Jesus Christ's love is so powerful that He will leave the 99 to search for the ONE lost sheep. He pursues us even in our brokenness and despair, even when we're weak and distraught. Hosted by songwriter, evangelist and mental health advocate Travis Reinold, We are the 1 exists to shed light on the r…
In this podcast, we discuss the 4 different types of soils that Jesus refers to in Matthew 13 and Luke 8. It helps us understand the difference between the unbeliever (1st soil) and the believer (other 3 soils). Further, it explains what keeps believers from producing fruit in their Christian lives (2nd and 3rd soils).
In this podcast, we'll discuss the importance of family and seven divine purposes: 1) fellowship and community; 2) leadership; 3) a proper place for sex; 4) financial provision; 5) spiritual instruction 6) loving discipline, and 7) a place to model Christ to the unsaved world.
In this podcast we discuss how and when we need to separate ourselves from other people in order to grow closer to God. Also, we discuss the importance of separating ourselves from false Biblical teaching.
Does the gift of Tongues still exist, or has it ceased? And what about the gifts of prophecy and knowledge?
How do we balance our liberty as Christians while meeting people where they're at? And in a politically sensitive world, is it always wrong to offend someone else?
When we make mistakes in the Christian life, it's easy to underestimate the grace of God and believe that God's plan for us has changed. For example, we may think that we're no longer qualified to go into the ministry based upon bad choices we've made in our past. However, a Biblical study of Abraham shows that even when we struggle with faith and obedience, God doesn't quit on us.
The story of Elijah at the Juniper Tree is an encouraging reminder that all believers struggle and have setbacks. It's also a humble reminder that our expectations and plans for bringing glory to God can sometimes lead to discouragement when things don't go as we planned.
Persecution is ramping up in our country. In this episode we share the story of a believer at a military academy, and we discuss how to stay calm in the midst of a world filled with evil and cruelty.
What does it mean to "do no harm?" Are our best intentions actually causing harm to one another? Is it okay to sacrifice one person for the "greater good?" In this podcast, we get more specific regarding how Christians should think and act in an environment of mask mandates and vaccines.
In this podcast, we'll discuss the difference between Freewill and Predestination. And we'll explain the significance to our relationship with God.
What is anger? What are the differences between normal, righteous anger and sinful anger? And what should we do when we become angry?
What is the mark of the beast? What does 666 mean? And should Christians be worried about the mark of the beast and the anti-Christ? In this podcast, we'll answer the questions that are on a lot of our minds.
Stefani and I talk about the crazy world we're all living in these days. Does this mean the "end times" are here? Should we be listening to Christian "prophets?"
Once again, I'm joined by Stefani as we discuss meditation and what the Bible says about meditation.
In this podcast, we discuss that there are two different types of "good." There's "good" that we can perform under the power of our flesh and there's "good" that we can perform under the power of the Spirit. And our "good works" will be evaluated at the Bema, or Evaluation Seat, when we stand before the Lord Jesus Christ.
With a dramatic increase in censorship, fear and shame projection, and the world trying to move towards a one world government, is the Church awake to the evil that's surrounding us? And most importantly, are we remaining strong in our faith and serving as light in a dark world?
In this podcast, we'll discuss miracles and the greatest of all Christmas miracles, the virgin birth. The miracle of the virgin birth shows us that nothing is impossible for God, and that He will work miracles in our lives, despite our circumstances.
The Christmas promise remains with us even when we go through our worst days on this earth. In this podcast, we discuss what Isaiah 9:6 means within its historical context.
Stefani and I interview one of our listeners, Robert Broughton, who is a fellow believer and mental health advocate. In this special episode, Robert, or "Bobby," shares his personal story about his own mental health struggles and God's "reckless" love in his life.
In this podcast, we'll talk about what God says regarding favoritism. Are we demonstrating favoritism in our personal lives? Does favoritism impact our mental health (or other people's mental health)? Does God have "favorites" or does he treat everyone equally? And what does God think when we demonstrate favoritism?
