It all started with Mr. Ingram getting a flat tire which turned into him and his wife starting a gofundme account for this kind, hard working, dedicated man. His cars motor went out earlier this year and since then, he has been walking 10 miles to work and 10 miles back, which took him 3 hours there and 3 hours back. Rain, sunshine, you name it, he was dedicated enough to walk in it to get to work. He is an 11 year Army Vet and recently lost his daughter to gun violence in Chicago. He hasn’t been able to visit his daughters grave since his car broke down. Mr. Ingram stopped and gave this gentlemen a ride to work and the rest is history! The gofundme was set up to purchase him a vehicle, after reading the story, we decided to donate a vehicle to him. The money raised through gofundme and outside of gofundme, has been used to pay for his car insurance for an entire year, to purchase gas cards and grocery cards, to go towards his rent, etc. Mrs. Ingram asked him what else he may need besides the things listed above and without hesitation, he looked down at his feet and said, “Well, I can think of one thing, a new pair of shoes”. He had gone through 5-6 pairs of shoes over the past 6 months from walking that 6 hour round trip everyday. We are so very grateful and blessed that we were able to gift this man a reliable vehicle, so he can get to work and back as well as visit his daughters grave. God is good! With that being said, a huge congratulations to Mr. Chad Shanley on his 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix, one owner (he is now the second owner) , low miles, very reliable vehicle! As put into his own words, “it doesn’t matter how bad it gets, just keep your head up and just keep going. Everyday can be a blessing for you”. He drove to and from work today for the first time in 6 months!
