In a recent Crosspoint episode, Josh Jackson and Claire Anderson discussed the “hidden epidemic” of mental health challenges among military kids. In this follow-up conversation, Courtney Burdick hosts three fellow military kids—2LT Dani Volle, USA, ENS Mary Ann Leonard, USN, and Matt Taylor—for a roundtable-style reaction episode. Having met at White Sulphur Springs, OCF's eastern camp and conference center, they discuss stories from their respective military kid experiences, thoughts on Claire's research, and more. Have thoughts or want to share your own experience? Reach out to Courtney at courtney.burdick@ocfusa.org. If you would like to share your own story, complete the form on OCF's “Be a Guest” webpage. POINTS TO PONDER As you listen to this conversation with the brats, here are a few questions to ponder in your personal time, with a small group, or with a mentor: Which challenge of military life (deployments, moving, role confusion, food insecurity, etc.) has impacted you or someone you know the most, and how did you see God at work in it? What do you think might help military kids and families? What struck you about this conversation? How do you see military culture—often marked by toughness and stoicism—affecting kids' ability to talk about struggles openly?

What happens when life doesn't unfold the way you thought it would? When the hopes you once held close—marriage, children, grandchildren—don't materialize, or take a completely unexpected path? In this powerful episode, we share the stories of three extraordinary women who bravely open up about their deeply personal experiences of waiting, grieving, and finding meaning in places they never expected. Rachel made the decision to stop trying after years of heartbreaking fertility treatments. Even though the choice was hers, it still hurts, and sometimes in the moments she least expects it (like shul dinners- this was NOT what I expected her to say). Tzipora, a single woman, vulnerably shares that a lot of her pain comes from younger family members who get married and have kids while she is still waiting. Seeing others move forward with their lives, while she is still stuck as the "cool auntie," is just so hard. Peri will never be a grandmother, and she is okay with that. But it's when other people start to brag about the newest baby in their family, or when she needs to put on a brave face for too long, it just becomes too much. More about Rachel Honeyman: Rachel Honeyman has been involved with IWSTHAB since its early days — first as a recipient of support, then as a board member. Rachel and her husband, Tzvi Doron, are childless-not-by-choice after a painful, 5+ year infertility journey, about which they've both written and spoken publicly (including in Instalives and podcasts for IWSTHAB). While motherhood isn't in the cards for Rachel, she gains great comfort in being able to give back to the IWSTHAB community. Rachel has a Master's in English, runs a marketing and web design agency called HoneyBeBold, and is a martial artist and women's self-defense instructor. She lives in Long Island, NY. Mollie Kallen, a former elementary educator and counselor, shares her deeply personal journey after being unexpectedly diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in April 2023. Her story begins with the shock of diagnosis and the rapid transition from her professional life to becoming a full-time patient. Mollie describes the overwhelming emotions and uncertainty she faced, highlighting the importance of resilience and adaptability in the face of life-altering news. Throughout her treatment, which included multiple rounds of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, Mollie emphasizes the critical role of self-advocacy. She discusses how taking an active role in her care—asking questions, seeking second opinions, and understanding her treatment options—empowered her to make informed decisions. Mollie encourages other patients to speak up and be proactive, stressing that self-advocacy can significantly impact outcomes and overall well-being. Mollie also underscores the value of building a strong support system, or a “village,” during cancer treatment. She credits her family, friends, and fellow patients for providing emotional and practical support throughout her journey. This network helped her navigate the physical and psychological challenges of treatment, offering encouragement, companionship, and assistance with daily tasks. Mollie's experience demonstrates that no one should face cancer alone, and that community is a vital resource for healing. In addition to her personal story, Mollie advocates for better communication between patients and healthcare providers. She believes that open, honest dialogue is essential for effective care and encourages patients to utilize available resources such as counseling, yoga, and music therapy. Mollie highlights the need for practical tools and information to help patients and caregivers manage the complexities of cancer treatment, from understanding medical terminology to coping with side effects. Looking ahead, Mollie is channeling her experiences into advocacy and education. She is writing a book aimed at guiding patients and caregivers through the cancer journey, offering insights, encouragement, and practical advice. Her goal is to empower others to navigate their own diagnoses with confidence and hope, ensuring that no one feels isolated or unprepared as they face the challenges of cancer.Mollie Kallen recounts her unexpected diagnosis with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in April 2023 and the immediate upheaval it caused in her life. She highlights the importance of self-advocacy and being proactive in medical decision-making during cancer treatment.Building a supportive "village" of family, friends, and fellow patients was crucial to her emotional and practical well-being.Mollie advocates for open communication with healthcare providers and the use of resources like counseling, yoga, and music therapy. She is writing a book to help guide other patients and caregivers through the complexities of cancer treatment, drawing from her own experiences.