Scientists in Australia just discovered a huge Megaraptor, and it's a total game-changer. This dinosaur had massive claws and was way bigger than anyone thought lived there during that time. Before, most people believed Australia didn't have giant predatory dinosaurs like the ones found in other parts of the world. But this Megaraptor proves that ferocious, massive hunters were roaming the ancient Aussie landscape too. It also hints that Australia's dinosaur history is way more connected to South America and Antarctica than we realized. Basically, everything we thought we knew about dinosaurs Down Under just got flipped! Digger Rex gears up for an icy adventure into prehistoric Antarctica, seeking to unravel mysterious fossil clues surrounding the Cryolophosaurus, a unique dinosaur with a cool frozen crest.
(image source: https://dinopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Glacialisaurus) Host Matthew Donald and guest co-host Lawrence Mack discuss Glacialisaurus, another dinosaur from Antarctica that lived alongside Cryolophosaurus and ate ferns and such. It's a basic leaf-eating dinosaur, what more do you want from it? From the Early Jurassic, this 20-foot sauropodomorph lived millions of years before its hot and lush homeland became a frozen wasteland. How would you react if the land you lived in was only millions of years away from becoming a hellish landscape? Probably the same, honestly, seeing as the sun is gonna explode and Earth is gonna get scorched and entropy's gonna tear apart protons and Hawking radiation is going to deteriorate black holes and the universe is going to be dead forever and… wait, we're talking about some boring dinosaur, right? Where did my brain go? Existentialism…Want to further support the show? Sign up to our Patreon for exclusive bonus content at Patreon.com/MatthewDonald. (image source: https://bit.ly/3OtbH1P) Host Matthew Donald and guest co-host Stephen Curro discuss Cryolophosaurus, the first dinosaur described and named from Antarctica. That's pretty cool. Haha, geddit? GEDDIT?! You get it. From the Early Jurassic, this 22-foot neotheropod lived when the continent was still kind of nice and full of trees and ferns, kind of like Alaska in the summer. Ugh, can you imagine the mosquitoes though?! John Hammond should have searched for them in Antarctica; I'm sure he'd find a bucketload of them in amber. Want to further support the show?