In this podcast, we'll answer the following questions so we can become more effective in prayer: 1) Does the Bible give us any instructions regarding how to pray? 2) If so, what does the Bible say? 3) How important is prayer? 4) And why do we sometimes feel that our prayers aren't being answered?
2020 has not been a normal year, so personally, I've found myself asking myself a lot of questions such as "What in the world is going on?" Is there any truth in "conspiracy theories?" In a world ruled by the Prince of Darkness, how do we have true discernment? And what effect does "going too far down the rabbit hole" have on our mental health and spiritual life?
Are we becoming too focused on COVID rules that we're causing God's children to stumble at church? How do we obey our governing authorities in the midst of this pandemic? And are COVID rules contributing towards a mental health crisis in America that is worse than the virus itself?
In this episode, Stefani and I talk about how crazy we can become with confirmation bias. Confirmation bias is related to an insecurity that causes us to gather evidence to support what we already want to believe. So, how do we avoid confirmation bias in our Christian lives? And how do we know when God is really speaking to us?
In this episode, we welcome back Stefani as she discusses how politics and information are impacting our mental health in the midst of an election year. She shares what she's hearing from patients in order to describe how we're all feeling. There's nothing wrong with having strong political viewpoints or participating in politics, but often times politics can distract us and lead us to become more afraid and angry with one another. And perhaps, during COVID-19, Satan couldn't have scripted things any better. With social distancing rules and masks, we're all gravitating more towards our mobile devices where the enemy can influence us (both sides of the aisle) with more information that causes us to become angry or afraid. As Christians, we believe that it's impossible to love one another without God. And even though we may hate evil and opposing ideologies, we're commanded to love all people unconditionally. It's interesting that COVID-19 is a respiratory virus that impacts our ability to breathe and the Greek word for "Spirit" is also used for "breath" and "wind." While no one knows why God's allowing COVID-19 in America, perhaps he's reminding us to use the Holy Spirit rather than our flesh to have love, joy, and peace rather than fear and hatred towards one another. Everyday, we're inundated with worldly viewpoints, so it's imperative that we refresh our thoughts with God's Word. Because while man looks at the outward appearance, God ultimately judges us based upon our thoughts. And finally, Stefani and I discuss compassion. We never know another's full story, so it's impossible to judge others. Only God can judge. And God has a history of making greatness out of people that no one else wants.
This may be one of the most important podcasts on this show because the Christian life is impossible without the Holy Spirit. And if we're trying to accomplish the Christian life through our flesh then it can have significant mental health impacts.
In this podcast, we'll cover other problematic passages in order to reduce our anxiety and know the clear, simple gospel message.
How are you doing? How are your children doing? Are we causing feelings of withdrawal, sadness, anxiety, fatigue, depression, and fear within our children? If so, how will this affect them later in life? Are we teaching our children to be risk-averse? Are we sacrificing our children while talking about "sacrifice"? Are are we, as Christians, compromising and conforming to the world that makes decisions out of fear rather than faith? And what is the real virus? COVID-19 or fear?
Is God allowing COVID-19 in America in order to expose legalism within all of us? Please listen as we discuss real struggles and how legalism is extremely detrimental to our mental health.
Three reasons, I believe, 1) Legalism 2) Politics and 3) Lack of Love You may think, no crap, nothing groundbreaking here. But sometimes, we see but we don't see. And perhaps we're not seeing something. And we're missing a tremendous opportunity for revival in churches across America.
As Christians, we're told to fully rely upon God, but what does that really mean? And as we struggle with mental health issues, what does the road to recovery look like?
So far, a lot's happened in 2020. Consequently, I've heard some people say that we're living in the "last days" and things will only get worse. And, personally, I've gone down a few too many rabbit holes. But what does Scripture have to say about all of this?
