But few have nailed all three elements quite as well over the last three decades as this week's guest on the show.Blueprint is James Ruskin's label - an absolute foundation of UK techno, and techno generally it should be said, with seminal releases from the likes of DVS1, Mark Broom, Oliver Ho, Sigha, as well as the boss himself. It will soon be celebrating 30 years of releases, which is a pretty incredible achievement. As a producer he's released prolifically outside his own imprint, most notably via an association with Tresor that goes back to the 90s. And as a DJ he's been a key part of the UK scene and beyond for at least that long too.We discuss familiar themes such as the state of the scene today, the comparative challenges of releasing music over a thirty year period, the evolution of his approach to work in the studio, amongst a lot of other stuff besides. This is a great conversation with an absolute key man. TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ PUSHMANN After a decade of incessant and persistent work-in clubs all over Spain, Victor M- -has become one of Spain's top DJs and producers -whose influences have been hip-hop, funk and the house, among other styles. Pushmann, delivers techno for the mind body and soul. PUSHMANN produces a Detroitesque sound with clear and strong influence of European sound, Berlin and Birmingham. Also draw attention to their surgical and haunting melodies, looped and accelerated to paroxysm. Sophisticated bestiality that stuns and spreads like wildfire. As a DJ, this self-confessed lover of vinyl-and three deck performances- enjoys a refined technique after many years of selecting only the best techno, house and ghetto-techno- sessions defined as strong, energetic and vibrant. In this special episode of the Sliding Windows podcast we broadcast live from the annual PowerShell conference PSConfEU that took place in Antwerp in 2024. My guest today is one of the best known celebreties of the PowerShell Universe: Chrissy LeMaire, inventor of the DBATools, Manning book author and Github star - to just give a few examples of her highly acclaimed work. Chrissy comes from a Cajun family in Louisiana (USA), whose French-speaking ancestors still have a special influence on the culture of this region today. Chrissy has lived and worked for many years in Europe now, embracing the the richness of cultures and influences in different countries and regions. A little different from a regular episode, we talk less about a specific area of expertise. Our main topic is Chrissy's career from database expert to book author and social media star and her very special view on the future of IT. Of course, we talk about "artificial" and "human intelligence". Chrissy shares a pivotal moment in her academic journey inspired by a quote from Paul Dressel, catalyzing a transformation in her approach to learning and paving the way for academic excellence. Transitioning to Chrissy's professional narrative, the dialogue navigates towards her engagement with PowerShell projects like DBA tools underscore her ardor for technology and perpetual learning. Steering towards technology's cutting edge, the dialogue unfolds the speaker's exploits with PowerShell and SQL Server migrations, elucidating the journey of crafting modules and scripts to streamline migration processes. Discussions on Microsoft's support for DBA tools, GitHub collaboration, AI integration with PowerShell, and the exploitation of AI engines like GitHub Copilot, underscore the transformative potential of AI in ameliorating workflows and augmenting productivity. Alongside nuanced reflections on Cajun heritage and language intricacies from Louisiana, theepisode culminates in a jovial French language quiz and a toast with craft beer, emblematic of shared ardor for technology, culture, and the enriching exchange encapsulated throughout the conversation. Thanks to Geoffroy Dubreuil and James Ruskin for their support with the Monad Manifesto quiz.
Celebrating our 600th podcast in proper massive fashion, we're no short of psyched to welcome the man, the legend James Ruskin for a much anticipated two-hour round of implacable warehouse-sized dance floor obliteration. Ever since he first stepped into the scene in 1991, the Croydon-born and based groove doctor has been dishing out some of the most impressively rugged and haunting uptempo material with uncompromising poise and style. From Tresor to his own seminal record label, Blueprint, which still leads the way in terms of both grade A curation and time-transcending impact, Ruskin keeps writing the future of techno with unadulterated spirit, as attested by his RYC transmission, fusing the finest of techno's potential for abstract-leaning sonic exploration and riotous rhythmic firepower. As we inexorably ram in deep into tomorrow's full-fledged dystopia all guns blazing, be sure to turn this on full blast.
