¿Quieres ayudarnos a seguir mejorando y creciendo? Depicting a vision for what this world could be, this Psalm, set to the Scottish tune ‘Lovely Molly,' imagines love and mercy (or truth or faithfulness, in other translations), justice and peace coming together to greet and kiss. This rendition of the Psalm continues to unfold that vision of the future as one in which God's goodness and kindness are evident, healing takes place, and the people will sing. You can find lyrics, scores/books, mp3s, CDs for Love and Mercy on the Celtic Psalms webpage (www.celticpsalms.com)Listen to Kiran and Celtic Psalms on TEDxThe journal is available in paperback format on Amazon! Here's the link to the paperback journal (available globally), and if you would be so kind as to leave a review on the Amazon platform in your region, that will help other readers find it! We're joined once more by filmmakers Gregg Hale and Eduardo Sanchez, the brains behind The Blair Witch Project, V/H/S, Lovely Molly, and many more.Gregg and Hale talk to us about their new podcast-based audio drama Black Velvet Fairies. It's a tour de force meta narrative that plays with the found footage medium that gave them their big break, but also features real-world interviews with paranormal experts, dissections of EVP phenomena, and a descent into family history that reveals dark creatures and ancient secrets waiting to be let into the light. We also discuss where BVF sits in the wider dark fantasy universe they're creating, known as Emerald Anvil, set in the world of Hada. This is a multimedia beast, featuring novels, board games, podcasts, and online interactions. The world was born out of Gregg and Ed's passion for storytelling, but also their frustration at the Hollywood studio system, which is becoming more innovative in terms of visual effects, but also more risk-averse and conservative. Lastly, we discuss the pair's plans for the 25th Anniversary of The Blair With Project, still one of the most innovative and disruptive horror films of all time, and which has spawned a lucrative franchise of its own.You can listen to Black Velvet Fairies from all your favourite podcast provides, and if you want to support Ed and Gregg in the construction of their Emerald Anvil universe, you can do at https://emeraldanvil.com/

This week, I invited author, writer, and director, Jamie Nash on the show to discuss his ‘Save The Cats Writes for TV' formula in his new book, Save the Cat!® Writes for TV: The Last Book on Creating Binge-Worthy Content You'll Ever Need.Jamie is a horror and children's film screenwriter with fifteen years of experience writing projects for  Nickelodeon, Liongate, Discovery, Amazon Prime, Netflix, etc, and also teaches screenwriting to college students. Some of his most notable horror credits include V/H/S/2, Lovely Molly, and Seventh Moon, A Comedy of Horrors, and Two Front Teeth. And others like Adventures of a Teenage Dragon Slayer, Tiny Christmas, etc.Screenwriting, for Jamie, was a side project he pursued at leisure when he wasn't working his Computer gaming/programming job. It wasn't until early 2004 that he sold his first script, a horror feature titled, Altered, to Haxan Films that was later directed in 2006 by one of the Blair Witch Project directors, Eduardo Sánchez. The story premised on a group of men whose lives were forever changed by a strange occurrence who, fifteen years later Now, will spend a night together ... in terror. With some financial success and notoriety from Altered, Jamie quit his computer consultant job with Citigroup and went full-time on screenwriting in 2008. Jamie is one of those writers who stay busy. He writes about five to six scripts a year for pilots, TV shows, podcasts, novels, etc. This justifies why he has a Writers Guild. It takes a lot of brainpower to create multiple plots that are so different in many ways within a short period of time. An example is his 2017 screenplays, The Night Watchman and Tiny Christmas. Two very distinct writing and audiences. He co-wrote The Night Watchman with Ken Arnold and Dan DeLuca. It is basically a story of three inept night watchmen, aided by a young rookie and a fearless tabloid journalist, fight an epic battle for their lives against a horde of hungry vampires.Tiny Christmas on the other hand is about a girl and her quirky cousin who are accidentally zapped by a shrinking ray at the hands of one of Santa's inept elves on Christmas Eve and they must learn to trust and appreciate each other and work as a team to get back home before Christmas, or risk staying tiny forever.[presto_player id=41043]On March 30th, 2021, he released his third book, Save the Cat!® Writes for TV in which he shares the essence of writing pilots as pitches for screenwriters considering television because more than 80% of jobs in the Writers Guild of America are skewed towards the television.Nash takes up Snyder's torch to lay out a step-by-step approach using Blake's principles for both new and experienced writers, including:-How to write and structure a compelling TV pilot that can launch both your series and your TV writing career-All the nuances, tricks, and techniques of pilot-writing: the Opening Pitch, the Guided Tour, the Whiff of Change, and more-The 8 Save the Cat! TV Franchise Types that will improve your story and your pitch-The not-so-secret TV Pitch Template that turns your TV series into the necessary read-over-lunch industry document-a how-to in creating layered characters who are driven by complex internal struggles-Beat sheets of the pilots of Barry, Ozark, Grey's Anatomy, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, What We Do in the Shadows, Black-ish, The Mandalorian, This Is Us, Law, and Order: SVU, and more to help you crack your storyCreate your binge-worthy TV series with Save the Cat! Writes for TV We talked some more about his own indie film hustle journey--working overtime to get a headstart in the industry, we also talked about his networking technique that keeps him booked and busy. I could talk another hour more with Jamie. He is so candid about his process and the drive behind it.Enjoy this conversation with Jamie Nash.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/indie-film-hustle-a-filmmaking-podcast--2664729/support.

