Join us in today's sermon podcast where we delve into the transformative power of prayer and faith. The sermon begins with a nostalgic story about old Western TV shows, leading into a powerful testimony of actor Clint Walker's near-death experience and his life-changing prayer. Walker's prayer, uttered in a moment of desperation, serves as a testament to the life-saving power of faith and divine intervention. We then explore the story of Hannah from the Old Testament, who, like Walker, prayed a desperate prayer. Despite her barrenness and the mockery she faced, Hannah's unwavering faith and heartfelt vow to God led to the miraculous birth of her son, Samuel. This story highlights the importance of taking action, trusting in God's plan, and responding to His call. Through these narratives, the sermon encourages listeners to stand up in faith, trust in God's timing, and respond to His guidance, ensuring that their lives align with His divine will. It is a call to live a life of holiness, engage with the community, and lead families in righteousness. Thank you for joining us today. You can find a copy of this sermon, other sermons, and the sermon outline on our church's website, www.mvcnaz.org. We pray that you will seek a church home that recognizes the authority of the Bible. — Are you ready for a camping challenge? Cows kill more Americans each year than snake bites. According to the CDC, 5 Americans per year die from snakebites. While cows, kill 22. If you are ready for a change in your camping habits, give cowboy camping a try. Cowboy camping is when you sleep at night without a tent or camper. You just use a sleeping bag. This style of camping gets its name from how cowboys slept in old western movies. My favorite TV western is Cheyenne. It starred Clint Walker as Cheyenne Body. Walker was a big man but Cheyenne was a kind-hearted drifter who helped right wrongs in the cities he visited. James Garner who if you're over 40 you will remember as Rockford and if you're under 40, he plays the older version of Ryan Gosling's character in “The Notebook” was supposed to play Cheyenne but he missed the phone call. At least one time in every episode of Cheyenne, he ends up sleeping on the ground next to the campfire. And that was the inspiration for Mark Wilcox's latest book guide: Cowboy Camping! Valeria interviews Mark Wilcox — He is the author of “Cowboy Camping: A Guide For Camping Without A Tent (Camping Tips And Tricks) and several other books on camping.” Mark is also the co-founder of Camping Forge a website about camping and backpacking. He once backpacked 100 miles in 90 days. After 25 years in IT, Mark has made it his mission to help people enjoy the outdoors. Mark has published over 31 books on camping, backpacking, and outdoor survival. To learn more about Mark Wilcox and his work, please visit: https://www.campingforge.com — This podcast is a quest for well-being, a quest for a meaningful life through the exploration of fundamental truths, enlightening ideas, insights on physical, mental, and spiritual health. The inspiration is Love. The aspiration is to awaken new ways of thinking that can lead us to a new way of being, being well.

Show notes provided by Joe Peluso: "As my old pappy used to say, work is fine for killin' time, but it's a shaky way to make a living." Brett Maverick as portrayed by the great James Garner And WORK they did! From James Garner to Lorne Greene, from Michael Landon to Clint Walker, from Miss Barbara Stanwyck to Melody Patterson, the working actors of Hollywood turned the scripts of numerous writers into a passel of TV episodes that lassoed a nation of eager viewers for over two decades. Would the affable Brett Maverick parlay a sawbuck into a small fortune needed to rebuild an orphanage? Could The Virginian and Trampas lead a crew of cowpokes on a seemingly endless trek that drove 5000 head of prime beef from Medicine Bow, Wyoming to Abilene, Kansas before the winter snows set in? And would Captain Parmenter ever wise up to the shenanigans of Sgt. O'Rouke and Cpl. Agarn in and around Fort Courage? Join your two favorite bronco-busting ranch hands, Richie and Joe, as they ride the frontier landscape that was the AmericanTV Western. Unforgettable larger-than-life characters, harsh landscapes fraught with famine and peril, unbridled lawlessness, and passion, and countless acts of selfless heroism were all part and parcel of a typical night of TV watching in the 1950s and 1960s. From Saturday morning kiddie fare (The Lone Ranger and Fury) to prime-time "adult westerns" Maverick and Bonanza), the genre never ceased to amaze and entertain its loyal viewers. With A-list guest stars and talented newcomers (Burt Reynolds, Steve McQueen, and Clint Eastwood, to name a few), TV westerns told bold tales of courage, tolerance, friendship, and compassion. Sure, there was the occasional shoot-em-up, and the "treeing of a town" now and again, but the weekly efforts of Ben Cartwright, Marshall Matt Dillon, Victoria Barkley, and Judge Henry Garth paved the way over the dusty trails to a more civilized western frontier. And we loved it!! What else is there left to say but, "Who was that masked man?"

