Au Sénégal, le Train express régional de Dakar, lancé en janvier 2022 pour désengorger la capitale, est tellement fréquenté que les autorités envisagent de multiplier les rames et d'étendre le réseau ferroviaire dans le pays. Le partenariat entre la Société nationale de gestion du TER (Senter) et les fournisseurs de matériel ferroviaire est donc appelé à se consolider, d'autant que les dettes sont en train d'être réglées. C'est une infrastructure victime de son succès au Sénégal : 90 000 voyageurs empruntent quotidiennement le TER de Dakar. Mais malgré sa ponctualité, les passagers doivent être patients pour monter à bord. Multiplier les rames et étendre le réseau ferroviaire dans Dakar et au-delà s'impose, estime Cheikh Ibrahima Ndiaye, le directeur général du gestionnaire, la Senter. D'autant que la capitale va bientôt accueillir un événement sportif d'ampleur mondiale : « Nous envisageons de densifier cette desserte dans l'optique d'abord des Jeux olympiques de la jeunesse (JOJ) que nous allons accueillir dans un an et qui va permettre de désengorger Dakar, souligne-t-il. Et nous sommes également dans la perspective de l'extension du TER vers l'intérieur du pays, avec une première phase qui est d'aller à Thiès, la première ville en sortant de Dakar. » Usine de construction ferroviaire ? Ces projets sont inscrits dans le plan de développement du Sénégal, Vision 2050. Une vision à long terme indispensable dans l'industrie ferroviaire, souligne Alain Picard, directeur général de CAF France, dont l'usine alsacienne rachetée à Alstom a fourni les 80 premiers trains du TER dakarois et qui pourrait installer un atelier au Sénégal : « Si nous savons, ensemble – Senter, les autorités sénégalaises et CAF –, tisser cette relation de long terme, alors oui, on peut envisager toute une série de déploiements industriels. Mais il faut bien comprendre qu'on ne s'implante pas dans un pays pour y rester trois ans parce qu'on a fabriqué dix rames, ça n'existe pas. C'est un investissement industriel qui a pour objectif une vision long terme et qui, par ailleurs, dans le cas du Sénégal, pourrait avoir une vision régionale, c'est-à-dire de considérer le Sénégal comme étant une base d'exportation. » À écouter aussiLe rail, une solution pour désengorger les mégapoles africaines Créances en voie d'être débloquées En attendant, le Sénégal est en train de régler les problèmes de créances qui s'étaient accumulés depuis le changement de régime, lorsque les nouvelles autorités de Dakar avaient décidé d'auditer tous les marchés d'infrastructures, y compris ferroviaires. « Aujourd'hui, pour le secteur ferroviaire, notamment dans le cadre du projet d'extension du TER vers l'aéroport, ces sujets-là ont été adressés par les deux parties. Et nous sommes en train de trouver toutes les solutions pour y apporter des réponses claires, assure le DG de la Senter, Cheikh Ibrahima Ndiaye. Aujourd'hui, je peux annoncer que pour ce qui concerne CAF, il n'y a pas de sujet. Il reste encore quelques paiements, mais qui sont en voie d'être débloqués. » Pour les autres sociétés qui ont participé aux travaux ferroviaires, affirme-t-il, le Sénégal a fait voter les budgets dans la loi de finance 2026 pour rembourser ces créances. We're back on Wrestling Omakase to discuss four very different Japanese wrestling promotions in another jampacked episode! John is joined by Milo (@primasteras on Twitter), someone they used to host Open the Voice Gate with right on this very network many, many years ago by now, making it a bit of a reunion for the two of them! Unfortunately the tragic passing of AJPW's Taishin Nagao absolutely had to be our first topic, so major content warning there (not that we really discuss anything that happened in detail though). The discussion of his death goes for about the first fourteen-and-a-half minutes.Then the two of them make a somewhat awkward transition to other things going on in their life (John went to an AEW Collision taping although they did not give a full review of the show or anything, as they figured last week's Forbidden Door review was more than enough AEW content on Omakase for one lifetime), before they head over to their first true topic of the episode: a full review of the STARDOM to the World 9/6 PPV, as Milo brings the perspective of a more casual/occasional STARDOM viewer while the two discuss yet another very good show from the World Wonder Ring. They also talk about upcoming title challenges and give a quick preview of the next 9/10 Korakuen, while John makes a bit of a case for Starlight Kid as 2025's Most Outstanding Wrestler.Then they move over to NOAH to talk a very eventful opening night of the N-1 Victory tournament, held on 9/8 in front of yet another packed Korakuen Hall audience. They discuss a possible promotion-altering injury to their franchise star, some very uneven matches, and an enormous GHC Jr. Title match as well. Then they look ahead to the first full week of N-1 action coming up.Afterward, John & Milo head over to Dragongate to discuss their 9/4 Korakuen Hall event. They discuss the debut of new heel stable Gaja Dokuro (and their connection to Rito Revolto- yes, really!), a great Brave Gate title match, a Triangle Gate ladder match the two of them felt very differently on, and discuss a little bit on why DG's attendances may be lagging a bit at the moment. S&P Futures are trading slightly higher this morning as markets look to tech earnings as being a positive catalyst. President Trump's actions on his intended removal of Fed Gov Cook remains a hot news item for the media, however the markets are focused on earnings. New tariffs on India went into effect today, significantly increasing duties on many Indian imports by an additional 25%, bringing some tariffs up to as high as 50%. This tariff hike is a direct retaliation for India's continued purchases of discounted Russian crude oil. Cracker Barell is moving higher this morning as the company will revert back to its old logo. Seeing strong gains in BOX, MDB, NCHO, OKTA & PVH after earnings releases. After the bell today NVDA, CRWD, SNOW, VEEV, TCOM, A, & NTAP will be reporting. Tomorrow morning, DG, DKS, BURL, HRL, BBY & OLLI are scheduled to report.