Sam Lee is much more than a musician - he's a storyteller. In "Blackbird," from his album The Fade In Time, his deep croons and intricate vocals breathe life into forgotten stories, drawing you into a colorful and heart-wrenching world. The album title is appropriate, since he collects traditional English songs and repurposes them for a new place and time.  Not many traditional English folk singers came from North London, studied at Chelsea School of Art and worked as a forager and wilderness expert during the day and burlesque dancer by night. Lee however is not in the majority - his charisma and talents spurred an apprenticeship with the great Scottish Traveller singer Stanley Robertson along with a Mercury Prize nomination. Lee has blazed a trail for burgeoning song collectors and inspired a new generation to tap into the storytelling of present and past minstrels. He performs in-studio in this 2015 session from the Archives.  Setlist "Over Yonder's Hill" "Blackbird" "Lovely Molly"

This week, I invited author, writer, and director, Jamie Nash on the show to discuss his ‘Save The Cats Writes for TV’ formula in his new book, Save the Cat!® Writes for TV: The Last Book on Creating Binge-Worthy Content You'll Ever Need.Jamie is a horror and children’s film screenwriter with fifteen years of experience writing projects for  Nickelodeon, Liongate, Discovery, Amazon Prime, Netflix, etc, and also teaches screenwriting to college students. Some of his most notable horror credits include V/H/S/2, Lovely Molly, and Seventh Moon, A Comedy of Horrors, and Two Front Teeth. And others like Adventures of a Teenage Dragon Slayer, Tiny Christmas, etc.Screenwriting, for Jamie, was a side project he pursued at leisure when he wasn’t working his Computer gaming/programming job. It wasn’t until early 2004 that he sold his first script, a horror feature titled, Altered, to Haxan Films that was later directed in 2006 by one of the Blair Witch Project directors, Eduardo Sánchez. The story premised on a group of men whose lives were forever changed by a strange occurrence who, fifteen years later Now, will spend a night together ... in terror. With some financial success and notoriety from Altered, Jamie quit his computer consultant job with Citigroup and went full-time on screenwriting in 2008.Jamie is one of those writers who stay busy. It is basically a story of three inept night watchmen, aided by a young rookie and a fearless tabloid journalist, fight an epic battle for their lives against a horde of hungry vampires.Tiny Christmas on the other hand is about a girl and her quirky cousin who are accidentally zapped by a shrinking ray at the hands of one of Santa’s inept elves on Christmas Eve and they must learn to trust and appreciate each other and work as a team to get back home before Christmas, or risk staying tiny forever. On March 30th, 2021, he released his third book, Save the Cat!® Writes for TV in which he shares the essence of writing pilots as pitches for screenwriters considering television because more than 80% of jobs in the Writers Guild of America are skewed towards the television.Nash takes up Snyder's torch to lay out a step-by-step approach using Blake's principles for both new and experienced writers, including:-How to write and structure a compelling TV pilot that can launch both your series and your TV writing career-All the nuances, tricks, and techniques of pilot-writing: the Opening Pitch, the Guided Tour, the Whiff of Change, and more-The 8 Save the Cat! He is so candid about his process and the drive behind it.Enjoy this conversation with Jamie Nash.

