On Tuesday's show: An Australian gambler known as “The Joker” has confirmed he was behind the plot to engineer a guaranteed Lotto Texas jackpot win in 2023. In his ongoing coverage of this story, Houston Chronicle investigative reporter Eric Dexheimer tells us more about the man and the ring of high-stakes gamblers who pulled off the plot, reportedly with the full support of the Texas Lottery Commission. Also this hour: The next launch window for Artemis II is April 1-6. The mission to send astronauts around the moon and back has been delayed over technical issues found during testing, which remind us of the complicated nature of spaceflight. We discuss aerospace and aviation safety standards with an industry expert. Then, author Mark Stevens talks about his new memoir, The Last Club Kid, which recalls how Houston's nightlife once offered refuge, freedom, and community for a generation during the height of the AIDS epidemic. And, on this St. Patrick's Day, we learn about Irish Americans, immigrants, and ex-pats who gather at Houston-area parks to play traditional Gaelic football, which combines elements of soccer and rugby, among other sports.Watch
Eric Richins suspected something was wrong. His friends knew the marriage was in trouble. His sister hired a private investigator. He'd already met quietly with a divorce attorney. And he still ended up dead. This Hidden Killers Week In Review pulls back from the courtroom to examine what this case forces us to reckon with—and breaks down the document that may decide it.Defense attorney Bob Motta and former FBI behavioral analyst Robin Dreeke go at the bigger picture. What does a case like this tell us about how alleged domestic poisonings operate—and why they're almost invisible until they're already done? What separates a financial motive from just a circumstance, and how much weight should a jury actually give debt and insurance in a murder case? If Kouri Richins is acquitted, what does that verdict tell us about the evidentiary bar for this entire category of crime? Then Tony Brueski takes the Walk the Dog letter apart page by page. The six-page jailhouse document deserves more than headlines—it deserves explanation. What is each scheme designed to accomplish? How is the witness narrative for Ronney constructed? Why does the airport drug story function as a pre-built defense mechanism rather than a memory? The GMA coordination reads like stage directions. The Lotto section shows what's being suppressed. The Katie section reveals what's being requested—and how casually. And the Crest whitening strips request tells you more about state of mind than almost anything else in the letter. The question that cuts deepest: is the case the public has followed for three years the same case the jury is actually being asked to decide? Two experts. No easy answers.Kouri Richins has pleaded not guilty.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The Walk the Dog letter has been in headlines. But headlines don't explain it. This Hidden Killers Week In Review takes the full six-page jailhouse letter written by Kouri Richins and breaks it down the way it deserves—not as shocking bullet points, but as a document that prosecutors intend to use as evidence of consciousness of guilt.Tony Brueski explains exactly how the witness narrative is constructed. The level of scripted detail for Ronney. The instruction to meet in person rather than by phone. The use of legal language followed immediately by "LOL"—and why all of that matters beyond the surface content. The airport drug story functions as a pre-built defense mechanism, not a memory. The GMA coordination reads like stage directions when you say the assigned lines out loud. The Lotto section reveals what's being suppressed and why. The Katie section shows what's actually being requested—and how casually it's framed. The Walk the Dog letter has been in headlines. But headlines don't explain it. This episode does.Tony Brueski at True Crime Today takes the full six-page jailhouse letter written by Kouri Richins and breaks it down the way it deserves to be broken down — not as a collection of shocking bullet points, but as a document. What does each page actually say? What is each scheme actually designed to accomplish? And what does understanding all of it together tell us about how prosecutors intend to use it?Start with Ronney. Tony explains exactly how the witness narrative is constructed in the letter — the level of scripted detail, the instruction to meet in person rather than by phone, the use of legal language followed immediately by "LOL" — and why all of that matters beyond just the surface content. Move to the airport drug story and understand how it functions as a pre-built defense mechanism, not a memory. Follow the GMA coordination through to what it actually looks like when you read the assigned lines out loud. Then understand the Lotto section — what's being suppressed and why. Sit with the Katie section long enough to understand what is actually being requested and how casually it's framed. And close on the Crest whitening strips, which Tony argues tells you more about Kouri Richins' state of mind than almost anything else in the letter. This is the explanation the case deserves. Kouri Richins has pleaded not guilty and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
