In today's episode, we spoke with David Carbone, MD, PhD. Dr Carbone is a professor of internal medicine at The Ohio State University, co-leader of the Translational Therapeutics Program and director of the Thoracic Oncology Center at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center–James, as well as the Barbara J. Bonner Chair in Lung Cancer Research in Columbus.In our exclusive interview, Dr Carbone discussed the 6-year data from the phase 3 CheckMate 9LA trial (NCT03215706), which not only reaffirmed the durability of benefit with nivolumab (Opdivo) plus ipilimumab (Yervoy) and chemotherapy but also highlighted particularly strong outcomes in historically poor-prognosis subgroups, including patients with PD-L1–negative tumors and those with squamous histology. Carbone also underscored the safety and tolerability of the regimen. Although dual immunotherapy carries higher toxicity than monotherapy, no new safety signals emerged at 6 years. Carbone also addressed the limitations of current biomarkers. Although PD-L1 remains the primary tool guiding immunotherapy decisions, it is an imperfect predictor.

Five years later, Skae has turned that generational insight into a sauce brand that has surpassed $100 million in retail sales, landed in 30,000 stores, and deliberately abandoned traditional advertising in favor of a strategy built on earned media, events, and a single borrowed philosophy from the restaurant: dinner is the show.

Mais on oublie souvent une question toute simple : combien ça consomme, au juste, une conversation avec une IA ? Car derrière Gemini, Mistral, ChatGPT ou Claude, il y a des centres de données géants, des serveurs qui tournent jour et nuit, et une facture énergétique loin d'être virtuelle.Pour mettre des chiffres sur cette réalité, la Fondation Sahar et l'association Trackarbon lancent TrackCarbon, une application disponible dès aujourd'hui sur macOS. Son idée est simple : mesurer, en temps réel, l'empreinte énergétique et carbone de nos échanges avec les IA génératives. Une fois installée, l'application observe la longueur de vos requêtes, celle des réponses, puis estime l'électricité consommée et le CO₂ émis à partir de données scientifiques. Pas d'espionnage pour autant : tout reste stocké en local, sur l'ordinateur. Rien ne quitte la machine.L'interface affiche trois indicateurs très parlants : le nombre de requêtes envoyées, l'énergie utilisée, et l'empreinte carbone correspondante. Et pour rendre ces données concrètes, TrackCarbon traduit tout ça en équivalences du quotidien : nombre de recharges de smartphone, kilomètres parcourus en voiture. De quoi réaliser que chaque prompt a, lui aussi, un coût.Les calculs s'appuient sur des travaux académiques et évoluent en continu, avec des contributions de chercheurs et de la communauté. L'outil est d'ailleurs entièrement open source : le code est publié sur GitHub, consultable et modifiable par tous. Pas question de culpabiliser, assure Gauthier Schweitzer, président de la fondation. L'objectif est d'éclairer, pas de juger. À terme, l'application devrait aussi proposer des analyses par modèle, des outils pour les entreprises, et même recommander l'IA la moins gourmande selon la tâche. Windows et Linux sont déjà prévus. Et ça, c'est un vrai défi de data Pour en parler, j'ai invité Rachel Delacour, une entrepreneure visionnaire et cofondatrice de Sweep, une plateforme Saas qui rassemble – enfin – toutes les données carbone d'une entreprise, de l'extraction des matières premières jusqu'à l'usage final des produits. Sweep, c'est un outil conçu pour que les entreprises disposent d'un vrai reporting carbone et surtout, pour qu'elles passent à l'action.Ce que j'ai aimé dans notre échange :Rachel n'était pas destinée à “faire de l'impact”. Elle venait de la tech, du SaaS, des startups. Puis à 40 ans, la réalité climatique lui tombe dessus — littéralement dans un avion, en lisant les rapport du GIEC.Elle se demande alors comment contribuer. De toutes les voies possibles, elle choisit celle qui lui permet de s'appuyer sur ce qu'elle a appris dans sa vie professionnelle passée et, au vu de l'urgence, d'être la plus rapidement efficace. Ce qu'elle sait faire : monter une entreprise, dans le secteur BtB, en aidant les grands groupes à comprendre leurs données et piloter leurs actions. Mais cette fois-ci, elle le fait au service de la décarbonation des grands groupe.Rachel a une ambition assumée : elle lève 100M€, recrute les meilleurs, et part convaincre les comités exécutifs partout dans le monde. Ca tombe bien, il faut de l'ambition pour réduire les émissions carbone à l'échelle !Elle ne moralise pas avec les entreprises, ne leur parle pas de leur responsabilité et de leur héritage. Elle parle business : réduction des risques, performance, avantage compétitif, ROI. Et ça marche.Un épisode qui rappelle une évidence : sans innovation, sans données, sans outils, la transition restera un slogan. Avec des entrepreneures comme Rachel, elle devient un chantier concret. Et je rajouterais : pour embarquer les entreprises, il faut qu'elles y voient leur intérêt économique et il faut parler leur langage.A l'heure des reculs écologiques, cette discussion nous rappelle que, si le chemin est étroit, il existe encore.