----Grab my book A Better Way to Treat Cancer: A Comprehensive Guide to Understanding, Preventing and Most Effectively Treating Our Biggest Health Threat - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CM1KKD9X?ref_=pe_3052080_397514860 Unleashing 10X Power: A Revolutionary Approach to Conquering Cancerhttps://store.thekarlfeldtcenter.com/products/unleashing-10x-power-Price: $24.99-100% Off Discount Code: CANCERPODCAST1Healing Within: Unraveling the Emotional Roots of Cancerhttps://store.thekarlfeldtcenter.com/products/healing-within-Price: $24.99-100% Off Discount Code: CANCERPODCAST2----Integrative Cancer Solutions was created to instill hope and empowerment. Failure is something we all experience—whether in our work, our relationships, or our spiritual walk. But how we respond to failure determines whether it becomes a stumbling block or a stepping stone. In today's culture, where success is often measured by status, wealth, or perfection, the fear of failure can become paralyzing. Send us a textTurning fifty isn't just about crossing an age threshold—it's about recognizing the human connections that build resilience throughout a lifetime. In this deeply personal episode, therapist Steve Bisson reflects on the relationships that have shaped his capacity for strength, growth, and recovery across five decades.Steve begins by honoring his parents, whose contrasting yet complementary influences established his foundation. His father, who lacked a paternal role model yet became an exceptional dad himself, taught Steve about honesty and critical thinking. His mother—a glass-ceiling breaker before the term existed—demonstrated determination through her 47-year career and instilled feminist principles that continue to guide Steve's professional approach. Together, they exemplified loyalty, work ethic, and perseverance that became cornerstones of his resilience framework. The episode takes listeners through Steve's "Three Musketeers" friendship with Joce and Frank—a bond spanning 38 years that has weathered countless challenges. Through emotional storytelling, Steve reveals how these lifelong connections, along with other key friendships, professional relationships, and even his therapy clients, have collectively taught him different aspects of resilience. Perhaps most touching is his tribute to his teenage daughters, who continue to teach him patience, emotional expression, and growth even as they navigate their own challenges.Steve's resilience journey illuminates how our capacity to overcome obstacles isn't built in isolation but through meaningful connections that sustain us. Whether you're approaching a milestone birthday, reflecting on your support network, or simply curious about the human factors behind emotional strength, this episode offers valuable insights into how relationships shape our ability to navigate life's inevitable challenges. Send us a textTruth can be both illuminating and devastating. When I recorded my very first podcast episode on "content communicating" with my then-husband, I believed we were strengthening our marriage by teaching others to "say what you mean and mean what you say." Little did I know he was actively betraying me throughout our entire year of podcasting together.Looking back at that initial episode brings a mixture of embarrassment, pain, and unexpected wisdom. What began as a simple communication concept has evolved into something far more powerful in my life: telling the whole truth. Not just the polite truth or the partial truth, but the complete, nuanced reality of our experiences. This isn't just about clearly expressing whether you need a bathroom break on a road trip—it's about acknowledging the complex, sometimes contradictory truths that define our lives. My truth included desperately wanting to save my marriage while ultimately choosing divorce. It included building a life coaching career focused on helping couples rebuild after betrayal, then transforming that practice when I realized I couldn't be the poster child for staying together through infidelity. The whole truth is messy, painful, and ultimately freeing. Through my own healing journey, I've learned that speaking our complete truth—first to ourselves, then to others—forms the foundation for authentic living after betrayal. Whether deciding to skip an event where seeing my ex would trigger dysregulation or setting boundaries that honor my wellbeing, this practice of whole-truth telling has become my compass. Ever wonder what it's like to tackle one of fitness's fastest-growing challenges alone? In this revealing conversation, CrossFit Bison member Dan Greenberg @danmg1128 takes host coach David Syvertsen @davesy85 through his journey of completing the Hyrox race as a solo competitor. What makes this story particularly remarkable is Dan's comeback from a potentially career-ending back injury that required surgery just a few years