"Feed the French. Kill the Germans" The Dirty Dozen (1967) directed by Robert Aldrich and starring Lee Marvin, Charles Bronson, Jim Brown, Ernest Borgnine, John Cassavetes, Telly Savalas, Trini Lopez, Donald Sutherland and Clint Walker. Next Time: Tommy (1975)
An explosive inside look at The Dirty Dozen, the star-studded war film that broke the rules, shocked the critics, thrilled audiences, and became an all-time classic. The year was 1967. A cinematic blockbuster exploded across American popular culture. The Dirty Dozen didn't just reinvent the “men on a mission” war story, it blew the genre to pieces. Like its ragtag team of misfits, it defied authority, mocked the military, and still managed to deliver action, adventure, and no-holds-barred Nazi-killing. It also received four Oscar nominations, launched the careers of many Hollywood legends, and inspired generations of filmmakers like Sam Peckinpah, Quentin Tarantino, and James Gunn. Based on exclusive interviews with the surviving cast and crew, friends and families of the stars, and other Hollywood insiders, Killin' Generals: The Making of The Dirty Dozen, the Most Iconic WW II Movie of All Time (Citadel Press, 2023) is a riveting must-read for film buffs, military fans, and anyone who loves a down-and-dirty adventure tale. Detailed, insightful, and gossipy, Epstein's homage spotlights the movie's endless barrage of cinematic gold. During a time when America was reeling from turmoil, Hollywood held an indelible mirror up to a changing society. Films like Bonnie and Clyde, The Graduate, Cool Hand Luke, and In the Heat of the Night would define the era. But it was a gritty, violent, darkly comic World War II movie called The Dirty Dozen that would really strike a chord with audiences—and become the year's biggest box office success. Heading up the all-star cast were Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, John Cassavettes, Charles Bronson, Donald Sutherland, Jim Brown, Robert Ryan, Clint Walker, and at his most terrifying best, Telly Savalas, propelling many of them to stardom. Dwayne Epstein is the author of several young adult biographies, covering such celebrity personalities as Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, Hilary Swank, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, and Denzel Washington for Lucent Books' People in the News series. Epstein also contributed to Bill Krohn's bestselling books Hitchcock at Work and Joe Dante and the Gremlins of Hollywood. His biography Lee Marvin: Point Blank was a New York Times bestseller. Daniel Moran earned his B.A. and M.A. in English from Rutgers University and his Ph.D. in History from Drew University. The author of Creating Flannery O'Connor: Her Critics, Her Publishers, Her Readers, he teaches research and writing at Rutgers and co-hosts the podcast Fifteen-Minute Film Fanatics, found at https://fifteenminutefilm.podb... and on Twitter @15MinFilm. #Corntober is here! And what better way to kick things off than 1977's DEADLY HARVEST, a Canadian eco-thriller about famine, human desperation, and our universal hatred of eggplants! Clint Walker and Kim Cattrall lead this film about a society with a dwindling food supply due to climate change, yet plenty of gasoline and eggplants! (But does anyone eat eggplants?) Only computers have the answers of how long we have, but at least it only takes two men to load a cow into a painted Hearst! Or does it? Some of you already know and some of you don't.