You've seen the headlines about the Walk the Dog letter. Now hear it actually explained.Six handwritten pages. Written from jail. Titled by Kouri Richins herself as a destruction instruction — take vague notes, then walk the dog, meaning memorize it and make it disappear. It didn't disappear. It's state's evidence. And on this episode of Hidden Killers, Tony Brueski goes through it page by page and explains what you're actually looking at.That means breaking down the Ronney narrative — not just that she scripted a witness story, but explaining how specifically she scripted it, what "upon information and belief" means in that context, and why writing "LOL" immediately after using legal framing tells you something important. It means explaining the airport drug narrative and how it functions as a pre-built counter to prosecution evidence. It means walking through the Good Morning America coordination and reading what she actually told specific people to say on national television. It means explaining who Lotto is and what she's trying to erase. It means sitting with the Katie section long enough to understand what she's actually asking someone to do — and how she asks for it. It means explaining the financial pieces on page four and what they suggest about the broader picture. And it means ending on the Crest whitening strips — because Tony explains why that request, at the end of six pages of alleged obstruction, is the detail that arguably tells you the most.Kouri Richins has pleaded not guilty and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. This is the breakdown.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? We've all found ourselves day dreaming about where we'd spend a big Lotto win at one point or another. Realistically, many of us will come into a major windfall - but it's likely to come in the form of a bonus at work, or an inheritance. Is it okay to buy a new car and go on holiday? Or should we invest it all? LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Life in the Peloton is proudly brought to you by MAAP Guys, get yourselves ready, this is a banger of an ep. I got to sit down with the man himself, the Sweendog. The 16 Wheeler. Sweet 16. Harry Sweeny He's one of the strongest riders in the pelo right now. They don't call him ‘The Truck' for nothing. I spoke to Harry in person over in Adelaide at this year's Tour Down Under and picked his brains about everything from his journey into the sport, his transition from Lotto to EF Education Easypost, how his neurodiversity makes him a better bike racer, and heaps more. Harry's a super interesting guy. He's a consummate professional and leaves no stone unturned in his hunt for being the best athlete he can be. Hearing Sweendog talk through how he prepares for every single race, and the level of detail with which he plans every gel, every corner, every meter of road covered really opened my eyes as to how hard he works. Up until this point, Harry's cut his teeth in the bunch riding as a domestique; turning himself inside out for team mates to great success - pulling guys like Ben Healy to monument podiums and the Yellow Jersey at the Tour de France. But, after a conversation with his team boss Jonathan Vaughters, Harry's finding the confidence to ride for himself and show how strong he can be. As JV put it, ‘being 10% more of an arsehole'. Not long after we recorded, Harry's efforts were rewarded with an absolutely stellar podium finish at the Tour Down Under - his first World Tour GC Podium. It's a fantastic result, and - I think - marks a real shift in focus; he knows he's got the engine to go toe-to-toe with the big guys, and now he's proved it out there on the road. I loved chatting to Harry, and I hope you guys enjoy listening to one of the most hard working, enthusiastic pros out there. Prefer to watch along? This episode's up on our YouTube channel too.

Today on The Indo Daily we're bringing you an episode from our sister podcast Money Talks, all about how winning the National Lottery can be life-changing in perhaps unexpected ways... Congratulations, you've won the Lotto. Now, what exactly do you do next? One of the most important things a new winner will do is sit down and speak with a financial planner to guide them through the process – after all, the life they knew is forever changed. One such planner is Eoin McGee, founder of Prosperous Financial Services, who visits the Money Talks studio this week to pull back the curtain on the admin of cashing in a golden ticket, and the perhaps unexpected existential pressures that come with it.