Turn up the volume and lean in close. Here we go... News Features The Box is coming back again, shiny and new. A Hellraiser project is officially in the works with “The Dark Knight" writer David S. Goyer on the case. Being revived through Gary Barber’s Spyglass Media Group. Barber described the project as a “loyal, yet evolved reimagining of the 1987 original featuring the Cenobite called Pinhead and the resurrection of Frank who opened the box with painful consequences. After nine other movies plus numerous graphic novels, it will be interesting to see how things will start over again. We’ll be watching for more details as they form. https://variety.com/2019/film/news/clive-barker-hellraiser-spyglass-david-goyer-1203205895/ Timely news since we just watched and discussed “The Invisible Man” from 1934 in our last podcast. Talkiesnetwork.com reports that Storm Reid will officially by join Elisabeth Moss as a co-star in the remake of “The Invisible Man” in the works. Director Leigh Whannell (Upgrade) will be weaving a tale centered on Moss’s Celia who, after hearing about the news of her abusive ex-boyfriend’s suicide, attempts to rebuild her life for the better. But she begins to suspect he’s not really dead. Maybe he’s just… Invisible. We can’t wait to see how it compares to the original, but that’s all we know for now. https://talkiesnetwork.com/2019/05/10/a-wrinkle-in-time-star-storm-reid-joins-elisabeth-moss-in-the-invisible-man-remake/ Putting the grim back in the Brothers Grimm, a new translation of the classic fairy tales restores the glorious blood and horror of the originals. Never before published in English, the first edition of the tales from 1812 reveals an unsanitized version with princes impregnating, not just rescuing, their damsels, parents trying to murder and/or eat their children, and children killing each other. Such as in the charming tale “How the Children Played at Slaughtering” along with 155 other stories, with many illustrations. Full of murder, suicide, crime, mutilations, monsters, assault, and chaos, these might not be the best bedtime stories for the kids, but it sounds like just the thing for adult horror fans and folks to want to hear some storytelling from over 200 years ago. It’s available on Amazon in ebook, hardcover, paperback, and audiobook formats, and we’ve included a link in the show notes. As well as a link to coverage in The Guardian with more book details. https://www.theguardian.com/books/2014/nov/12/grimm-brothers-fairytales-horror-new-translation Amazon Link The Dawn of a New Era has begun in the text-based zombie apocalypse game Zapoco. Episode 49 - Happily Ever Afterlife It's wedding season for The Buzzed Kill Podcast. Between the three of us, we have thirteen weddings to go to this summer. It's beautiful and we are so happy for all of our friends who are taking the plunge, then jetting off to enjoy some time in paradise, but we are also realistic. Things change after you get married. You start to discover new things about your partner that maybe you weren't expecting. Like maybe they always leave dirty dishes in the sink, or never close the door when they go to the bathroom. Maybe they sleepwalk, or will murder you the first chance they get. Sometimes the married life can be hell.... literally. So this week as a reminder to our friends that the honeymoon doesn't last forever, we grabbed some Blue Moon Summer Honey Wheat, "HoneyMoon", and discussed a few films with newlyweds getting a hard lesson in what marriage is all about. This week on Scream Addicts, Jinx welcomes Jamie Nash to the show.  A writer known for his work on such films as Exists, Lovely Molly, Altered, and V/H/S/2,  Mr. Nash has chosen Sam Raimi’s underrated 2009 horror comedy Drag Me to Hell for discussion this week. A critical and commercial success upon its initial release, Drag inspires a talk which looks at the film’s current status as a neglected gem, its ranking in Raimi’s horror oeuvre, whether or not the film’s lead is its hero or villain, and why Octavia Spencer should be in every horror film. It’s one helluva chat with a great guest, and it’s one we hope you enjoy! Drag Me to Hell (Blu-ray) Altered Exists Lovely Molly V/H/S/2

So, what scares you?  Really.  What takes you out of your “horror comfort zone?”  In this episode I talk about my own horror triggers.  I don’t rationally believe these things exist. But, somewhere deep inside me…  Triggers often come from events that happen to us as children, and my trigger is no exception.  I talk about some of the movies that REALLY scared me on a primal level, and then talk about my past to figure out where those triggers come from. Welcome the newest episode of Dark Discussions, your place for the discussion of horror film, fiction, and all that’s fantastic. Ed Sanchez, one of the co-director's of The Blair Witch Project, has been quite prolific since that ridiculously huge indy hit. Though he hasn't gotten a wide release of his films since, he has directed a number of gems including Altered, Lovely Molly (which Dark Discussions states was the second best film of 2012), and a segment of V/H/S 2. Each was either written or co-written by Jamie Nash. As with Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett or Jim Mickle and Nick Damici, the two seem to be a pretty dang good team. Their new film, 2014's Exists, is actually the third film this year about a sasquatch, or better known as Bigfoot. Shot in the found footage style, the film is about a group of five young adults that head out in that oh so common cabin in the woods