While we're saved by grace, what does it mean to "work" after we're saved? And what does it mean to live under grace as Christians? In this podcast, we'll talk about the difference between legalism and grace after we're saved. And how we can tell if our "works" are done under the power of our flesh or the power of the Holy Spirit.
While the enemy tries to employ tactics of fear and shame in order to enslave us and hold us back, God's love and grace extends to anyone (despite past mistakes). To anyone that turns to Him and places their trust in Him. Promises to remember: "As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us" (Psalm 103:12). "I am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, And I will not remember your sins" (Isaiah 43:25). "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wrong doing" (1 John 1:9). "If God is for us who is against us" (Romans 8:31)? "I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his descendants begging bread" (Psalm 37:25). "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28). "Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead" (Philippians 3:13-14).

Please tune-in as we discuss the words of Jesus Christ and how they relate to God's infinite love for His children and His role as healer for the broken.
Once again, I'm joined by my wife, Stefani, a board certified psychiatrist, as we discuss a really important topic, depression. In this episode, we share our personal stories struggling with depression, expose legalism, and reveal God's tremendous love and grace for anyone that suffers.
As Christians, we don't have to be heroes of this world. Instead, let's simply focus on God's mission for us. And, in discussing the "Christian Hero Disorder," we'll contrast the movie, "The 300," with the Biblical story of Gideon and the 300.
Please tune-in as we discuss the Biblical account of Babel and how it relates to our world, ourselves, and our mental health!
In the midst of inundation and messaging from the world that seeks to influence our thoughts away God's thoughts. Let's take a breath and listen to God's voice reminding us to be set apart from worldly viewpoints.
This week, we welcome back my wife, Stefani, a board certified psychiatrist, as we discuss anxiety in an effort to reduce stigma within Christianity and the local church.
Last night, I received horrible news concerning the death of another deer friend that sacrificed so much for his country and other people. With a sinking hole in my heart, I recall stories about my deer friend and discuss the sacred importance of Memorial Day. Never Forget! No Greater Love!
Please tune-in to this podcast as we discuss a topic that's very relevant today during COVID-19. We discuss whether or not it's okay to have debt by reviewing Biblical verses on the topic. And, in doing so, we attempt to reduce the stigma and shame surrounding either being in debt or taking a loan.
There are a million and one definitions for love, but let's define love in God's terms rather than our terms and look at the Biblical definition of true love. So, inevitably we can love God and love others the way He loves us.
What is faith? Do you all see the irony? I’m really asking myself how I can have faith in faith? Because I need to know exactly what faith is in order to make sure that I actually have faith. In order to have faith in my own faith. But in the midst of a lot of confusion regarding Christian faith, let's get to the simple, clear Biblical definition of what faith is.
In this podcast, we'll discuss the simple, grace message of the Bible and the gospel of salvation, and how, sometimes, we can overcomplicate things.
On Easter we celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ that leaves us with incredible hope and a promise regarding our eternal future despite all our imperfections and mistakes from the past!
Please tune-in as we talk about hoarding and what the Bible says regarding the topic. Bottom line: We don't need to be The Horde of Hoards because we have the Lord of Lords.
I'm joined by Stefani as we discuss Christianity and our mental health in the midst of COVID-19.
With everything going on in the world today, let's talk about our greatest resource, our teacher, and our guide through crappy circumstances: The Holy Spirit. Who is the Holy Spirit? What does the Holy Spirit do for us? And how do we use the Holy Spirit?
Is it possible to lose our eternal salvation after we put our trust in Christ? Can we commit a sin that will send us to purgatory or hell? Do we have to work to keep our salvation? Let's talk about grace and God's reckless love that keeps us secure no matter what we do. Because knowing that we're secure, no matter what, is really important for our daily lives and our mental health.
Does our attitude about knowledge keep us from extending grace to others? Sometimes, the more ya know, the less ya flow and the less ya flow the less ya grow, don't ya know.
