Send us a textIn this jam-packed live episode of "2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates," hosts Drew and Rob break down all the latest news surrounding the NY Giants as they gear up for their NFC East showdown against the Washington Commanders. They dive into the New York Giants' injury report for this week, highlighting key players like offensive lineman Ezeudu, WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette, and several defensive backs including Adoree' Jackson and Cor'Dale Flott. The Giants are dealing with a host of injuries across critical positions, affecting their lineup as they prepare to face a Commanders team battling their own injury setbacks, including players like linebacker Frankie Luvu and tackle Cornelius Lucas. Drew and Rob dissect how these injuries could impact the Giants' performance, and whether the Giants can overcome these challenges to bring home a much-needed NFC East win.Next, the hosts focus on a hot topic involving Giants offensive tackle Eluemunor, who made waves with his recent comments on holding his ground against T.J. Watt. Eluemunor had boldly claimed he wanted to face Watt one-on-one, and post-game, he stood by his stance, asserting that Watt was limited to just a single impact play in the matchup. Drew and Rob analyze the stats behind the story, noting Watt's six pressures, two sacks, and forced fumble, which sparked plenty of debate on just how effective Eluemunor's efforts were. As they discuss the comments from both Eluemunor and Watt, the hosts examine what this means for Eluemunor's role on the Giants' offensive line moving forward. The show then takes a look at the latest news on former Giants head coach Tom Coughlin, who's moved one step closer to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. With Coughlin named as one of nine semifinalists by the Hall's Coach Blue-Ribbon Committee, Drew and Rob discuss his storied legacy with the Giants, where he led the team to two Super Bowl victories. The duo recounts key moments from Coughlin's tenure, reflecting on his impact not only in New York but across the NFL. As the conversation unfolds, they talk about Coughlin's competition for the Hall, including other former Giants coaches like Dan Reeves and Marty Schottenheimer, pondering Coughlin's chances of making the final cut.As they prepare for Week 9, Drew and Rob shift focus to their game picks for the upcoming matchups across the NFL, analyzing the latest odds and making predictions for each game. With the Cowboys facing the Falcons, the Ravens up against the Broncos, and the Dolphins squaring off against the Bills, the hosts give their insights on where the biggest upsets and surprise wins might unfold. Their predictions include everything from the Giants vs. Commanders matchup, where the Giants are slight underdogs at home, to high-stakes games like the Lions at Packers and Rams at Seahawks. Throughout the live show, Drew and Rob keep Giants fans updated with all the critical NY Giants news and analysis they need. They offer the latest rumors and updates about injury statuses, roster decisions, and how these moves might play out on the field. Send us a textIn this live episode of "2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates," Drew and Rob dive deep into all the latest news surrounding the Giants, with an emphasis on how injuries and potential veteran signings are shaping the team's future. The duo starts off by celebrating a major milestone in Giants history as Tom Coughlin, advances to the next round of Pro Football Hall of Fame voting. It's a proud moment for Giants fans, and Drew and Rob reflect on Coughlin's legacy, his leadership, and how he transformed the team during his tenure. Also in consideration for the Hall of Fame is former Giants head coach Dan Reeves. The conversation quickly shifts to a pressing issue for the Giants: the offensive line. With mounting injuries and inconsistent play, the team may be forced to explore the free agent market to bolster their tackle position. According to a report from Pat Leonard, head coach Brian Daboll has indicated the possibility of adding a veteran tackle, but the team hasn't yet announced any specific visits or signings. Drew and Rob discuss some potential candidates, starting with Donovan Smith, a 31-year-old veteran with nine years of NFL experience, most notably with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While Smith has had a solid career, his recent performance with the Kansas City Chiefs raised concerns, as he posted just a 55.4 blocking grade for the 2024 season. Other options include David Bakhtiari, a five-time All-Pro at 33 years old, but his multiple surgeries on his left knee make him a risky proposition. Another significant development is the health of rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers, who has cleared concussion protocol, much to the relief of Giants fans. Drew and Rob discuss the impact of Nabers returning to the lineup and how his presence could give a much-needed spark to the offense, especially with Daniel Jones needing all the help he can get to regain his form.As the Giants prepare for their upcoming matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, injuries continue to dominate the headlines. TE Dallas Goedert and left tackle Jordan Mailata dealing with hamstring injuries and already ruled out. The loss of these starters will undoubtedly impact Philadelphia's game plan, especially with backup tight end Grant Calcaterra stepping in after a strong showing last week with 67 receiving yards. Other notable injuries for the Eagles include standout defensive tackle Jalen Carter (shoulder), who has been a force for their defense this season, and cornerback Eli Ricks (groin), both of whom have been added to the injury report.Meanwhile, the Giants have their own list of injuries to manage. Star pass rusher Brian Burns is dealing with a groin injury, and punter Jamie Gillan is nursing a left hamstring issue. Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence and cornerback Adoree' Jackson are both dealing with injuries, with Jackson's neck injury raising significant concerns for the secondary. The episode wraps up with a look ahead to the remainder of the Giants' season, with Drew and Rob discussing potential strategies to navigate their injury-ridden roster and how adding a veteran tackle could be a game-changer for their offensive line struggles.Support the showAll Episodes are shot LIVE with fan interactions on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, & TwitchSponsor the show at: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/2giantgoofballsInterested in starting a podcast. After a decent college career at the University of Wisconsin, Ron Egloff didn't hear his name on draft day in 1977. Two teams reached out with invitations to try out in their camps: the Falcons and the Broncos. The tight end wasn't fond of the heat, so he chose Denver where he had to fight for a roster spot with 7 other tight ends. He won. Not only did Ron make the Broncos roster in 1977, he went to their first Super Bowl that year. The Broncos got behind early in that game and Ron couldn't make the impact he was hoping. But he was just a rookie and he thought getting to the Super Bowl was easy. He never made it back. Ron did make an impact with the Broncos for several years, until Dan Reeves cut him out of the blue. He was shocked but signed nearly immediately with the Chargers where he spent another season as his career was winding down. In retirement, Ron invested in and helped run the iconic Jackson's Hole in Lakewood, Colorado for two decades. He also lent his name and marketing savvy to a couple of companies and continues to stay involved in the community as a board member of the Denver Broncos Alumni Association.Hosted by Susie Wargin

When Broncos first year head coach Dan Reeves drafted him in 1981, Steve Busick had already played with some big-name defensive teammates at USC: Clay Matthews, Ronnie Lott, Dennis Smith and Jeff Fisher to name a few. During his college career, the Trojans won back-to-back Rose Bowls and were National Champions in 1978. When the linebacker came to Denver he joined the likes of Tom Jackson, Randy Gradishar and Steve Foley on the Orange Crush Defense. Bottom line: Steve Busick knew what it meant to be surrounded by great teammates and how to win. Steve played 5 seasons in Denver and went to the playoffs twice. He was coming off what he felt was a solid year when the Broncos finished 11-5 in 1985 and Reeves called him into his office. He was trading Steve to the Rams where he would be reunited with his college head coach John Robinson. Steve wasn't happy about leaving Denver but liked the idea of playing for Robinson again. It didn't last long. A few games into the 1986 season, Steve tore his ACL and was done for the year. He tried to come back in 1987 but his knee wasn't the same. After he retired, Steve heard about a Denver glass company that was going out of business. He had just enough money to buy the business. With zero knowledge about windows or running a business, Steve hired the right people and built Busick Insulated Glass into a very successful company that has been going strong for over 3 decades.

In this episode of Sports the NEMO Way we bring the Denver Broncos to the table for discussion.
Rundown - Steve Busick - 06:37 Jordan Hedberg - 49:48 Troubadour Dave Gunders - 02:06:45 "Too Many Drivers" by Dave Gunders - 02:14:00 It is our Denver Broncos' season. For pro football stars like Russell Wilson, Denver has become the place to play. Former Broncos' linebacker Steve Busick, who won Rose Bowls and national championships at USC, joins our show to talk football. As an LA kid growing up with a tough Marine dad and even tougher mother, Steve Busick describes life at USC including encounters with OJ Simpson, Marcus Allen, Ronnie Lott, and others. And wait till you hear of Steve's encounter with Muhammad Ali at LA's Wilshire Hotel. Drafted in Dan Reeves' first draft class, Steve Busick wore #58 playing alongside Bronco greats Bob Swenson, Tom Jackson, Randy Gradishar and Jim Ryan. The Broncos won big as John Elway hit his stride in the mid-1980's. Steve Busick explains why he and other Broncos stay in Denver to raise their families. Jordan Hedberg is a rural Coloradan. He's a Westcliffe, Colorado dude which means he lives in remote Custer County. As a kid, Jordan Hedberg tells us he lived in Boulder and attended the same elementary school as Burke and JonBenet Ramsey. Not only that, they were friends. Listen to Jordan Hedberg, publisher of the Wet Mountain Tribune, and you may want to visit Custer County. Or perhaps not. It is scenic but mega-MAGA. Jordan Hedberg tells us Linda Stanley won the 11th Judicial District DA job just by toting an AR-15. We discuss Stanley's Barry Morphew murder case mistakes. Jordan Hedberg's newspaper has a rich history – delivering a piece of the Wet Mountain Valley since 1883 - and was recently featured on 9News. There's a beef with the county commissioners and now, allegations of retaliation. https://www.9news.com/article/news/local/next/next-with-kyle-clark/custer-county-paper-first-amendment-lawsuit-commissioners/73-84f100cd-e508-4061-a80c-25274426fff6 Dave Gunders gifts us with his blues song, Too Many Drivers and explains how it is about infidelity. This deep song gives many meanings to the word Drive, but since it is football season and we're talking Broncos, remember in The Drive in Cleveland. This hard hitting episode is fit for football season.
Dan Reeves was facing 6-20 years in prison and was on the verge of losing everything. Even with those consequences hovering, he was unable to stop consuming the very chemicals that put him in this position. When the student is ready, the teacher will appear, and Dan’s came in the form of an Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor, and the twelve steps which altered the course of his life forever.