Episode 55 : Lolita and The Dirty Dozen with Colin Maitland Colin Maitland in his short but brilliant film career acted alongside heavyweights such as Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, Charles Bronson, Jim Brown, John Cassavetes, Telly Savalas, Donald Sutherland and Clint Walker in Robert Aldrich's 1967 classic, The Dirty Dozen. Colin played one of the infamous Dozen, Seth Sawyer. Colin also played Charlie Sedgwick in Stanley Kubrick's 1962 film, Lolita. His scene was set at Camp Climax and Colin played directly opposite the inimitable James Mason. And as this year marks the 60th anniversary of that film, we thought we'd commemorate this criminally underappreciated (by some, not all) Kubrick masterpiece by talking to Mr Colin Maitland. We interviewed Colin in March 2022, when he told us some amazing behind-the-scenes stories about his time filming The Bedford Incident, A Shot In The Dark, The Dirty Dozen and Lolita. Clint Walker, firearms aficionado and fellow Montanan, joins Sam on The Wild Initiative to discuss selecting your ideal hunting rifle. Clint goes over the importance of getting a “smart choice” rifle, which means choosing one that will get the job done, but also has ammo available, especially during times of scarcity. Clint talks about his time shooting in precision long-distance tournaments with the rifles he built. He then goes into his first hunting experience and how, even though he's great at target shooting, it doesn't always translate into a perfect shot on an animal. After his realization that he had no clue how to dress an animal, Clint turned to YouTube and the numerous helpful how-to videos available. He says you have to get out of your comfort zone and try new things to feel a rush you've never experienced. Later on Sam and Clint discuss long distance shooting on animals when you have so many things to factor in and how it's crucial to be comfortable with your rifle or any weapon and the shot you plan to make. We are kicking off a series of podcasts with a focus on learning more about big game species in BC and how they are managed to ensure sustainable wildlife populations and hunting opportunities. In the first episode, I am pleased to welcome wildlife biologist Conrad Thiessen. Conrad has a very cool job in the Northwest corner of BC (Region 6). This is an area of relatively low road density and high wilderness and wildlife values, so he spends his workdays flying around in a helicopter, in spectacular wilderness areas, counting wildlife. Conrad's work is focused on caribou management, so we dive into the topic of caribou, discuss ecotypes, their range, habitat, migration patterns, population status in BC, and methods to assess herd health and numbers. Conrad describes survey and calculation methods, as well as the opportunity to work with First Nations on research projects. He introduces and explains concepts like “calf recruitment”, the ideal calf/cow ratio, and shares details about the delicate and exciting process of “netting caribou” for the purpose of fitting them with research collars. Of course, we get to talk about caribou behaviour, hunting experiences and the ideal time to hunt caribou for optimal taste. We reflect on the impacts of human activity, climate change and predation on caribou population dynamics and Conrad reveals an unlikely, yet successful caribou predator, besides wolves and bears. Give this episode a listen if you are interested in caribou biology, conservation or hunting and you will find a few other exciting details about the life of caribou and wildlife biologists in Region 6. To keep an eye on Conrad and his adventures in an “unbelievably, indescribably” beautiful place, follow him on Instagram @conrad_thiessen. Poster photo credit: Clint Walker This episode is dedicated to Dr. Valerius Geist, wildlife biologist, conservationist, great storyteller, and kind human. You will be missed by the conservation community. This episode is brought to you by West Coast Kitchen. Check out their stuff and use the EATWILD discount code for 10% off Show note: At some point in the podcast I mention that Jody, the hunting camp cook, will not use cook with caribou meat that is harvested in late September. The intention was to suggest that the meat may have a gamey taste, and may not be as pleasant as the other meat options. In Jody's case, she may choose to use the moose or sheep meat that would also be available in a hunting camp to make dinner. The caribou hunters are required to take all edible portions of the meat home and it will be consumed, just with a bit more spice if it happens to be gamey.

3-2-21 Tonight we're back on our regular schedule, and are happy to be talking with Clint Walker and Chase Cohagan, of Walker Honey Farm and Dancing Bee Winery. Clint Walker III is a third-generation beekeeper and the owner of Walker Honey Farm in Rogers, TX. In 2011, Walker Honey Farm opened Dancing Bee Winery as the mead making arm of the business. Walker Honey Farm was founded in 1930, in the midst of the Great Depression, when Clint Walker Sr. started with 150 hives. Over the years, the business has expanded and grown to encompass bee operations all over Texas. Clint is a third generation Texas beekeeper. Like his father and grandfather before him, he is a full-time beekeeper. His son, Jonathan— became lead beekeeper in 2018. That makes him the fourth generation in the Walker family since 1930 to choose beekeeping as a profession and lifestyle. During Clint's lifetime their family has operated bees for profit—either pollination services for a fee or for honey production—in every ecoregion of Texas except the Trans Pecos. Chase Cohagan has been Dancing Bee's mead maker since 2014, specializing in meads that appeal to wine drinkers. The choice to call ourselves Dancing Bee Winery rather than Meadery was deliberate. Most of Dancing Bee's meads are still, in a corked bottle, and around 12-14% alcohol by volume. We also make carbonated session meads on tap, for growler fills or canning. Chase also helps with beekeeping and honey extracting at Walker Honey Farm. Join us on the live chat and don't be afraid to call in if you want to! Tonight at 9PM ET, we'll be talking with Dustin Deisher and Jeff Anderson, award winning home meadmakers. The topic at hand is bench trials. In making mead, we do our fermentation, feed our yeast, and do our racking and stabilization. But