChurch
When she woke up one morning, she had no idea that the most intense paranormal experience of her life was waiting on the other side of the room. What started as a flash of light quickly turned into a full-body apparition of her late grandmother—complete with perfume, jewelry, and a message she couldn't quite hear. Frozen in place and overwhelmed with emotion, she was left with one unforgettable truth: sometimes the people we've loved and lost really do come back… even if it's just for a moment. In this life-changing message, Pastor Jentezen Franklin explores how a single moment—divinely orchestrated—can alter the course of your entire life. With heartfelt stories and biblical examples, he reminds us that God often works suddenly, turning what seems like an ordinary moment into a supernatural breakthrough. This teaching highlights: How one encounter with God can redefine your destinyThe importance of being spiritually alert and readyBiblical moments where everything changed in an instant—like David facing Goliath or the woman with the issue of blood touching Jesus' garmentWhy your next moment may hold the miracle you've been praying for Jentezen encourages believers not to underestimate the power of the present. This is your moment—be ready, be bold, and trust that God can do more in one second than we can in a lifetime. Jaggy and I thank you for tuning in and SHARING!

Oh my goodness, I cannot begin to tell you just how special this episode was for me! Back in 2019, I actually missed an opportunity to ask Liane Moriarty a question because I was too nervous to put my hand up. Fast forward to today, and I can't quite believe I got to do a whole interview with Liane and I absolutely loved every single moment. It was a total dream come true!Liane joins me in this episode to discuss her brilliant new novel, Here One Moment. We chat all about the incredible (and, let's be honest, very unsettling!) premise of a woman giving out death predictions on a delayed flight, and where that idea came from. We then delve into our own opinions on fate, destiny, and even clairvoyants – it was all quite deep for a Monday morning! Of course, as always, we also discover the five books that have shaped Liane's life, which are:Playing Beatie Bow by Ruth ParkFeeling Sorry For Celia by Jaclyn Moriarty (currently unavailable on bookshop.org)Pennington's Seventeenth Summer by K.M. PeytonThe Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey NiffeneggerThe Accidental Tourist by Anne TylerBefore we move on, I'd like to officially reassure all my lovely listeners that I have finally picked up The Time Traveller's Wife, and I am really enjoying it! It only took the gentle encouragement of several bestselling authors to get me to actually pick it up, but hey, I got there in the end! Also mentioned in this episode:The Immortalists by Chloe BenjaminThe Measure by Nikki ErlickThe Jane Austen Book Club by Karen Joy FowlerForever by Judy BlumeThree Days in June by Anne TylerWell, that is officially it for Season 3! I honestly don't know where the last eight weeks have gone, but I really, really hope that you have enjoyed this season as much as I have. What if one powerful moment with a teacher could change your child's entire future—and your own? In this heartfelt episode of the Child Care Genius Podcast, Brian and Carol sit down with child care business owner Jessica Lloyd, who shares how one life-altering conversation with her daughter's teacher sparked her journey into entrepreneurship. From music therapy to leading a thriving child care business in Utah, Jessica opens up about the personal experiences, struggles, and deep “why” that shaped her mission to build something truly special for children and families. Listen in as Jessica reflects on her transition from corporate dreams to the hands-on reality of child care ownership. She reveals how her center was born not from a business plan—but from a mother's determination to create a space where her children would be genuinely seen, supported, and loved. You'll hear about the center that changed her daughter's developmental trajectory, and the teacher who simply said, “We'll see,” instead of accepting limits. That simple act of belief became the foundation for everything Jessica would go on to build. Join us as Jessica shares how she now pours that same love and belief into her team, intentionally investing in leadership development, reading together as a staff, and creating a workplace culture rooted in connection. Her story reminds us that a strong mindset isn't just about staying positive—it's about staying grounded in purpose, surrounding yourself with the right people, and never losing sight of why you started. Tune in to this episode to hear how coaching gave Jessica the clarity, structure, and community she needed to thrive—and why she believes every child care owner needs a tribe. Plus, don't miss her thoughts on attending destination conferences (yes, including Mexico!) and the powerful shift that happens when you finally step away from the noise and focus on building your dream with intention. In this episode, our host Kyia Mochitani invites her fiancé Jake Stammer on the podcast to share the quiet truth behind their love story: they never had a single, crystal-clear moment when they knew they were meant to be. Instead, their relationship grew gradually—through prayer, patience, consistency, and Christ at the center. From navigating long-distance to walking through seasons of grief and growth, they open up about the small moments that built a deep, lasting connection. Together, they challenge the cultural (and often Christian) pressure to have a dramatic “aha” moment and offer encouragement to anyone wondering if peace, not sparks, might be the real sign of something holy.

