%CODE_SS8% Welcome back to Secret Sauce! We change up the format of the show a bit as we continue to play around with different ways of celebrating black women. I am joined this episode by Tea from Fandom City and discussed sexual assaults on black women, when body shaming goes wrong and a change of heart. I then take a bit of a break to to interview Diane Liston from Styles of Imagination an award winning clothing manufacturer and designer from Cleveland Ohio. In my interview with Diane we talk about her first creation, her tenacity for success and why she believes sewing is a lost trade. Award winning fashion designer and clothing manufacturer Diane Liston has been in business for years under the Styles of Imagination umbrella. She has become extremely successful with clothing in over 15 boutiques across the company under the signature line NGU (which stands for 'Never Give Up'). She has also been featured in more than 20 magazines, highlighted on local TV and given opportunities to work with local and national celebrities like John Legend and Dwight Eubanks from the Atlanta Housewife franchise. In today's society, every woman needs a gay best friend—someone who gives it to her straight about life, clothes, sex, and relationships. For example, on the hit Bravo Network show, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” the breakout star, NeNe, has introduced the world to her gay best friend, Dwight Eubanks. On “Sex In The City,” Carrie Bradshaw often turned to her gay best friend, Stanford, and “Will and Grace” was all about the relationship between a woman and her gay best friend. The gay best friend—smart, sympathetic, and straight-talking—is the new must-have; no woman wants to be without one. Enter Terrance Dean and Straight From Your Gay Best Friend. Dean offers direct and to-the-point insights on some of life's most challenging issues—family, friends, career, love, sex, and intimate relationships of all kinds—mixed with a little sass, wit, humor, forwardness, and spirituality, as only a gay man can do. He speaks candidly to women on healing their souls of past hurts in order to tap into their fabulousness. Dean gives straight answers on when to leave a relationship, how to make it last, how to open up, how to get into the dating game, when to stop being a doormat, and how—more often than you might think—she might just not be that into him. This book will help women discover the strength they need for a life of abundant success, prosperity, and happiness with loving relationships. And it's all done from a place of love, coming from their gay best friend.Dean is also the founder/creator of Men's Empowerment, Inc. It is an organization that is dedicated to the transformation of men of color in their communities for their own self-empowerment. It allows men of color to communicate, share and participate in an environment where brothers can “check their egos at the door” and create bonding relationships with one another.
