If you have had a cosmetic procedure and wish it could be undone, or if you are considering a cosmetic procedure but afraid you'll regret it, there are options for going back. There are options available if you don't love the outcome after most procedures.  Implants and fillers can be changed, and it is possible to rework other cosmetic procedures. Brazilian butt lifts and other fat grafting shaping procedures can be treated with liposuction like techniques to go in reverse.  Trends in appearance are okay for fashion and makeup, but not ideal for aesthetic treatments, especially plastic surgery.  Thinking through your procedure decisions and planning properly is the key to good outcomes. Carefully plan and think through your wishes and desires before getting a cosmetic procedure with tools like visual imaging and computer simulation to understand the results you might see. It's always better to avoid an unwanted result than have to undo it, but there are ways to rework procedures, if not necessarily reverse. And be kind to your body tissues – perfect is the enemy of good. About Dr. Lawrence Bass Innovator. Industry veteran. In-demand Park Avenue board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Lawrence Bass is a true master of his craft, not only in the OR but as an industry pioneer in the development and evaluation of new aesthetic technologies. This week we are focusing on the joys, triumphs, and realities of being a working mom in the busy field of Aesthetics. Our featured guest, Alexis Bowhay, PA-C. Alexis is a fellowship trained Aesthetic Injector at the Village Institute of Plastic Surgery where she's building a busy injectable practice, and she's taking it one day at a time. After starting her career in Cardiology, she decided to take another path and become an entrepreneur. She's the owner of two fitness centers in the Orlando area where she's built a successful health and fitness empire, but if you've met Alexis, you know she's got the capacity to do more! Enter Aesthetics. She decided to pursue a different passion as an injector in Aesthetics, but she was self-aware enough to know that she wasn't ready. She approached her now colleague Larry Blevins, PA-C with a request to shadow him day-to-day to hone her new craft. That turned into a frequent occurrence and eventually a fellowship. Alexis is the first graduate of the American Foundation of Aesthetic Medicine fellowship, a rigorous 6-month program led by Danny Soares, MD and Larry Blevins, PA-C that included at least 100 hours of supervised treatments, research, clinical evaluations, written exams and more. After completion, Alexis continued her career at Village Institute of Plastic Surgery with Dr. Soares and Larry, and she's now building her own brand within VIP, and with her savvy business mind, she's well on her way to carving out her own niche in the industry. But Alexis is far more than just an injector. She's also a busy mom to a 15-month-old daughter and a wife. In this episode, we talk a lot about the reality of being career-focused while also being a devoted mother and spouse. Alexis calls out to the industry to talk about this more- to acknowledge the internal struggle so many face as they put their little ones to bed and pop open the laptop or make tough choices between time with their family or time at work. She credits her incredible support system and an understanding husband with allowing her to make it all work. What's next for Alexis? The sky is the limit. She's currently working on a research study and continuing to build her skills and her clientele. Her goal is to make an impact in Aesthetics by contributing to the knowledge base of injectors throughout the industry. She's already an influencer in the Fitness world, so the celebrity side of it all doesn't excite her nearly as much as clinical side. In the meantime, she's focused on raising her daughter, being an invested wife, and juggling it all while making it look easy! Facial paralysis can affect one side or both sides of the face and can affect eye closure, the smile and lower lip movement. Facial paralysis can be caused by a variety of syndromes and can also be the result of a birth defect, a tumor, or trauma. When facial paralysis occurs in children, it impairs a child's ability to move their facial muscles and show facial expression. Surgery can be done to reanimate the face and give children back the ability to show their smiles and expressions on the outside. The Facial Paralysis and Reanimation Clinic at Mayo Clinic Children's Center brings together a team of experts including neurologists, plastic surgeons, optometrists and physical therapists to develop a treatment plan tailored to each child. On this Ask the Mayo Mom edition of the Q&A podcast, host Dr. Angela Mattke is joined by two experts— Dr. Samir Mardini, a plastic surgeon and chair of the Division of Plastic Surgery and co-director of the cleft and craniofacial clinic at Mayo Clinic Children's Center, and Dr. Waleed Gibreel, a craniofacial and pediatric plastic surgeon at Mayo Clinic — to discuss facial reanimation surgery in children.

