The Basement Boys return, and move further into the realm of all-things entertainment, with their latest interview... one steeped in the subject of science fiction. Jay speaks with Tennessee physicist Leah Broussard, who is preparing to open a doorway into a parallel -- or mirror -- universe. How? Why? What secrets does she hope to unlock? These are the questions Jay asks, and Leah answers. And yes: some Stranger Things references are made. Leah is one of us, and this is a fun, informative and entertaining conversation. It's also a sign of the times in The Basement, as we move away from -- but not completely out of -- the realm of movies and into the world of anything entertaining, and all the topics it offers up for discussion. But fear not, Jason and Shawn do talk movies, Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and the new Zombieland trailer, to be specific. Plus Jay reviews Crawl and Shawn finally saw the end of Point Blank. There's also a discussion about back-to-back Halloween sequels. Throw in this morning's segment from the mighty Radio NL 610 AM Morning Show -- including its chickless fopaux -- and you've got yourself a podcast. One ripe for your ear holes, right now! We'll be back in two weeks. Until then, stick with us!
What, you ask, do a couple of guys who review movies know about mead? And, while on the subject, what qualifies them to review said mead on their show... which is supposed to be about movies and all things entertainment? Well, mead is a drink, and drinks are an important part of many entertainment events, so put that in your pipe and smoke it! Jason and Shawn do indeed talk mead -- an alcoholic beverage derived from honey -- and they do provide their two cents on some local brew, as per the request of the brewer. How do the Basement Boys do on their first alcohol review? Stick with us! But the Dynamic Duo ARE movie and entertainment guys, so they weigh in on the Sean Connery classic The Presidio, and the trailer for Rian Johnson's upcoming mystery flick Knives Out starring current Bond, Daniel Craig. There's also a sad lament on the passing of Mad Magazine. Plus, our resident twit Mike S returns with a review of a not-so-classic horror movie. Neat, no? Throw in this morning's segment from the mighty Radio NL 610 AM Morning Show and you've got the latest extended cut podcast... From The Basement!