Sermon by Dr. Robert Lewis 8/31/2003 In today's episode, we draw four powerful life lessons from the story of Rahab in Joshua chapter 2. First, we're reminded that God often sends His message through people—He uses ordinary encounters to speak to us in extraordinary ways. Second, every encounter with God brings us to a crossroads: we can respond with faith, or shrink back in fear. Third, real faith is never passive; it acts. Rahab didn't just believe—she took courageous steps that changed her life. And finally, we learn that faith is always rewarded. When we trust God and follow His lead, He not only delivers us from our past but invites us into a new future. Rahab's story shows us that one moment of active faith can change everything. Josh 2
What up, Beasts. This conversation with Rob Lohman cracked me wide open in the best way. Rob's story is one of redemption, resilience, and raw honesty, and it hits deep. From battling addiction and suicidal ideation to rediscovering his faith and building a new life rooted in purpose, Rob doesn't just talk about recovery, he lives it. He shares the moment God told him, “You're done,” and the weight of that literal and metaphorical barbell he nearly let end it all. Instead, Rob chose to fight. To feel. To recover. And now he helps others do the same through his coaching, podcasting, and deeply personal work in the addiction recovery world. We also get into the messy middle of healing, how guilt, shame, and insecurity linger even after the substances are gone, and how movement, connection, and calling things like scars and spider veins by name (shoutout to Fred) can help us reclaim our power. Rob reminds us that recovery isn't a checkbox. It's a way of life. A decision we make every single day. This episode is packed with hard truths, grace-filled wisdom, and that signature blend of faith and grit that makes Rob who he is. If you're in the middle of the mess, this one's for you.As always, I hope something lands with you today. I hope something you hear tugs at your heart strings and/or I hope you laugh.Bio: From the depths of addiction and incarceration to thriving as a dynamic speaker and entrepreneur, Rob Lohman is a powerful example of redemption and resilience. Katryn Wright, a behavioral science expert, joins this week's episode of the Allyship in Action Podcast to share some fascinating insights. She reminds us that changing the world isn't about grand gestures, but those tiny, actionable tweaks in our everyday moments. Here are the key themes we explored: Behavioral Science as a Practical Tool: Moving beyond abstract concepts to understand why people behave the way they do and how to create tangible change in organizational settings. Specificity Over Ambiguity: Ditching the "woolly and fluffy" notions of culture for concrete, measurable behaviors in everyday processes like hiring, performance reviews, and team meetings. The Power of "Just-in-Time" Interventions: Delivering the right message, from the right messenger, to the right people, at the right moment, to maximize impact and mitigate bias. Data-Driven Decision Making: Using data to pinpoint specific areas for improvement and track the effectiveness of interventions, rather than relying on generalized assumptions. The Critical Role of Middle Managers: Recognizing the significant influence of middle managers in shaping employee experiences and the need to equip them with inclusive mindsets. Actionable Allyship Takeaway: Identify one specific process or moment within your organization where you suspect inclusivity could be improved. Then, break down the behaviors involved and design a "just-in-time" intervention – a quick, targeted nudge – to encourage more inclusive actions. Remember, it's about boringly specificity and practical steps, not grand gestures. Insightful Quotes: "Culture is the result of the behaviors that people around US display all the time." "If we can get the right message, the right messenger to the right people at the right time, we can have these really outsized effects." "Really figure out what's the problem that you're trying to solve for, and and to be that sounds like an obvious thing to say, but to be as behaviourally specific about that as possible." "These little nudges, though, add up. People notice like, oh, wow, like that promotion. Like, decision felt different." Find Katryn Wright at http://www.morethannow.co.uk/ and on Linkedin. My longtime friend Angela O'Neill shares the journey behind her new book Unspoken Word: One Moment With Jesus Changes Everything. This discussion is a beautiful blend of friendship, faith, creativity, and the power of storytelling. Angela, a theater artist turned author, opens up about how her personal encounters with Jesus and her love for scripture inspired a collection