Tom, also known as Falling Echoes, has been active in the techno scene for over 10 years In 2019 Tom founded his project Falling Echoes. His debut on Ricardo Garduno's label Illegal Alien Records, followed by several releases on labels like Dynamic Reflection and Edit Select or the legendary Molecular Recordings. Falling Echoes sets can be defined as hypnotic sci-fi axed, driving and dance floor focused, which is also something he aims for in his productions. Played & supported by artists like Ben Sims, Luke slater, James Ruskin, Chris Liebing, Slam, Blawan, Dustin Zahn, Dave Clarke, Developer, Nørbak, Temudo and more. He performed in various club/venues in European cities like Berlin, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Paris or Lisbon to name a few. Falling Echoes is incoming as a new generation of established artist lead by his vision of hypnotic techno! Straight to the dance floor. Irish-born, Manchester-based Kerrie is a multi-disciplinary artist, incorporating live sets, DJing, producing and running her label Dark Machine Funk across her repertoire of work. Having garnered a rich musical education through working at and holding a DJ residency for one of the UK's most respected record shops Eastern Bloc, Kerrie's in-depth knowledge and unwavering dedication to music shines through her notable back catalogue and bolshy, unforgiving DJ and Live sets. Honing her craft for over a decade, Kerrie has played worldwide in celebrated venues such as Tresor, Berghain, fabric, FOLD, Elsewhere NYC and festivals including Freedom Medellin, Freerotation, Drift and Basilar. First learning to mix via her brother's turntables in the early 2000s, it wasn't until 2009 that Kerrie invested in her own set-up and built an extensive record collection, covering everything from ambient, electronic, house, EBM, acid, electro, and her go-to genre, techno. Kerrie delivers tough moods from the turntables, as conveyed in her mixes for Reclaim Your City, Bassiani, SLAM and Crack, where she carefully blended high-energy styles of UK, Detroit, and European techno, many of which stem from the 90s and the 00s. It's frequent to hear Kerrie weave broken elements into her mixes too, chopping up the 4/4 groove at just the right moment to keep things propulsive. Kerrie's Live sets are fast becoming renowned for their trippy motifs and high impact on the dancefloor, applauded by Berlin's long-running club Tresor, where she made several appearances with her Elektron machines. Kerrie's Live set at Freerotation in 2019 was one of the festival's most talked-about debuts, and this year, Kerrie will return to and debut at multiple festivals and clubs across Europe and the Americas. Following well-received releases on labels such as Don't Be Afraid, Cultivated Electronics, I Love Acid and Symbolism, Kerrie launched her imprint Dark Machine Funk [DMF] in 2020. The label homes her distinctly raw aesthetic and honours her love for dark, gritty, metallic and industrial sounds melded with elements of funk, heavily influenced by second-wave Detroit artists, UK techno and music by some of her favourite artists; James Ruskin, Blawan and Surgeon. Kerrie's first release on DMF, "Inner Space PT1", was praised by Resident Advisor, who credited her ability to make "lean, fierce techno that knows how to groove." 2022 was a watershed year for Kerrie's productions. She debuted on the monumental UK techno label Blueprint with her EP "Raw Regimen", which landed acclaimed reviews. Truly welcomed to the Blueprint family, Kerrie will share her second EP on the label in May 2023 and join the crew at Blueprint showcases around the globe. This year marks the release of Kerrie's 10th EP on vinyl, and considering her consistent output on DMF, Blueprint and many more labels, the producer shows no sign of slowing down. Coming to international prominence in more recent years, regardless of her decade-long tenure in Manchester's vibrant scene, Kerrie is deeply invested in the culture of electronic music, starting from her teenage era as a raver in Ireland up to her innovative projects today. In 2017, she founded Eastern Bloc's in-house event space to nurture local talent, which remains at the heart of Manchester's music community. Kerrie is forging a long-lasting path fuelled by drive, passion, authenticity and a community-first way of thinking.