prior.Dan shares how he went from being told he had "the worst squat ever seen" to becoming one of the strongest pound-for-pound athletes at his gym. His spontaneous decision to register for Hyrox came without specific training beyond his regular CrossFit routine, yet he completed the challenge with impressive consistency. Maintaining an eight-minute mile pace across eight 1000-meter runs while tackling stations including ski erg, sled push/pull, rowing, and wall balls, Dan discovered that the running portions were surprisingly easier than the strength elements for many participants. The conversation explores the fascinating logistics of Hyrox, which has grown from 700 participants in London to over 40,000 registrants worldwide in just a few years. Unlike traditional CrossFit competitions that can span entire days with significant downtime, Hyrox offers an efficient, streamlined experience with excellent spectator engagement. Dan and host David Syvertsen debate whether the event will maintain its explosive growth trajectory or follow other fitness trends that have plateaued after initial enthusiasm.Perhaps most valuable are Dan's insights about training for such events. While many assume running capacity is the primary determinant of success, Dan highlights the often-overlooked importance of strength training. The stronger you are, the less each station depletes your energy reserves for the runs. His experience proves that CrossFit provides an excellent foundation for High Rocks, though specific training for certain elements like the sled pull can make a significant difference in performance.Ready to push your fitness boundaries in a new way? Dan's story might just be the motivation you need to take on your first Hyrox challenge.#Hyrox #HyroxTraining #HyroxWorld #HyroxAthlete #HyroxCompetition #HyroxLife #HyroxWorkout #HyroxCommunity #HyroxPrep #HyroxJourney@crossfitbison @crossfittraining @crossfit @crossfitgames #crossfit #sports #exercise #health #movement #crossfitcoach #agoq #clean #fitness #ItAllStartsHere #CrossFitOpen #CrossFit #CrossFitCommunity @CrossFitAffiliates #supportyourlocalbox #crossfitaffiliate #personalizedfitness

Engage with scripture readings, heartfelt devotionals, and collective prayers that draw you into the heart of God's love. Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible! In today's episode, we journey together through Ecclesiastes 4–6, Psalm 18, and Ephesians 3, reflecting on the deep questions of life, contentment, and the power of God's love. Host Hunter guides us through ancient wisdom and heartfelt prayers, reminding us that though life can sometimes feel meaningless or overwhelming, we are rooted and strengthened in the immeasurable love of Christ. As we explore the scriptures, we're invited to let our hearts be encouraged, our roots sink deep into God's love, and our imaginations stirred by the beauty of the gospel. Whether you're facing joys or challenges, take a moment with us today to discover the sustaining hope and strength that comes from knowing you are truly loved. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Roots. If you want to grow, you have to have roots. Paul prays that you and I will sink our roots deep down into God's love. His love is where life and growth begin and where it all continues from. His love is where we grow strong. Ephesians 3:16-17 says, “I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources, he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts. As you trust him, your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong.” Paul doesn't want us to merely know about this love; he wants us to go on a journey into it, to discover just how long, how wide, how high, and how deep his love really is. This love knows no limits. It can never be fully sounded. We are forever drawn into its embrace. How are your roots today? If you want to grow and have life and strength, you have to sink your roots into his love. Maybe today it's something as simple as hearing the words, “you are loved.” Is there something that keeps you from really receiving that? Is there shame or a wound? Something that stands between you and those words? Whatever comes and mutes those words and tells you they are not for you, I encourage you today to look into the face of Jesus and receive his love without interference. Today you are loved. So let your roots sink deep into Christ and find strength in him. Today there is nothing that can separate you from the love of Christ. You have been drawn into and embraced by him. You can be strong. Let the beauty of the gospel of Christ draw you further up, farther in, and find your strength in him. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Gracious and everlasting God, you have brought us through the shadow of night into the promise of a new day. You go before us with your mercy, sustain us by your grace and keep us from wandering paths of fear or pride. Let every word we speak and every step we take be formed by the goodness of Christ. O Lord, gather your people far and near. May every tribe and tongue come to know your peace. Let justice roll like a river and healing flow where there has been division. Pour out your spirit upon all flesh and bring us closer to the day when your kingdom comes in fullness through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. And now, as our Lord has taught us, we are bold to pray: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen. OUR WEBSITE: www.dailyradiobible.com We are reading through the New Living Translation.