of dramatic monologues that give voice to biblical characters. She dives into how theatrical elements and spoken word can bring scripture to life, how artistic expression deepens our faith, and why the unspoken moments reveal powerful storytelling. Angela shares how one moment with Jesus can change everything—and how sharing your story, even the parts you want to hide, can glorify God and inspire others. You'll also hear a moving performance about the Samaritan woman and her transformation from outcast to evangelist. This episode is a reminder that your story matters, creativity is a gift from God, and faith fuels vision. Whether you're a writer, dreamer, or someone longing to express your testimony, Angela's journey will encourage you to speak the spoken, and unspoken, and step boldly into your calling.https://www.angela-oneill.com/https://www.angela-oneill.com/podcasthttps://www.angela-oneill.com/coming-soon-01Serenity Journal & Connect: https://www.jaymeelizabeth.com/CONNECT WITH JAYME ON SOCIALS: Instagram l YouTube l Pinterest l Facebook

OK Go's new album, "And the Adjacent Possible," delivers a full-on OKGo-ian video for the song Love that rivals the legendary videos that put them on the map including A Million Ways, The One Moment, Upside Down & Inside Out and, of course, the GOAT - treadmill extravaganza Here It Goes Again. Not to be outdone, the TMEP Show has its own VIDEO featuring the Danimal, OK Go drummer Dan Konopka, telling us about his staredown with the Muppets' Animal and getting intimate with Miss Piggy. WATCH HERE: https://youtube.com/shorts/D7uznjLaGzI Known to his friends as Piss Bucket Dan, Konopka goes deep to reveal Spinal Tap Moment stories that include being held for suspected drug possession while crossing the Canadian border; performing a tooth extraction on a Snow Patrol fan; and insulting Jerry Cantrell's songs that were some of Alice in Chains's most iconic hits. Visit our Substack for bonus content: https://designbetterpodcast.com/p/rewind-ok-go Aarron and Eli are traveling with their families for Spring Break, so we're bringing back one of our favorite episodes from 2023 with the band OK Go. In the time since we recorded the interview, they've come out with a new album, and with several new music videos, including for the track Love, shot with no cuts…just “mirrors, robotics, and a whole lot of planning.” Enjoy! *** Not many bands hire Russian pilots to film a Zero-G video on their cosmonaut training plane, known as the “vomit comet”. But those are the kinds of extremes that OK Go will go to in the pursuit of creativity. Tim Nordwind and Damian Kulash, the band's founders, met at camp as pre-teens in search of a fellow creative nerd, and founded the band in 1998. Over the past 25 years, they've created 3 Grammy-nominated music videos, and won Best Music Video for Here It Goes Again. From the perfectly timed explosions filmed in slow-motion for their song The One Moment, to the immensely elaborate Rube Goldberg contraption they created for This Too Shall Pass, OK Go is almost like a performance-art troupe that just happens to be a fantastic rock band. In this episode on the creative process, we talk to Tim and Damian about how they come up with ideas, the macro and micro elements of their creativity, and achieving the impossible. *** Premium Episodes on Design Better This ad-supported episode is available to everyone. In a recent study - the United States does not fare well when it comes to the ‘happiest' country in the world - but we want to reflect on what does make us happy including some of the most inspirational stories from the listeners.
Found a post from Mind Essentials (@Mind_Essentials) and I saw this: “Sometimes it takes 10 years to get that one year that changes your life.” As I thought about it, it really hit me the truth to that idea in my life, but also for it taking a long time for even one special moment to come available for us. The importance for all of us to keep looking to make good choices, create good habits and to keep looking to improve - that will help in those special moments to come our way. The opposite is true as well - making poor choices, have a long history of bad habits and don't care to get better, well then many not so good moments will come our way for sure and we may never, ever see that doors even present themselves for the possible good moments. The most consequential and revealing exchange during the vice-presidential debate on Tuesday came toward the end, when JD Vance was asked whether he would seek to challenge this year's election results. That one moment proved that he can't be trusted with the office he seeks. But the 85 minutes preceding that moment had a lot of interesting policy discussion, so we couldn't resist talking about that, too.Thoughts?