Today's premiere see's Mexican based techno producer Fixon supply a rolling techno groove that lies in the perfect middle ground of stomping and jackin' as he features on Volster's ‘Secession' imprint. Fixon is leading the way in a new generation of Mexican produces that are showcasing a unique blend of hypnotic elements and slamming rhythms. Having released on Mord, Illegal Alien, Be As One Imprint and his own imprint ANAØH. Starting ANAØH 7 years ago Fixon has gone on to bring the label to the forefront of techno labels, recently releasing music from Ben Sims, James Ruskin, DJ Shufflemaster, Mark Broom, The Advent and more. Fixon's debut on Volster‘s Secession Records imprint see's the producer focus on slamming off-kilter low-end rhythms while honing in on defined polyrhythmic sequences and quivering percussive grooves. Large atmospheric swells and jackin' one shot vocal hits make for an intense yet fun-loving trip through banging funk. SHDW & Obscure Shape return to their label From Another Mind with their six-track ‘Vergessene Welt' EP, signalling the first material on the imprint for 18 months. Today we premiere ‘Der Urknall' a gnarly piece of hardware heaven as the duo showcase a rough edged side to their production style. Founded in 2015, the launch of SHDW and Obscure Shape's label From Another Mind saw the Stuttgart-based DJ/producers establish themselves via a wealth of self-released material while welcoming a long list of high-profile remixers, including Rødhåd, James Ruskin and Dax J. However, the pair's evolution saw new ventures explored and attention focused wider afield with the launch of their second label Mutual Rytm in 2022. Utilising their A&R skills, the label has seen the duo curate and invite a selection of up-and-coming and established names while also delivering their first EP on the label in Summer, ‘Poetic Justice'. Exploring the techno sounds of tomorrow while drawing on influences of the past, the label quickly turned heads and has become a go-to for many. Following a brief hiatus, the attention is now turned back towards From Another Mind as the pair explore their origins and the signature FAM sound once again, opening the New Year with six fresh productions across their ‘Vergessene Welt' EP. ‘Der Urknall' see's the Stuttgart duo flaunt their rugged style of techno that is straight forward, nasty and simply does not fuck around. Growling dub shaped stabs take front seat while pounding low end power pummels through in a rather cut throat and relentless manner. Top it off with punishing ride symbols, drunkenly delayed claps and sci-fi styled zaps to make a minimalistic groove that is filthy in the most satisfactory way. For our first premiere of the week, we present a track from one of Ireland's leading and hardest working producers, Doug Cooney. The RLSD boss man is no stranger to knocking out prime techno cuts, and ‘Covalent' is no exception, as Doug channels classic dub techno auras with definitive 909 grooves. Doug Cooney lives and breathes techno within every facet of his life and has dedicated many years to the genres growth and wellbeing in Ireland. From setting up one of Ireland's best techno labels RLSD, to teaching in Bray Institute Of Further Education, alongside teaching his RLSD classes, to churning out proper techno 12 inches, there's few Irish DJs and producers that come close to Doug Cooney in terms of impact on the Irish techno scene. Doug Cooney also boast's being one of the most technically gifted DJs on the isle of Ireland. Meticulous attention to detail behind a set of turntables has seen Cooney share the booth with formidable techno figures such as Dave Clarke, James Ruskin, UVB, Mark Broom and more. Doug has a number of distinguished international gigs under his belt, with a debut at the fabled Tresor in Berlin, being the highlight. In recent years Doug has been burning the midnight oil in the studio, crafting high octane and distinctly function techno tracks. Cooney has recently signed records with respected labels such as Orbis, GND, Gynoid, EFR, Bastardo Electrico, N&N Records, Research & Orgone, alongside RLSD Records his own imprint laying a strong foundation for his future in music. His productions have received support from Dave Clarke, Amelie Lens, Ben Sims, Luke Slater, Rodhad, KR!Z, and Answer Code Request. Doug's tracks have also been been remixed by Aiken, Binny, Lee Holman and Dystopian records Jon Hester, proving his calibre in the international arena. For Doug's next release he features on a colossal VA from Dutch techno connoisseurs, Frenzy. Frenzy welcomes the first Various Artist release on their newborn label, Frenzy Recordings. The VA contains 12 tracks handcrafted by 13 artists, both renowned and