His initial interest in Bigfoot began when he was 12 when he checked out a book from the library on the subject. But all that was put on the back burner for years until the interest was resurrected with the cable TV shows popping up about 15 or so years ago.He thought the shows were interesting, and did a little research on the subject at that time which led him to the BFRO website and database. With Missouri being listed a number of times, his interest peaked some more. But it wasn't until 2019 when he discovered a track way of footprints about 20 miles from his home in Cape Girardeau. Don Niesen has lived in Central Wisconsin for about 25 years now. He describes Central Wisconsin as being a totally different world from where he grew up in Racine, Wisconsin. After moving to Central Wisconsin, he's had multiple encounters with various types of wildlife, but none of those encounters moved the needle for Don nearly as much as an encounter he had while he was driving to his parent's house, one evening. As he was driving down a rural section of highway, heading to their house, he was on the lookout for deer. Deer-related car crashes are a big problem in that area. All of a sudden, up ahead, he could see a large, black figure, on the side of the road, pulling at something in the ditch. At first, Don thought it was a bear. Then, it did something no bear could do and at that moment, Don's jaw dropped. Heads up, everyone — over the coming weeks I'll be releasing a special Wednesday series centered on the South Mountain region of North Carolina. Jerry will be sharing some truly incredible encounter stories from in and around that area, and each one adds a new layer to the mystery that seems to live in those woods. In this first installment, we're taken into the South Mountains through a terrifying family experience that began as an ordinary camping trip and turned into something they'll never forget.As night settled in, strange wood knocks started echoing through the trees, followed by unsettling “whoops” and other sounds that didn't match anything familiar. Few, if any, people are comfortable with the idea that there appears to be a connection between UFO sightings and the appearance of supposedly non-existent creatures, including Sasquatch. This week marks the 20th anniversary of Hunt for the Skinwalker, a book co-written by Dr. Colm Kelleher and George Knapp. It documented the strange encounters that had been reported and investigated by the NIDS organization (National Institute for Discovery Science) at a place now known as Skinwalker Ranch. That book inspired the creation of a secretive DIA program known as AAWSAP, which did NOT shy away from the pursuit of incidents in which unknown creatures, including Bigfoot, were seen in the same vicinity as UFOs, alleged dimensional portals, and other phenomena shunned by mainstream science.