Are you considering plastic surgery, but you're not sure where to start? You are not alone. There are thousands of women undergoing cosmetic procedures every day like tummy tucks, liposuction, BBLs, facelifts, breast augmentations, and more.  Many women start to research and find themselves quickly overwhelmed by so much information.  How can you be sure this is the right choice for you? How do you find the right plastic surgeon to deliver the results that you are looking for while at the same time being safe and having a good recovery? The journey doesn't have to be scary. It can be a time to transform your life and I can guide you. This week's episode we highlight the journey of one of our members. Lola la nalgona details her journey and the steps she took to make the best out of the journey. She had surgery with Dr.Calvin Jung in early 2022.liposuction 360/jplasma whole front of  abdomen, bilateral flanks and axilla, entire back, arms and chinfat transfer to bilateral buttocksIn preparation for her surgery, she prepared her mind and body for an entire year. What makes the difference? Many factors can contribute to a negative experience. Some of these factors are out of your control but some we are in control. The preparation plan I developed for Lola included preparing both the mind and body long before she even selected her surgeon. On this episode of the Plastic Surgeon Podcast Dr. Sajan's patient, Liam. Liam is a transgender man who underwent top surgery with Dr. Sajan at Allure Esthetic earlier this year. Liam was born and spent his early life in the Dominican Republic. It was not until he attended high school in the United States that he began to have the language for his identity and the feelings he had growing up.During childhood, Liam experienced feelings of gender dysphoria. He never liked wearing traditional girls' clothing and expressed an interest in girls instead of boys early on. Seeing boys, Liam realized that he wanted to look like and be like them. He even enjoyed when he would be misgendered before he transitioned because it better matched his true identity. After moving to Washington and attending school, Liam witnessed fellow students come out as transgender and transition. This gave him the language to understand how he was feeling and his true gender identity. Liam did not formally come out until 2020, despite having these feelings all of his life. Listen to the story of Liam's incredible journey on the newest episode (and season!) of the Plastic Surgeon Podcast with Dr. Javad Sajan.Subscribe to the Plastic Surgeon Podcast for more plastic surgery stories from real patients and providers. Plastic surgeon Dr. Luke Swistun has helped hundreds of women with breast implant removal and is deeply experienced with breast implant illness patients. In this podcast, we talk about what you might experience immediately after surgery, how much pain to expect, how long recovery might take and how complications are handled. If you have capsular contracture, implant rupture, or malpositioned implants, you'll feel a huge difference when the implants are out. Many patients also mention less back pain and better sleep. For younger patients, breast tissue usually allows their breasts to bounce back in volume, but older patients may need an additional procedure such as a breast lift or fat transfer at some point in the future. Where do the actual breast implants go after explant surgery? Usually implant companies want to examine them for proof of rupture and if less than 10 years old, patients may be reimbursed for a percentage of their surgery. Cary also chats running into Tamra Judge earlier this year in Switzerland, whether she thinks Tamra can “save” RHOC and what will RHOC be like with Tamra solo without Vicki. Cary also discusses the fact that RHUGT has never had a member of the Dallas cast on it and will that change anytime soon. Cary opens up about joining RHOA or M2M now that she and husband Dr. Mark Deuber have opened a branch of Lemmon Avenue Plastic Surgery in Atlanta. LJC facial plastic surgeon Dr. Kiersten Riedler outlines everything you need to know about facial fat transfer and injectable fillers. If volume loss in your face is starting to show your age and you're exploring solutions to reverse it, the best method for restoring volume depends on your anatomy, age, and goals. For anyone wanting a permanent increase in facial volume along with some improvement in the quality of the skin, fat transfer is an excellent long-lasting option. If you're wanting short recovery time and improved structure of your lips or nose, hyaluronic acid fillers are a great trial run to see how much volume suits your goals before committing to a more permanent solution. Sculptra is another non surgical option for adding volume to your face. Rather than simply filling in hollow areas like hyaluronic acid filler, it stimulates collagen growth while restoring volume.