upcoming. Frenzy focuses on presenting the modern-day sound with roots of the old school, and that is exactly what this Various Artists stands for. Doug's contribution to the debut VA from Frenzy is an infectious dub influenced techno roller. Like many of Doug's great tracks, it's minimal, funky and effective, breathing the essence of techno. As the loop progresses it becomes more and more infectious. The finer details in the atmosphere and carefully orchestrated switches make this track so special. One of Doug's finest pieces of work in my humble opinion. Favourites for many within today's modern techno landscape, Stuttgart based pairing Marco Blasi and Luigi Urban, aka SHDW & Obscure Shape, continue to grow their profile and position as artists leading the current new wave of techno. Opening the imprint in style, the label bosses head up the first-ever release and the first V/A' Federation Of Rytm I' as they welcome a selection of new and established talent. “Since the beginning of the global pandemic, we have been diving deep into the roots of our music and working on the aesthetics of our sound. That's when we realised that now is the right time to start a new project which differs from FAM, in both musical and artistic direction. The project will showcase a new dimension that aims to channel the authentic perspectives of both established and up-and-coming talents. With our new label, we want to give all artists the opportunity of musical freedom and expression of their versatility as producers. It is an honour to accompany the young artists on their careers, to see them grow and to help them in their development as musicians.” – SHDW & Obscure Shape. TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ ALIENATA Spanish-born, Berlin-based Alienata is a self-described sound obsessive whose sets span obscure electro, ACID, dub, IDM, dark disco, jakbeat, hypnotic techno, industrial atmospheres, break beats, cosmic jazz , UK electro, Detroit, Chicago influences and crazy sounds in general. A former philosophy student with a particular interest in mysticism, Alienata began DJing in 2004. She has played at many festivals and clubs such as Krake Festival, Panorama Bar, Suicide Club, Corsica Studios, ADE and Fabric. When behind the decks, Alienata is closely attuned to both internal and external influences, and is unconcerned with providing listeners with an outstanding and energetic experience. It is not strange that legends like Dave Clarke ( who recently played a B2B in ADE ) DJ Stingray, Ben Sims or Ron Morelli have expressed all their support and respect for her. With all that knowledge behind and a true love for music she decided to start her own imprint “Discos Atónicos” in 2017 where she can materialize all its varied influences, counting on legendary artists like Beta Evers, Dez Williams, Artificiero, BS-1 or Cosmic Force. While primarily focusing on DJing, Alienata has released a few different records & remixes in recent years with collaborations with Snuffo of the jacking Snuff Crew & Sync24 -CEO of the legendary UK electro imprint Cultivated Electronics- Her most recent contribution has been to the great Ben Sims ‘Tribology' Compilation, together with artists of the size of Robert Hood, James Ruskin or Mark Broom. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Biography Javier, a boy born in Toledo, has his first contact with electronic music with only 16 years attending as a public the mythical Family Club room (Toledo), from the first day he stepped into that club he knew that his life was going to turn around Techno and soon he got his first mixer and the first Technics to make his first mixes by going to the record stores in Madrid to spend part of the monthly salary he received. Since its inception he has never liked labels when it comes to playing for which his sets of that time could surprise you from the purest Techno to what at that time did not even have a name and in the future he will be called as Schranz . Thanks to his versatility to the dishes, the artist who at that time was called Dejota Keny for the roughest sounds and Kenyata when he saw it as more advisable to lower the BPM's, soon began to be demanded by both the clubs in the central area of Spain. like to play in the wildest free parties that were held. While Kenyata got to play in places like Family Club (Toledo), Penelope (Madrid), Pirandello (Madrid), Taboo (Madrid) or Aqua (Toledo) to name a few and sharing a line up with renowned artists such as Richie Hawtin, James Holdem , Kevin Saunderson, Ben Sims, James Ruskin, Mark Broom, Oscar Mulero, Cristian Varela and a long etc ... Dejota Keny formed 2 of the most famous groups in Madrid, called Trauma and Aki no hay Playa and holding free