once that's all done, the mead needs to be finished. And as anyone with more than a couple batches under their belt can tell you, yeast don't read the alcohol range info on the packets, and fermentations often end where you want to make adjustments after it finishes. It may need more acid, or tannins, or need sweetness or flavors from fruits, spices or a honey varietal adjusted to get to the final result you want. And that is where bench trials come in. Figuring out what needs to be added or adjusted to get that final mead flavor profile is a process, and we're going to dig into that tonight. Dustin Deisher started brewing with his former band mate and best friend Jeremy Goehring in 2013 after binging on Skyrim. After getting some equipment and some pointers from the local homebrew shop they were on their way to conjure up some liquid gold! In 2014 they met other fellow mead makers when they joined the Lincoln Lagers Homebrew Club. After their first medal at a major competition (2nd with a wildflower traditional at the 2014 Mead Free Or Die) they were hooked. They spent many years competing with standard strength meads. It wasn’t until the last couple of years they really started pursuing session meads. After applying some techniques used in brewing beer they could add new elements such as carbonation to their arsenal! Dustin started using different beer yeasts and post fermentation additions to produce balanced and sparkling melomels. This eventually led them to the Mazer Cup where they were able to put their hydromels to the real test. They had the pleasure to do a scale up of one of their 2019 M3A Mazer Cup winners at Boiler Brewing Co. Along with competing, Dustin became a Certified Beer and Mead BJCP Judge. Becoming a judge has helped him develop a better palate for varietal honeys. When they used these in their hydromel batches it took everything to a whole new level. Last year they saw the fruits of their labor when they placed 2nd BOS under Ken Schramm at The Valkyries Horn. Dustin's next step in his mead making career is to bring sparkling hydromels to his local craft brew industry. Jeff Anderson been homebrewing for 8 years. His main love is brewing traditional German styles of beer but after Curt Stock visited his brew club for their annual Sower's Cup competition several years ago, Jeff fell in love with the idea of making fast turn around hydromel strength meads and specifically fruit and berry meads. Most of his inspiration is pulled from his culinary experience and he really just loves to experiment with different flavor combinations. Currently, he is also a BJCP certified beer and mead judge. Before covid, Jeff was on track to round out the trifecta with a cider cert as well until NHC was cancelled. He really loves education in homebrewing and makes it a goal to continually add new techniques to his brewing toolbox. Join us on the live chat and don't be afraid to call in if you want to! 2-2-21 Tonight at 9PM ET we'll be talking with Tom Repas. Tom has been on the show before, and we're having him back, as he's an absolute fountain of information! We're going to talk with Tom about mead, specifically mead in secondary. There is a lot that happens in secondary, like stabilization, clarification, backsweetening, adjuncts and adjustments. So we're Tom is a Master Beekeeper and owner of Canyon Rim Honey Bees, providing bees and honey in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Tom speaks on beekeeping all over the country, and has presented several times at the AMMA MeadCon on both beekeeping and meadmaking. Tom has won a large number of awards for his mead as well. Tom is a 4th generation beekeeper, and has been working with bees since he was a kid. He kept bees and sold the honey for extra money in high school. He went into professional beekeeping while he was still active as a medical doctor, and has developed a cross for bees that are gentle, overwinter well, and are mite resistant. On the mead side of things, Tom is a very talented mead maker who consistently wins medals with his meads, and has a skill for thinking outside the box for flavor profiles. His mushroom mead was the talk of the mead community for some time when he brought it out to taste. I got to try it, I was stunned at how good it was. Of course, Tom uses his own honey, as well as honeys from other providers and areas, and they're all good! Tom says his meads are 'ok'. We think they're better than that, lol. On this episode your host Mike Hearne sits down with cohost Copper Siems to interview Oklahoma Professional Skateboarder Clint Walker. Clint is from Altus Oklahoma, a tiny town near the Texas boarder. Altus had a small but passionate skate scene which captured Clints natural ability and spurred him to pursue his passion of becoming a professional skater. Moving to Cali straight after high school, Clint went all in and in a short time got picked up by none other than the King of Skateboarding Mr Tony Hawk. Listen in as Clint tells his story, from his Altus days to riding on the Birdhouse team for Tony Hawk. Huge thanks to Cooper for setting this one up and as always don't forget to share this with one friend and leave us a review 5* preferred. #thisisoklahoma

On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, Professor Steven Calabresi explains his opinion that the appointment of Robert Mueller by Rod Rosenstein is unconstitutional because it violates the Appointments Clause. Mueller is more like a principal officer than an inferior one since he's not nominated by the President and confirmed by the senate. Additionally, four attorneys reporting to Mueller claimed to have "Special Assistant US Attorney" status which confirms that Mueller has "Special US Attorney" status confirming that he is acting as principal officer without nomination by the President or the advice and consent of the US Senate as the Constitution requires. Later, former New Orleans mayor, Mitch Landrieu, was presented with the JFK award for removing Confederate statues. We are now destroying our own history and giving awards for it. These statues help us remember history, good or bad. Finally, a good friend of the show Clint Walker passed away at 90 years old. He was a former merchant seaman who became an actor; he was best known for his role in Cheyenne and the Dirty Dozen. He was a solid conservative and very supportive of President Trump.

