No sempre passa però avui en la roda de premsa prèvia a la 58a edició del Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Sitges s'ha anunciat la pel·lícula que cloura el certamen, serà The long walk (la larga marcha), de Francis Lawrence, que adapta la novel·la homònima d'Stephen King amb una pel·lícula molt gràfica i molt dura segons el director, Àngel Sala. Qui és director artístic del Festival de Sitges, juntament amb la directora de la Fundació del Festival, Mònica Garcia, han presentat a la Casa Seat de Barcelona el gruix destacat de pel·lículas que es podran veure entre el 9 i el 19 d'octubre a Sitges agrupades per seccions. En l'espai Òrbita, espai dedicat als films de més acció i aventura han destacat la xinesa Trapped, la coreana Sad tòpics o Find your friends, de qui Àngel Sala n'augura serà un xoc per al públic. En la secció Sitges Collections que inclou "les perles" del Festival n'han destacat títols com el film d'animació Arco, produïda per Nathalie Portman, una de les pel·lícules més gore d'aquesta edició, Bugonia o Frankestein de Guillermo del Toro. Pel que fa a la Secció Oficial que agrupa el gruix més grans de pel·lícules en destaquen Chain51 de qui els crítics diuen que és la Blade Runner francesa, la divertida Death of a Unicorn, el Drácula del romanés Radu Jude, gairebé tres hores de pel·lícula desconcertant. Altre títols destacats Esa cosa con alas, Good boy molta por amb un gos de protagonista, If I Had Legs I'd Kick You(Si pudiera, te daría una patada), probablement una de les sorpreses del Festival segons Àngel Sala que parla sobre la maternitat o La Leyenda de Ochi apte per a tota la família . També hi haurà presència de cinema nacional amb Decorado de Alberto Vázquez, Gaua de Paolo Urkijo o Silencio d'Eduardo Casanova. Pel que fa als convidats especials que rebran Premi Honorífic destaca Carmen Maura que rebrà el guardó el primer dia del Festival alhora que es projectarà Vieja Loca, film que interpreta i que produeix J.A. Bayona. Altres noms destacats són Joe Dante, padrí de la relació de l'humor i el terror i referent del cinema dels anys 80 amb títols com Gremlins i Terry Gilliam, membre dels Monty Phyton i director de Los caballeros de la mesa cuadrada o 12 Monos. Rebran també Màquina del Temps Enzo G.Castellari, William Fichtner, Bean Wheatley i Benedict Cumberbatch. Pel que fa als noms femenins el programa Woman in Fann destaca tres grans dones, Gale Anne Hurd Hunt, productora de Terminator, entre d'altres; Mery Harron, responsable d'American Phsyco i Nancy Loomis, un dels rostres més coneguts del cinema dels 70 i 80. La pianista vivió gran parte de su vida con su hermana Carmen y rodeada de buenos amigos, algunos figuras muy relevantes de la cultura española. Pilar y Carmen guardaron cada una de las cartas, notas y telegramas que Bayona recibió y los borradores de muchas de las que enviaba. Ahora, podemos leer esa correspondencia gracias a un libro indescriptible que publica, Libros del Innombrable y la Institución Fernando el Católico.Su sobrino, Antonio Bayona y el bibliotecario y archivero Julián Gómez, que ya publicaron con Prensas de la Universidad de Zaragoza una biografía sobre la pianista, son los responsables de la edición que en 750 páginas incluye las cartas integras de una correspondencia que es, en realidad, una biografía.

El 1 de Marzo de 1493, Martín Alonso Pinzón, al mando de la carabela "Pinta" arribaba al puerto de Bayona y daba a conocer la existencia de América al resto del mundo. El primer sitio en el que se tuvo noticia del descubrimiento fue en Bayona, aquel día. Os animo a acudir a la fiesta, que es una maravilla, y a conmemorar este hecho histórico.

On October 13, 1972, a plane carrying 45 passengers and crew – 19 of whom were young rugby players – took off from Carrasco International Airport in Uruguay heading to Santiago, Chile. The plane never reached its destination. Adverse weather conditions caused Flight 571 to crash into a mountain ridge, ripping the aircraft in two over the Andes mountains – one of the most inhospitable places on earth. Those who didn't die immediately in the wreckage – the so-called lucky ones – faced unimaginable horror. For 72 days, these survivors, aged between 19 and 26, endured frostbite and an avalanche. They watched as, one by one, friends and teammates perished in the plummeting temperatures each night. Starving to death in this endless white abyss, the passengers of Flight 571 were forced to do the unthinkable to survive, resorting to eating the bodies of the deceased as a means of desperately clinging to life. You probably know all this, because the story of the Miracle in the Andes as it became known is a story that's been told many times before, in books, films, documentaries and TV shows. What happened – how 16 people not only survived, but forged their own rescue – is well-known. How it actually felt to be out there in the wilderness, though – the philosophical and spiritual conundrums the survivors faced – has never really been truly translated to screen until now. Society Of The Snow – directed and co-written by our guest today, the great J.A. Bayona – is a drama that finds transcendence in the true-life tale of Flight 571. Yes, the film abides by the facts of what went down in that frosty mountain range across those agonising 72 days – Bayona spent hundreds of hours interviewing the survivors before penning the movie's screenplay with his co-writers Bernat Vilaplana, Jaime Marques and Nicolás Casariego. But more importantly, inspired by a great book – La Sociedad de la Nieve by Pablo Vierci – it takes a lyrical approach to the story. One bordering on the metaphysical, full of dialogues between the living and the dead.
