TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ TASHA SAFARI Tasha Safari - techno DJ and producer originally from Azerbaijan. Based in Berlin. Born in the small city of Ganja, Azerbaijan, Tasha Safari's musical journey began with the rich shades of Azerbaijani culture. Growing up in a nation known for its blend of Eastern and Western influences, she was exposed to a diverse range of sounds from an early age, from traditional Azerbaijani music to psychedelic rock and post-punk, absorbed into the rhythmic beats of folk instruments and the melodies of the mugham. Surrounded from an early age by the pulsating beats and innovative sounds that would soon become her lifelong passion, Tasha Safari showed a natural aptitude for music. Her fascination with electronic instruments and an unquenchable thirst for rhythm and melody led her to tinker with synthesizers and drum machines. Tasha Safari began her DJ career playing hip-hop and mixing it with electronic music. In search of a new sound she constantly experimented with different genres of music. Her sets are characterized by hypnotic, driving rhythms and blending various subgenres of techno, taking listeners on a journey through the full spectrum of electronic soundscapes. Over the years, Tasha performed at many venues in the CIS countries and collaborated with artists from different parts of the globe, further enriching her sound. Her partnerships with musicians, vocalists, and producers from diverse backgrounds not only expanded her musical horizons but also promoted cultural exchange and understanding through music. Latest of those collaborations: Bel Fort & Tasha Safari Disorder EP is coming soon in the beginning of 2024.Nowdays the next step of her music career is moving to Berlin. She already started to work on a new techno project in collaboration with Alessandro Adriani. They are working on new album and plan to focus on live performances. TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ ALESSANDRO ADRIANI Alessandro Adriani is a lot of things – producer, DJ, live performer and label owner of Mannequin Records – but above all he is a tireless music researcher. The Berlin-based Italian goes further than your average “crate digger” in pursuit of information about sounds, styles, artists and record labels, devoting countless hours to unearthing the untold stories behind the music he loves, regardless of when it was made. Adriani's obsession has naturally shaped his other musical endeavors, not least Mannequin Records, the label he established over than a decade ago, voted label of the month by Resident Advisor in 2017. Over the years, the imprint has won praise from buyers and critics alike for its open-minded blend of on-point reissues, archival collections and fresh productions. The intriguing, leftfield mixture of material on offer – think techno, electro, cold wave, industrial, EBM, minimal synth, and more – is naturally a reflection of Adriani's wide-ranging and off-kilter tastes ( as you'd discover if you had a quick flick through his vast and growing record collection ). Adriani is distinctively drawn towards the dark and obscure, and you can hear this approach amongst the long, drawn-out mixes of his similarly eclectic DJ sets. Alessandro has contributed outstanding mixes for Resident Advisor, FACT, Crack Magazine, Bleep, Cxema and Dekmantel. On the festival circuit he's made appearances at Berghain, Tresor, Atonal, Boiler Room, Dekmantel, ADE, Dimensions, Neopop, Positive Education, Signal and more, together with his bi-monthly dates at Berghain and Panorama Bar, a residency he's held from 2016 to 2020. As a producer, Adriani's output naturally draws on these inspirations, but also reflects his obsession with electronic hardware. Under his own name Adriani has built a reputation for delivering heavy, angular and forthright club cuts for such celebrated labels as L.I.E.S. Records, Stroboscopic Artefacts, Jealous God, Pinkman and - of course - Mannequin Records. INTERVIEW > inverted-audio.com/mix/alessandro-adriani We had the rare opportunity to catch up with Italian artist and label boss @alessandro-adriani-mannequinrecords and delve further into his aims and aspirations for Mannequin Records. His mix delivery is unlike anything we've heard from him before and is comprised of edits from his collection of 7''s, resurfaced Italo and minimal synth sounds from the 1980's.

Alessandro Adriani has been championing unusual and unknown synth wave and industrial sounds for a decade now. The Berlin based Italian has done so on his Mannequin Records label as well as on Pinkman and Jealous God and at his bi-monthly party at Säule/Berghain. An inquisitive mind and avid collector whose taste ranges from jazz to Italo to disco, he is a real treasure trove of musical knowledge, as are his DJ sets. There’s a real sense of discovery to the mix he has laid down for us. It’s filled with chilly synths and industrial textures that are sometimes manic and wild, at others stripped back and haunting. There’s also twisted techno and macho disco, all stitched together with a sense of style that manages to sounds as much from the 80s as it does some unknown future. Adriani’s world is a timeless world, then, but one you’ll be compelled to return to over and over again.