parties attended by more than 2,000 displaced people from all over the country and hiring international artists of the toughest genres in the world. electronic scene like Schranz, Hardtek or Tekno like Dj Hammond, Acid Flux or Lexis for example. About 2010, being in his best moment of his career, he decided to join with his best friend and form the duo called Move It, this time lowering the BPM's to the rhythm of the Tech House and what began as a simple B2B was drifting with the passage of the time in something more serious becoming a hybrid between Live and Dj set where they began to mix sounds more Deep, Tech, Minimal or techno turning them into a box of surprises every time they both stepped on a booth adapting like chameleons to the situation or club where they were . That great time lasted 7 years and made them play in major events such as Reverse (Madrid), Replay (Madrid), Magnum Night (Madrid), Suara Night (Madrid) and clubs such as Family Club (Toledo), Sankeys (Ibiza), Privilege (Ibiza), La Riviera (Madrid), Groove (Madrid), Studio 76 (Madrid), Fever (Bilbao) and many more, getting to warm up great artists such as Carl Cox, Technasia, Art Department, Karotte, Uner , Coyu or Ramiro Lopez to name a few and they came to edit music together on labels such as El Row, Pornographic, 808 Recordings or Techaway Records. In 2017 they decided to take different paths and put an end to Move It and that is when J.Moreno was born, leaving aside the ceiling and returning to focus on harder and darker sounds, returning a little to their roots but this time with more nuances. melodic and not so high from bpm's. This project for personal reasons does not last more than a year, but even so he manages to play again at Family Club (Toledo), Studio 76 (Madrid), Sala Even (Seville) and even on the 15th anniversary of Fabrik (Madrid), playing It is one of his tents with his friend Backsy, which was crowded making it the most memorable day of his entire career. A few months after that great event, he decides to move away from the scene a bit in order to focus more on him and his loved ones. After a long break of a year, in 2019 he begins to realize that his life without music is not a complete life with what he begins to experiment in the studio and pointing to music theory academies to start shaping what he is today Today's sound, a Techno sound with melodic nuances full of synthesizers that transport you to another world during every minute of each track. After a year of learning and several trial and error projects, at the beginning of 2020 he feels confident enough to unveil what is his most personal project to date, Erlyk. After signing his first Ep for Over Records, his intention was to start closing dates to publicize his new project, with several dates closed throughout the year his desire was frustrated by Covid 19, leaving no other to continue molding in studying that sound that characterizes you so much and preparing for all this improves being at your best and being able to demonstrate to the world your maturity and well-doing. Even with the year so bad that everyone had managed to edit in addition to Over Records, Green Kiwi Records a remix and an Ep. This 2021 he started editing an Ep in Addeepted, the label of the great Gaston Zani and starting a new learning project with MBA (Music Business Academy) where they will teach him to take his professional career to another level by learning the ins and outs of this great industry of the most professional and trained in the sector. #soberbius #itunes #soundcloud #ivoox #tunein #mixcloud #playerfm #googlepodcast #deezer #creatingculture #tellingstories #anotherconcept #letyourselfgo #podcast #electronicmusic #house #techhouse #progressivehouse #melodictechno #indiedance #nudisco #italodisco #techno #deep #dj #producer #culturemusic

April's episode on the MindTrip Podcast welcomes Los Angeles techno flag-bearer David Flores aka Truncate. David was introduced to the electronic music world at a very young age, DJing across Southern California. His producer career started a few years later with his first records under his David F and Audio Injection monikers on labels like Monoid, Stimulus, 4 Track & LA label Droid Recordings while in 2011 he launched his own imprint, also named Truncate. Since then, he had countless EPs and singles on platforms like Token, Hotflush Recordings and Blue Hour. His latest works are two collaborations: HYD, with Dotdat on Truncate Records, and an upcoming shared work with James Ruskin on Blueprint. His sound moves around deep, raw and jackin' techno and that's exactly what you are about to enjoy on this exclusive 60 minutes mix featuring a great surprise on the closing with a smooth jazzy track from 1991.