for fun and sun. But one of them brought a bunch of cameras along since the area of Texas they are in is known as a sighting of the mysterious and legendary monster. With a quick setup, a short intro, and some spooky music by composer Nima Fakhrara, the film becomes a nonstop ride that doesn't let up until the very end. Dark Discussions is joined by Kristi Petersen Schoonover, author of Bad Apple and Skeletons in the Swimmin' Hole, to discuss this new film by the duo. Is it better than the prior two Bigfoot films from this year? Is it more than that and actually a top genre/horror film of the year? Your co-hosts discuss the movie and where it stands up against other Bigfoot films as well as genre cinema as a whole. Welcome the newest episode of Dark Discussions, your place for the discussion of horror film, fiction, and all that’s fantastic. Dark Discussions puts together their 2012 genre/horror year in review episode. A little later than other sites but never too late. We have our three lists and then a fourth combined list of our best horror films of the prior year. Discussions abound about what a horror film is and what year it should be considered. We choose to have a less narrow approach where thrillers and science fiction may be also horror. Also if a film was released in 2012 to a wide audience even if it was a foreign film or a festival circuit film a prior year, we consider it. Twenty-eight distinct films was the total number of “horror” films that your hosts paired down to. They include Sinister, The Cabin in the Woods, Lovely Molly, The Loved Ones, We Need To Talk About Kevin, The Bay, Take Shelter, The Possession, Rabies, Sleeping Beauty, Absentia, Devil’s Rock, El Monstro Del Mar, Rec3, Juan of the Dea, The Woman in Black, Kill List, Megan is Missing, Chained, The Revenant, The Skin I Live In, Mother’s Day, Midnight Son, The Tall Man, Sleep Tight, The Divide, The Woman, and Excision. For other genre films listed include Snow White and the Huntsman, John Carter, The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers, Chronicle, Twilight – A New Dawn Part 2, The Gray, and The Disco Exorcist. Once more, our list is as subjective as anyone else’s yet we try to be as objective as we could. Some films we missed, some we hit, but either way, the list of genre films has a taste for any horror fan and definitely should be maybe a starting point for hunting down some of the best chills and thrills from the year 2012. Welcome the newest episode of Dark Discussions, your place for the discussion of horror film, fiction, and all that’s fantastic. Dark Discussions brings their view on the rest of the genre films coming out in 2013. In Episode 084, we discussed the films expected in the first half of the year. This time the months of July through December are focused upon (with a few exceptions). One of the bigger releases includes Guillermo Del Toro’s giant monster movie Pacific Rim. Other films are the Marvel film Wolverine, Vin Diesel’s Riddick, Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game. Big spectacle films include Matt Damon’s aptly titled Elysium, Naomi Watts’ The Impossible, George Clooney’s Gravity, Gore Verbinski’s Lone Ranger, and Peter Jackson’s second Hobbit film. But there’s more, including horror films such as James Wan’s The Conjuring, Adam Wingard’s You’re Next, Oliver Blackburn’s Satanic, the Soska sister’s Lovely Molly, and Danielle Harris’s Among Friends are all coming. All are coming! But there is even more films than that including Rob Zombie’s Lords of Salem, Neil Marshall’s The Voyage of the Demeter, Halle Berry’s The Call, Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg’s The World’s End, Elijah Wood’s Maniac, Joe Hill’s Horns, and Dario Argento’s Dracula 3D. There is even more than that including foreign highlights as Thale, Livid, and Akira. Dark Discussions gives their take on all these and more. Welcome to Dark Discussions podcast. Your place for the discussion of horror film, fiction, and all that's fantastic. Ambiguity. Some films have meaning in their stories that are much harder to ascertain. Hidden connotations, symbolism, and interpretation are part of what make the story unique. Lovely Molly, a 2012 film by director Ed Sanchez, is specifically that. Sanchez, best known as one of the co-directors of the Blair Witch Project, has made a new genre film that specifically leaves the viewer asking questions as they are engulfed in a tale of horrific gloom. Molly, recently married, lives in her childhood home with her husband Tim. She and her sister Hannah it seems may have not had as tranquil an upbringing as the house's charm would present. As Tim is on long journeys for work, mysterious sounds and smells begin to haunt the house and follow Molly to her work. As her younger years begin to catch up with her, Molly starts to digress into a state that may be leading into insanity. Or possibly an evil that may be older than the house itself. Lovely Molly is another triumphant return for Ed Sanchez. Dark, gloomy with a feel that reminds folks of some of the darker dramas of the past, Lovely Molly is part of a new wave of films that has the gritty feel of the 1970's drama. With its murky and sinister tale of a downhearted woman trying to fight against both the demons of her past as well as the unfairness of everyday life, the film brings about some of the best chills in years with one of the most remarkably effective reveals in modern cinema. Dark Discussions reviews the film and discusses some of the most indistinct parts of the unsettling story.