Título original The Dirty Dozen Año 1967 Duración 145 min.
Bronco was a Western series on ABC from 1958 through 1962. The program starred Ty Hardin as Bronco Layne, a former Confederate officer who wandered the Old West, meeting such famous people as Wild Bill Hickok, Billy the Kid, Jesse James, Theodore Roosevelt, Belle Starr and Cole Younger. Bronco was born when Warner Bros. executives and actor Clint Walker clashed over Walker's contract on the series Cheyenne. Walker had walked out on his show over such stringent clauses as a requirement that he kick back half of all personal appearance fees to Warner Bros., and that he only record for Warner music labels. When the two sides came to an impasse, the network hired newcomer Ty Hardin to play the new character of Bronco Layne, but kept the title of Cheyenne. When Walker came back to his series, Bronco Layne was spun off into his own show. Bronco at first alternated with another Western series, Sugarfoot, featuring Will Hutchins. In 1960, the two began alternating with Cheyenne under the Cheyenne title. Sugarfoot was dropped in 1961, leaving only Bronco and Cheyenne to alternate. Other Warner Bros. westerns in production around this time included Maverick with James Garner, Jack Kelly, and Roger Moore, Colt .45 with Wayde Preston, and Lawman with John Russell; series characters occasionally crossed over into each others' shows.
Ely won the role of Tarzan in 1966 after playing supporting roles in films such as South Pacific (1958), as an airplane navigator, The Fiend Who Walked the West (1958) and The Remarkable Mr. Pennypacker (1959).[citation needed]During the filming of Tarzan, Ely did virtually all of his stunts for the series,[3] and suffered two dozen major injuries in the process, including two broken shoulders and various lion bites.[4]Ely's height (6'4") and athletic build also won him the title role in the film Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze (1975), as well as various guest shots. He was in five episodes of the series Fantasy Island; in one, in 1978, Ely portrayed Mark Antony in a Roman military short tunic and breastplate. Also in 1978, Ely starred in the Wonder Woman television series two-part episode "The Deadly Sting."[citation needed]Ely starred on the series The Aquanauts in 1960–1961, in the western adventure film The Night of the Grizzly (1966) opposite Clint Walker, and later appeared in Jürgen Goslar's slavery movie Slavers (1978). In the 1980s, he hosted the musical game show Face the Music, as well as the 1980 and 1981 Miss America Pageants, replacing longtime host Bert Parks.[5] Later in the decade, Ely starred in a 1987–1988 revival of the 1960s adventure series Sea Hunt as Mike Nelson, the role played by Lloyd Bridges in the original series.[citation needed]In the 1990s, Ely’s roles included a retired Superman from an alternative reality in the 1991 two-part episode "The Road to Hell" of the Superboy syndicated television series, and a big game hunter named Gordon Shaw in the 1992 episode "Tarzan the Hunted" of the syndicated Tarzán TV series (starring Wolf Larson). Until about 2001, Ely made appearances on such television shows as Sheena and Renegade.[citation needed]Ely had retired from acting in 2001, but he returned to acting with an appearance in the television movie Expecting Amish (2014).[
