Whether it's through television, books, or blogs – Louisiana's food culture is reaching audiences far beyond our borders. On this week's show, we meet three unofficial ambassadors who represent our state and cuisine on the world stage. We begin with Chef Isaac Toups of Toups' Meatery in New Orleans' Mid City neighborhood. In 2016, we discovered just how much the camera loved Isaac when he was voted fan favorite on Bravo Network's "Top Chef." In the years since, Isaac has successfully promoted Cajun cuisine and culture thanks to his popular cookbook, "Chasing the Gator." George Graham has called Acadiana home his entire life and has made it his mission to preserve and promote Cajun and Creole culture through stories and recipes. George shares his obsession through his nationally recognized blog and book, "Acadiana Table: Cajun and Creole Home Cooking from the Heart of Louisiana." Finally, Chef Kevin Belton tells of his journey from a child growing up in New Orleans to PBS cooking show host – a job that has him introducing the cuisine of the Bayou State to countless foodies. High Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) is still making headlines nationwide.  Wisconsin sits in a unique position relative to communicating directly with farms and bird owners about their risks.  It's called the Premise ID and it's managed by the Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium.  Their executive director, Julie Sweney, explains what they do and why. Ashley Huhn from the Steffes Group says they've got 21 more auctions to conduct this month, and then things quiet down for spring planting.  Great time to think ahead on your auction.  Paid for by Steffes Group. Federal Milk Marketing Orders are moving closer to some much needed reforms, hopefully before the fall.  Fellow farm broadcaster, David Geiger, talks to National Milk Producer Federation's economist, Stephen Cain, about what's being talked about most. Vinny Endres is a farm kid that's found his way to helping other farmers - with technology.  Endres talks to Charitee Seebecker about how his unique perspective on getting things done on the farm has helped him fashion answers for other farms and agribusinesses with technology.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Sean Ryne is already on his way to becoming an eminent songwriter and singer in the music industry along with a budding acting career. He hails from the city of Brotherly Love, and as such, he loves to share his talents with the world.  Sean began singing at the tender age of six at his home church in Philadelphia, PA. After his first solo performance of “More Than Just a Story,” Sean knew he was destined for a life in the performing arts. He went on to attend the Young Performance Theater where he won the Best Soloist award in Philadelphia, PA. He would pour his blood, sweat and tears into a career in music. Inspired by greats such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Barbara Streisand, Brian Adams and contemporary acts like Chris Brown, Charlie Puth, Bruno Mars, Ryne spent almost every waking moment honing his vocal skills and writing songs while other kids were hanging out with their friends.“ I would write every chance I had. I wrote about whatever I was feeling, even if it wasn't a complete song or poem. Life inspires me to write music and I love expressing myself through this form of storytelling. Writing is so personal. It's a great way to connect with people,” expressed Ryne. At age 12, he made his television debut on the Bravo Network show called “Bravo On with the Show” as a dancer. In 2008, he scored the lead role of “Jalen Cooper” for a local stage play in Philadelphia called “Just Believe”. Since then, Sean has been cast in several independent films and web series; so the young talent has found yet another skill to add to his already impressive resume. In fact, Sean has become so enamored with the film world that he has plans to add script writing and production to his list of credits very soon. Currently, Sean is promoting the RELEASE of his debut album “Better Late Than Never ”

Who was Houston Bred before becoming a YouTube and Patreon content creator? This is an introduction to the origins of one awesome creator that you would love to know. Houston Bred has some of the most unique name meanings amongst guests to have been on this podcast. Eventually, a college athlete, who never got carried away by her love for playing sports to the point where she wouldn't identify with her roots or her people. Taking the time to engage with communities around her, would open the doors of understanding to the dualities of being a Black American and an immigrant at the same time.   Houston Bred shared great advice for future content creators aiming to go on YouTube. I am telling you, don't sleep on this sister. We talked about music (has anyone been able to beat the podcast rules in this manner before?), some funny food talk, and a great discussion about different Black communities around the United States. It is good to have people such as Houston in the content space.   Judge Judy got to make her debut on the show via an honorable mention, opening another trip down memory lane for yours truly. A lot was covered in what may be quite a heavy-packed episode. Of course, we had plenty of laughs, I mean Judge Judy hello. Clearly these dolphins did not pick up on the destruction of New York City by its Democratic politicians but then again, they are dolphins, so we will cut them some slack. Bernie and Sid briefly discuss these dolphins before getting into the things that really matter and are directly affecting everyday residents of the tri-state area. The guys get into the latest anti-Asian hate crime by a person who is not white that the local and national news seem to be ignoring, and in the same vein Bernie and Sid point out that those same outlets are ignoring the race and background of the mass shooting suspect in Colorado because it he is not a white man. Also, a Lower East Side anti-mask bagel customer hurls the N-word at the black person taking her order prompting outrage from those filming her as well as those on social media and rightfully so. And sadly the guys discuss the 24-year-old woman who was drugged, raped and killed by two men in Miami Florida by two men who were not white and why the media is not outraged at the incident. Plus, Real Housewife of New Jersey Dolores Cantia stops by, as well as Andy Cohen of the Bravo Network to give the guys their entertainment fix. In today's society, every woman needs a gay best friend—someone who gives it to her straight about life, clothes, sex, and relationships. For example, on the hit Bravo Network show, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” the breakout star, NeNe, has introduced the world to her gay best friend, Dwight Eubanks. On “Sex In The City,” Carrie Bradshaw often turned to her gay best friend, Stanford, and “Will and Grace” was all about the relationship between a woman and her gay best friend. The gay best friend—smart, sympathetic, and straight-talking—is the new must-have; no woman wants to be without one. Enter Terrance Dean and Straight From Your Gay Best Friend. Dean offers direct and to-the-point insights on some of life's most challenging issues—family, friends, career, love, sex, and intimate relationships of all kinds—mixed with a little sass, wit, humor, forwardness, and spirituality, as only a gay man can do. He speaks candidly to women on healing their souls of past hurts in order to tap into their fabulousness. Dean gives straight answers on when to leave a relationship, how to make it last, how to open up, how to get into the dating game, when to stop being a doormat, and how—more often than you might think—she might just not be that into him. This book will help women discover the strength they need for a life of abundant success, prosperity, and happiness with loving relationships. And it's all done from a place of love, coming from their gay best friend.Dean is also the founder/creator of Men's Empowerment, Inc. It is an organization that is dedicated to the transformation of men of color in their communities for their own self-empowerment. It allows men of color to communicate, share and participate in an environment where brothers can “check their egos at the door” and create bonding relationships with one another.
